Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
DesperateHousewife21 · 29/05/2012 15:52

Sorry I don't know which hormone it is! The mw is sending the paperwork to me and I can ask the consultant at the hosp any questions (and I intend to!) to put my mind at rest.

There's not alot I can do til I've had this app at the hospital. They're the ones who will refer all my scans.

Does this mean I'm not classes as low risk anymore? Because I really wanted to go to the new low risk birthing unit to have this one.

applepieinthesky · 29/05/2012 16:22

Didn't she write the name of it in your notes?

horseylady · 29/05/2012 16:25

Sorry to hear that dh. I don't really understand much about birth stuff. Could answer a lot of questions on cancer though!! I hope all is ok, you get seen quickly and your questions answered though. I assume I'd have been told about my blood results?! Will look in my folder.

Baby is very active kept me awake for ages last night!!

Detective my belly has been bad today :( maybe it's a bug rather than anything else? Here's hoping!!

Right off to ride the horses...

Thechick · 29/05/2012 16:50

I think I have some sort of bug. Have been feeling sick since 10 am yesterday and Im not hungry at all (which isnt like me). Ive been on the loo quite a lot (sorry tmi) and I'm lathargic. Had a temp of 38.1 yesterday, and to go to the out of hours gp yesterday. They just said talk to your doctor today.

mrswee · 29/05/2012 17:02

DH and HB Sorry to hear you two ladies are having troubles with low hormone levels. I hope the consultants and scans bring you good news.

I am about the burst with excitement and fear, we just got our mortgage offer in, the final hurdle in signing on the dotted line to purchase the property we think we want to buy are buying.. it's a wreck but a really good opertunity for us to do up and make a lovely home from which will be have a bit more space for our expanding family.

In the mean time I am sure it will bring us some stress and strain, hopefully we will get through that before this little one is born!

DesperateHousewife21 · 29/05/2012 17:07

apple no when I had my mw app yesterday she didn't have my blood results so she said she'd give me a ring when she got them (today) so I havent seen the paperwork or the mw since she called to tell me earlier.

mrswee congrats on your mortgage, in very jealous! I want a house do much instead of being in a 2 bed flat with soon to be 2 children!

DesperateHousewife21 · 29/05/2012 17:08

Stupid phone.

Chunkychicken · 29/05/2012 17:09

I'm busy wondering why Fate seems to like testing me. Just as things are getting better in some respects (moving date in hand, morning sickness gone, not long til the hols, DH working better hours) some things have got much, much worse. I have literally tonnes of packing & marking, & now DD has a mysterious rash which is likely nothing more than heat/viral, but could maybe, possibly, very unlikely be Rubella :( I'm immune (I think) & DD has had her MMR but still...

Sorry to hear you're going through it a bit too DH & HB x

mrswee · 29/05/2012 17:32

DH It is still a flat but a 3 bed and a bit more roomy that our eery small two bed we are in now. It's an upper villa in a block of four with potential to do the attic, so it's an improvement and basically the closest we will ever get to a house I think! it's actually not much differnt from what we are in now, just an upgrade really! still has a garden but not as nice as my garden I have now (sob) and on a slope so that will be interesting.. I am imagining a lot of tumbling down the slope by toddellers!

chunkychicken I have lost count of how many weird rashes DD has had since I have been pregnant, everyone one of them comes with a fear then seems to disapear in a few days as mysteriously as it arrived. MY dd has had prickly heat the last few days poor wee thing, the upside of which is that she has had to have piriton syprup which has meant she has slept rather well! I hope your DD is better soon and its nothing more than heat related!

Chunkychicken · 29/05/2012 17:54

Thanks MrsWee am sure you're right, it'll be nothing more than heat/viral but I've appointment for her tomorrow morning & I figure better safe than sorry. Am a bit anxious she'll pick up chicken pox & slapped cheek too!!! Never worried about this before, when pg with her, as didn't know any grubby little ankle-biters then Grin

tomatoplantproject · 29/05/2012 17:58

Hello all

I haven't posted for a little while. Sorry to hear about more sickness and low hormone levels. You ladies take it easy you hear me?

I had my 16 week scan earlier. There's definitely something with a strong heart beat residing in my tummy area. I am already getting enormous even though its %231. I can't feel any movements yet which is making me cross - I'm sure there won't be many times I shout COME ON KICK ME HARDER! Grin

mrswee we're in the depths of house renovations - there's now no back wall and a lot of bare bricks. It's incredibly exciting choosing everything and creating it all how we want it but there has been a lot of poring over spreadsheets and trying to make the costs work and selecting stuff on time to make sure we don't hold up the builders. This poor baby is coming a big second to house stuff at the moment but having a family home for us to live in will be worth the pain.

daisychain76 · 29/05/2012 18:00

Hope you get the appointment at the hospital soon to reassure you DH and that your DD is fine chunky.

Had my 16 week MW appointment today. Baby's heartbeat was 166, so I think that means a girl! Was at home and in a rush to get there but didn't have a specimen bottle to wee into (forgot to pick one up last time). Realised I couldn't wait til I reached the clinic, so ended up taking it along in a Matey bubble bath bottle Blush!

mrswee · 29/05/2012 18:14

tomatoplantproject Sounds like a major renovation! Spread sheets are a good idea, our budget will be tight. good luck with it all!

chunkychicken the dreaded slapped cheek... I didn't want to emntion it but yes every little rash my DD had had has given me the fear of just that.. I'd never heard of it beore this preg and it doesn't help that DD is teething her lat two teeth so keeps getting red cheeks!

OH THE HEART BURN! all this excitment/fear has been too much for me this afternoon!

mrswee · 29/05/2012 18:14

I typed that all a bit fast!

DesperateHousewife21 · 29/05/2012 18:52

mrswee Ahh I see! Is the garden just yours or will you have to share it? We've got a communal garden but it's not fenced in and just goes out onto the car park do ds runs all over the place as he has No Fear.

TheDetective · 29/05/2012 19:58

I'm back from my sulk. 3 vomits, and felt like shite all afternoon.

Took the tablets just then.

Going to try and have my tea in a minute. On a related point, after reading the posts re: weight. I went and weighed myself again this evening. I've lost another 5lb Confused. I'm not bothered, quite the opposite! Just confused, as I've been eating more, and getting bigger! Ah what the hell, I'm gonna end this pregnancy lighter than I started ;) So I've lost 1st 1lb now.

DH Re: the hormone levels. Its probably really bad of me, but I have no idea what this means. It would probably help if I knew the hormones involved. But racking my brain brings me nothing! I haven't worked on clinic for a long time, before the NT tests came in, so that might explain why?! I hope I've definitely never heard of needing extra scans etc for it. Definitely check this when you get your appointment.

mrswee · 29/05/2012 20:17

DH It's a fenced private garden so quite good. still have to go down the stairs and round the back to get to it though. And I am a bit worried about the slope!
Our current garden has a communal area for drying washing and each flat has their own section, mine is fenced of three sides and open to the communal area, DD does keep running off and beyond the communal area is my neighbours bit and their gate is broken/missing and goes right out onto the road so it is a nightmare. I could have fenced it off but it costs a fortune!

Evilwater · 29/05/2012 20:23

Hello ladies,
I'm sorry that I didn't post yesterday, I felt a bit flat.

The scan was done by a foundation doctor, who was not really supervised. The sonergraher was booking his hoilday! And he was grumpy. So that was why I felt flat.

The spine looked good, but wasn't counted, I saw two arms and legs and saw some of the bones of them. The doctor was forever measureing head. Have no idea why! There was a stomach, lungs, and a heart.

The guy was also grumpy cause I didn't have a full bladder, that morning I had been on a course for emergancies. So not such a good idea to have a full bladder, also there water machine was broken in the scan department, also not so good on a hot day. I did tell him this, but it didn't change his attitude.

The baby turned his back on the doctor which made things worse, so I had to do star jumps. It worked but it looked the baby had no room to move. On the screen the uterus looked small compared to the baby, is that a problem?

Then my DP as winding up about names, pepe! Of all the spanish names!!

But today I had the best mackerel, bloody lovely. I've sat in the sun and got a little red, but it has cheered me up no end.
Evil

mrswee · 29/05/2012 20:25

I think I am feeling miniscule movements again. I am pretty sure that's what they are :)

Evilwater · 29/05/2012 20:44

I hope those with low hormones, get better soon. DH I also hope the sickness stops.
Evil

blonderthanred · 29/05/2012 21:26

Sorry your experience was less than spectacular Evil. But glad the baby seems to be ok.

I've just come back from pg yoga, was really stressed out before but now I feel very zen and stretched. Ommmmm.

HelloBear · 29/05/2012 21:31

Sorry DH21 I crossed posted with your earlier post about not knowing about what hormone it was, didn't mean to ask stupid questions Blush. unfortunately all you can do is wait, which is sooooo frustrating. But try not to worry!

applepieinthesky · 29/05/2012 21:40

We have now put off buying the cotbed because I'm still not sure whether to buy brand new or second hand with a new mattress. Today I got some white babygrows, little socks and a white button-up cardigan with a hood.

My brother and his girlfriend are coming round at some point over the bank holiday weekend to help me paint the nursery. The colour we have chosen is lemon fizz so suitable for a boy or girl. Have to say it looks much better on the wall than it does there.

TheDetective · 29/05/2012 21:59

Sorry Evil, your experience sounds similar to my first scan :(

Deflated was the only way I could describe it too. That is why we ended up paying for a private scan. For a nicer experience. Glad to hear no problems were found though :)

Apple if you go on ebay and search for the seller nurserysavings, this is where I got my cot from at a much better price than mothercare would sell at. Very happy with my bargain! Check out the completed listings for an idea what price they go for. Oh, and I love the lemon fizz colour (good enough to eat!) I'm sure DS's room was a similar colour when he was little. Must have a look at the pictures to remind me!

I'm wondering when we should decorate our nursery. I was going to leave it til later, but now not so sure, as it will be me doing it while DP hovers around and gets in the way. Because I do it better Grin. Of course! So don't want to do it when massive. But don't want it getting ruined by doing it too soon (dog, cat, DP and DS - clumsy fuckers the lot of them!)

Might do it when I'm about 28 weeks. We shall see! If there are signs I won't be seeing my feet before then, I may reconsider!

Off to Ikea tomorrow, as it is pay day. Going to get an extra set of the bedding, the fabric for the curtains, the net to go over the cot (decorative thingy) and the light shade. Total cost = £32 Grin. I was going to get these little coloured mirrors, but decided not to, as I'm going to put some shelving on that wall instead to keep books, teddies etc on. Might get a couple of the mirrors and dot them about. Not sure yet! Decisions decisions!

Going to get the cot mattress and maybe moses basket this month. Shall see how the pennies roll out! Has anyone got any mattress recommendations? I have budgeted around £100 for one (but obviously would like to spend less for the same quality!) I want a medium firmness, and one that will be very comfy to sleep on! It has to last a good few years as its for the cot bed too. I don't really like the foam ones, and the ones with springs need to be well padded above the springs. Dislike feeling the springs through them!

applepieinthesky · 29/05/2012 22:45

Wow they go for great prices. Thanks TheDetective. I'm also bidding on a moses basket and stand at the moment which I would be able to collect locally. It feels like things are slowly coming together now.

For the first time I'm starting to look pregnant as well. Finally. My boss and colleagues I work closely with know but there are still some others that don't and I thought I caught a couple of people looking at my stomach today trying to work out if I am not. There is a definite little bump now Smile
