Hi all,
Hoping to snare a few of you who has just found out the great news like me, to share the journey and have a big moan about all the lovely effects pregnancy has on us!
It's no.2 for me!

blackcurrants · 14/05/2012 20:44

So far today I've eaten some peanut butter on crackers, two oranges and half a lemon Hmm and then a relatively normal few slices of chicken breast on a salad.

And then another orange.
OMG ORANGES ARE AMAZING! No idea what the citrus obsession is all about, but apparently they have lots of folates so that's good, right?

Just had a cuppa tea. So much work still to do. So tired! Times like this working from home is good and bad. Good because yay trackie bottoms! bad because I could just nip upstairs and sleep... apart from no, I can't! I must WORK! Deadline tonight...

CODwidow · 14/05/2012 20:49

I've had porridge and a fat free yogurt for breakfast, ham toastie and salad for lunch, iced doughnut Blush and homemade chicken curry for tea. That's not too bad is it?? I just seem to be expanding all of a sudden and still only 9+5

Bellaboo123 · 14/05/2012 21:08

Evening all...Smile

Has anyone else got a really itchy belly?

ivanapoo · 14/05/2012 22:24

I've eaten HORRENDOUSLY today. Meals themselves were healthy but snacked on loads of sweets, Jaffa cakes and a jam donut Blush - felt really sick so was trying to eat my way out of it.

Does anyone else have post nasal drip? Constantly having to clear my throat/ swallowing what feels like loads of mucus, with little respite. If anyone has found a way to get rid of it I would be seriously happy if you'd share it with me!

SeymoreButts · 15/05/2012 01:45

Hi everyone, sorry I've not been around for ages. The flight back to Sydney from London really took it out of me, and DS had horrendous jet lag for a whole week!

I'm so sorry to hear that some of us have had bad news, if you are still reading, I hope you're getting lots of support and hugs.

I'm 10+5 today and feeling so much better than I did, although still a bit queasy in the mornings. From weeks 6 to 9 I was in a terrible state with MS, towards the end I got very tearful and down, I couldn't stomach anything and rather than the usual pregnancy constipation I went completely the other way. My other 2 pregnancies were so much easier than this!

I've got my scan booked in on 26th May, I'm really looking forward to telling the DCs especially as I now have a bump. DS told me I've got a "big fat tummy and a big fat bum"!!! He's 3 though so I'll let him off.

mummycox did the midwife know you'd had 2 scans already? I think the scans would probably have picked up a twin, especially as they knew you'd had 2 embryos put back and would have been looking for it. Rest assured if there are 2 you will find out before the birth!

mwahmwah · 15/05/2012 09:00

Morning all, anyone taking cyclizine for morning sickness? Doc prescribed it this morn but i'm terrified to take anything!

cherrypiew3 · 15/05/2012 11:17

Morning,

10+6 today and its going slow. The ms was a little better since having the tablets from the doctor but then since Saturday night they no longer seem to be working and I am back to really struggling with the sickness again. I am really fed up and wish the weeks would just hurry up.

Mwah I am taking prochlorperazine for the ms and to be honest the way I am feeling I would take anything the GP throws at me.

Seymore Your ds sounds like my dd and she is 10 she keeps pointing out the ww adverts on the tele to me.Blush

Hope everyone is feeling ok.

CODwidow · 15/05/2012 14:21

Still waiting for scan date Sad

gilsbubbles · 15/05/2012 16:35

Scan tomorrow, im feeling like a kid. on Christmas eve. Im hoping that seeing my wee prune will make me feel this nausea isn't so bad.

PrunellaDeVille · 15/05/2012 16:40

know what you mean gils tomorrow is christmas eve for me. hope you get all you've been hoping for.

Clarella · 15/05/2012 17:35

Advice pls - dunno whether to go to GP or not. This banishment from work and normality, whilst to many (including myself) would seem a great time to put me feet up and relax, seems to be triggering lots of anxiety, mainly linked to work (suffered terribly from work anxiety in past and had to have cbt through doc for well over a year plus all day slow release beta blockers which of course can't now have) and now also general low mood, bordering on mild depression. Never told work just got through it though affected home life for a while. Go to gp or hang on to hope its just ups and doons of the worstrimester? Wondering if just worry going back to work when don't really trust how work has handled the situation or will in future. Grin and bare it?

CupOfBrownJoy · 15/05/2012 18:20

Evening all.

I haven't posted for a while as there's been a lot of stuff happening around work - I'm another teacher who has been signed off... Sad

Anyway, I have another more urgent worry at the minute. Warning, this might be tmi.... I'm 8+4, I went to the loo earlier and had some watery brown discharge. I'm trying not to worry, but I just wondered should I be worried? What should I do?

I went cycling this morning and I'm wondering if that might have set it off, its the first time I've been on my bike since I got my bfp.

I thought I might have a bath, put my pj's on and rest this evening, then call the doctor tomorrow. Or should I only call the doctor if I have more bleeding overnight?

Sorry - as I say, I'm trying to remain calm but I am a bit worried.

Was due to go for a run in the morning, but I think I might give it a miss just in case.

Thanks everyone x

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 15/05/2012 18:28

brown discharge shold be ok, esp as at 8+4 it is prob around the time your af would have been due and bleeding then is quite common. Try to relax and see what happens.

If you are very worried tomorrow phone the doctor, hopefully they can reassure you!

minipie · 15/05/2012 18:44

Cycling does sound like quite a likely cause, many women find their cervix becomes more sensitive and prone to small bleeds during first trimester - such bleeds are usually set off by sex but I expect a bike ride could do the same!

Chloe55 · 15/05/2012 18:49

Clarella I would speak to your gp. It might be they suggest someone you could talk to and will support you. Try not to focus on work at the moment (easier said than done). Don't try and grin and bear it, this will only make your anxieties worse as you will try and bury them. Speak to your gp, big unmumsnetty hugs.

Cupobrownjoy I seem to get a bit of brown discharge when I have had a particularly busy day at work-I wonder if it's my bodys way of telling me to rest? That's what I tell myself anyway.

Still nauseous here but not as bad as have been.

Good luck over the next few days for all you ladies getting scanned Smile

brooke89 · 15/05/2012 19:29

Cup I'd say it doesn't sound too bad and isn't worth worrying about (harder said than done i know!) Like mini said, it's probably the bike riding that set it off - Me and my partner went bike riding last weekend in Barcelona and back at the hotel I had bleeding, went for a scan today to check and all was good still so i think you'll be ok!

9+4 today and had another early scan- all was well and even saw little bean moving it's legs!! Midwife on Thursday and then will get a date for 12 week scan - can't wait to be able to start telling people now!

Hope everyone is feeling ok!

CupOfBrownJoy · 15/05/2012 19:34

Oh wow, thanks everybody! I've just got out of a relaxing bath and I do feel a bit better... If I have any more bleeding overnight I'll ring my gynae in the morning.

Now I just wish DP was being as supportive Sad

Clarella if it helps, I'm in a similar position to you. I'm a primary teacher and last week my gynae signed me off work for my ENTIRE pregnancy as it turns out I have no immunity to CMV. I have lots of guilt about it, but fundamentally there's nothing I can do, so I'm writing reports and planning for my cover teacher, and trying not to worry (well, until this evening!!)

Clarella · 15/05/2012 20:04

Oh heck cupof - yes that is a worry. Much more serious than parvo, so good you're off but I can imagine a bit of a shock. Do they screen for that? Hope all is well over night, fingers crossed spotting stops.

Thanks for advice guys, yes chloe, very practical which is what I need - think will try the doc in the morn, theres one who's treated me for prior wobbles, sometimes just a chat helps.

Wondering if all will be loads better after the scan next Thursday - all the best for those with scan day eve excitment nerves!

KMBatfink · 15/05/2012 20:10

Cup, I've been having bleeding on and off for a few weeks. Just had some more. Have appt tomorrow at epu to check all ok. It's usually only a small amount and generally (sorry tmi) when I've had a poo for some reason.

I'm quite worried but hopefully all will be ok. Haven't had any pain.

Could be the cycling but if you get any more it's worth ringing your gp just for reassuance if nothing else x

ExpatInCannes · 15/05/2012 20:14

Hope your all doing well.... My MS seems to be easing up a bit (thank god) but the tiredness is killing me... Especially as i work stupid restaurant hours!!

Just had a 'congratulations' text fromvmy BIL (after a phonecall from family friend) which has made me really angry as we only told the in laws on saturday and now half the world seems to know... They are very excited to welcome their eagerly awaited GC but i feel its myself and OH who should be telling people when we are good and ready... I couldnt imagine facing all these people if (god forbid) something go wrong.... FIL's attitude is theres no history of problems during pg on either side so therefore nothing can go wrong....

Sorry to vent but ive chosen not to tell anyone at this early stage so can only talk to you guys!!!! Rant over!!!

I hope you can all put your feet up and relax this evening!!!

Mummycox · 15/05/2012 20:59

Evening all,

Sorry to hear some of you are having a horrible time of it, big hugs to you all

seymorebutts she got a line and half from on me, complete with a wrong due date, from the epu and nowt from the clinic, I did tell her about scans and history but how much went in I don't know it was somewhat flustered. Quite happy to wait and see, one or two doesn't matter I'll be happy whatever the result!

Fish and chips for tea Grin

PurplePidjin · 15/05/2012 21:18

Expat, my gran did that to my parents when they found out about me! As a result, dp and I have quietly told the ones that are important to us and will be doing the Grand Reveal to the family on Saturday - I'll be 12+1 and it's her 91st birthday. She van then have a licence to shoot her gob off at anyone and everyone :o

My ms is retreating, but I'm on my second dose of flu in two weeks. I darent take anything just in case, so have been on my arse drinking lemon squash for four days. Must get into town tomorrow, it's market data and I need a Happy Birthday Great Grandmother card, plus the tackiest baby picture frame imaginable for her to put a scan pic in...

MyDaydream · 15/05/2012 22:41

Back in England after my holiday and feeling worse than I have since we left. Told DP we have to move to a warm country for the rest of my pregnancy.

We've not told anyone, and won't be until after the scan, because of how many people our families told last time when I had my MC. I kinda want to keep it this way though and just call them after telling them I've given birth.

Good luck to everyone having scans in the coming days.

Walnut8 · 16/05/2012 04:43

Hi everyone
I'm new - due around 10 December, will find the last list and add myself. Have just spent the last three days trying to skim over the December threads to catch myself up!
Very sad to hear all the recent losses, esp backward from the April BFP conception thread. I hope you are all getting lots of support.
I had a missed mc with my first pregnancy and am very very anxious to get past this first 13 weeks and have my next scan (and will then be an anxious wait for the 20 week scan knowing me!). Had a scan at about 9 weeks and all was okay but have had terrible cramps and stomach pains on and off esp last night. No idea what is going on or whether it's serious enough to contact anyone.
Am also struggling to cope already with a two yr old, who wants lots of affection and sometimes gets a bit rough without meaning to. She also still demands to be held to sleep in my arms which means lying right across my lower belly. Getting very uncomfortable and I'm not sure how to change this. Putting her straight in her cot has never worked for me, despite now trying for at least the last six months on and off.
We havent told anyone except our parents and my sister and brother. I think some people may have guessed though as I'm bloating right out already and am actually now online looking to order some maternity tights and jeans (it's winter where I am).
Sorry to hear about all the ms. Sounds dreadful. I don't generally seem to get much ms, just a bit of queasiness and terrible terrible hunger! The slapped cheek "epidemic" also sounds a bit scary. My obstetrician ordered tests for toxo and slapped cheek immunity with the 10-week bloods, so will be interested to see whether I have any immunity. Had the bloods taken yesterday and felt like she was drawing out litres!
