How's it going Mamma? Smile Sounds very promising - hope things are progressing for you Smile

All stopped! Everything back to normal and bump as lop sided as ever! I got quite excited there but hey, not quite ready yet seemingly. We're trying to get some shelves up in baby's room and it's proving much more difficult than necessary which is making me even more hormonal. Ridiculous!!!!! Big deep breath me thinks.

Mamma! Hope it all starts up again! Dh has told me the actual jubilee is on Tuesday (currently very gullible so that could be wrong... thinking about it, why were the celebrations yesterday?). How cool to have a jubilee baby?!

I have been abandoned on a deserted beach while dh and ds forage for food. Mning buried up to my knees, with a view out to sea. It would be peaceful were it not for the portly, large Essex family who chose to set up camp 20 feet from us. the entire beach is empty and they have to be there? Scum

Sounds like DH and DS are off having fun fools. How's DD getting on? Ignore the idiots who have set up next to you, you're obv trend setters! They're wallies.

Meant to be going to next doors for a little jubilee BBQ. Couldn't be less bothered to go right now. Not even had a shower today yet!

Well he had some, mixed in with my milk, he hated it, vomited everywhere, screamed for hours, didn't sleep, I think it's more it didn't like him, which is worse Sad now I'm really stresses cos what am I gonna do! I was really looking forward to not being attached to a pump for hours a day, oh well, in the pub now Smile hope you are all having lovely days Smile

Sad ellie I'm so sorry to hear that, maybe bun will have some tips for the transition? I know my sister's twins don't get on with cow and gate but do get on with Sma so it may take a little trial and error with the pre mixed cartons?

Report
AnchorBun · 05/06/2012 15:21

Oh Ellie that sounds so stressful! Sad It's a good idea to mix the bm and formula at first. What ratios did you do?
Like Trouble said babies quite often have problems on Cow and Gate, both of my DC have been fine on it so I'm no expert but have heard a lot of good things about Aptamil, and yes, SMA too. I'd suggest getting those little ready made cartons to try first, they're expensive to use in the long run but it saves you wasting money on a whole tub of powdered milk. Sorry, just realised Trouble has said pretty much the same!
If all else fails a trip to the doctors, they'll give you prescriptions for alternative baby milks because it'll likely be down to an intolerance to something in the formula (eg lactose).

Sorry, got to go now, but will be back on later. Good luck!

Thanks guys Smile we did 3:1 bm:fm for the first 2 bottles then 2:2 for the third cos that was all the bm we has left, I did wonder if he'd have problems cos I'm dairy free (so there is no dairy in my milk) and me and oh have all of asthma, excema and hayfever Sad but as he'd had some ff in nicu I thought he'd be ok, am gonna get some little cartons of aptimil and sma and if the same happens hv or dr. I'm hoping thy given out medical history they will be good about Letting me try some milk free formula!! Will deff try in daytime next though!! On out way back to a freezer full so am feeling a bit more relaxed now Smile

Just popping back to see if there are any new babies Grin. mamma those are sir great latent labour signs, it'll be any time now!

Also, DD has learned to sit unaided in the last week! Still a few wobbles but is sitting up proudly. I now have a very grown up giant baby - no more newborn snuggles Smile.

Wow well done Jools! Smile Lilly has the strength but not the balance yet, it's very funny watching her jiggle around trying to correct herself Grin It really hit me how much she's grown overnight yesterday!
Her lizard skin cradle cap is finally on the mend. The wonder cure? 'Simple replenishing rich moisturiser' Confused Two applications and it's nearly completely gone!

Am checking in regularly to see how you're getting on Mamma, sounds like you're doing wonderfully, I was such a whiner at this stage! Grin Good luck!

Well done jools. aaww could we have a photo update on her sitting up?

Due tomorrow and absolutely no sign of anything happening. Not a tiny bit! Not feeling bad really but just impatient. Even if I'm 2 weeks late I'd love to just know that rather than second guess each day as it goes by. I have my midwife app tomorrow so will see what happens. We stuck the woodland theme decal up in the nursery yesterday and it looks amazingggg!!!!! Took hours and hours but we did a great job. There's a bit tree, a fox, 2 squirrels and 4 birds around the room. We're both so chuffed with it.

I'm building up my reusable nappies today. Could anyone give me any advice on how they went about this with new babies once the muconium was gone? Ie, boosters/fleece liners/paper liners etc? Were boosters necessary from the start?

Report
ghosteditor · 06/06/2012 10:55

You should be able to see this photo of my cheeky monkey sitting up and grabbing her feet Grin. Please ignore the building work in the background!

Ooh nappies! We sometimes use bamboo boosters at night but they're quite thick and were making the nappy gape at the legs and leak, so we're waiting until she's a bit bigger.

Sending lot of labour vibes Mamma Hope you don't have to wait as long as I did Grin

How are you getting on McKayz?

We're off to Cannon Hall Farm today, so will no doubt be getting wet! Although we managed to avoid the rain yesterday when we were at Lotherton Hall, so fingers crossed we can avoid it today as well Grin

Ghost She is such a cutie pie!!

I feel terrible as usual. Sorry TMI but I seem to spend half my life on the toilet. I rang NHS direct over the weekend and they are pretty sure its just due to late pregnancy but its been going on almost 2 weeks now. So I am not as convinced really.

38 weeks tomorrow!!

Sad McKayz sorry you're feeling so bad. Get an appointment with your GP if you feel things aren't right, always best to be sure Smile

Getting in the photo zone, I've uploaded a few recent pictures of the DC onto my profile if you fancy a snoop Smile I love looking at people's photos! Grin

She's a chunky little monkey but can be rather cute Grin. I know it's cliche but I genuinely can't believe how quickly time has gone by. She's enormous now and a proper little person!

I tend to use the app so can never see photos, but we use Flickr to share photos with family. It's usually locked as invite only but I reduced the security on that one Wink.

Try this one and this one for more cuteness Grin.

ooh - cute photos!! I love nosing at other peoples photos (especially when babies are involved!!) I've popped a few recent photos of Odie on my profile too for you all to nose at in return! Wink

ghost aw, Jools is just gorgeous! I love her cheeky tongue out smile! How cool that she's sitting up already! It's true what everyone says - they grow up / change so fast!

bun ooh Lilly's cradle cap is nearly gone - yay! Odie got it in his eyebrows - made him look like a mad professor!! Great photo of the three of you! Lilly definitely has the best pout!! Grin

mamma ooh your nursery sounds fab! Fingers crossed things get started again soon!! :)

I was going to post the other day but the bloody meter reader hammered on the door and woke poor Odie up with such a start I couldn't get him back off properly. :( I'm one handed on the laptop today, with Odie half asleep/half feeding on me (so cute!)

Can't remember if I posted about this before but I am back on my strong arthritis meds!! With any luck i'll be back in full remission in a month or two - and tbh it's not too bad at all anyway - stiff fingers and an achy back/hips - nothing I can't handle! My creatinine levels are still a bit raised (from the pre eclampsia) so i'm getting extra blood tests, but they aren't worried. Plus my anaemia is all gone - hurrah! All in all it's going very well!

Now we just need the sunshine to come back!! Is grey and damp and thoroughly meh here today! I demand the return of the lovely summer weather!!

Ellie I am seriously considering begging the MW for a sweep tomorrow. I am pretty sure they won't do them until I am actually overdue.

I do feel bad for whining but I feel so crap that I just can't wait to give birth. Sad

mckayz don't feel bad, whilst I wish jake hadn't needed intensive care and was breastfeeding like a pro I could not have coped with being pregnant much longer, neither could my oh!! If you need anything/ wanna meet for a moan it is way easier for me to get to you now and I am always grateful for a reason to leave the house!!
