Hope you get your results today winnie and that everything is fine...

I got a notification yesterday that my Doppler has been sent-I bet it will be sods law that I will start getting kicks just before it arrives...Confused will still be nice to hear the heartbeat though especially for dc. Grin

Apparently I have a mango baby this week! GrinGrinGrin

GizzyBoo · 01/05/2012 10:10

Yoooohooooooooooooooooooo

Hello ladies....thought I would pop on and let you all know I hadn't fallen of the face of the planet Grin

Winnie good luck for today. I hope you get your results through and they are positive ones at that Smile

Emmie wow what a time you have had.....glad to hear you are on the mend and being looked after. Hope everything settles for you now.

Hope everyone else is ok.

Not much to report here. Things are plodding along nicely. I have a very wriggly little button this morning. Movements are changing and increasing daily.
Nearly 18 weeks now and am still shattered although the migraines have settled a lot and I am managing not to cry on a daily basis Blush
Still a hormonal wreck though.

Well and truly in the maternity wear now. Bargain lot off ebay, kitted out with a bundle of stuff for £30 that will hopefully see me through to the end! Bump is rounding the flab off nicely and depending on what I am wearing I look visibly pregnant. Not bad for a fat bird Grin Still not quite back to my pre-pregnancy weight so I am classing that as no weight gain yet Grin

The weather here has been beautiful throughout April and we have had none of the wind or rain that has been badgering the rest of the UK. Another glorious day today so I am off to sit in the garden with a cuppa.

I shall be back Grin

Nice to see you again Gizzy!

Good luck Winnie, hope they get the results sorted today and that they're good. Smile

Thanks and BrewBiscuit for Emmie!

Not much news here, but I'm 19 weeks now and in the bath this evening I actually saw kicking for the first time! Amazing and weird. That little girl has some powerful limbs already! GrinGrin

Guccigirl79 · 01/05/2012 17:47

Hi all :) nice to hear off you Gizzy make the most of the sunshine, have none whatsoever where I am,the river has well & truely burst its banks down the road!

Have you had your results back yet Winnie? I'm sure all will be fine :)

No movement yet waiting patiently for it 16+2 20wk scan on 31st May :)

LoopyLa · 01/05/2012 18:35

Hi ladies, I feel like I haven't posted in an age but I'm still here, just had busy week at work and am shattered at weekends!

Emmie nice to see you back! Smile Glad to hear someone is looking after you!

I'm 14+3 and my bump has finally emerged (rather than being a speed hump below my jelly belly!!) so I'm so happy, was really getting very Envy at everyone's bumps!

So I will actually have to buy some maternity clothes now I s'pose, particularly as my wardrobe is very limited to what fits me. I've been avoiding it as I hate shopping frankly but needs must!

And I've bought my first baby item. It's completely impractical but fell in love with it and couldn't put it down - its a soft grey elephant toy and just so cute that I had to have it Grin

Got a week off work next week so looking forward to relaxing, napping and eating Wink

Oh and I have a question; I've had my blood taken at my scan a few wks ago and by a midwife before that but not seemed to have any results? Is that normal? I know everything takes forever in the NHS but would be nice to know everything is ok - any thoughts?

cakes82 · 01/05/2012 18:40

I had my blood test done at my booking in appt but then didn't get the results until I next saw mw at 16weeks. I think I would have heard if anything major though.

LovelyWeatherForDucks · 01/05/2012 19:10

Hello all!

I'm a new around here but thought it was about time to introduce myself!
My EDD is 10th Oct with 1st baby - 17 weeks tomorrow!- excited and terrified in equal measures! Luckily I've been feeling pretty fab since day 1, no sickness, just tiredness and the ocassisonal ache/pain/wooziness.

Counting down now to the 20 week scan though so we know all is OK with the little one. Time seems to be going soo slowly. We've also caved in and booked a private gender scan for Saturday - can't wait! I feel like it's too soon to start getting organised with baby gear (plus buying our first house at the mo, and fingers crossed moving in about a month) but this helps spread out the fun in between scans and before movements begin (although I've felt a few flutters and bubbles, I think!).

Also had my 16 week check up last week, lovely to hear the heartbeat, surprised that the midwife found it immediately! Also bought some h&m maternity jeans - officially the best thing ever!

I hope everyone else's pregnancies are progressing healthily and look forward to chatting with you all!

babybrain3 · 01/05/2012 19:47

Doppler arrived today-and found the heartbeat straight away!!! Couldn't stop giggling, it's so amazing!! £20 very well spent!!!! GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin DP and dc listened in too-loved it!!! GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

MsInterpret · 01/05/2012 20:18

Hi and welcome LovelyWeatherForDucks. Great name...I wonder what inspired it? Grin

Exciting babybrain! Hearing the heartbeat is lovely.

Went to my first yogabirth class last night - was great to have some time to focus on the pregnancy without thinking about work or DD Blush for a bit. Lots of people at different stages of pregnancy so hope meet some local new mums too.

other than that - work work work! Altho just prepped tomorrow so off to watch Mad Men Smile. Hope you're all having a nice evening. How are you feeling today emmie? And nice to see you back on the 'right' thread gizzyboo Wink

MsInterpret · 01/05/2012 20:19

Ooh, I think I used nearly every smiley in that message - must be feeling perky.

Here's Shock Hmm Confused for good measure

pinpan · 01/05/2012 20:48

Everybody is coming out of the woodwork this week! Grin Hello LovelyWeatherForDucks, nice to meet you. Smile

Loopy, my experience is that if test results are bad they'll get in touch, and if they're fine they won't bother unless you actually ask (on phone or at next appointment). So I'm sure it's all good! (I have soft grey elephant want now. Might have to go and look at toys at the weekend...)

newtonupontheheath · 01/05/2012 20:53

Hi everyone!

Have tried to post loads over the past few days but each time I wrote (very lengthy!!) posts, bloody MN went down!

Too tired now but good to see everyone Smile will post again soon (maybe tomorrow when I should be working from home?!)

Winnie81 · 01/05/2012 22:22

Aaarrrrgggghhhh what an emotional day I have had STILL NO RESULTS Angry

I have been on the phone to the hospital 6 times today.
1st time - 11am fetal specialist midwife in clinic was told she would call me.
2nd time - 2pm she's on lunch she will call you when she's back.
3rd time - 2.30pm she rang me saying results take upto 21 days so won't know till end of next week.

Puzzled as tests were carried out 3 weeks ago = 21 days??

4th time - 3pm phoning to check 21 working days?? Midwife will call u back
5th time - 4.45pm as she hadn't called me since I last rang at 3pm! She will call u back
6th time - 5.10pm 21 working days she said........ However the hospital didn't send off mine and dh blood sample (to rule out our cells from amniotic fluid) until 19th April (1 week after amnio) So 21 days (not working days) from 19th April, is may 10th.

I will be 20 weeks next week HmmConfusedHmm

I'm losing my mind!!! ConfusedConfusedConfusedConfusedConfusedConfused

RnB · 01/05/2012 22:27

Oh Winnie Sad You poor thing! Surely you should be a priority! Really feeling for you...

Emmiedarling · 02/05/2012 08:28

Oooooh thanks for all my flowers & biscuits. Very much appreciated!! :-)

Still no movement here - in terms of being stuck in bed. TBH I'm starting to struggle with it all now. Pain is excruciating and I can not sop throwing up. Think it's a mixture of the bean and the meds that's mak

Emmiedarling · 02/05/2012 08:33

Sorry pressed button too soon!

As I was saying, baba and meds making me throw up..

Anyhow, trying to stay positive and am occupying myself by looking at reviews of all the baby gadgets in the world.

Oh goodness Willow- what a polava! So frustrating.

Hope you all have good days. X

GizzyBoo · 02/05/2012 09:24

Morning ladies.

Well my relaxing day in the sun yesterday was cut short seconds after posting as I was called in to cover pre-school. Got home, fed the kids then it was back out for DD's options evening at school.

Winnie you must be beside yourself with frustration. It is wrong of them to keep you waiting so long. I would contact the PALS service and put a wee complaint in.

emmie I think being stuck in bed would be great....for the first 2 days and then boredom would set in. I really hoping you feel better soon. Constant pain is no fun and the worry can't help either.

Hi and welcome LovelyWeatherForDucks. Nice to see another new face.

Anyone else not finding out the gender at the 20 week/gender scan?? Hubby and the kids wanted to but I didn't. Got outvoted but then declared I won anyway with my special Vadge vote Blush So we are going to keep it a surprise.

I want a doppler babybrain. I am hoping someone takes the hint and gets me one for my birthday later on this month.

I had a mini strop last week over prams and buggies. I so wanted a Quinny Buzz. Just because Blush It is totally impractical as where we live really requires a robust off roader. We are surrounded by hills and beaches, not smooth paths and roads. Anyway, we have been given a really lovely urban detour with car seat in fabulous condition which is great. But I don't want it......it's not the pretty Quinny is it Blush It really is the most practical buggy for us but I can't get over my irrational strop at not getting my Quinny.
Hormones are doing my head in BlushBlush

pinpan I've uploaded the elephant pic onto my profile page for you to covet Wink

LoopyLa · 02/05/2012 09:30

Gizzyboo we were going to find out the flavour of our baby as I'm very impatient person but thinking in the last few days that actually, maybe we won't...DH is happy to go with what I want. Of course, I may change my mind agin before the next scan Hmm

Welcome Lovely Smile

Emmie I'm afraid that sounds like the pits Sad Can the doctor not give you anything for the sickness? Take care of yourself.

GizzyBoo · 02/05/2012 09:37

Awwwww loopy that is one cute nellie.
Our wee button get sent a sweet little giraffe comforter thing from my mum for easter. Its like the top of a teddy surrounded by fabric for them to hold/rub. I am going to start sleeping with it near the end of pregnancy so it gets my smell. I am hoping the baby will take to it Grin

The cats have left me 2 half eaten mice on the door step this morning Envy errrr thanks cats!

CaptainHetty · 02/05/2012 09:49

We both want to find out the sex of Flump so hopefully they'll be able to see at our 20 week scan (which is 2 weeks today - ridiculously excited already :o )

Emmie I hope the sickness wears of soon, poor thing :( can the doctor not give you medication to ease the sickness? When I was pregnant with my third and being sick constantly they offered to come out and give me some anti-sickness thing.

Emmiedarling · 02/05/2012 12:50

Hello! I have had a few anti-sickness pills but unfortunately, I keep sicking them up! (sorry tmi)

I don't think things are helped with the morphine im taking for the pain.

CaptainHetty - I was desperate to find out the sex. So excited when i did as now I can feel I can plan 'properly!'

I also re-read my post from earlier and noticed I called Winnie, Willow - oppsie. Sorry! Im blaming baby brain!

newtonupontheheath · 02/05/2012 13:14

Oh Gizzy I'm not finding out the sex Grin we like a surprise in this house, DP and I are in full agreement...despite our relatives moaning on at us! Glad I didn't have use my Vadge vote on this one! (not sure what other scenario I can use that phrase, so will steal it here for now!)

Oh poor Emmie I bet you're an expert on everything baby related now. Can you maybe show Gizzy all the reasons why a Quinny is a bad idea to make her feel a bit better?

In all honesty, the Quinny Buzz always gets bad reviews onn here. Very few people like them. And believe me I have looked! I really wanted one after my friend got one for her DD (I was v jealous at the time!) But, they are so wide and clunky and the wheel now needs a good kick. And this is inner city, so walking on pavements etc. Taking apart to put in the car is a faff! A similar style is the my3/4 from mothercare. They are made by the same company but have fewer parts and are lighter and narrower. Still probably not practical for the great outdoors though! I do understand what its like to want it though, despite there being better things out there!

Well, me this week...wrote a long post with an update about the lovely sunset at the back of our house on Monday. Similar to this which was taken down the road (obviously big gas thing wasn't in the way! Just thought I'd share as that was what was coming through my bathroom as I had a lovely long soak as the boring football was on at the time DP's sister is waiting a couple of weeks for a scan to check all is ok with her pregnancy. It's a tough time, but she seems to be coping well hassling me about the wedding

My bloody Isabella Oliver Order hasn't arrived yet Angry I rang yesterday and they said it should be here "this week" Great. I'll just wear a bin liner until then shall I?!

What doppler did you buy Babybrain ? £20 is a bargain I definitely need one now!

And finally, welcome to Lovely Grin

Bubblebell1 · 02/05/2012 13:59

Hi girls. Hope your well.
gizzy I'm not a fan on the buzz either. I'm looking at the babystyle oyster. It has some fab colours.

Newton my Doppler is an angelsounds 1. It's brilliant. Was £25 new from eBay. I can find babies heartbeat straightaway not had any problems with it and he kids love hearing her.

I've come down with sinusitis. I just know it's going to go to my Chest and I'm dreading it as I won't be able to have steroids for my asthma and can only take paracetamol Sad really sucks. Sad
