Right..let's get this sorted out, I can't stand the 'silence'!
bun how are you all doing? Is your DS still enjoying nursery and are you all still giddy with happiness from Lilly's scan?
fools, did you get ill again? Still missing your drawings! Smile
ellie how is Jacob? Is the bf working out any better?
mamma how is the decorating going?
mckayz have you heard from the physio? How are your hips? Are you able to get a long bath during the day? That used to give me a lot of relief!
Hope Odie is still doing well trope and that your arthritis is being kind to you!
Where did you go today davina?
What have you been up to ghost?
I had post natal group this morning where we had a talk from a dental nurse who told us horrific stories and showed us pictures of children who had to have all their teeth removed at 3 years old!Sad then went out for a lovely pub lunch and a pint with some of the mummies and babies I see on a Tuesday for breastfeeding/under one's group then met up with an MNer for a coffee and just got home (after leaving at 10am) so we're happy but tired out and my boobs are like rocks as Fyfe doesn't feed as well when we're out as he does at home! Sure he'll make up for it now! Grin

trope · 17/05/2012 19:38

Hey all! Hands are still a bit rubbish and arthritis is grumbling generally, but it'll be six weeks (how the hell did that go so fast!?) next week and I'm seeing my rheumatologist on Thursday so am hoping to get the sign off to go back on my main meds (hurrah!)

Odie is doing great, we weighed him today; 12lbs!! (today is 5 weeks old exactly). We got fantastic news at the neonatology appt today, Odie tested negative for the auto immune genetic marker I carry, so he's not at increased risk for the related conditions! There's still an increased risk of developing crohn's and/or developing an auto immune condition of some sort, but this is still great (wonderful, amazing, fantastic) news so we are thrilled! Best of all, it's DPs birthday today and what better present could he have had? Grin He's had the day off so we've had a lovely day out in town and now we're home and having one of our closest friends over for dinner (take out Sri lankan curry, mmm!) Happy day!

Huge congratulations to bun on Lilly's scan results! Love your celebrations! :)

trouble sounds like a lovely day! I haven't braved any mother and baby groups yet, but think I might try next week. A mum I got chatting to in wagamanas the other day recommended a couple of groups not far from me so I might try one of them... I feel rather frumpy and messy still; my pre preg jeans don't fit so am wearing early preg maternity wear, it's not great for myself confidence, feeling a bit of a mess compared to the super slick hove mums, but I figure anyone worth knowing won't care right? I am really looking forward to getting back into regular clothes though...

Ooh, food/friend here, got to go!
(kicks tumbleweed hard and glares at it with my best scary mummy face!)

McKayz · 17/05/2012 19:43

Bun huge congrats on Lilly's scan!!!! Very happy for you!!!

Trouble I have to see the physio next Wednesday. Dr thinks I'll get crutches but I wonder if they'll bother doing anything with not long to go.

35 weeks today. I'm struggling quite a bit now. I can't wait to have the baby. I'm knackered and just feel now it'll be much easier with a baby than it is being pregnant. Plus one of the school mums has a 4 week old and I'm broody Grin he's so little. But I did wonder how I was meant to pick him up this morning! Doesn't bode well for when she does arrive.

I've got my growth scan next Friday too. I wonder how big she is now.

TroubleAndFyfe · 17/05/2012 20:17

Grin fab news trope! Grin so happy for you! Great weight too!! Fyfe is 11 weeks today and is a one stone baby! Grin
Sad mckayz sorry to hear you're struggling, is there anyone who can help you with the school run for these last few weeks? (you're going to have her really soon Smile)

MammaInTheMaking · 17/05/2012 20:50

A 1 stone fyfe! Yay for you trouble. Bet you're getting some good arm muscles carrying him about. Whenever I hold babies I find my arms ache so quickly, need to build them up Grin

That's REALLY brilliant news about Odie's results trope what a weight of your mind and a super present for your DH's birthday.

I'm 37 weeks today. Managing really well still and working at home has been a complete blessing. Have a support belt to wear on my commute to London tomorrow so I'll see what I think. Only weird thing today is I've noticed a metallic sort of taste in my mouth and the sensation of like a lump at the back of my throat. The sort of icky feeling rather than an actual lump. Not sure what this is about.... Hmm

Decorating is going amazingly thanks trouble. They're going to be finished tomorrow and the carpet and hard floor is coming next week. Just in the nick of time. Have felt the anxiety lift from my mind with this work being done. Before our hall was sooooooo crappy and grubby and now it's so lovely and fresh Grin

Am just watching 2 Greedy Italians on BBC2. Love these two!

TroubleAndFyfe · 18/05/2012 04:59

A one stone Fyfe who just beat his own personal record and slept for 6 hours solid! Grin!
Good to hear you're still managing okay mamma, really not long to go now, in fact you've now made it further than me! Grin Blubes is going to be here so soon! Have you decided on a name? Decorating sounds fab, well done! We still haven't started on downstairs, we keep having visitors at weekends so haven't had chance, we may be able to start mid June!Hmm we really need to get a date for the solid floor to be laid though (step dad doing it) as it won't be long before Fyfe is wanting to move around on it, especially of he is an early walker like me (9 months) the twins are both standing at 5.5 months Shock so not long at all! Better get our bums in to gear!

MammaInTheMaking · 18/05/2012 08:51

Walking at 9 months!! That's so early! Builders were round at 7am today to get everything finished up, they're so good, we totally trust them and they work so hard Smile . Well am sat on a train to Victoria, support belt on, feeling ok so far! Getting my hair done tomorrow, it's been about a yet since I had it properly done so am very GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin about it!

Happy Friday ladies, I hope it's a good one all round.

TroubleAndFyfe · 18/05/2012 09:58

My nephew and godson on my husband's side was walking at 10 months, will find out when husband was!

TroubleAndFyfe · 18/05/2012 10:31

11 months...mmm, better get a shuffle on!

MammaInTheMaking · 18/05/2012 13:13

hehe Fyfe's going to be up on those legs next week by the sounds of things!!!!!Wink!!!

TroubleAndFyfe · 18/05/2012 16:40

Is the support belt helping mamma?
I have a very sleepy baby today, he has been awake for about half an hour since 11.30am Confused

Davinaaddict · 18/05/2012 17:47

Good work Trouble Grin A much better way of starting a catch up than my rubbish attempt Grin
Shock & Sad at the teeth story, that's awful. Sounds like you had a lovely day though! Fab news on the 6 hours - that's great. Lauren is still sleeping well at night, but then fusses/wants milk most of the day, so I'm knackered. A small part of me wishes she would have more regular naps during the day, even at the cost of more night waking Confused Walking at 9 months! That's nuts Grin

Hi trope Nice to hear from you - fingers crossed you get back on the meds next week. So glad things are so good for you with Odie as well Smile We have a few Thursday babies here as Lauren was 7 weeks yesterday as well. I know what you mean about feeling frumpy though. My problem is that because of my previous CS, I've got a pouch on my tummy Sad But I'm determined to get rid of it, so I've been for a long walk today. Your scary mummy face made me smile - with the lovely smily face on your profile page, I find it hard to imagine! Smile

It's amazing how much you forget, isn't it McKayz Smile But of course it soon comes flooding back, once they arrive Grin

You might also want to build up your back muscles Mamma Grin All the rocking and swaying takes its toll! Great news about the decorating too - although you do realise that your waters will probably break on the new floor Wink

We just went to visit my MIL, SIL & niece yesterday. Had a nice day except the drive home when I had to beep at some idiot that decided he would pull out on me, then tell me to fuck off Hmm Charming! Today's been a tough one, so we went for a long walk, and rang my dad. Only thing is, I think I might have upset him as I told him we're having a BBQ on the jubilee weekend and asked him not to bring the kids so we could spend some quality time together Sad But we can't talk properly if they're around, and I don't trust them not to be so rough with DS that he gets hurt so we can't just chuck them into the garden Sad Oh well, never mind Sad

We've a quiet weekend ahead so hopefully I'll be able to catch up on some rest. Anyone got anything exciting planned?

McKayz · 18/05/2012 18:14

Davina I am actually quite worried that I won't remember anything about babies when she comes. DS2 is 3.5 and I haven't really had anything to do with babies since he was little. I was saying to myself yesterday 'support the head' as I picked up my friends.

MammaInTheMaking · 18/05/2012 18:42

Yes I think I'm going to have to build up some muscles fast davina! Indeed, it would be absolutely typical if my waters went on the new carpet. But hey ho, what happens happens. Baby coming is waaaay better than carpet Smile. Just got home and builders have tidied up and left. Walls are looking amazing, just got to stop myself from touching any wet paint.

trouble ideally think the belt may have helped with my commute today. My hips are def not painful and usually I'd be in agony by the time I got home.

davina totally understand that your dad must be feeling a bit bruised about the invite only applying to him, however you have your own VERY good reasons for it being that way and this may be the time he looks at why things are like they are... I hope you don't feel too bad about it?

Davinaaddict · 19/05/2012 11:47

McKayz - have you still got some baby books you can refresh your memory with? I panicked just after Lauren came along, so I got DH to dig out all mine so I could re-swot up Grin It might help to put your mind a bit at ease?

How did you go on avoiding the wet paint Mamma? Grin I do feel quite bad about not inviting dads kids, but I think it's the right thing to do Sad Apart from me not having to worry about DS getting, we can't really talk about how things are in Dads life when they are around - its not fair on them to talk about their mum in front of them, especially as its not very positive (but not nasty/bitchy) Sad Hopefully when I ring him next week I'll be able to explain better.

Today's been a busy one. I've got Lauren, DS and me all up dressed and breakfast, changed both beds, tidied the bedrooms, Dysoned all the upstairs and put a load of washing on Grin Lets hope the rest of the weekend is as productive Smile

Davinaaddict · 19/05/2012 13:38

To top off this mornings activities, I expressed a small bottle of milk and gave it to DH for him to give her. She wolfed it down and even held her own bottle for most of the time Grin I'm now having to top her up, but chuffed to bits that she drank it all and with Daddy Grin Now to start stockpiling for when I go out back to work Wink

TroubleAndFyfe · 19/05/2012 20:10

Lucky you re the bottle davina! Envy

Davinaaddict · 19/05/2012 22:06

Sorry! Blush How's Fyfe getting on with then? Are you still trying him with them?

TroubleAndFyfe · 20/05/2012 07:23

My mum tried last weekend but he still looked disgusted and upset. Oh well, at least I don't have to go back to work I guess, I don't need him to take one! Smile I keep thinking anyway that it's only 3 more months till he starts weaning so I'll be able to leave him with people soon with food, I don't really mind; it would've just been nice to have the option.
The reduced nappy changes at night are going well, I've been changing him at the 5am feed with no problems and last night he went from 9pm- 6.30am with a bamboo booster and the nappy could've definitely been wetter so happy with that. I feel much more rested for it! Grin

Davinaaddict · 20/05/2012 08:52

He obviously loves his snuggly mum feeds too much Grin It's sounds so quick when you say it's only 3 months til weaning! Have you thought about how you want to wean? We did baby led weaning with DS and it was brilliant for us as I'm very lazy Grin

TroubleAndFyfe · 20/05/2012 08:57

Yes, that's what I'm planning to do with him! Glad it went well for you. It does seem really quick!

Davinaaddict · 20/05/2012 10:33

Have you read the book yet? It's quite interesting and has some good mums experiences in it (a bit like on here!). My MIL found it a bit preachy but once she got into actually using it, she was surprised at how easy it was to do BLW. She was really sceptical at first Smile

Blush - just realised I sound a bit preachy myself, but I did find it was brilliant for us. And DS's first meal (as opposed to nibbly things) was chicken fajitas Grin And he loved it!

McKayz · 20/05/2012 11:30

Morning,

Davina I have just been having a read of the Mumsnet Babies book. I got DH a book that is written like a Haynes Manual. So I might give that a read too. I'm glad the bottle worked out well.

I have just been looking at DS2's red book and I decided to try and work out Baby's weight. At the 30 week scan she was on the 98th centile line and if she stays on there then she will only be 9lb 14oz. Not the 11lb the MW is worried about.

AnchorBun · 20/05/2012 13:14

We did BLW with DS too Davina only found out that that's what it called months later, we just went with what felt like common sense to us (others may feel differently of course Wink), turns out it has a label! Grin
Two months to go for us until weaning, Lilly was 4mo yesterday! Shock

We had a gorgeous day yesterday - went for a long walk along the sea front into Brighton, bought my wedding shoes, had a walk around the lanes and went for a tasting session at the bakery that's going to make our cup cakes for the wedding (so so tasty!).
Only bad thing was I got sun burn! Sad The first time in years I forgot to put sun cream on my weakling skin. Honestly, you'd think I'm a red head with how easily I burn and then go back to being white, never brown! I was in pain last night, very pink today with an impressive pink v-neck and 3/4s of my arms Blush

Hope you're all having a lovely sunny weekend!
