Blush shy hello from the May thread.. just v interested to see how some of you get on refusing induction as I might soon be in the same position (v late ds1 & don't want induction this time)
Good luck to all!

newmummyvicky · 15/04/2012 07:36

Congrats the new mums I've missed :-)

I'm waiting for my Baba to wake up for feed, she was a angel last nite going 4 between each one, waiting on her waking now.

Boobs still a little sore, nips still cracked but saw mw Saturday, and she show me latching on again, I wasn't doing it with her mouth wide enough. She didnt think the tongue tie was a problem and wasn't that bad!

Good luck to fliss wont be long now....
For those are over due, I know how U feel I was 40+7 when I had contrations. I had a sweep and took me to 2cm to 3cm and really started me off. I didn't find it painfull, so might be worth having if you feed up!
Also found out stiches have gone yeah! And Lyra has gone up 6.11 lbs.x

Cutelittlecatlover · 15/04/2012 07:47

Congratulations Hayley!

Fliss I hope you're snuggling a lovely newborn too.

Well, Angry I'm still pregnant! 40 + 11! I was convinced I was having proper contractions last night. I'm so fucking pissed off, we have loads of family coming down to see the baby today ffs and every time I speak to them (about 3 times per day atm) I feel like I have to apologise for not providing them with their grandchild in a more timely fashion. Dh has had this week off work but has to startis new job on Tuesday which means no one to help out here if the baby does eventually decide to come out. Tomorrow I have to see the consultant at the hospital where they treated me like shit when ds was born and the mw told me they like to induce at +12 and will do their best to make me stay there. I feel a bit like a lamb to the slaughter, dh is coming with me tomorrow but after that any appointments etc will be just me and ds. I ache all over and I just want this baby out Sad

JambalayaCodfishPie · 15/04/2012 08:20

Big congrats Hayley, and well done on your natural birth! Come and join us on the post natal thread...

What news Fliss? Thinking about you...

Jellybellyrbest · 15/04/2012 08:27

Congrats JustHayley!! Hope you're rested now & enjoying your new baby boy. Our little angel is going well & was much more settled last night....fed pretty constantly 9-3 & then slept till 07.00. Longest sleep I've has since Thur. For all you tired overdue mums to be, keeping my fingers crossed s'thing good happens today.

Jellybellyrbest · 15/04/2012 08:32

New Mummy Vicky, I'm having a bit of trouble getting Emily properly latched on too. She's not able to open her mouth wide enough to het her bottom lip well positioned.. We're working on it though. Good to jese tour freding eorking out well & know we'll get there too. Fliss, hoping you're ok.

Bearcrumble · 15/04/2012 08:40

Big congrats Justhayley your birth story made me laugh so much I read it out to DH. Love the bit about you telling the midwife to get in the pool. You'll be surprised at how quickly the titchy ones put on weight (my DS was 4lb 5oz) I accused DH of boil washing his clothes and shrinking them but it was just that he was growing so fast.

Fliss Hope all went well for you. Bit concerned you might have been transferred to hospital as updates stopped - but you might have just had more important stuff to do!

Cutelittlecatlover It must be miserable for you being so far over but you musn't add feeling guilty to that! It's not like you're crossing your legs to annoy the family. Can they postpone the visit? Could your mum come and help for a bt when baby comes if DH is starting his new job?

newmummyvicky Lovely to hear that you've got an obliging sleeper, it is a totally novel experience for me (DS used to feed every 1-2 hours and stay on for an hour as well).

JambalayaCodfishPie · 15/04/2012 09:28

Im just reading through the first trimester thread. I never read it originally as I didnt find out until a little later on.

Its really exciting that some of you 5/6 week pregnant ladies have your babies now, and sad that some people didnt get to finish the journey. :) :(

Theres a lot of people on there who arent about now - are some of you name-changers? Just wondering, because now i've started the story, i need to finish it! Grin

Nordicmom · 15/04/2012 09:41

Congrats Hayley! Hang in there Cute:)!

katiegolightly · 15/04/2012 10:22

Congratulations Hayley!! It starts to get v real when the girls with the same EDD start popping them out!

4 more sleeps until my CS now booked in for 19 April... I can't wait to meet her.

Loving all of these stories, keep them coming. cutelittlecatlover I hope today is the day for you so you can get all of those impatient flapping rellies off your back, good luck!

Flisspaps · 15/04/2012 10:39

DS born at 8am today, in hospital, forceps. 1500 ml PPH Shock

Laboured at home for 25 hours with water and G&A s and transferred in an ambulance after an hour of pushing and no movement (well, not baby movement anyway Blush)

Over the moon Grin

Mind you, at 11lb 7 he wasn't going to be shifted easily.... no, not a typo. The growth scan was wrong...and not In a good way Hmm

MissPenteuth · 15/04/2012 10:45

Sorry for the thread hijack but Yay Fliss! GrinGrin Congratulations, I'm so pleased for you. I've been checking this thread all morning after your update last night.

I hope you're resting up, that's a lot of blood lost. Looking forward to hearing more details when you're ready :)

WhenDoISleep · 15/04/2012 10:47

congrats to Hayley and Fliss.

Fliss - what a big boy! Hope you are resting and recovering well - that was a big PPH. What does DD think of the new addition?

LaTristesse · 15/04/2012 10:59

Massive yay for Fliss, and no induction needed [smug emoticon for you]. Good on you for birthing such a big boy, hope his shoulders are ok!

katiegolightly · 15/04/2012 11:08

Good grief, Fliss - that's incredible! great work and massive congratulations. I'll bet tea & toast after that was magic!

Congratulations Hayley and Fliss on your little and large boys!!

Fliss hope you are ok after PPH.

Lovely to hear about how everyones babies are doing, I am getting excited to meet my last edition.

cute poor you, you sound so down. Sending you a big bump bashing hug.

Trying to wrangle a grumpy, nap refusing 16 mo at the moment, think I may have to waddle out with him for a walk, we walk with a similar gait at the moment.
Had a clary sage bath this morning and DS1 asked me why I smelled like Daddy's football bag Hmm

Bunsouttheoven · 15/04/2012 11:20

Congratulations Hayley looks like your ds has impeccable timingGrin well doneSmile

Oh fliss you superstar, congratulations to you & your family. I'm guessing you might not have much need for any newborn clothes you have. I always new those scans were tosh.

Rest up, enjoy the cuddles

JambalayaCodfishPie · 15/04/2012 11:25

Had a clary sage bath this morning and DS1 asked me why I smelled like Daddy's football bag

Cant think where he got that idea from...... Grin

The first time i used it DP wandered in with a face like he was down on the farm.... "What IS that smell?"

OP posts:
spannermary · 15/04/2012 11:38

Congrats Fliss - amazing!! SmileSmile

I'm back in hospital. Bp is 160:100 even with pills, and there's protein++ in wee so they've upped my tablets and are waiting for blood results. I may end up being induced after all...we shall see.

Fed up with it all and beginning to have panic attacks now! Sad Just don't know what to do for the best. All the more frustrating as I slept well last night and felt good this morning: I felt sure the tablets were working!

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 15/04/2012 11:38

Weyhey, congratulations Fliss!!!! :) No wonder he put up a fight coming out Wink

Cute don't worry, I'm still keeping you company and hugely overdue. (+10 today) I also missed the visiting relatives, though mine were here last weekend. I am very miserable. Feeling very sorry for myself. Laid in bed earlier ignoring everyone and made DH get up with DS while I just lay there.
SPD is now awful. I have the hugest sympathy for anyone that has it bad right the way through, its only got this bad in the last week. I can barely move. I sneezed earlier and it hurt so much it made me cry :(

Mum has stolen DS again!! Having sunday lunch at hers today, so me and DH are going to walk there and see if that helps at all. Plus DH is going out on his bike for a few hours this morning and leaving me on my own to see if that tricks him out.

Having my leftover chinese now for brunch...

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 15/04/2012 11:43

:( spanner

At least if you're poorly you're in the best place. Let us know how you get on if you can, I'm sure everything will be fine xxx

digitalgirl · 15/04/2012 11:45

fliss well done that is amazing!!! Congratulations on your very hefty baby boy! Did they give you a transfusion? Rest up now - you're going to need as much sleep as possible to get your iron levels back up.

HollyPockett · 15/04/2012 12:08

Holy moly Fliss!!! well done you, yowzer he's a big boy. Bloody bravo

I've just had alisten to my hypnobirthing cd to try and get the Diva to make herself known. I'm 40 + 4 now and ready to meet my daughter. Lots of visualising and breathing and quite weirdly, I do feel different. Might just be hungry tho :)
