I think scream and biscuits are both equally amazing. I would have been a total gibbering wreck ages ago if I'd been faced with what you both are coping with!

jaggythistle · 31/03/2012 12:00

I'm 28th by LMP scream and wantsbut am being counted as 25th from dating scan and am 36+something. Not sure how I feel about this as I don't want them getting impatient and booking up a CS - opposite of your situation! :)

Feeling ok thanks - just a bit sniffly and croaky.

Have had a reasonably productive morning at work - just need to keep the motivaton going.....

Biscuitsandtea · 31/03/2012 12:11

Scream and Dream surely Pomme? Although I am of course amazing Wink.

I agree though - they are amazing Grin

pommedechocolat · 31/03/2012 12:33

Oh yes whoops! BlushBlush

Wants3 · 31/03/2012 13:36

Phew! I thought I was ok counting from 1-40. :) I have been trying to sort stuff today to free up my living room. I have managed to squirrel the pram under the coffee table and clear a space next to my bed for the basket so I don't feel like I am living in mothercare anymore!
It was nice to speak to DH via Skype this morning. He is settling in to a working routine so hopefully the time will pass quickly for him.

DreamingOfPeace · 31/03/2012 13:45

Think scarlet has more to.cope with than me... I'm just whinging, sorry...

Have put new bump pic up. Nothing fits any more, dh's t-shirts dont even come close to covering the bump and he's 6'4 to my 5'4!!!

Do we think fishcakes having a baby?! Exciting!! She does have the mega move and may just be busy though...

jenfraggle · 31/03/2012 14:00

stats thread

Just a reminder for people.

Had a letter through today with my first appointment with the HV. Not at a surgery I've been to before so that will be fun.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 31/03/2012 14:19

Why are you seeing a HV pre-baby Jen? Is that the norm in your PCT?

Your bump continues to astound and amaze me Dream!!!! Hats off!

jenfraggle · 31/03/2012 14:33

The letter says it is to give me my red book and discuss the Health Visiting service and the Healthy Child Programme. They first contacted me to try and make an appointment at the beginning of March but I was working then so they put it back a month.

Yes, Dream your bump is rather impressive :)

scarletfingernail · 31/03/2012 14:35

Only just had time to catch up.

There's been a mix up with the results for the UTI I was diagnosed with last week Confused. They picked up an infection in the sample I took in to the ante-natal clinic at the hospital last Friday. I then did another sample there and then just to be sure. The same thing was picked up again so they sent it to the lab. I was offered anti-b's or told I could wait and see what the results showed, so I went along with that as I'd had no symptoms. I called my own MW on Tues for the results, she informed me that they had come back clear, all great. Wednesday I get a call from the nurse at my GP surgery saying that the results have come in and they've shown an infection, but they think the sample was contaminated Confused so I need to do another one. I'm completely bewildered by it all at this point so I called the ante-natal clinic at the hospital, explained and had them look up the results. They agreed with my MW, no infection Hmm but advised to do the repeat test to clear up any confusion.

Are you still with me? Grin So I took another sample to my GP surgery on Thursday where the receptionist had the arse with me because I had no request form to send it off with and then I dared to ask if I could take a clean sample pot away with me for next time. Honestly her face looked like I'd poured the sample over her lunch. I'm annoyed about it all, because I'm none the wiser and potentially had a water infection now for over a week which hasn't been treated. Although reading about jen's awful night I've convinced myself that there can't be anything wrong with me or else I'd know about it. So how come an infection was detected in 2 samples at the ante-natal clinic before being sent off to the lab Confused

jen how are you feeling today? Your experience the other night sounds horrific! It's easy to say it's just a UTI, but they can be awful, not to mention dangerous during pregnancy. At least it was picked up pretty quickly and you've been given some meds for it.

Dream I cannot get over the size of your bump! Shock It cannot get any bigger now surely?

Yay for mat leave Musical and jaggy. I'm in awe you've managed to keep going for as long as you have without needing loads of time off sick.

I've been lucky enough to see Biscuits and meet Baby E and he is absolutely adorable. It's a good job I'm pg as it made me soooo broody. I can't wait now until I have my LO here for baby snuggles. I'd forgotten how tiny newborns are and the cute little noises they make. Biscuits is doing an amazing job, he's such a content little boy Smile

jenfraggle · 31/03/2012 14:47

Feeling much better thanks. It was so strange, I was in so much pain that night but haven't had any pain since. The ABs are probably only going to start working today but I haven't even taken any painkillers since the ones they gave me in hospital. If the pain hadn't been constant then I would have thought I was in labour. It will be interesting to compare the pain when I am though in roughly 7 weeks time

Biscuitsandtea · 31/03/2012 18:17

Meh! Sad

Just been sorting out my clothes to get rid of my maternity clothes etc

Meh! Sad

I have a big old tummy and my clothes all look horrible. Am still wearing my maternity jeans that have the stretchy insert panels instead of pockets but my proper maternity jeans are too big now.

Tops wise though I dot want to wear my bump emphasising maternity tops anymore but my other clothes just look rubbish with the combo of a big ol' tum and my not-so- upfront-nursing-bra-boobs.

Meh! Sad

DreamingOfPeace · 31/03/2012 18:29

A grim inbetween period where I looked like some kind of colour blind person who'd also dressed in the dark as i remember biscuits... This too shall pass!!

pommedechocolat · 31/03/2012 18:42

biscuits don't worry you're not the only one. I did buy a couple of new tops that can be bf in the other day abs it has made me feel a bit better.

Last time my body shed the weight almost immediately so still having weight to lose is a shock. Annoyed that bf isn't working as this time round no formula!!!

And my bf wedding is in three weeks time Confused

hawthers · 31/03/2012 18:52

Sorry but i still feel like that and f is 3 months old.... Just starting to think about dieting to shed the 'shelf'. I've got 3 months before we go to the south of France for two weeks. Hmm not sure how much of a dent I can make in that time.

Biscuitsandtea · 31/03/2012 18:55

It's just depressing to get out boxes of clothes that all fitted and looked ok (ish) last year, and then end up with like 3 or 4 things that actually fit Sad

Again, meh!

hawthers · 31/03/2012 19:13

I got out if the shower last week and DS1 said yuck put some clothes on mummy. Made me feel really special Sad

pommedechocolat · 31/03/2012 19:16

la la la will all be gone in a few weeks time la la la

I mean at least I'm not one of those women moaning about their baby weight and lack of bf weight loss whilst stuffing their face with cake, chocolate and curry. Noo way.

I have fed all day and my nipples are sore. What new hell is a tricking five week growth spurt?? Dh driving me mental moaning about being tired and that because of the constant boob feeding he doesn't get much time with Abbie. Argh!

GreenOlives · 31/03/2012 19:27

Dream Just had to delurk to say that your bump is AMAZING, it is defying gravity! Grin And the rest of you is still tiny!

Wants3 · 31/03/2012 20:03

My dad just phoned to check I had enough fuel to get to them tomorrow. Luckily we filled up before the madness started!
Ds1 has just made me a decaf latte to go with my kitkat chunky! I luff him:)

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 31/03/2012 20:33

Is it terrible to be worrying about my weight/size right now? I am so vain Blush. But I don't fit into my fat jeans from pre-pg yet and am still wearing mat jeans or joggers. Also, no matter how hard I suck my tummy in I can't see my pubes unless I push on my stomach firmly. When does the Magic BF Diet kick in??

Wow, it's like we have some sort of weird mind link on this thread. I wrote the above paragraph 4 hours ago when I was getting dressed to go into town and then forgot to press post. Then I come back and you lot have been worrying about the exact same thing! Spooky.

la la la la Grin at Pomme and moaning about lack of weight loss while mainlining Coke floats and crisps (in my case). There is hope, however! My sister just went to visit a friend who has a 7 week old baby and who is all skinny again. The friend said that she spent a week peeing heaps, like 4 times in the night, and then suddenly she looked thin again and fitted back into her clothes. I want to be her! Right, in 4 weeks I too will suddenly be thin.

Dream, your bump is amazing! You look wonderful.

Pomme, DH is driving me mad by saying I'm treating him like a slave. I am not! and he is supposed to be off to support me, which means making me cups of tea when I ask! Is the 5 week growth spurt worse than the 3 week one?

Hawthers, 3 months is heaps of time. Lots of diets aim to get you losing 2lbs a week, so in 3 months you could lose 24lbs, which is...umm... 1 stone 10. I am Envy of the holiday in the south of France!

Scarlet, that's really confusing about your pee samples. I think, though, that samples tested by MWs often turn out to be contaminated, ie, by discharge or something, and the lab tests it properly and will give you the official answer. I had lots of MW samples suggest I had an infection and then the lab said there was nothing there.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 31/03/2012 20:47

Last night was horrible - Velcro baby refusing to go to sleep anywhere except on me and snapping awake when I tried to put her down. Then I had a fight with DH at 7 am because he wants me to express so he can feed her a bit when I get exhausted, or failing that, try using the dummy if I'm sure she can't be hungry any more. I'm not exactly averse to expressing, but when was I meant to do it when she would not be put down? I can't express holding her! And I don't want to use the dummy yet and I had explained that to him. Anyway, we shouted at each other a bit, I cried a lot, and as Bean was asleep, handed her to him and went to sleep in a huff. I woke up 2 hours later and DH had been to Tesco and bought croissants and made me breakfast, so he is forgiven. I don't mind feeding every hour or two, I just want her to sleep in her own basket in between and not on me!

pommedechocolat · 31/03/2012 22:10

too- based just on today umm yes but maybe it'll be shorter?!

DreamingOfPeace · 31/03/2012 22:27

I remember the nights well... I used to get the Night Dreads about how awful it'd be. too, I just persevered with the putting back in the basket, never got that far though but did get up to two hour stretchs of sleep in it with her. Evicted DD into her own room at 9 weeks and went from two hours max between feeds to 8 hours, first night!!! I checked her 4 times as I thought she must have died or something, this child who needed feeding every 2 hours!!! but sympathies, its a hard, hard time. Keep going!!!

pomme, ditto, these fast growing little creatures are very demanding.

Re the bf diet, I found after 4 weeks last time I was despondent about my tummy, but big, big improvement by 9 weeks with me stuffing myself with chocolate and cake just the same. Maybe its a first pg thing though...?! I'm stuffed if so, and probably anyway I'm so f**king huge... And more stretch marks than skin now... But thanks for the nice bump comments. Neat ish it may be, but comfortable it is not!!!

Can't remember the rest, on phone, sorry!!!

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 31/03/2012 22:32

Jen I'm glad you're feeling better!

Scarlet how annoying with all the samples! Fingers crossed there's no actual UTI though, it's all just a tedious mix up!

Sorry to hear about velcro baby Too that sounds really frustrating. You also have my sympathy for the arguments with DH - there's a lot of that in my house right now as well!

It's been an interesting day at my end. I had really painful cramps that seemed to be coming and going in waves this afternoon. My parents have been round all day and my Mum was convinced I was in labour! I was in total denial and refusing to let her time the intervals between pains! Grin Luckily they subsided after a couple of hours.

I'm still not certain they were contractions, I couldn't feel any tightening during the pain. I actually think the baby was just screwing itself more firmly into my pelvis. The baby's arms and legs moved around a lot with each pain, and the pain was concentrated on my cervix, so I think maybe the baby was working it's way down to full engagement. Whatever it was it was AWFUL though! Soooooooo painful! It sent the sciatica in my leg crazy as well. Not fun, I hope that doesn't happen again!
