maketea we've got chicken pox doing the rounds here too! You're not in Surrey are you? DDs two main playmates from nursery have both been confirmed today as having got it, so just waiting to find spots tomorrow. Was hoping to delay this a while as DD has a blood disorder (inherited from DH), and DH had to have a blood transfusion when he got it as a child due to the blood disorder! Could do without hospital drama at the mo!

Great news on all the scans news ladies, really pleased for you all!

pinpan · 23/03/2012 04:31

Hooray for such a happy thread! And I'm happy too because I haven't felt sick all week and I've made it to the weekend. I spent all of Thursday thoroughly miserable - just wanted to (and did) weep at everything and nothing, which was very frustrating because there was actually nothing in the slightest bit wrong. I have started to tell people at work though, and they've all been very pleased so far, which is nice and a relief - there is sometimes a bit of a "why on earth would anyone want kids" kind of sentiment floating around especially among the younger crew so I'm expecting to get a bit of flak when the grapevine gets going beyond my own friends. Confused

Thanks and Biscuit for bubble and emmie! And I'm thinking strong chickenpox immunity/avoidance thoughts for maketea and missredindie. Smile

Good morning all! Glad there is good news on the scans from yesterday. We too had a wonderful scan and saw junior wriggling around and everything looks good. Such a relief!

Now, if only we could get our onward house purchase sorted out - life really would be tickety-boo! x

Emmiedarling · 23/03/2012 09:02

Morning all.

Hope everyone's sickness is easing.

Had the community midwife over yesterday (though my scan isnt till next wednesday). Was fairly standard procedure I think - tons of questions, but she seemed very nice.

She made me an appointment with the cervical obstetrican to deal with this business about getting a stitch. (I have had two bouts of cervical cancer and not much a cervix left!)

Anyway, the appointment was meant to be when Im 15 weeks but later in the afternoon yesterday, the MW called and said that although he's fully booked he wahts to see me first thing monday morning (9am). Now Im worried! Does he think something bad is going to happen?

Feel like I need to keep my legs in the air til Monday!!!!

Also got a referal to the pregnancy and eating disorder team which I think is going to be helpful.

Have a good day all! x

HeyMicky · 23/03/2012 09:17

How lovely to come back to such a cheerful thread - congrats everyone n successful scans.

Thunder how are you hearing a heartbeat already using your home doppler? I bought the Angel Sounds one, but can only hear my heart not the baby's, at 13+3

Morning ladies:):):) Hope everyone is still feeling chirpy,so nice to see all positive vibes after weeks of us all feeling miserable!! Does anybody have scans today? Mine is in 13 days & it seems like a lifetime away!!

Had a good day yesterday felt quite normal which was novel lol was out for dinner last night with my parents for a birthday & am paying for it this morning, don't know how I will manage to work later :)

Does anyone have anything lovely planned for the weekend? It's meant to be beautifully sunny into next week (I'm in Worcestershire) so hope it's the same for all of you :)

HeyMicky · 23/03/2012 09:48

Hmm, been doing all that and still no luck. Long weekend with the family so wanted to let the nieces listen as they've been really interested in the baby, but will just wait a week

CaptainHetty · 23/03/2012 09:57

Yaaay for happy thread! :o

Not only have my boobs grown another cup size (unwelcome by me, OH thinks all his birthdays have come at once) but I'm 12 weeks on Sunday and I'm (TMI, sorry) leaking milk already Confused don't remember that happening this early with my previous pregnancies!

Winnie81 · 23/03/2012 10:12

Oh no captain leaking already!! Poor you!

Gucci, I am going shopping with dh today as we both had a few days off so he could take care of me after my cvs (that didn't happen) so we are looking for birthday presses as I'm 31 on Monday and he has no idea what to buy me!!

Our friends our getting wed next sat so I'm going to London tmrw for hen day and then we are going to Brighton for hen night!!

Very exciting and the sun is shining!!

Also spoke to mw earlier and told her about cvs not happening and future amnio appointment. I also asked her if she could write me a letter to give into Uni in case I need to use mitigation for upcoming essays due in etc. she told me to go to gp as a letter from them would be more standing for the purpose! I now have appointment with docs later today to ask about the letter!

I have been trying to get all my work done but it's hard when I have upcoming tests etc.

Anyway I hope everyone has a wonderful day and weekend xxx GrinGrin

MakeTeaNotWar · 23/03/2012 11:31

winnie I live in Brighton - where are you going out?

Just had a call from the hospital to confirm that I have chicken pox immunity which is a relief! I've never had it and it's doing the rounds among friend's kids but somehow, I am immune! Yay!

RunningOutOfIdeas · 23/03/2012 14:05

Afternoon All. Hope you are enjoying some sunshine.

I had my booking in appointment yesterday. Same MW as my last 2 pregnancies. She is lovely. However taking my blood was a bit grim. I don't think the vein she used a fully healed from having a cannula in it 2 weeks ago so it was really painful, still hurts. Also my blood pressure is rather low so it took ages to get enough blood out.

Is any one else finding that they have to eat almost constantly to avoid nausea? It seems worse this time round. Maybe because I have to avoid anything high in fat. I am sure when I was pg with DD I used to stuff myself on pasta with creamy sauce and feel fine forhours.

I have just gone to M&S in my lunch break to buy some new maternity bras. I put on a normal bra this morning and realised I had a lovely quadruple boob effect - can't believe how much they have grown! I am not exactly small chested and they never fully returned to their pre-pg size after I had DD, so my old maternity bras are too tight.

Bubblebell1 · 23/03/2012 16:24

Hi girls. I'm sorry to put a downer on the thread yet again.

Day started of fine. Went to watch ds2 sport relief run and when I came home noticed I had passed alot of lumpy brown/red mucous. I've still got cramps low down in my abdomen and blood hasnt let up. Sad. Saw the gp who couldn't find a heart beat and has since referred me to the epu. They don't have space until Monday. I feel like I'm going to go crazy waiting til then.
I'm gutted. I just feel like it's over.
