Aw thats lovely Mamma not bonkers at all Smile

McKayz · 27/04/2012 11:37

Mamma I had a bit of a wobble yesterday as Tea was due the same day as me. It's a bit strange knowing that except for being different sexes that is what mine is like right now.

Fools hope it's all going well.

MammaInTheMaking · 27/04/2012 11:38

Got a question about TENS machines...... anyone got any tips on where to get one from? See that i can hire or buy but i don't know enough about this to figure out whether 1 that's cheaper to buy than hire is going to be as effective...? Not too sure where to start with this.............. [confised]

TroubleAndFyfe · 27/04/2012 11:47

mamma that is so lovely! I'm still amazed every day when I look at my little boy! Smile
I bought this TENS www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0013HVNTQ
mckayz 3 RLT tablets a day - keep forgetting to say! Smile

TroubleAndFyfe · 27/04/2012 12:21

Woo hoo! Size 10 jeans fit! Grin

Davinaaddict · 27/04/2012 12:22

Fab news about Lily, Bun That really gives me hope now, as I have a sleepy girl on me yet again still zzzzz. Did she do it gradually or just all of a sudden? I did manage all of about 15 minutes this morning to give me enough chance to take everything downstairs, sterilise the nipple shields and (amazingly) get some breakfast! And we had a similar nap yesterday evening, so I'm hopeful things will get easier Smile

But I think you need to bug trope more Grin It's very rude of her to have a RL Wink And I course she needs to know about fools, which gives you the perfect excuse for getting in touch Grin

No it's not bonkers Mamma Smile I suspect we've all felt it - I did, despite having DS, when Fyfe came along Grin
I got my tens machine from eBay and never bloody used the thing It cost me about a tenner. I'd lend it to you, but unfortunately I've promised it to my pregnant friend who's due at the same time as you. I'd recommend buying one if you plan on having more than one baby, as it will work out better value in the first place. I had the MamaTens My Time one hired from Boots for DS, and it was very good.

TroubleAndFyfe · 27/04/2012 12:29

Oh bollocks, they're an american 10 so a 12 really..still, better than the 14 last week, getting there pretty fast consider how much I'm eating and all the wine! Grin

ghosteditor · 27/04/2012 12:33

Wohoo go go go fools! [waves pom poms]!!

I rented an Elle TENS machine and it was something like £20 for 7 weeks. It was bliss and got me through the whole labour Grin.

Go go fools!!!

MammaInTheMaking · 27/04/2012 13:07

Thanks for the TENS advice. I figured i'd hire one this time as i don't know how much i'll use it etc. So just gone for the Elle one for 7 weeks (was a decent amount of hire time too). So another thing sorted :o

Well done on the clothes sizes trouble sounds very impressive to me!! Are you doing much exercise?

trope · 27/04/2012 13:12

Ooh, can't post properly right now, but GO FOOLS!!! :)

Promise to get on my laptop and post properly this weekend! We're off to register Odie's birth today, our first bus ride and trip into town; excitement! (also probably first attempt at public breast feeding - eep!)

Davinaaddict · 27/04/2012 13:33

X post Trouble - congrats! And very Envy although I'm a few weeks behind so I do have time to catch up Smile I started my wii Zumba last week. It's only 20 mins a go, but enough to start me off. Grin I've only managed it twice so far (and my pelvic floor still needs a little work Blush), but hoping to aim for 3 times a week, until I'm ready to go back to my class.

Have a good outing! Hope you're all well.

AnchorBun · 27/04/2012 13:36

Go Trouble! I'm putting off trying a size 14 for fear of disappointment Grin have gone down a belt notch though Smile the smallest I've ever been is a 12 though so will be very happy to be a 14!

Job done Davina (I texted Trope) Wink

Trope worry not, the registry office is a great place to bf, I've done it a few times and felt totally comfortable there Smile

TroubleAndFyfe · 27/04/2012 13:46

Aw, thanks people! Been doing lots of dog walking but nothing more strenuous! I only like swimming, walking and climbing!
Hi trope! Get your DP to take a pic of you bf, you really can't see anything I don't think. Hi to gorgeous Odie, looking forward to the update.Grin

ghosteditor · 27/04/2012 14:00

Ooh I like climbing too trope - went bouldering at about four weeks post natal and it was fun except I crumbled a bit when jumping down! I've been going regularly and it really helps to build strength which I need to lift heffalump DD! Unfortunately SIL fractured her ankle in three places while bouldering last week and it made me realise how tough it would be to parent on crutches!

foolserrand · 27/04/2012 14:16

I bought a miracle tens and its currently keeping me sane. I will never let it go now. The boost button for contractions is amazing! Not much to report on the baby front. Am heading to hospital soon.

Good luck fools!

I've ordered a few extras for Lauren's bedroom today Smile But looking for a nice toy box to match DS's but they're all bloody pink! Angry I hate pink so I'm after a more neutral one but can't find one I like, that's not clearly a boys one Angry Grr!

And one disadvantage of having a lovely snugly baby that only sleeps on mummy, is that when she's in a white baby gro, it's very easy to drop tiny bits of evidence behind when scoffing chocolate BlushGrin Oops!

McKayz · 27/04/2012 18:09

Fools I hope its all going well!!

Mamma I had an Elle Tens for both of the boys. You can get them on hire from mothercare but if you are planning on more children it does work out cheaper. I sold mine and I'm now considering hiring one just in case I don't like the pool.

AnchorBun · 27/04/2012 18:32

Woo hope everything's going well for you Fools!

I'm kind of thinking of shoving the wedding in aug and just doing it with the dc and a couple of friends as witnesses. DP has suggested it a couple of times but I just laughed it off but the guest list has expanded, MIL continues to attempt to interfere and the thought of having an audience for what I want to be a very personal ceremony gives me a sicky feeling. But then I'm worried I'll regret not having my mum and sister there, I really want the date we have booked (our 10year anniversary) and I'd feel awful telling people we don't want them there (we've already told people). Gah I feel like I've left it too late to change our minds Confused
Am going to have to sit down with dp tonight and discuss it I think, this just isn't 'us' iyswim, we're very private introverts! Grin

AnchorBun · 27/04/2012 19:05

Sorry, was typing what I was thinking, ignore me - far more important shenanigans occurring - c'mon baby Fools!

My pom poms are getting a bit limp with all the waving [groin]

AnchorBun · 27/04/2012 19:06

Shock Blush Blush Blush Blush

What a disastrous typo! It was of course meant to be a Grin

ghosteditor · 27/04/2012 19:24

Davinaaddict · 27/04/2012 20:38

Love that typo Bun Grin

And don't worry - fools is clearly far too busy to update us so feel free to rant Smile (Go baby fools!)

And bugger what ANYONE else says (including your MIL). It's YOUR day so you get to say what happens. And unless you've already sent out the invites, then it's not too late to change your mind. In fact, it's not too late anyway. Smile How about restricting it to immediate family only? Smile

foolserrand · 28/04/2012 02:59

Very quickly, Felicity Seren was born at 12.41 this morning weighing a hefty 8lb 13oz. She was a water birth with no pain relief other than the water (entinox and tens had been used until) and came out with her membranes intact!

Pretty sure I've escaped without tearing too as wees don't hurt!

OP posts:
TroubleAndFyfe · 28/04/2012 03:41

GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin hooray! Congratulations fools! Sounds like a great birthing experience, how exciting to have intact membranes too! Glad you're feeling alright too! Names sound perfect, Bear for Felicity! Grin

Davinaaddict · 28/04/2012 06:33

Congratulations fools! Smile What a fab birth! Thanks for you and a Bear for Felicity Grin Lovely name Smile
