Oh how lovely ellie! Congratulations and look after yourself and little Jacob Grin

TroubleAndFyfe · 14/04/2012 20:11

Congratulations ellie! Grin gorgeous name! GrinGrinGrin

AnchorBun · 14/04/2012 20:48

< BONG! >

Trope has had to have a blood transfusion Sad so is having to spend at least one more night in hospital. But she's enjoying lots of lovely fuzzy cuddles Smile

Ellie sorry to hear Jacob (oh such a lovely name!!) was moved to intensive care, that must have been scary for you and your OH. So glad that he's stable now though and that you've enjoyed some lovely cuddles with him Smile How are you getting on with expressing?

elliebug · 14/04/2012 23:54

trope hope you get home soon and you're feeling much better Smile
Jacob is now breathing by himself, blood sugars are more stable and he is starving!! After being told by a stern nurse 'we don't give dummies to bf babies' we went back to find him sucking hard on one cos he was protesting loudly at not being fed!! Bless, have managed to express 1.5ml Woop Woop which he will be allowed in the morning if he does well overnight. I have finally got some proper strength co codamol (think a man prescribed the first, pathetic, dose I'm feeling much better. Just want my little boy with me Sad am going to try and grab a few hours before my 3am checks zzzzz

TroubleAndFyfe · 15/04/2012 03:16

Glad you've got some decent pain relief now ellie and hope you got some sleep! I can't imagine how difficult it must be being separated from Jacob. Sad well done on expressing 1.5 ml, that's really impressive (hooray for your leaky boobs now!) have they given him anything yet or are they waiting to give him your bm? Great that he's so keen! Grin

elliebug · 15/04/2012 07:18

Thanks trouble OH is printing me some photos and I'm determined to get some skin to skin today. I'm slightly bemused as my boobs have gone from gross to amazing!! Oh well, I guess it's ok for them to leak now!!

foolserrand · 15/04/2012 08:52

Hurrah for Jacob! Hopefully, he will be with you soon, ellie. Awesome job with the expressing too. How are you feeling now? Can't begin to imagine how scary that would have been for you yesterday. Why did they need to get him out? (I'm being nosey, feel free to tell me to sod off!)

Bad news for Trope though. Hope your levels are vastly improved today and you can all go home. Until then, I hope you've had many pizzas, fish n chips and other yummy meals snuck in for you! Really can't wait for you to update yourself because then we get photos.

So, I'm next? Actually, I do hope so after a quick stats check. Have been having a nose through the inducing labour threads. Am not even at 39 weeks yet, perfectly comfortable considering, significantly not ready and am fairly sure none of them work but why not give it all a whirl, eh? Who knows, some of it could be fun :o ! Any suggestions for something to try first?

Did have a dream last night (I never remember my dreams) where I was already a few cm diluted. Obviously I'm not or I'd feel it but still a nice dream! Well, its lovely and sunny here so shall be taking the dogs out for a long stroll soon, assuming dh brings me some decent dog treats back from the shop as my little girl pulls at times so I won't take her currently without bribery!

Spent a little while yesterday on the Debenhams website, looking at the pretty dresses. Would strongly recommend you hand over all forms of payment to a hard nosed loved one before going on there. I was actually looking for a "homecoming" outfit as its important to my mum, who will be at ours when we get home. Did anyone else bother? Not sure I would if it weren't for her.

fools, wohoo for being next!

trope you're really going through it hey? Hope your results pick up soon so you can go home...

ellie way to go on expressing. I'll never forget having to express colostrum because DD slept for 6 hours on her second day (normal but in hospital they have a policy not to let them go longer than 4 hours). DH had to catch the drips in a tiny syringe and I thought 'yep, that's it, our relationship will never be the same again!'

fools re going home outfits - in my experience, a lovely baby grow is best; that's all you'll want to put them in at first. Just because outfits are made small doesn't mean they're really suitable - buttons/poppers down the back aren't good for tiny babies, fiddly clothes will upset them, socks fall off so things with feet are easier, jeans aren't soft enough for littlies etc - baby grows are the way forward for tiny babies! Dd had a lovely mint green baby grow in
'tiny baby' size (up to 7.5lbs, which she fit as they're so curled up at the beginning) which she wore, and I've kept.

elliebug · 15/04/2012 09:24

I'm just a bit sore now, they think my placenta had started to fail which meant Jacob wasn't getting everything huge needed and so stopped moving so much. Apparently it's quite usual give my medical history!! Once he was out I was much happier about the whole situation, guess I'm used to babies with lots of tubes but I think OH was a bit shocked my how many there were (oral feeding tube, breathing support in nose, cannula in hand and arterial line in umbilicus, also apnea monitor, heart tracing and oxygen level probe) ok, that is a lot when you list them!! But at least now when he's still I can see he is just asleep and nothing worse!

elliebug · 15/04/2012 09:37

Everything HE needed

foolserrand · 15/04/2012 10:22

I was thinking a baby grow and a knitted cardie my gran made for ds. It was pink and he was such a boy it would have looked daft so we didn't use it.

Christ on a bike, ellie. Am so relieved you took yourself in on Friday if that's the case.

TroubleAndFyfe · 15/04/2012 10:37

Good to hear you sounding so bright ellie! The photos will be good and should help with expressing too if you need to do more?
How're things with you trope? Sounds like a rough ride you've had, hope fuzzy's been looking after you? are you actually going to call him fuzzy or are you going to tell us his name soon?

elliebug · 15/04/2012 14:48

Oh yeah 0.9mls!!!!! Although I can't do it myself so feel like a cowBlush my oh seriously suggested calling Jacob peanut as we couldn't pick a name so I think fuzzy is a fine name trope SmileSmile

AnchorBun · 15/04/2012 15:25

Hi all! Just a quick to say that Trope has had to have a second bag of blood earlier today as they don't do transfusions overnight. Her milk has come through and Fuzzy's got milky poo instead of meconium poo! Grin
There's still hope that they'll be able to come home if her teatime bloods come back ok.

Ellie fantastic news that Jacob's breathing by himself! Lovely to hear that you're both doing so well Smile Trope sends her best and loves the name too Smile

DP's about to take the kiddliwinks to his dad's for a few hours so I'm preparing my self for a hot bath with nothing but my Kindle for company Grin
...oh well DS has just announced that he needs a poo before leaving. Wonderful timing as ever...

Davinaaddict · 15/04/2012 21:45

Great news that fuzzy and peanut Jacob are doing well Smile

trope - really hope your results have improved and you're on your way home (if not there already)

ellie - Glad you're feeling better too. The photos will definitely help with the expressing. When I was back at work after DS I expressed for a couple of months and spend the majority of the time hunched over my phone looking at photos/videos of him Grin It really helped although made me miss him lots

So I think we may have solved the mystery of why Lauren won't sleep in her moses basket - it's not comfortable enough! She sleeps perfectly fine on people, or my bf pillow or our bed, and won't move for hours. Put her in the basket though and she won't sleep for more than a few minutes at night time! It seems to me, to be almost a case of the Princess and the Pea Grin Disclaimer I haven't actually put peas in her bed Grin

So straight into our bed, and I'm praying she actually sleeps tonight - last night was a rough one Sad Night all!

Davinaaddict · 15/04/2012 21:50

Ps for those of you that remember PiggyMad, she had a baby girl last Monday (I saw her post on one of the childbirth threads - am not really a stalker!) Grin

McKayz · 16/04/2012 07:32

Morning.

Trope I hope you are at home now.

Ellie Hope everything is going well this morning. Jacob is a lovely name.

I have just ordered nearly everything!! The cot, moses basket, bedding, stuff for my hospital bag etc etc. Seems all very real now. 9 weeks 3 days to go!!

Hospital this afternoon for my next growth scan and to meet the consultant. Wish me luck!!!

AnchorBun · 16/04/2012 07:47

Good luck McKayz! Smile

Hope you and Lauren managed more sleep last night Davina.

I've got to faff with DS's pre-school today - he's due to start this morning but the wom who's supposed to do does the admin never got back to me with the information they needed from us Hmm So God knows how it's going to pan out... Wish us luck too! Wink

AnchorBun · 16/04/2012 07:58

Ha! 'wom' = woman!

TroubleAndFyfe · 16/04/2012 08:10

Aw, good for piggy I wondered what had happened to her.
Well done McKayz! Not long now! Grin
Good luck bun! I don't think I'd mess with you! Wink
How was your night davina? Smile

elliebug · 16/04/2012 08:52

Good luck mckayz I meant to say that aftert growth scan I looked at where he was on the centile charts then looked in red book to see what he'd be if he was born now, scan was about 10 days before he was born and I was out by 20g!!! Worth a go if you've still got girl charts in DS red book, if not I'm sure one of us could have a look for you Smile

TroubleAndFyfe · 16/04/2012 09:05

Oh, is that where you find this mysterious centile info Grin

McKayz · 16/04/2012 09:32

Yeah the girls centiles are in the red books. I might go have a look.

How you feeling?

Davinaaddict · 16/04/2012 09:55

Good luck McKayz & BunSmile

It'll be like Christmas in your house soon McKayz Grin

We had a better night last night thanks - probably about the same time overall but lots of short wakening rather than hours at a time Confused We'll get there though hopefully before DH has to go back to work, although I know that's not going to happen

Any more trope bongs Bun?Grin

AnchorBun · 16/04/2012 10:48

Thanks! Grin

All went well, they had him down as due to start today so no problems, just have to try and get hold of this woman to give her all of our details...
DS was a little star as always and was happy as Larry (who is this Larry??) when I left insultingly soo! Grin]

Got home to discover I'd locked myself out - doh! - but DP came to rescue me in return for a chocolate bar Grin

Eventful morning!

No Bongs yet I'm afraid! Smile
