Just realised the dates wrong for your lovely arrival Spanner. Will change it next time we have an update! Sorry! Smile

Emsgale · 17/04/2012 09:09

congratulations spannermary glad ot all went ok ans quickly!!! welcome baby bill!!

Bananna1 · 17/04/2012 09:20

Wonderful to hear your news Spanner and that it was all so quick. Well done to you, your DH and baby Bill :)

Fliss, hope you get to have the odd nap today if little (or big!) Frank lets you!

Bananna1 · 17/04/2012 09:21

Jambalaya, who is going to be our stats updater queen when you pop??!!

confuzed90 · 17/04/2012 09:21

Omg I've missed so much! Congratulations to everyone who has had their babies!! Every single one that I've just read brought a tear to my eye and a lump to my throat!
Iv not got much to report, except the irregular tightenings and period pains since saturday afternoon, babys head is resting on cervix. When I have a contraction, my whole belly goes so hard and the period like pain is ssoo intense and actually makes me tear up and can't get my breath..just wish they'd regulate a bit more.

thepuddingchef · 17/04/2012 09:23

congrats spanner am very Smile for you. It's nice to hear all the arrivals, at least I know I will have a ickle baby soon that is one thing for sure, not sure how he's going to arrive or when!

Cutelittlecatlover · 17/04/2012 09:33

Congratulations Spannermary and welcome home Fliss!

My lovely daughter was born last night at 9.44pm at home after a 2 1/2 hour labour! We don't know the weight yet until the mw comes later as it all happened so quick the second mw didn't make it with the scales! Name not decided yet. I'm sore but over the moon, absolutely besotted with her!

Sending labour vibes to all those still waiting xx

Bananna1 · 17/04/2012 09:37

Congratulations Cute and lucky you on the speedy delivery! Wonderful news and glad all is well :)

spannermary · 17/04/2012 09:39

Amazing cute: it's the season for speedy deliveries!!

So glad all went well Grin

Thaleia · 17/04/2012 09:43

Congratulations Spannermary - truly amazing!!

Haven't slept much last night as still trying to get my head around the c-s but feel more content now. I never forget what one of the MWs said to me: a perfect birth is when both mum and baby are happy and healthy. So it's almost selfish to either endanger him or feeling like I failed because it didn't turn out the way I thought it would. After all, there might be a reason for the breech. Just need to read upon it now to be not so clueless, didn't pay any attention to this part in the classes at all as - of course - that would not happen to me.

Still, will try to turn him naturally with all techniques available and doable (Indian Bridge is therefore out). Am I mistaken or is it just me having a c-s in April?

Thanks for your encouraging words, really appreciate it.

Thaleia · 17/04/2012 09:44

Congrats to you as well Cutelittlecatlover!!

JambalayaCodfishPie · 17/04/2012 09:45

Bananna I'm trying not to think about it - I've gotten a bit anal precious about it! Grin

Congratulations Cutie - let us know the weight and I'll update! Wink

HollyPockett · 17/04/2012 10:01

Ok. I'm starting to get jealous of all the newborns now Envy !!!!

Congratulations cute! Hurrah for such a speedy delivery!

notso · 17/04/2012 10:04

Congratulations Spanner and Cute, lovely names Fliss.

Was woken up at four this morning by a really weird squelchy noise, wondered what it was for a min then realised it was my waters breaking!
Kind of hovered around in a crab position while I woke DH up as didn't want to soak the bed or the new carpet!
Then gave myself a painful and unexpected brazilian by putting a maternity pad in sticky side up.
Pottered around secretly leaking water everywhere whilst trying to maintain normality for DC, didn't want the older ones to be in school worrying all day.
Older two in school, youngest at Nana's, DH has popped into work for a couple of hours as I have only had two contractions and a bit of bachache so far.
Just had a lovely, long shower and am going to try and get a nap in.
My bump looks mini now the water is rapidly disappearing, mat clothes are baggy again
Feeling excited and unprepared, am noticing loads of things I should have done ages ago!

Will be staying in hospital after birth until they are certain baby isn't jaundiced, as don't want to be in an out like DC3, it was too upsetting for other DC and stressful for me.

LaTristesse · 17/04/2012 10:08

Yay well done Cute, hope you were ok with a quick one, I know mine scared me a little as I felt pretty out of control... Better than knocking on for hours though i guess! like last time

Go Notso, you next by the looks of things!

Flisspaps · 17/04/2012 10:38

cute congratulations Grin

notso good luck Smile

Bearcrumble · 17/04/2012 11:06

So happy to hear your news, Spanner - you really deserved to have a nice, quick, straightforward birth after all the worries. Congratulations on the birth of little Bill!

Lovely news, Cutelittlecatlover - sounds like you had a wonderful birth. I so pleased for you.

Best of luck, Thaleia and notso.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 17/04/2012 11:07

Aww, congratulations cute and spanner!!
Very glad you both had straightforward deliveries :)

I'm now tempted to not argue about induction at all Grin I'm jealous, I wanna meet my baby!! While I'm there, I'm def going to ask if there is any reason why I can't have the pessary then go home again as I'm booked for a home birth....?
One of my main concerns has always been the memory of a woman being induced next to me in hospital, sixth child, over two weeks over, and four days later, still no luck...

Oh well, we have 23 hours til my appointment. Going to watch the football tonight, hope that might inspire a pitchside delivery by St Johns Ambulance Grin

Nordicmom · 17/04/2012 11:47

Congrats to Spanner and Cute! Also good luck Notso!

WhenDoISleep · 17/04/2012 14:00

Congrats spanner you deserved a nice short labour after all the worrying of the last week. I hope you found it a good experience (well, as good as labour gets!)

cute fantastic news and another short labour

notso good luck -hope things have kicked off nicely for you by now. I'm actually a bit jealous as we share a due date, and tbh, I'm pretty resigned to still being sat here hugely pregnant as we trundle into May.

thaleia it must be difficult for you that everything you were expecting around the birth has changed at the last minute but I think it is the right way to go. Personally, in your situation I wouldn't opt to try and turn him as the process, given his position, sounds pretty brutal and neither would I try to deliver a breech baby vaginally, unless I could guarantee MW's with extensive experience of delivering babies in that position and unfortunately they are not that common these days, as most women go for the ECV or c-section. How long will DH be able to help you afterwards? Are you able to get any family help or if not, would a post-natal doula or mother's help be an option once DH is back at work? There is lot's of experience and help on here don't forget - quite a few of the ladies that have already popped had c-sections, plus there are lot's of threads over in childbirth that discuss what to expect during and afterwards.

nordicmom when are you flying to the US?

beyond excellent temptation for baby to put in an appearance tonight with you making plans like that

Nordicmom · 17/04/2012 18:11

Whendoisleep , flying on this thu afternoon. DS still at school today and tomorrow . We're only half packed if that , still getting last minute supplies, doing laundry etc. Also had the builder in today ( was useless so have that to look forward to when back and a bunch of other things to fix in our house too grrrrr...) . Am running around tomorrow on errands and doing the schoolrun when I should be packing really .Lots of loose ends untied here so I bet we'll have various people wondering where we are. Been really emotional recently , very stressed and nervous . To be honest not at all exited and worried how the hell l'll manage after since my illness has been bothering me more ... In that sense I do worry about bonding with etc. it's crazy but I'm actually feeling quite tearful now and can't even blame the hormones. ...

WhenDoISleep · 17/04/2012 20:38

nordicmom I would say that it is hormones - it's been a long hard road for you to get to this point and now that is is almost here you will be feeling all sorts of emotions, which is completely understandable.

I guess you still don't know how long you will need to stay in the US for? Will DH/DS be with you for all the time or does DH need to come back for work?

Nordicmom · 17/04/2012 22:19

If it drags on DS is going to be picked up by Grandma who will then with Grandpa move in to our house temporarily and look after him so he can go back to school. DH works for a company luckily that has offices in New York ( he was already there twice while I did the IVF ). So that at least won't be a problem. It'll be very expensive living there but I'm pretty familiar with the city having been there lots of times before .
Returning to this country depends on how long it takes to get an entry permit which is officially up to 12 w! Lawyer says it won't be that long in his experience. I'm praying for weeks not months...

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 17/04/2012 22:58

Home from football, just about to pack my back to take to hospital...
A quick google has told me they won't induce and send me home cause I would need continous monitoring. Great. Oh well, if I get to meet my baby tomorrow, I guess its not the end of the world :)
If baby is born and clearly not overdue though, oo, they'll hear some I told you so's from me!! Grin

still has 11 hours overnight to go spontaneously...
