Apologies for awful grammatical error. Slap on the wrist for me.

I'm looking at finishing on halloween, this gives me 2 weeks until MY due date, 10 days until the scan due date (def out by 4 days) but hopefully as the last 2 were early, this one will be too so only a week before. Unfortunately I don't think I've any choice but to go back to work after 6 months, I'm trying to start an internet business but it's doing crap :)

Tomato I am suffering terribly with tiredness and NO energy, but as soon as I get in bed I just can't sleep. Like you I'm averaging about 4 hours, I feel like death warmed up at the moment, my face looks like a dot to dot and I feel like I'm going to trip over the bags under my eyes!

Jenbird Your site looks brilliant. Have you any tips for advertising? My friend and myself have just started selling on-line, have had one order that arrived damaged so we had to replace it lol. That's all we've had, so any tips would be absolutely fantastic. We've got a website with a shop and I've applied to search engines, done leaflet drops etc, so any advise would be a massive help, PM me if you want. Thanks in advance.

My sister has offered me her old pram, so looks like I've just saved myself a few hundred pounds, I'll also be getting a travel cot as baby will be spending most of the time in my bed as I will be breastfeeding (did this with the other 3), probably goes against all advise but I'm a bit neurotic if they are in their cot, up every 5 minutes poking them to make sure they're breathing :)

I'm that cold today that my nails have turned blue :/

ShellyBobbs · 09/05/2012 12:37

Stuntnun blame it on babybrain, you can blame EVERYTHING on this now Grin

horseylady · 09/05/2012 12:55

Had my scan and all is good Grin. Its definitely a baby and not a food baby. The scan had me at 12+1 instead of 12+5 which I think is wrong but that is better for me maternity pay wise so I am sticking with it.

I am having such vivid dreams that I am waking up more tired than when I went to sleep. I woke up thinking that I had been late for the scan and the midwives were horrible to me. Sorry detective and nebbo I have never had a MW be horrible to me! I have had these from Day 1 which was why I suspected I was pregnant but cannot imagine what they will be like closer to my due date.

Taking the week before my due date off which isn't so bad as I work three days a week. Mum said she will help me out with the house so that I can nap on my days off when the boys are at school.

Telling the boys tonight Smile

WestWinger · 09/05/2012 14:17

Fab news Brockle!

Brockle · 09/05/2012 14:20

Cannot stop smiling Smile and trying to guess if it is a boy or girl via the nub theory

Chunkychicken · 09/05/2012 14:41

Good stuff Brockle :)

ShellyBobbs · 09/05/2012 14:55

I have smoking dreams, I am always having a crafty fag and get caught. I haven't smoked since 1999 lol! Typical anxiety dream me thinks Grin

NervousAt20 · 09/05/2012 14:55

Congrats brockle did you get a good nosey at the screen Grin

What were the reactions that people have got when they've told people? All mine have been good apart from taking about 45min to convince my mum it was a joke lol and an uncle making a sarcky comment about my age Hmm

horseylady · 09/05/2012 15:00

Everyone but my in laws have been fab!!

ShellyBobbs · 09/05/2012 15:22

Nervous My brother made a sarcky comment about my age when he found out. He asked my mum if I was keeping it because I was a bit old for a baby!

And good news Brockle Grin

Cacacaz · 09/05/2012 15:26

Nervous we haven't had any negative reactions yet, at least to our faces!

I have baby brain, I was at work and put a load of washing in the machine, went to empty it only to realise I didn't press the start button Blush

I think I will, having spoke to my dh and bosses, start my maternity leave when I'm 36 weeks which takes me to the first week of October.

I am planning on only taking 4 months off, my main job, as I am in a very privileged position. My wonderful bosses have said that I will be able to take my baby to work with me Grin.

Brockle that is fab news Smile

I'm off to google nub theory now.

daisychain76 · 09/05/2012 15:27

Lovely news Brockle. Have you told your other DCs yet?

I had a horrid dream about my being rheseus negative last night (which I am, but in reality it is not really an issue). Must admit, that was another reason I went to see the MW this morning cos it panicked me a bit! I love the fact they run a drop-in session at my local clinic so you can just call in if you need to.

Thanks for the positive words, Stuntnun and horsey. I cheered myself up a bit by going on amazon and buying some books for kids about where babies come from/how they grow (trying to stop the endless flow of questions on those issues!) I am just getting frustrated because I feel so much worse in the afternoon and evening which is when my DCs need me around. Now they know, at least I can explain if I need a lie down but I still feel a bit guilty.

Libster33 · 09/05/2012 17:00

Hi Ladies, hope everyone is well.

I introduced myself and ran last week, stupid work getting in the way of my cyber social life. Can someone please add me to the list 10/11/12, my comp doesn't seem to like me doing it.

This is our first so we ventured into Mothercare for the first time ever on Saturday, THERE IS SOOO MUCH STUFF for such a small person, mild panic started to set in. Of course the DH wasnt interested in the practical stuff, he just wanted the play with the coolest looking pram, the most expensive gadget laden rocking chair (there is one with a kangaroo movement setting.. who knew!!)

On another note, is anyone struggling to find decent work wear? I work in the city so there is an expecation that I look as smart as possible (this doesn't work when I can't do my trousers up haha) I know the internet is pretty good but I wanted to actually try some clothes on in a shop. Any suggestions, that won't break the bank, gratefully recieved.

That's probably enough rambling for now. Take care all xx

Chunkychicken · 09/05/2012 17:24

I am feeling a bit miserable at the moment, cos I seem to be getting so fat!!! I think I weigh quite a lot for my size anyway - I mean, I'm never under 9st despite being a size 10 & short, so my BMI is always at the high end of normal (which wasn't helped by the MW rounding up either!!) but I seem to have put on so much weight already! I think this happened with DD too, as I def remember feeling a bit concerned that I had actually put on weight in the first trimester & that I wasn't meant to iyswim. But equally, I was quite happy to just eat, be merry & worry about losing the weight afterwards. In the end I think I put on about 16-18kg, between 2.5-3 stone, but lost it, then some, afterwards.

This time, I'm starting weighing less but have already put on 3.5kg (7-8lb). I think it doesn't help that my scan is a wk & half further on than last time, so I would have been making it public by now then. I'm not sure why I care so much. I think I'm worried I will hurt more as a result, be more poorly during the pg & then not5 lose it again - last time, I was helped with the weight loss by the appendicitus!!! I also believe that you often get bigger, earlier with your 2nd and I'm already feeling a bit breathless carrying DD up our steep stairs (she weighs 12kg).

Is anyone else being this stupid??!!! I DM not normally one to give a damn about my weight/size either, I mean I never ever diet at all. I just cut down in treats/alcohol etc to get healthy & maybe exercise more (although that's harder with DD). Can I hope that trying to walk more/be a bit more active when the weather improves and the general 2nd trimester perk-up will slow down my weight gain??!!

Libster have you tried Dotty P or Next for smart work trousers? Perhaps you'll find some to go with any jackets you have, then add maternity tops later on?

Chunkychicken · 09/05/2012 17:26

^am not DM Blush

WestWinger · 09/05/2012 17:49

Chunky - I've put on a lot of weight already too. I seem to remember something similar at this stage with DD1. Think I put on about 3 stone with her Blush but like you lost that and an extra stone afterwards. When the books say you should have only gained about 2 lbs in weight, I'm like, oops, already put on 9lbs. I have a huge belly and boobs but haven't put much on anywhere else. Or am I kidding myself?!?!

Chunkychicken · 09/05/2012 18:45

I think its the same with me Westwinger trousers are well fitting everywhere except the waist... Glad its not just me. I just feel I look really pregnant without actually being able to say that I am.

I think my DH is getting a bit fed up of me going on about it too. He keeps sighing, tutting etc when I moan, I guess because he's not used to me caring. Maybe that's the hormones??!! But last night he did say something like 'you're nearly a third of your way through your pg, so it'd be weird if you didn't put on weight/look bigger' which was quite sweet for him (and proves he doesn't read any of the books that say you're not meant to gain a lb in first trimester). Bless.

applepieinthesky · 09/05/2012 20:00

Great news [brockle]

I have had a very bad today. Rubbish day at work then found out my dad didn't get the job he had an interview for last week. He is on a temporary contract in his current job which is going to come to an end any week now. He has applied for loads of jobs but doesn't even have any other interviews lined up. He's trying so hard and it's so disheartening.

My cousin who has leukaemia isn't doing very well. At the end of this week he will have completed his first round of chemo and all of his white blood cells should be killed off but the doctors can't work out why they're not. They also think he has a blood clot and some kind of problem with his kidneys.

And the third thing. My grandad has been to the hospital for some tests. He has diabetes and his blood sugar is dangerously high. It should be about 6 apparently but at the moment it's 21! They said if it isn't brought under control quickly he is on the verge of a major heart attack or stroke. So what have they done about it? Sent him home with one of those finger prick things and said if it is still high in 2 weeks they will put him on insulin. Why they didn't do that anyway is beyond me. I'm so upset about it.

We are going away to Devon on saturday and taking the dog with us. I cannot bloody wait. A week away from everything is exactly what I need right now.
Sorry for the rant Blush

Hello All. Have been a bit busy recently so haven't had time to catch up with thread. Hope all is well with everyone. Very excited as get my new car tomorrow, Woohoo! Getting a Suzuki Grand Vitara so should be a good dog bothering/child transporter!! :o

Not feeling particularly pregnant anymore, apart from the fact that my clothes don't fit so well anymore. Am having to rearrange my wardrobe as I can't get in some clothes already!! 15 weeks on Friday.

Will post again once I'm caught up with eveyone's news.

WestWinger · 09/05/2012 20:28

applepie :( :( :( :( Don't know what else to say.

applepieinthesky · 09/05/2012 20:28

We have a Suzuki Grand Vitara as a company vehicle at work and it's lovely. Really nice to drive, comfortable and tonnes of space. Good choice. I'm thinking of changing my car because we only have a little Renault Megane but we have a fast-growing Labrador and little one on the way. Can't really afford anything newer though so may just trade mine in and get something for a similar price but bigger. Gosh I didn't realise how much there is to think about and plan when you have a baby!

StuntNun · 09/05/2012 20:48

I'm just back from the physiotherapist after the GP couldn't resolve the pain in the bum that I've had for a few weeks and it turns out I have a slipped disc, sciatica and bilateral trochanteric bursitis. Beat that Detective! Grin So he's given me some exercises to do to strengthen my puny abdominal muscles, treated the bursitis with ultrasound and scolded me soundly to sit up straight and not cross my legs.

I'm so glad I went as he said that untreated it would probably got worse and turned in to PGP. He's thinking about trying me out with a maternity belt next week, not sure about that - they probably make you look fat! I never had any back problems in previous pregnancies so I wasn't expecting all that. Still at least it's been picked up early so I've got a good chance to strengthen my abdominal muscles before they all go to pot in a couple of months.

Two days until my scan and counting.
