Wow!!!! That's amazing fools GrinGrinGrin congratulations, that sounds like an amazing birth am a bit Envy hope you are having some lovely cuddles
looking after a baby is totally impacting on my MNing will have to have a word with Jacob cos if it like this when daddy is here I can't imagine what will happen when he goes back to workConfused

trope · 28/04/2012 11:27

tell me about it ellie - Odie doesn't do sleeping unless he's on me or DP, any attempts to put him down in his cot (or bouncy chair, or bednest or anything) results in screaming within minutes! (Plus he's really suffering from wind, so he needs a lot of attention/comforting as he gets super distressed when the wind bothers him). So the time I thought i'd have for sleeping/MNing etc is restricted by having him asleep on me - and he's so big I can't really reach around him to type on my laptop and I don't have the patience for one handed typing on my phone/ipad (my arthritis means my hands are clumsy - I spend as long correcting mis-hit letters as I do actually typing the right ones)! Not sure how i'm going to cook food/eat etc when DP goes back to work next week - suspect i'm going to be eating a lot of sandwiches one handed!!

Still - i'm hoping he'll be happy in a sling on me so I can at least free up my hands a little - I think my c-section wound has healed enough to cope with the sling if I tie it quite low at the bottom! Also, he has finally started sleeping next to me in bed at night - so long as I let him sleep on his side (yay for co-sleeping!) - so I can always go lie down in bed when he sleeps during the day and hopefully he'll stay asleep so I can sleep/MN in peace for a while! Grin

That all makes it sound like he's a difficult baby - he isn't - he's great! He just got really used to sleeping on me while in hospital and it's taking some time to get him happy sleeping anywhere else. Now he's co-sleeping next to me in bed I'm actually getting a decent amount of sleep - he wakes for feeds every 2-3 hours or so throughout the night, so i'm not actually that exhausted thankfully!

Am feeling pretty nervous about being home alone with him though, DP will be out for just shy of 12 hours a day when he goes back to work next week - it's going to be a big change having had him here 24/7 for the last few weeks. Still, it's exciting - our new normality is about to begin! Grin

elliebug · 28/04/2012 14:00

Oh trope you have described Jacob!! He will sleep in his pram or whilst being held but nowhere else!! He is really windy too, the nurses all commented on it, even when he was tube fed and asleep he still needed burping! OH suggested that maybe Jacob didn't like the crib cos it's much bigger than the cot in hosp and he doesn't feel as safe? Am going to make him a little nest for tonight cos I really need a good sleep!! Might try and have a napSmile

Davinaaddict · 28/04/2012 15:11

That sounds just like Lauren, tropeConfused She will only sleep either on me or DH (and not very often on him), or in bed with me. I get about 10-15 mins in a morning where she'll sleep on our bed while I potter around getting washed & changed etc but that's about it. I'm making myself a packed lunch for the days DH is at work so I don't have to worry about making lunch. I can literally just grab it from the fridge and promptly drop bits of it all over Lauren Blush. But it seems to work well so far.Smile I am dreading Monday though - first day on my own with both of them Confused

TroubleAndFyfe · 28/04/2012 15:41

Grin Fyfe (8 weeks) is just starting (last 4 days) to sleep in his bouncy chair or on his tummy on a blanket on the sofa (bad mummy) so hang in there! He has discovered daddy this week too and I'm getting loads of breaks! Grin
I have another bottle to try this afternoon in hopes of going out for dinner tonight for our anniversary tomorrow! FX!

AnchorBun · 28/04/2012 16:43

Yup Lilly was exactly same too! Windy and clingy. It very rarely lasts Smile lovely to hear all of the thread babies are doing so well!

TroubleAndFyfe · 28/04/2012 16:57

It worked!!! He's drunk an ounce from the bottle! Grin we're going out for dinner tonight now and he's going to granny's! Yay! Smile

Davinaaddict · 28/04/2012 17:14

Yay! Have a lovely night out! Happy anniversary for tomorrow GrinWineThanks

foolserrand · 28/04/2012 19:29

Trouble! That's fantastic news! Well done Fyfe. Hope you have a lovely evening!

Ds is still a mummy's boy, but he used to be really terrible. Nobody could hold him, settle him, etc without him screaming for me. He's now sociable and outgoing toddler so there is an end.

We got home at 6am. Just in time for ds to wake up. He is most impressed by Fluff. Am still on quite a high from the birth, which is great as am absolutely shattered... obviously. It's been a really easy day though, just sitting down, feeding and cuddles. Very snug and idyllic. Will upload photos soon.

elliebug · 28/04/2012 22:06

Sounds like a lovely day Grin I really need to get on pc to see all these cute babies and show of my own!!

TroubleAndFyfe · 29/04/2012 15:41

Quiet here! We had a wonderful meal out last night, Fyfe didn't need any milk whilst we were out and was a happy boy. He's been marvellous to us today too, let us sleep until 12 and sat happily in his car seat whilst we went out for breakfast! He's now asleep on me watching rubbish on TV and eating chocolate whilst DH is making beer in the kitchen, lovely anniversary! Grin

TroubleAndFyfe · 29/04/2012 15:42

Oh yes...Draw something people! Smile

Evening Trouble! Thrilled you had a lovely evening and anniversary today. Have done a few pictures today, but am going to have to learn how to draw with a nursing child. God, she's a guzzler!

Ds is a very proud and loving big brother. If she so much as whimpers, he runs off to find one of her cuddly toys and makes it sing and dance for her. I wonder how long that'll last!

She looks like me! I mean the spitting image of newborn me! :o Ds is like a mini dh so now we each have a clone. Will attempt to upload some photos of her soon. Um.... I've been trying to write this for ages and its painfully disjointed so I'm going to give up.

How cute of your DS! Smile

foolserrand · 29/04/2012 23:11

Ok, have added the one photo from my phone. Quality isn't great and she was only 5 hours old. Will get some more up when I get the laptop to behave with my camera. Still can't believe its all over. :( May hop back over to the ttc thread :o
