They've let me come home!!! SmileSmileSmile

So when DH arrived the doc was talking through induction with me & I raised my concerns (in a quite sobby fashion) & then she gave DH and I time alone. I talked to him about interventions, my PND concerns if induction led to traumatic birth etc. She came back & he was an amazing advocate for me. Then doc said my urine from this am was protein ++. At that point I realised I hadn't given a sample: only bloods! So she took more, checked again and both bloods & urine were fine.

So I'm 40+6, on bp tablets and back in to check bp tomorrow.

So good to be home. Now I may have a week's respite (bp permitting) and a week for little one to come naturally! Thank you so much for your support and encouragement. I feel a bit stronger now & am so glad I didn't up being induced on the basis of someone else's dodgy wee!

Off to sleep in my own bed now. Fliss - hoping for news when I wake!! Grin

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 14/04/2012 13:59

Yay!! Bet you must be over the moon to be home! :)
Oo, and thanks for mentioning PND risk, I'd missed that off the list of reasons I don't want to be induced that I sobbed out to DH this morning!!

Thaleia · 14/04/2012 14:03

Lots of new babies - congrats to all new mummies!!!

38+1 today, had my last day at work yesterday - incl. baby shower! It was so nice to be waved off by everyone. Went for drinks afterwards and I'm dead tired today.

My next MW appointment is on Monday and I hope the little one is still in a good position but has no intention to make an early appearance. I really need the 2 weeks to wrap my head around the fact, that there will be a BABY soon!!

Flisspaps · 14/04/2012 15:10

spannermary brilliant news! Ctx are coming irregularly, mostly about 11-12 mins apart but some 2m and some 20ish. Will call the MW when the bulk of them are 10m-ish apart, pool is inflated but will start filling it later once ctx are closer together.

Missing DD though. Longest I've been away from her, and I've never not been there in the morning for her. Going to see what's happening at about 5pm and maybe bring her home so she can sleep in her own bed after an exciting day at Nanny's Grin

Bunsouttheoven · 14/04/2012 15:49

spanner great that you've come home, well done to you & to DH for getting the outcome you wanted.

fliss also glad ctx still coming. My good friend had a (planned) home birth & her dd (aged 2 & 1/2) witnesses the whole thing. She was entirely unfazed & took it in her stride. Just enjoyed telling visitors exactly where the baby came outGrin

Congratulations & well done jellyGrinGrin

VintageNancy · 14/04/2012 16:53

Thank you for all the congratulations! We're a very happy little family; as I type we've just had breakfast in bed (2 night hospital stay is standard) and daddy is having skin to skin snuggles.

jelly! Can't believe we picked the same name and our girls were born on the same day Grin. Friday the 13th was very lucky for us.

I'll try and write my birth story at some point and share it. Was very positive experience. Things got a little dramatic after the birth but all was well once the doctor, nurses and midwife did their thing.

fliss hope all is going well and things are progressing Grin

I'm a bit sleepy so can't remember everyone else's updates but hope all those overdue don't have to wait too much longer, those with a little longer to go keep healthy and that the snuggly newborns are healthy and giving their mummies plenty of rest! Grin

Nordicmom · 14/04/2012 18:25

Congrats Jelly. Good luck Fliss, Cute and others. It
'll be us in the hospital soon. 1w 1 d day to CS . Last time being an emcs it's very odd having the date now!

Scoobysue · 14/04/2012 20:34

Wow, it's all kicking off on here now isn't it!!! Congrats to all you lovely new mummies & "i feel your pain/frustration" to all you overduers.

40+1 today and feeling frustrated round about now. Been feeling rough since Thursday with nausea, diarrhea, stabby pains in my fanjo and aching back, abdomen and pelvis. Everyone's been telling me this is all good early labour symptoms and it won't be long now. Guess what I woke up to this morning......absolutely sod all Angry Any chance he's just taken a day off before the big push???

Have sweep booked for Monday morning so we'll see what that brings....

Cutelittlecatlover · 14/04/2012 20:38

Congratulations Jelly and Vintage, what a strange but lovely coincidence!

Nordicmom, how exciting! I hope all the legal stuff is as straightforward as possible and you're home with your squidgy new dd in no time.

I'm taking the silence from Flisspaps as a very encouraging sign, sending happy birthing vibes your way Fliss.

I don't want to speak too soon but I've been having lots of strong braxton hicks all afternoon and they seem to be getting a bit sore, I will report back when I've worked out if its wind or the start of something Grin

Flisspaps · 14/04/2012 21:17

No baby yet. Intense ctx finally 7m apart but lasting a hellish 3m each. MW is coming out in the next half hour to see me and I hope to high heaven I'm 4cm so I can have the entonox because if I'm not and she then tells me i can't, I may throw myself out of the window. Repeatedly.

LaTristesse · 14/04/2012 21:32

Keep breathing Fliss, we're with you! Not long now and that bubba will be too!

HollyPockett · 14/04/2012 21:38

Keep going fliss.

waves pom poms in the air

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 14/04/2012 21:51

Woohoo!! Do you have a birth thread then fliss or you staying on here?

I've just finished my pack of jaffa cakes. Grin

Bearcrumble · 14/04/2012 21:53

All the best, Fliss.

Bunsouttheoven · 14/04/2012 21:59

Yes Nordic we found it strange knowing when my cs would be. Such a funny feeling knowing when you'll meet your baby. Good luck hopefully it will run smoothly & you can get back to start family life back in the uk quickly.

Hang on in there fliss bring on the g&a

WhenDoISleep · 14/04/2012 22:33

go Fliss

shakes labour pom poms

notso · 14/04/2012 22:37

Yay Fliss .

Cute hope it's all kicking off for you too.

Glad you are home spanner.

Lovely pics Newmummyvicky.

I am still bored, DH is out on stag night, neighbours are being noisy twunts.

Bananna1 · 14/04/2012 22:38

We're all willing you on Fliss - GO GIRL :) :)

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 14/04/2012 22:40

Notso - I have the nosiest ever police helicopter whirring about outside! Angry

Getting random period type pain again. Just that time of day I think, not getting my hopes up.

spannermary · 14/04/2012 22:42

Yay Fliss! And hurrah for knowing the day you'd start!

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 14/04/2012 22:49

You are aware fliss, that if baba is born in the next hour (or has been already) you are technically one of the elusive 5%.... Wink

Hope all is going smoothly and you're still home! :)

notso · 14/04/2012 22:53

If the neighbours wake DC up the landlady will be getting a phone call, they seem to be having a best fake orgasm competition, either that or it's an orgy with a hysterical audience.

Bananna1 · 15/04/2012 04:05

Arghhhhhhhh, can't sleep. Starving hungry and baby names just racing through my brain. Arghhhhhhhhh.

Wonder if you're snuggling up with your newborn Fliss??

JambalayaCodfishPie · 15/04/2012 06:53

Morning all.

Well, for the second evening, I had contractions, thought this was it, shipped DD off to my mums........ And now nothing. Sad

I'm not due for another week, and am not fussed about waiting, but this stop-starty-ness isn't fair!

PS Seems we've some lurkers from the May babies thread about too - Hiya!! Don't spy, say Hi!!! Grin

Grin I have a baby boy Grin he arrived 2 weeks early at 1.45am 15/04/201/ weighing a tiny 5lbs 3oz.

I havnt got a name for him yet. I was convinced I had so much more time - hadn't finished work, & was packing my hospital bag & writing my birth plan a few hours after my waters went lol - nice and organisedBlush

Because of his weight we are staying in for 24 hours but he is healthy & doing well.

Didn't get the water birth I was after but had a total natural birth, couldnt use much gas & air as it made me sick, & when they were offering me the pool there was no chance in hell I could get off the bed & change rooms. Think I told the midwife to f off & use the dam pool herself if she liked it that much Blush (she asked me twice) lol.
Labour couldn't have gone any better (not In a hurry to do it again though) it lasted 4 hours from established labour to birth (90 mins moaning In the house with period pains and "mild" contractions & I arrived at the hospital crawling along the car park at 5cm dilated. Have a 1st degree tear & had 2 stitches, all in all I'm pretty pleased with how it all went.

Will never no how anyone delivers a bigger baby. Apparently I kept screaming at telling the midwife she needs to get more help as my baby was going to be a stone it hurt so much. Let's say I wasn't best pleased that she wasn't convinced - red face when a 5 pounder popped out lol.

Well that's it for me I guess.
Thank you so much for your support during the pregnancy.
Were there any other babies born during the night?

Looking forward to all your birth stories - it won't be long girls.
Have no clue what started my labour early, so don't have any tips sorry. was very active though pregnancy & worked 10 hours that day so maybe it had something to do with that! However am convinced it progressed so quickly because I had acupuncture 12 hours after my waters went.

Going to try sleep now I'm exhausted.

Love to you all

Hayley xxxx
