Early poas-er seeks other December 2012 due dates

I've just had the official confirmation from my digital clearblue test after many a faint line. I have calculated my due date as 5th December and conception started with a curry, how much information am I supposed to share? Boobs aren't sore yet, just a bit bigger. Have had a horrific cold/flu/sore throat for a week and I am very very irrational.

Anyone else out there?

Wow, speedy thread! Ginger biscuits to all the newly upduffed and easter eggs to those not feeling vommy.
I'm dreading the sleepless nights. I'm a wuss and really struggle without a lot of sleep. A while to go just yet, but am scared! No insomnia here, quite the opposite - I could sleep at the drop of a hat, but DD isn't being very conducive to that [bugrin].

soandsosmum · 08/04/2012 16:38

chickissimma I dreaded lack of sleep too before I had dd1 as I'm a 10 hrs a night person. Was!

I spent the first two weeks sleeping as much as poss when the baby slept, letting everyone else do the washing cooking and cleaning. It's hard to do, but getting a bit of sleep does really help.

Also, just expecting a lot less of myself helped too. I don't try to do too much in a day now, usually one thing like go shopping or go to the gym. If I do more than one that's great but I don't feel bad if not as its tiring looking after a small person 24 hrs

Hi folks. Can't quite believe I've just eaten one and a half Easter eggs - oops! Easter eggs + growing baby does not = pre-wedding slimming routine!
Strawberry - honeymoon to Italy all booked now although your suggestion of Antigua did sound fab! I think we just fancy playing it safe with "the lentil" (current size descriptor) on board.
Rosa - ha! Yes, know what you mean about fella sprinting into wine shop :)
Agree with everyone who is fearing the sleep deprivation phase of parenthood. I'm gonna be sleeping for England for the next 8 months to stock up!!
I think I'm going to book in for an early private scan at 8 weeks too - mainly for further "proof" to my fella that I'm not making the whole thing up!

KMBatfink · 08/04/2012 17:16

Yikes, I went to Italy on honeymoon and it was amazing! Where abouts are you going?

acjfluff · 08/04/2012 18:07

I'm glad I'm not the only one going to be getting married pregnant. Only problem is I'll be 7 months along...

My poor dp is stressing about my dress (thought that was my job)!

We're considering Italy for honeymoon too but that'll be dreadful so pregnant! Plan b I think :)

ItsMyLastOne · 08/04/2012 18:12

My DD is 18 months and has never slept through the night. A couple of weeks ago there were 2 nights where she woke up but I didn't need to go to her. But she's been ill since so been waking up 5-6 times. Hopefully she'll start sleeping through in the next 8 months. In a way maybe it's a good thing (bear with me) as I won't be used to sleep by the time DC2 turns up so it won't seem so bad! Wishful thinking? [buhmm]

clarey I'm a non-id twin and I've heard that makes me more likely to have twins. DP has loads of twins in his family too. With DD he was convinced I must be having twins due to my enormous belly but it was because I had the dates wrong and was 16+ weeks rather than 12 at the first scan. I'd also managed to put on 16lbs by that stage! [bublush]

batfink - Rome for 4 days then Sorrento (Amalfi coast) for 4 days. Not been before and can't wait!!
fluff - cool, another preggo wedding planner! Yes, I feel your (DP's) pain re the dress. I forked out a small fortune for a Caroline Castigliano dress and am dreading going for my final fitting later this month where I'll have to 'fess up. Am praying / fooling myself that I won't put on any weight but I think that's unlikely so have found a Plan B dress on the Tiffany Rose website. Bit gutted about the CC dress but then we'd been trying for a baby unsuccessfully for a few months and I told myself when I bought it that I would be so chuffed if I got preggo that I wouldn't care!! And hey presto :)

StrawberrytallCAKE · 08/04/2012 18:33

Yikes Your honeymoon sounds amazing! Think of all the amazing food you'll be able to eat, yummy!! There is something really lovely and romantic about getting married pregnant. Even though we'd had dd when we got married I obsessed about a maternity wedding dress I saw on Isabella Oliver, it's not on the site anymore but it was this one - isabella oliver dress

strawberry- the dress is gorgeous, I can see why you loved it.

What's it like having twins Clarey? Lots of them in our family too so there is a chance for us, although i'm not that sick at the moment and I have heard you are really ill with twins- was that true for you?

Trying not to think about the sleepless nights- I too love my bed! Guessing i'm due a sleeper this time as dd was not a great sleeper until about 2! (so hope for us all I guess!)

Italy is lovely, i'm so jeal!

ItsMyLastOne · 08/04/2012 19:15

My mum said she never had much sickness with us, wasn't showing, not many pg symptoms at all and was pretty shocked to find out she was having twins at 12 weeks. She also only put on a stone in pregnancy, went from 10-11 stone. [buenvy]

My dad is a twin and I said to dh the other night imagine if we have twins this time he did not look happy at the thought of twins.

Still have hardly any symptoms at the moment and finding myself thinking that I have got the test wrong and I am not really pregnant but after 3 tests all showing the same result I know I am just being daft. Going to make an appointment at the doctors this week so I can book in with the midwife.

BigRedIndiaRubberBall · 08/04/2012 21:36

hello all - welcome to those I haven't said hello to already. Also back from a wedding here, but I decided to just tell immediate family to avoid being an is-she-or-isn't-she distraction - and inevitably word spread and every other person I spoke to congratulated me. Ah well. My cousin, on the other hand, didn't tell anyone, including me, but I clocked her slightly laboured not-drinking-and-being-ever-so-tired excuses at five paces

BigRedIndiaRubberBall · 08/04/2012 21:49

Oh, also meant to ask - is anyone else getting really cold? Definitely didn't have this last time round, but in the evenings, I'm getting very chilly, brrrr.

Chloe55 · 09/04/2012 06:48

Well I have a chance of twins too as I have conceived through aided fertility, as has lauraloo so I'm guessing there def will be at least one double surprise on here Grin I also need sleep, have slept for about 40 hours this weekend and ds is a brilliant sleeper, always has been so I fear I'm in for an unpleasant sleeping pattern.

redbull yes I have been cold too but we are meant to be a degree or so warmer so I'm presuming it's just the change in environmental temperature?

I'm not the pregnant wedding cousin by the way-my cousin wasn't at the wedding I attended Grin

Past few days I have seriously had to keep vomiting at bay I wonder if today's the day I cave and give in to what my body's trying to do? (I have a vomit phobia Sad)

Have been having vivid baby dreams, there's hardly a moment in the day I don't think about my future now, where I'll be in such and such month. I just so hope I get there.

Chloe55 · 09/04/2012 06:49

Sorry, phone again bigredrubberball not redbull Blush

Clarella · 09/04/2012 07:13

Morning! May I join you here ladies? I was joining the Nov due date thread but actually I could be anywhere from 25th to 30th Nov so feel like I have more in common with the preggopeeps here - also very few symptoms which a few of you seem to be having? It's worried me a tad but the boobs still hurt so I presume all ok! I'm 6+5 today, 35 and its my first so apologies in advance for stupid panicky questions! I'm going to be classed as high risk due to thyroid, but I'm not particularly, though sometimes little miss Anxiety rules!

Also, anyone jog in preg? Any advice?

I have to say that prior to ttc I was pretty clueless about weeks etc so when people at weddings / parties said they were driving I believed them! Its getting a bit embarrassing at yoga tho!

Xx

cluelessnchaos · 09/04/2012 07:20

Hi everyone , dh still offshore so I haven't talked to anyone face to face. I keep nearly letting things skip to the kids though. Dd1 is 14 and would be amazing but was very upset when I was bleeding with ds2. I don't want to cause her stress, particularly as I am probe to bleeding but I'm so crap at lying.

soandsosmum · 09/04/2012 07:27

Running in pregnancy is fine I was told, as long as you were before. Don't do any strenuous training etc and if it hurts or feels wrong stop!

PrunellaDeVille · 09/04/2012 08:58

morning all,
big red i've been shivering pretty much constantly - i have to be superbly wrapped up before it'll stop, i've always been a cold person but this is extreme. i figure it's a reaction to ensure the baby is kept as warm as necessary.
running? how could anyone consider it with the sore boobs thing? i'm sure it's fine but ouch.

ItsMyLastOne · 09/04/2012 09:19

I've been cold too! I have been looking at DP like "what do you mean it's not cold, it's bloody freezing!". I don't remember this with DD.

in terms of exercise the general advice is carry on doing it if you want to, but don't take up strenuous exercise if you're not used to it. During my first pregnancy I was very active and did Pilates and yoga twice a week. You need to be careful with those, make sure your instructor knows your pregnant. Don't do exercises involving back bending or stretching your front much, and they advise against lying on your front for more than a minute maybe. I was very lucky that my yoga instructor also did antenatal yoga so she was really helpful.

I really should do yoga again, it made me feel so much better last time, and I often felt all hippy dippy like I was more in tune with my baby! Blush Grin

rosa7 · 09/04/2012 11:35

i'm freezing! but then, its 10 degrees outside. thinking of you all coming into summer and me descending into winter - but then, come november - hot hot hot, fat ankles and no where to hide them.

ohhh i am feeling so yukky in the tum - just achey and bleughhhh, very non-descript bleughhh feeling [busad]

big hi to clarella! its funny but i really felt with my DD the thread i was on was almost all first timers, and this one does seem to be 2nd, 3rd or more! we will be very good for alleviating panics for you Wink

oh and bigred - LOL at giving gollywog to charity shop!! Grin

ahhhhh, i'm all emoticoned out now..........
