The one where Trope has her baby, possibly the rest of us too!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
foolserrand · 21/04/2012 19:48

I have great news! I found my camera! Well, technically, dh found it. In the downstairs lav. While I sobbed pathetically into a pillow. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to why it was there? I'm fresh out of ideas. :o

Mamma, which pram did you go for in the end? Very glad you like it! I don't have one for this baby. Have an awesome off roader for ds and a wrap for bump who is in my bad books because I can't flipping evict it but no pram. Is that going to be a problem do we think?

Right, I am going to go and walk the big dog. He's bomb proof so I can walk him knowing he won't chase after anything and so big and scary looking, nobody bothers me! :o

OP posts:
Davinaaddict · 21/04/2012 20:48

Haha - I think there are far too many possible dodgy answers for why it was in the downstairs lav, fools Grin

Hope the walk helps with the eviction!

Good news on the pram front Mamma I remember how much fun we had working out how ours worked when we got DS's. Smile

So we've spent today with the family generally chilling out. Lauren spent pretty much all day sleeping so it's going to be a loooooong night I suspect Sad We're off to bed in a minute in the misguided hope we'll get a bit of sleep Confused But the good news is I also forgot to pick up my nipple shields from the microwave before we left so we've had all today's feeds without them Smile Fingers crossed we'll manage to lose them now, but they're on standby just in case. Last time we tried, we managed 24 hours before I caved, so we'll see how tonight goes. Oh and also Lauren was ridiculously close to rolling all the way over onto her front today - at 3 weeks! Confused I suspect we'll have to watch her like a hawk! It took Matthew months before he could roll over, so this could be a challenge Smile I know they always say that DC2 tend to develop quicker than first borns, but that seems a little excessive. And I think the sleep deprivation is seriously kicking in now Hmm Sorry for the random rambling Blush

Night night all!

elliebug · 21/04/2012 21:13

davina that is vet impressive Smile
Come on baby fools here is a Bear to tempt you!
Jacob has managed a few mins feeding today, he can latch but seems to be lazy sucking, however, I have to express first so he doesn't drown so maybe he just doesn't need to sick hard? I couldn't express anymore off after he had finished so that must be a good sign. I'm only supposed to offer boob twice a day but he roots almost every feed! so I'm totally doing my own thing also, he passed his hearing screening and had his first bath! GrinGrin

AnchorBun · 21/04/2012 23:04

Aaarghh! Just lost a massive post!! Why does that only happen with big posts?? This is going to be a very poor catch up now I'm afraid, don't have it in me to do it again.

Ellie I can't believe how well you and Jacob are doing! Well done!

Trope Odie is amazing! Beautiful pictures Smile

Hope you're feeling better today McKayz

Davina and Fools, it's definitely tough with two, there's that constant feeling of guilt that you're not doing enough with either of them. Two children crying at the same time is hard! As long as DD isn't in too much distress I'll try to meet DS's needs first in an attempt to avoid him resenting DD for getting all of my time. Obviously it's not always possible though...
Reading/singing/talking with DS whilst I'm feeding Lilly works quite well or just distracting him with something fun he can do by himself like play dough, drawing, jigsaws etc whilst I have to deal with DD.
Also, I keep things like wipes, clothes and dummies where Oliver can get them because he loves helping me out and being 'a wonderful big brother looking after his little sister' Grin
Don't worry though, you'll find your own ways of making it work for your family Smile

Trouble, so glad my ramblings helped your DH! Hope you have a lovely time with your PIL's and you both manage to relax a bit after all of your amazing hard work!

Fools I dread to think why the camera would be there! Grin You're going to go into labour tomorrow, I have a feeling fact.

Ghost, Fools and Davina thanks for your kind words, you're lovely Smile Breast milk's all gone as of last night, feel a bit Sad about it but on the whole happy I persevered as long as I did.

Have decided I'm going to call for an appointment with the Dr on Monday - big deal for me, am shite at talking about my ishoos. Actually sat down and had a proper talk with DP about my depression last night (first time I've done that with anyone) and realised that I've been depressed for the majority of my life. Boy can I slap on a smile!! Anyway, it was very emotional but therapeutic so a good start I think.

All 4 of us are suffering with a cold bug. Fun!

Well, that was quite long after all! Sorry if I've missed anyone out! I'm off for a Lemsip.

TroubleAndFyfe · 22/04/2012 08:29

You have done amazingly well with the breastfeeding bun and have given Lilly the best start in life, you should be proud of yourself! Smile Well done on talking to your DP about your depression and deciding to make an appointment, that must've been really hard for you. It's a great step forward though and a good time to get treatment as MH problems are understood better than ever and there are so many options that could help you. Smile

AnchorBun · 22/04/2012 09:14

[soppy smile] Ahh thank you so much Trouble you (and everyone else!) are really helping Smile Have ordered a journal so I can start writing it all out - my brain tends to flit from one thing to another not making much sense of anything, I can't focus well unless I write, does anyone else find this? Confused
So, I'll stop being a downer on our lovely thread Really feeling quite positive about it all today, like a weight's been lifted by just acknowledging the situation.

foolserrand · 22/04/2012 10:13

:) Hurrah for feeling positive today, Bun. You aren't a downer though. We are always here to listen. You did do incredibly well bfing and it sounds like Oliver is being an awesome big brother. That's what I plan to do with this one. Not sure he'll go for puzzles and stories much though. The child can't stay still!

Felt very unwell last night, couldn't even take my turn in draw something with Trouble! Feeling much better today though, thank goodness. Am slowly seeing sense and trying to hold out until at least after the post has been tomorrow to go into labour because my fucking TENS machine hasn't arrived yet. Dh has, in response to this, banned me from dog walks and insists I spend the day sitting down, doing nothing and I'm painfully bored already but lacking the energy to complain.

Anyone able to entertain me today is more than welcome!

foolserrand · 22/04/2012 18:35

I hate you all. Angry Not one person talked to me all day! How very dare every single one of you have real lives?! I ended up making a complete ly gorgeous Sunday lunch to stave off boredom. Grr. Angry

OP posts:
TroubleAndFyfe · 22/04/2012 18:44

Grin aw fools! You poor thing you! PIL have just left, had a great time and now I'm free again! Sorry! How has your day been? What did you make for lunch? Smile

foolserrand · 22/04/2012 19:19

Grin all forgiven! I'm far to desperate for love to stay mad Grin

Thrilled the pils had a fab time. Is that the first time they've met Fyfe? What do they think of the house renovation thus far? Oh, and Trouble, where's my upskirt?! Grin

I made mashed potato, stuffing, assorted veg because dh is a fussy pain, roast chicken and proper gravy from scratch. am very pleased as it was my first roast. The chicken was juicy and melt in your mouth, the spuds had not a single lump, and the gravy.... Oh my god!

I have a draw something dilemma. Now, I know I am not the best artist (thanks to all who persevere!) but I at least try to make things recognisable. Playing against my cousin who I don't much care for tbh, she's a decade older than me and whines and is precious and I want to duct tape her fucking mouth shut because she doesn't stop moaning and she is a fucking idiot. She can't guess simple things like teeth and then, whilst attempting to draw the American flag, put the blue box in the top right corner, did red stars and red, White and blue stripes over it. That was a good picture. Floss was beyond the pale. Anyway, how do I politely drop her? Am playing other cousins via facebook so she will know if I lie but she's soooooo bad! I don't want to play her! I suppose it's similar to "how do I delete family from facebook without hurting them or closing my account"? I've hidden her from that, but I can't ignore her on the game.

I hope this bleeding tens machine arrives tomorrow or I will get cross.

OP posts:
AnchorBun · 22/04/2012 19:22

Oh no! Sorry Fools. I promise I don't have a life, I slept most of the afternoon Blush and then had an Indian take away for dinner Blush Blush

Thanks Smile DS used to be like that too, couldn't keep still, has calmed down a lot in the last 6 months thank God

Tomorrow it is then! Grin

AnchorBun · 22/04/2012 19:28

X-Posts Fools. That roast sounds lovely! Envy

I have a similar problem on Draw Something, they keep on writing descriptions for everything! Not one picture Confused Haven't been on it for too long now, sorry. I'm getting my own iPhone soon though, finally(!) so I'll probably be on it too much very soon Grin

foolserrand · 22/04/2012 20:00

Bun that sounds lovely too! Sleep.... I think I remember that. Very glad my new hot pink kitchen has a dish washer after the mess I made!

Ugh, I wish she used descriptions, unfortunately I fear she has not yet grasped the English language.

Ds came out with another corker tonight. "Mummy, what is that thing in your ear? And there's one in the other ear too!" "They're called earrings dear" "earrings! To hold your ears?" "not quite, ds, they just make my ears look pretty" "oh. thats dumb."

OP posts:
AnchorBun · 22/04/2012 20:41

Haha brilliant! Sounds like he's inherited your way with words Grin
DS made me laugh the other day, I said "What you doing ollie" and he replied "I'm busy sitting down, lot's of jobs to do!" Confused and earlier I said "Urgh I need to wash the dishes", DS said "no mummy! Daddy do the dishes!" Grin

Hot pink kitchen? Love it. I miss having a dishwasher, don't have the space here or for a tumble drier Sad

Your cousin sounds uumm, interesting? Grin

foolserrand · 22/04/2012 21:05

I don't know what you mean! Blush Think it may be the age, Ollie does sound lovely, and he knows who does the dishes, good lad! I sacrificed my tumble for the dish washer and swapped the washing machine for a combo which I hate

So... I have had the most unpleasant day. Dh has behaved like a stupid small toddler all day. Glad ds doesn't do tantrums as the big idiot does enough for both of them. Sad One tiny thing and he's had a sulk on all day. He even stormed out of the house when I asked him to sort himself out. SadAngry

Have a backup birth plan now with him not in it Sad because I don't trust him. He wasn't this person when we met, I worry it's our family life that he's unhappy with sometimes. Sad

Ah, fuck him. Sorry, didn't mean to moan. Right, back to the pencil game!

OP posts:
TroubleAndFyfe · 22/04/2012 21:11

Really hot pink kitchen?! Grin wow! I would never get away with that! Well done! PIL had a great time, was the first time they'd met Fyfe and they'll see him next in August, it's a shame they live so far away as they are lovely. We're going to get them a webcam do we can Skype regularly! Thy loved the upstairs of the house (the done bit!) thought it was gorgeous. Smile
Your dinner sounds like a good one.
Love your DS's earrings comment! Grin
With your cousin, can you just lower your effort with her? Don't strain yourself to guess, if it isn't obvious then just lose the game, do simplistic drawings for her so you're not wasting your time and it'll not be very interesting for her so hopefully she'll give up!? Your drawings are super though, I do hope you're joking about them not being? I assume you did art?
Yay bun! So glad you're getting an iPhone, more drawing! Grin

TroubleAndFyfe · 22/04/2012 21:15

X posts, wasn't just being insensitive! Sorry DH is being a knob not acting like a grown up fools, hope he does sort himself out soon!
I feel quite lucky now, I have a dishwasher and tumble drier! We put the washing machine with a drier on top in what used to be the airing cupboard upstairs to fit it all in, I've never had a drier before - bloody luxurious! Grin

AnchorBun · 22/04/2012 21:35

Oh Fools sorry your DH is being a pleb. Is he like that a lot these days or just in a bad mood? Hey, if I'm aloud to moan everyone is! Wink

Glad you had a lovely time with your PIL Trouble Smile

foolserrand · 22/04/2012 22:05

It's a regular thing. Inanimate objects thwarting him tend to bring it out. Unfortunately, he's thwarted often! Sad I feel sorry for the dogs, the cower from him when he gets in a temper. They just don't understand. Sad fuck him though, he's a cunt and I will not waste my energy on him. Not sure I'm going to be able to just let it go anymore without a serious apology. It's not behaviour I want ds to pick up on and copy tbh.

Argh! Was going to type some glorious other bits but have totally forgotten them because he's just moaned at me about something else. Angry I will kick him in the nuts soon and send him to his mum's. I am in no mood to put up with this shit.

OP posts:
TroubleAndFyfe · 22/04/2012 22:10

Sad that's really shitty and really not what you need right now. What a twat. Sad

AnchorBun · 22/04/2012 22:46

Gosh that doesn't sound nice Fools Sad I hope things can get sorted soon, it's not the type of thing you want to have to deal with with you DS and a new baby to think of. Do you know what you're going to do/say?

ghosteditor · 22/04/2012 22:46

Hey ladies, I've read and sympathised with all the posts but I'm just too drained to respond. Sorry for being rubbish.

We haven't been having a fun weekend either really; DH is going to the middle east tomorrow for two weeks and it's awful thinking that he won't see DD during that time (plus he's only back for three weeks before another month away Sad).

I may have mentioned SIL and her eating disorder before; she's getting loads better which is great, but she injured herself exercising last week (random and not because of her disorder) and it didn't look right so we took her to hospital yesterday. She had surgery today to fix her ankle as it was broken in three places Shock! She'll have to stay in for a few days and wasn't prepared for that when she turned up at A&E...

So we've been visiting and collecting her car from the sports centre and making plans for her care etc. poor girl. She was also going to baby sit for us so we could celebrate our wedding anniversary. So all in all it's been a kind of shitty weekend Sad.

TroubleAndFyfe · 22/04/2012 22:53

Sad sorry to hear that ghost, hope your SIL gets better soon, what shitty timing too Sad

elliebug · 22/04/2012 23:03

Ah fools I'm sorry I have spent today beating myself up for being a bad mummy. Jacob is clearly not a boob man, I was getting really stressed about the whole thing so we decided to try him with a bottle, he drained it and 2 1/2 hours later he is still rooting!! And no milk comes out of his dummy Sad am soooo relieved I've made the decision and I guess it doesn't really matter how he gets it. OH took over a litre home to freeze today Hmm maybe I should sell it! Sorry this post has taken about 3 hoursBlush hugs to those who need it and hope the TENS machine arrives before the baby Smile am going to try and sleep before 1am bottle zzzz

elliebug · 22/04/2012 23:05

And I've missed loads, sorry guys Sad
