With just a yay fishcake hope tomorrow is wonderful!!!

and hooray for more rat smackers BFPs

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 02/04/2012 22:28

I am doing more exercises and reviewing in a couple of weeks, I am hoping it will stretch out, not all tongue ties need snipping. Depends on how uncomfortable I am finding it still. I know the theory behind having it cut, the reasoning, the procedure and how it should be painless as there shouldn't be any nerve endings and infection risk is minute.etc Still don't want a DR wielding scissors near my baby's mouth!
2 weeks is a long time for things to change though so we will see :)

I am not a Guru by a long stretch though! Blush Aww definite girly bits, fabulous! :)

Music how are you making this baby blanket? I am very envious of crafty people. I have tried my hand at many things over the years and being 100% shite at al of them Wink

Ninja glad to here about your holiday, thats a bonus!

I want the newly PSEPP to come over! How many are there? Ooh almost makes me broody! Confused

Stasi · 02/04/2012 23:01

A quick hi post before bed. I recognise some names on here, but not many. Got a bfp this morning, but not feeling relaxed about it yet. Think I'll need a week (or 30) to get used to the idea and believe its real! Looking forward to getting to know you all.

fishcakefoxtrot · 02/04/2012 23:08

I?m so glad to hear those fibroids shifted scream. Roll on Wednesday!

I have to be in at 8am tomorrow so I really should be in bed. I tried to have a sleep earlier but although I feel exhausted I couldn?t go to sleep. I am going to try again in a minute.

We still don?t have names picked out. We had shortlists but we have just been through them and now I don?t like any of them. DH is looking for a baby name app and at least it will give us something to think about while we wait tomorrow. DD wasn?t named for days so I?m not too worried just yet.

I?m fairly sure I will have reception at the hospital ? I hope so as I?m relying on mumsnet for the long nights ahead!

scarletfingernail · 02/04/2012 23:59

Congrats again Stasi and welcome over, it's great to see you here.

I hope you're in bed now Fishcake. I really should be, but I managed an hour's nap for the first time in weeks this afternoon and it gave me an energy boost, I've just finished a huge pile of ironing. DH is still painting and finishing off the new rooms. I won't get the opportunity to have a nap tomorrow so will probably feel even worse.

Thanks for the gas and air advice Purple. I'm hoping it won't come to that. I was told that if it was painful it means that it's unlikely to work as the baby doesn't want to move so they will stop the process if that is the case. If the baby is up for moving it shouldn't be any more than uncomfortable. When they knocked DS into place I didn't feel a thing so I'm hoping that I will have the same experience again...

Well done you for spotting your LO's tongue tie, bless him. It's great that it's been diagnosed and I'm sure the Dr will only suggest snipping it if absolutely necessary.

Stacks · 03/04/2012 05:27

Morning. It's Stasi. I changed my name, but had thoughtit would change the names on my old posts.

I've got insomnia :( I hope it doesn't last. I never have problems sleeping, ever... Except the last 3days. I'm just not at all tired right now. Using the iPad under the covers so not to wake dh. Guess I'll go read a few threads..

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 03/04/2012 07:14

Thinking of you, Fishcake! Hope you got some sleep in the end. Have fun picking a name - am sure it will be beautiful.

Hi Stacks! Congratulations! Sorry to hear you have insomnia already, but am Envy of the iPad. I could do with one of those for midnight feeding sessions. Is this your first baby?

Scarlet, cannot believe you were ironing at midnight in your condition! Being awake is one thing, but why ironing when there's all that lying on the sofa to be done? Are you nesting? This could be A Sign!

Hawthers, have been testing the hot water bottle in Moses basket and it does seem to work! It just doesn't stay hot enough for a full night, so am up boiling the kettle to refill it, and have had to pause to feed Maia because she wouldn't wait.

Purple, Brooking for that tongue tie to stretch! Poor you, does it still hurt a lot to feed? I hope you see a rapid improvement once the power of the No Brookers comes into play.

Ninja, yay for a lengthy holiday! It'll be great.

Right, am going to put Maia down for long enough to refill the hot water bottle and have another go at some sleep.

jaggythistle · 03/04/2012 08:06

morning all!

good luck fishcake, hope all goes well.

congrats stasi stacks. Grin

scarlet my ironing pile is the size of the moon if you're bored...

yay for all the bfps coming through!

hope the tongue tie works out ok purple, DS had his done at 8 days but i don't think it was posterior.

scarletfingernail · 03/04/2012 08:36

Stacks I hope the insomnia isn't kicking in for you already. I'm afraid it did for me more or less immediately, but it could be that as you got your BFP yesterday it's the high that stopped you from relaxing properly and you will get proper sleep again.

Too I don't think I'm nesting. No, I'm definitely not nesting. My ironing pile was taller than DS so thought I'd better tackle it while I was feeling ok. I'm not ok now though, DH didn't come to bed until 2am and was farting around looking for something for ages when he did Angry, then his usual mouth breathing kept me awake so I gave up at 4am and came downstairs. I reckon I've slept for an hour all night and I'm out today and this evening. jaggy I'm not bored - sorry! I'd rather iron than clean, at least I can catch up on any TV I've missed at the same time.

I'm loving Homeland at the moment, is anyone else gripped?

TheLittleFriend · 03/04/2012 08:36

Massive good luck to fishcake for today. x

musicalmrs · 03/04/2012 09:03

Good luck Fishcake for today! Brooking that everything will go fabulously!

Stacks, congratulations again over here! :) I hope, as the others say, it's not pregnancy insomnia creeping in already. I'm another who has suffered it throughout pregnancy- tough when having to work the next day. I should have come on here - was awake from about 3am til 5.30 this morning.

Purple, sounds like a good plan re the tongue tie. I suspect you know more about it than many a doctor anyway! Wink. The blanket I'm making is knitted! Have done a little bit as an experiment (it uses stitches I've not used before), but will start again today, then it's all guns ahead. It's a deliberate ploy to make me relax - I think I could very easily spend too much of maternity leave writing music, but if I have some knitting on the go I'll be forced to spend a bit of time in front of the tv doing nothing every day!

Imps7 · 03/04/2012 09:23

Hurrah for today!! Good luck Fishcake!!

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 03/04/2012 09:26

Just popping in to say I'm thinking of Fishcake and No Brooking super hard on her behalf!

Also, welcome to Stacks!

Will return later after my mw appt.

jaggythistle · 03/04/2012 09:34

i have a snorer scarlet so feel your pain! it's hard enough getting back to sleep when it's quiet. :)

i slept pretty rubbish too between aches, my Very Loud cough and wees!

am getting a break today as it's too snowy for DH to work, he's away out with DS to play.

Wants3 · 03/04/2012 09:44

popcorn I picked my pants up from Tescos. I am currently wearing ones that go under the bump but they are starting to get a bit uncomfortable. I am a bit worried that if I go into big ones too soon I'll never go back:)
Would one of those wheat bags that you pop in the microwave be good for warming baskets? It would certainly be quicker to sort out in the middle of the night!
Yay for the start of the next birthathon and great to hear their spaces are being filled with the next batch of BFPs!

Biscuitsandtea · 03/04/2012 10:00

Good luck today Fishcake Smile can't wait to hear all about it Smile

Congrats again stacks and welcome Smile

Scarlet - boo to noisy sleeping DHs Sad. I have to say that even though I'm getting up in the night it's so nice to just be able to go back to sleep straight away when I get back into bed - whereas when pg I could never drop back off. And then DH would say something ridiculous like 'oh you must not be tired'.... Grrrrr.....

pommedechocolat · 03/04/2012 10:11

fishcake - good luck!

She may have even finished by now? Can't wait to hear Smile

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 03/04/2012 10:27

Congratulations Stacks and welcome :) I suffered from insomnia off and on, I think your hormones just go a bit squiffy.

Look forward to hearing from Fishcake UBB on board is it not? Yay!

Scarlet my DH would have been on the sofa! The really great thing about not being pregnant is that I can medicate with caffeine, lovely lovely caffeine! Not long now for you now :)

I haven't been to a Dr as my matey lactation consultant can refer.etc Yes I have had a lot more training than most HCPs, the peers supporter training is more! You should have seen the HV's face when I was talking about DDs upper labial frenulum Wink

I am just uncomfortable, the baby is gaining good weight for the moment so was/am ignoring the discomfort and hoping it goes away... I bit like when your a child and you fall over and don't get upset until you see your parent, it took me seeing one of my boobtrained friends to make me decide I do need to consider addressing it more and seeing my LC friend to have my suspicions confirmed. If you follow! I thought he had some sort of tie straight away but it was a matter of locating it and whether it is actually a problem or not.

STILL not confirmed a name! What do you all think of Nye?

Is the postnatal thread going? Anyone link?

pommedechocolat · 03/04/2012 10:35

purple I like nye but depends a bit on what your dd is called imo. I found the hardest bit with second name was 'matching' it. Post natal thread a but quiet we need some help! Can't link as on iPad but there were some posts recently so might not be too hard to find?

Oo is it a ubb? Exciting!

Congratulations stacks!!

This thread is filling up quickly with a new group it's cool to see it carry on Smile

Feeding may have calmed down. We got out for a walk this am and dd1 now playing in garden.

How much is everyone else feeding at night? Between midnight and six I am averaging four feeds which feels a lot suddenly!

jenfraggle · 03/04/2012 11:00

I'm off to MW appointment in a minute but hopefully there will be some news when I get back from fishcake

Congratulations stacks, I think you will like it over here.

Wants3 · 03/04/2012 11:58

Nye is a nice name, don't hear it very often. I am feeling really uncomfortable and tired today:( I want to get my uni assignment done but can't face sitting in a chair ATM.
Looking forward to hearing from fishcake

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 03/04/2012 12:35

No news yet?

Pomme, last night there were 3 feeds between midnight and 6am, but the night before it felt like she never stopped feeding! 4 a night sounds about right, sadly. This too shall pass, this too shall pass...

I've never heard the name Nye before, Purple. Where does it come from and what does it mean? I'm not sure about it, but that's probably because I don't know it.

Wants, maybe you should have a nap now and do your uni thing later, if that's possible. Uncomfy and tired doesn't mix well with brainwork, in my experience.

Has anyone else got heaps of snow? It's been snowing all morning here! If I was at work I would be having to deal with gritting complaints - yay for mat leave! Grin

pommedechocolat · 03/04/2012 12:55

Thanks too dd1 was a better sleeper and a rubbish feeder so she definitely never did four between midnight and six! She was however a nightmare to get back to sleep so I should count my blessings!

I'm as far south from you as I can be and we went for a walk in the sun this am! Cloudy now though.

jenfraggle · 03/04/2012 13:11

It's sunny here too and I'm sure I'm much further south than pomme

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 03/04/2012 13:26

Nye is short for Aneurin, but would just be Nye, I like the sound, but not sure on any name for him.
Pomme whereabouts are you? Me and Jen are neighbours ish lol
At least 2 feeds in that period but one would be an hour of wakefulness with quite a bit of feeding. With feeding at night they are just putting their order in for the next day as prolactin levels are higher.

I don't if fishcake has an ubb, just can't remember gender.
