Jen, how very very exciting! :)

I hope you'll forgive me for being slightly jealous.. I think you'll beat me as well as Wants.

Scream, good work on Maybe's handcuffs Wink

jenfraggle · 16/05/2012 14:46

Musical you had a show before me and that was without a sweep. You have also had contractions a number of times and I've only had 1 lot which was last night. You are ahead of me.

Biscuitsandtea · 16/05/2012 15:16

It's not a competition ladies - just both of you get those babies out and come join us on the night shift Grin.

clickingtock · 16/05/2012 15:31

A quick message for Smegs if that's ok - there's a whole section on here [home birth www.homebirth.org.uk/ homebirth] about Group B strep and HBs... You have to delve around a bit. Hope that helps!

clickingtock · 16/05/2012 15:31

Sorry homebirth

NoMaybeAboutIt · 16/05/2012 15:55

Sneaky Smegs I hadn't even noticed that Grin

I'm not going anywhere, there is too much escitement to be had in here!

pommedechocolat · 16/05/2012 16:05

wants i drove through where you live today and thought of you!

You may have heard me shouting nursery rhymes at the hysterically screaming baby

musicalmrs · 16/05/2012 16:42

Biscuits, I'm not trying to win - am just convinced I'm going to lose Grin.

Just had an accidental two hour nap. One of the cats came and joined me meaning there was no way I could possibly get up Grin. Back on the RLT and the ball now! I must confess I'm getting a little fed up of RLT...

jenfraggle · 16/05/2012 16:42

Nothing happening here...

musicalmrs · 16/05/2012 16:49

I was about to observe that Wants is very quiet, but she's also very busy today isn't she!

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 16/05/2012 18:06

Hi brookers! Apols for my awolity - I am sans laptop the administrators have reclaimed it, grr and find reading MN on my phone a bit of a faff...

I've been getting a lot of hip pain at night - I think hope because I'm not used to sleeping on my side at night rather than anything more suspect SPDish but can anyone recommend anything to help? I've tried sleeping with a pillow between my knees but can't say it helps that much.... I get pain on the outside of my hips (it feels like bruising; like I'm lying on the bone and it hurts) and also stabby pain on the inside on my pubic bone area. It's fine once I walk around a bit and doesn't bother me in the day, but obvs that's not much help when I'm trying to sleep Wink

Have I missed anything exciting? :)

My scan is next week, super excited - am also getting lots of proper kicking though not strong enough for DH to be able to feel it, yet!

jenfraggle · 16/05/2012 18:47

More show, that's 4 times today I've found bits. Surprising how much there is.

BartletForAmerica · 16/05/2012 18:51

Just marking my place for jenfraggle's live birth updates! Grin

jenfraggle · 16/05/2012 19:07

Been for a walk, only out for about 10 mins but it set off some BH and now I'm knackered.

musicalmrs · 16/05/2012 19:11

Oo-er Jen, are you going to beat Wants to it?

Fluffy, how exciting about the scan next week! Grin Will you find out the gender, or will you be having an UBB?

I had exactly the same problem as you hip wise on and off. I found a combination of things helped, including a huge body pillow (got mine from Mothercare) which I'd partly lean on, sometimes put between my knees, sometimes under them etc was very good. I ummed and ahhed about getting one, but in the end DH convinced me too, and I think it played a huge part in getting me comfortable at night (not that that helps the pregnancy insomnia!). At points where my hips really hurt against the bed I found putting another normal pillow underneath them helped too - just cushioning everything a bit. I think mine is due to the exact same thing - I always used to sleep on my back or my front.

Sadly I'm now at the point where so many bits of me ache that no number of pillows help! Grin

jenfraggle · 16/05/2012 19:29

I doubt anything is going to happen today

jenfraggle · 16/05/2012 19:49

More. I wish it would all just come out at once, that's 5 times today now. Also getting some whopping great kicks so Spud is getting all excited in there.

Stacks · 16/05/2012 19:56

Jen I'm enjoying lurking and reading your updates. I need to do all the research I can get on labour signs. I'm going to be completely clueless when the time comes otherwise!

I've watched SOOOOO many hours of birth/baby/medical programs I feel pretty clued up on the active labour bit. But before it all starts? no idea :)

ScrambledSmegs · 16/05/2012 20:23

Ooh Jen sounds like you're warming up! Good luck Smile

tock thanks for the link. Will have a good read.

Fluff I used a dream genii pillow and found it a godsend. I couldn't get on with lots of pillows. I can't link on my phone but hopefully you can google it easily.

Sorry it's such a quick post - I'm shattered, have insomnia every night and it's obviously making the ms worse too. . And I have a hen weekend to go to. I really dont feel up to it, but want to make an effort for the bride. Although I probably shouldnt, there's history there...

Wants3 · 16/05/2012 20:29

The cupboards and fridge are now fully stocked! The boys were beginning to panic that they would be left without supplies while I was in hospital.:) I think Jen and musical are the front runners for providing impending excitement!

jenfraggle · 16/05/2012 20:33

Right, I'm off to bed, can't stop yawning! Back to bore you all senseless tomorrow

musicalmrs · 16/05/2012 21:14

Eek, I'm definitely thinking my money might be on Jen now! :)

Have been out to bell ringing, so we'll see if that exercise/movement/noise gives the LO any incentive to come out. Other than that, an evening of RLT and chocolate ahead for me!

Smegs, so sorry the insomnia's getting worse :( I wish I could offer you some helpful suggestions, but I'm afraid mine's just gotten worse and worse- the only thing I found helpful was having things to listen to in bed (I find spoken word often sends me to sleep- comedy programmes from Radio 4 etc).

musicalmrs · 17/05/2012 06:23

Just a quick update - bloody show, then contractions started.. Getting quicker so I'm en route to the hospital! Not sure if I'm in established labour, but we'll see..!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 17/05/2012 07:08

Musical!!!! I'm so excited! Good luck lovely!
