Here we go again.......

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
NinjaChipmunk · 13/04/2012 21:27

My mat leave doesn't actually start till my due date of 27 June however I'm lucky enough to have a holiday year that runs april to april so have to take all my holiday before I go so finish on 10 May. So the first 6 or 7 weeks are all holiday which is probably why it seems to be going rather fast. I'll only be 33 weeks when I finish. Really looking forward to my holiday the week after though.
stacks very glad to hear your scan went well and you saw your little blob on screen. Awesome news. When is your next scan? Will it be before 12 weeks? What does that make your due date?

Grin massively at jens weird crushes. I'm sure we all have a few of those. I believe I mentioned my dream about Bruce Campbell the other day.....

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 14/04/2012 00:00

I am reading the thread but keep forgetting who said what Blush.

Stacks, yay for seeing a little blob! They were able to see Maia's hb at 6+5.

Grin at the weird dreams and celeb crushes.

Was it Scarlet and Jaggy having weird downstairs feelings/strong BH? We need some more babies on this thread!

M has been asleep for 2.5 hours but somehow I forgot to nap. Where did the time go? She's now going to wake up as soon as I try to sleep...

McPopcornMouseNFries · 14/04/2012 07:53

:o at all the awful celebrity dreams!

musicalmrs · 14/04/2012 08:20

Ooh no, confusion Scream and Wants! I meant 1/5 engaged in the pelvis, 4/5 palpable. I thought the fraction worked the same way as Popcorn and Stacks did! So, that makes me 4/5 palpable, so I'm in the same boat as you Scream. Wants is currently in the lead race wise! However Scream, it's worth remembering that Wants' LO can engage whenever it fancies as it's not a first child - would be nice for us first timers to have ours engaged soon!

Scream, it's been a lovely week! Chased the solicitors again, and got a call back late yesterday - completion has been set at the 27th, and they were trying to complete by the end of the day yesterday! Not sure if they succeeded or not, so will call them when they open in an hour or so (they don't have solicitors working at the weekend, but someone can check the case for me). If not, should complete on Monday - so we'll legally be houseowners soon, hurrah!

Wants, you are well and truly beating me, engaged baby wise! Grin. I also had a Pinard's Stethoscope used on me for the first time in my appt yesterday. I had a different MW (mine was on holiday) so I wonder if it's just different preferred procedures by different MWs? Either way mine still used the doppler so I could hear the heartbeat too - not that I'm so concerned about that now I'm being kicked/wriggled at constantly! We also need to do our birth plan this weekend - although we know what we want, we just need to get it down on paper.

Stacks, congratulations on the scan! The HCG level sounds fine - mine was ridiculously high ridiculously early on too (and there were people suggesting twins... but my DH was adament it wouldn't be, and that was that!).

Scarlet, lots of Braxton Hicks sounds promising!

And I agree, Ninja your pregnancy does seem to be racing! You've been very lucky leave wise - how lovely!

Bought a birthing ball yesterday, ready to get bouncing. Should I already be doing that? I've been avoiding it as gym balls really mucked up my back - when they thought my sciatica was 'just' sciatica, I was advised to do lots of exercises on one, but they actually made the disc problem worse. Nevertheless, I'm willing to give anything a go, and found one on offer in Tesco yesterday so picked it up. I have talked to LO strictly about when it's to arrive - not before Wednesday of next week (36+3, so unlikely anyway), but then not around the two days when we'd like to move house (38w+4 and 5). Other than that it can come before or after, I'm not fussy!

Also, which exercises are particularly effective on a ball? What should I be doing? Rather clueless here..!

NinjaChipmunk · 14/04/2012 08:54

musical my ball came with a sheet of excercises. Will see if I kept it later but have to be out for a haircut this morning and dp having a lie in today as he didn't get home from Istanbul till about 2am last night. Would youtube have anything in the meantime?
On the subject of weird/ not weird celebrity crushes I think a few more people should share....

jenfraggle · 14/04/2012 09:39
NinjaChipmunk · 14/04/2012 09:46

sorry jen If it makes you feel any better I've never really been one for 'conventional' crushes!

jenfraggle · 14/04/2012 09:50
Wants3 · 14/04/2012 09:54

Morning all! I have been up for a while but I have been doing chores, mainly emptying DH s suitcase into the washing machine! He got back at about 7 and after a quick chat went to bed ( 18 hours of travelling) I had to get up as my hip was too uncomfortable and every time I tried to change position it set my bhs off. Baby in the pelvis is not all that brilliant as I now have lots of pressure down below and I ache at the top of my legs, more so when my tummy tightens!
When DH wakes up we are going to set the pram up again so he can have a play.:) he only saw the model in the shop which was in pushchair mode and a different colour!

NinjaChipmunk · 14/04/2012 10:02

brilliant news wants glad he's managed to get home before you've popped. Make sure you take it easy for a bit once the washing machine is on!

scarletfingernail · 14/04/2012 10:04

Yes, the rest of you definity need to confess your unusual celeb crushes. It can't be only me, jen and ninja.

wants so pleased your DH is back safely, have a lovely weekend.

Brooking for a smooth, easy move for you musical and for baby to stay put until you're in.

Nothing happening here apart from even more braxton hicks. DH has taken DS out on his own for the first time in weeks, so I'm enjoying laying in bed reading. Just trying to get the motivation to get up and showered.

OP posts:
NinjaChipmunk · 14/04/2012 10:37

scarlet I've clearly missed your unusual celeb crush, who was it??

NinjaChipmunk · 14/04/2012 10:40

for what its worth I have several old men crushes (sam elliott, donald sutherland and ed harris when he was in the abyss) as well as wonky faced adrien brody (who has only done 2 decent films to my knowledge). I can probably come up with many more given a bit of time.....

jenfraggle · 14/04/2012 10:44

I think those that are keeping quiet are the ones with really weird crushes

NinjaChipmunk · 14/04/2012 10:46
Grin right off to have a shower and go out. I expect a full list of crushes by the time I get back this afternoon.
scarletfingernail · 14/04/2012 10:48

ninja my confession is about 15 posts upthread, just after jen's. Probably best not repeated. I can pretend I didn't say it then. I have loads, it's often nothing to do with looks. (Don't tell my DH that!) A voice can be enough. Marco Pierre White for instance.

OP posts:
jaggythistle · 14/04/2012 10:49

will confess when i get on the computer later!

slept okish again last night apart from a 3am poo FFS and convincing DS at 6am that it wasn't morning yet!

got to try and time the DS lunch/sleep thing right so that he's awake enough to eat but tired enough to sleep. also still quite keen on his cereal for every meal so have to get in first with something else!

who said mat leave was relaxing.. DH still slaving away on mega diy task.

McPopcornMouseNFries · 14/04/2012 10:51

Adrien Brody is gorgeous ninja I also like Sean Bean mostly when he was younger though and I actually think David Mitchell is really cute Shock Blush

:o :o marco pierre white!

jaggythistle · 14/04/2012 11:06

You Adrien Brody fans might enjoy this then. A bit weird but quite cool .:)

jaggythistle · 14/04/2012 11:10

I still watch a certain set of sci-fi box sets now and again.... nothing to do with this

jaggythistle · 14/04/2012 11:29

oh no - have I scared you all away?

Munx2 · 14/04/2012 11:38

Quantum Leap! Ace.

jenfraggle · 14/04/2012 11:41

I love Quantum Leap, it's on every day but I keep forgetting and missing it

jaggythistle · 14/04/2012 11:59

Unless I have linked to something totally random, that was actually from the x-flies (season 2 I believe).

Love quantum leap too though :)

jaggythistle · 14/04/2012 11:59

files even Blush
