:o Birthathon!

What an exciting week! :)

DreamingOfPeace · 02/04/2012 16:19

The doctor who linked the MMR to autism has been struck off the medical register and totally discredited. The MMR can be given at any age. People who don't vaccinate their children put them at far higher risk if they catch the diseases. It's the first live vaccine they're given though, hence some react more and I think that's why they need to be bigger scream though I'm not positive about that. The early weeks immunisations are all 'dead' (can't think of the opposite!) vaccines so can still cause a fever etc but not to the same degree as tackling the MMR for the immune system.

I am.having such painful bh (which the mw had no interest in at pre op this morning), and generally suffering. Bring on Wed... Finally got most of the stuff for my hospital bag, bar nighties. Sainsburys had none that would do for easy feeding!! on the other hand, after getting my big knickers etc in sainsburys and stocking up as if for Armageddon, I stood in a massive check out queue and a member of staff quietly came and got me and took me and opened a new till for me- said they didn't think i should be waiting that long Blush . Now that's how I know I'm visibly vast and struggling!!!!

Poor DD ill. Cough cough cough cough cough. After 2 hours getting her to bed she was up after an hour, and at least every hour til one am, then slept til 5. I feel shattered!!!

Yes, scarlet, I am really struggling keeping up with her...

Wonder if fishcakes baby is here?! I'm thinking yes...

DreamingOfPeace · 02/04/2012 16:36

Oh. So slow writing I missed loads!!

fishcake, I am.also worried about how exhausted I feel before the babies arrive.... We'll cope though. And tomorrow for you, hooray!!!
I'm not doing anything fun with DD either today. I left her with my dad and went to pre op and now I'm in bed, so knackered, and he's taken her to the library. I will summon up some energy for tomorrow though maybe she's such hard work as not that well though...

too, thanks. so useful to hear any tips from twin mums!!

jenfraggle · 02/04/2012 16:39

Now then, please can I take your orders so that I can make sure I order in exactly what everyone wants to get us all through this Birthathon? If you could form an orderly queue then that will speed things up.

Wants3 · 02/04/2012 16:52

I just laid out some stuff on the bed for my hospital bag, just to see what I have. The baby is pretty much sorted I think! I need a button front nightie for the birth and snacks etc which I will get closer to the time. I have a large bag of giant buttons ready to go in as my little reward for giving birth. I am hoping the thought of them waiting on the 'other side'will facilitate my sneeze birth!:) I am starting to suffer from lack of sleep too but think myself lucky that I don't have toddler to run around after or get up to in the night! I will try and get an early night tonight as I need to pop into to work tomorrow.
I remember having mumps as a child so obviously not vaccinated but DCs were with no problems. DH has never had it! Then again, he grew up in central Africa so there were plenty of other lurgies to fight off so mumps didn't get a look in!

Wants3 · 02/04/2012 17:02

Ooh and I bought some large knickers today, £2.50 for four pairs! Is it wrong that I am looking forward to wearing them, they look sooo comfy:)

fishcakefoxtrot · 02/04/2012 17:03

Well I am expected at the hospital tomorrow morning jen. if you could get me in first on the list for then I would be grateful- I'm not sure how long I can last without a cup of tea in the morning Grin

Thanks for the cheering biscuits, it's a lot more than i'm managing at the moment. I really had better perk up a bit before tomorrow!

Hang in there dream, not long to go now.

fishcakefoxtrot · 02/04/2012 17:04

Ah wants I hear you on the big pants. I was pleased to see mine as I put them into my hospital bag. Soooo comfy!

scarletfingernail · 02/04/2012 17:19

Wowsers is it time for the birthathon already? That sneaked up on us fast.
I'll be lurking for news from you fishcake all day tomorrow, can't wait! The important question is will you have a phone signal in hospital?

dream I can't believe you're now only a day away. We got our BFPs within 24 hours of each other and our due dates were the same, by this time Wednesday you will be holding your little boys Shock. It seems to have gone really fast when I think back to that BFP day. I hope you get a couple of good nights sleep before Wednesday.

I hope you've had a great scan Scream. I can imagine you in there checking one more time that you're having a DD Grin

I've been having a few twinges here the last couple of days, especially in the evenings. The Braxton Hicks are making themselves known in abundance which is completely new for me, I didn't have any with DS. This does make me nervous as I'm not supposed to go into labour if the baby is still transverse. Speaking of which, I'm not entirely sure...but I think it might now be breech Confused. It's definitely not head down anyway, all kicks are very low down. I'm seeing my MW friend socially tomorrow and she's promised to have a go at palpating for me.

I'm pondering what snacks to pack for my hospital bag too. Got to prioritise the important stuff right? I'm thinking Walkers roast chicken and thyme flavoured sensations.

McPopcornMouseNFries · 02/04/2012 17:19

Where are you cheapo knickers from wants? I need some new ones, my pre-preggo ones feel quite tight Blush

farfallarocks · 02/04/2012 17:21

Marks spot for the birthathon.

We have had a few BFPS on the thread gals so we should have some more inhabitants for the ante natal thread shortly!

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 02/04/2012 17:36

Oooooo let the birthathon commence!! Can't wait for Fishcake's news - should we direct any no brooking at the signal/reception in the various hospitals this week? We've got to make sure we're keeping up! Grin

Just got back from my scan - it's all good! The power of No Brooking is unstoppable, thank you soooooo much to everyone for their support. I had to laugh when I saw Scarlet's comment about me checking the gender AGAIN, you have me spot on! Blush Grin This time the legs were apart and they actually saw girlie bits, so I'm even more excited!! The evil fibroids are up by my belly button - waaaaaaaaaaaay out of way of my bikini line!

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 02/04/2012 17:41

Hope all is going swimmingly, Scream, and the fibroids have moved. Whoever suggested that your DH get immunised sharpish had an excellent point - get him on it!

Fishcake, tomorrow will be so exciting! So looking forward to it.

Hospital bag snacks - BabyBels and grapes! Mmm.

Scarlet, what happens if the LO is breech? Would you still have the ECV? When is that booked again? Do you feel more comfortable or is it just as bad? Lots of questions, sorry for the interrogation!

One day to go, Dream! Does it feel completely unreal? It did for me. Two babies, imagine the sweetness!

Fishcake and Dream, have you got names all picked out or are you still unsure?

I fell asleep again while feeding last night Blush. Maybe I should get less comfy Confused. Still, Bean slept too and I think maybe she was awake because she was a bit cold in the basket. I must have been asleep for nearly an hour and it was the longest sleep I got all night.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 02/04/2012 17:43

Cross post - yay Scream! Hurray! So pleased, my lovely.

Biscuitsandtea · 02/04/2012 18:17

Hoop-flippin'-ray Scream!!!!

Thank crunchie for that! Now just keep your legs crossed until Wednesday....

jaggythistle · 02/04/2012 18:39

yay scream, this no brooking rocks!

when it gets to my turn i shall be requesting a baby that is keener to come out than DS was and a labour that conveniently happens when my parents are staying nearby, so i don't have to summon them from miles away! it's bound to work. Grin

also v excited for the birthathon!

got some nice buttony nighties from matalan for about £6 each. they seem quite nice and light so not too hot for hospital.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 02/04/2012 18:41

I know we're all flat out No Brooking for the birthathon this week, but can I just say that one of my really good friends in RL has just gone into labour this afternoon as well, so any spare No Brooking that could be directed her way would be much appreciated! She would fit in perfectly here, she has a 2 y/o DS already, and had a real uphill battle to get pg 2nd time around. She's also the loveliest person you could ever hope to meet! Grin

Also she was scheduled for an induction tomorrow, so this labour really is a last minute reprieve! I mention this specifically for Scarlet... I'm still No Brooking that the ECV won't be needed!

pommedechocolat · 02/04/2012 18:44

Whoop whoop for scream!

Congrats to the newbies as well

I cannot believe its time for baby fish and dreams double trouble to make an appearance either

scarletfingernail · 02/04/2012 19:03

Too if it is now breech they would still attempt the ECV before doing a C section if necessary. I think some hospitals do breech vaginal births, I'm not sure about mine as everyone I know who's had a breech baby there has had it delivered by section. I'll go with whatever I'm advised, I trust the consultant I'm allocated to. It actually feels transverse again now Confused I've no idea if it's normal for a baby at nearly 38 weeks to be turning around so much. The ECV is next week so I'll know for sure when they scan me when I arrive for it.

Brooking for your friend Scream, great that she managed to avoid the induction.

What time are you going in tomorrow Fishcake?

Bacon roll for me please jen

Biscuitsandtea · 02/04/2012 19:16

I am genuinely so excited about all these new babies that will be arriving imminently GrinGrin

Squeeeeeeeeeee GrinGrin

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 02/04/2012 20:12

I think these babies come in groups of three... I am excited too!

Does it happen to be three BFPs?

Pleased for you Scream :) Although not so with the mumps!

You can have gas and air for ECVs if you ask, just so you know Wink My friend 2nd baby was breech, her 3rd was transverse, both late on.

I have had it confirmed that the baby does have a tongue tie, so a bit :( especially if it needs divided. Although :) as I correctly diagnosed it and it is a posterior one i.e not the most obvious. Strange to diagnose my first tongue tie and it is MY baby Confused

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 02/04/2012 20:41

Sooooooooooooo excited about Fishcake's big day tomorrow - can't stop thinking about it! Also Dream, you've done SO WELL to make it right through to now, I just can't believe your big day is only 36 hours away!

Purple very impressive spotting the tongue tie! Clearly your title as No Brooking Guru is well-deserved! What happens now? Will they need to snip the tie? Don't feel down the important thing is that you picked up on the problem and now any necessary action can be taken at a really early stage. My cousin's baby had his tongue tie snipped at 2 weeks old and it healed straightaway - there was an instant improvement in his breastfeeding.

Yay for all the Rat Smackers who have recently got their BFPs and will be joining us shortly! Also No Brooking for Farfalla's scan on Wednesday!

musicalmrs · 02/04/2012 21:05

Scream, hurrah for a fantastic scan! And a fantastic weight. And girly bits! Grin

Fishcakes, how exciting that your baby will be here tomorrow - and Dream's in two days time! And what's even better is that I'm at home for the rest of the week to sit and refresh this thread and wait for your updates :) So exciting! So many brooking babies!

Purple, impressive diagnosing! Don't be :( about it though - if it needs snipping it's one of those things, and they'll only do it if they think it's best for you both!

A lovely peaceful evening eating creme eggs and working on my baby blanket! I wonder if I should have started it a bit earlier... Confused

NinjaChipmunk · 02/04/2012 21:35

Ooh its all very exciting! Shame I've got such a busy week, I do hope I get time to check in regularly!
On the complete bonus side, I worked out today I actually finish a week earlier than I thought. I have to take nearly all my holiday before my mat leave starts so for maximum benefit I'm starting my ML on 27 June which is my due date but my hols start on May 10th!! I'm so looking forward to the break. And ds will be at nursery 3 days a week too.
And a big massive yay for new preggos over on the rat smackers thread, brilliant news.
scream so glad to hear the fibroids have moved, weds should be a doddle! Then you can relax and go into spontaneous labour and be whisked off to have your cs.
Right, time to read back and see what I've missed!
