So glad I'm not the only one! 8lbs in 8 weeks! WTF? I guess it doesn't help that I seem to be enjoying not watching what I eat for the first time in years. Really want to eat properly but crisps, cakes and biscuits taste so good ...

Emmiedarling · 13/04/2012 20:38

Update on me: I'm still in hospital. Had my cervical stitch put in on Wednesday morning. I had a general anesthetic and when I woke up, I was in agony. Absolute agony.

Three days later im hooked up to an 'on demand' morphine drip. I've also managed to get a kidney infection. Oh and thrush.

Not enjoying life right now!

Re. Weight gain - I totally win. Ive gained 2 stone. 28 pounds. Yes siry!

MsInterpret · 13/04/2012 22:45

Oh no, Emmie! You poor thing, what a nightmare... Thanks for your bedside table. Thinking of you - keep us updated if you can.

Emmiedarling · 14/04/2012 02:05

Thank you thunderbolt kid & misinterpret. Loving the bedside table flowers!

Infection is causing complications but I'm now on antibiotics.Hopefully the worst is over.

Going to try to drift off now. Hope you all are already asleep.
Much love x

pinpan · 14/04/2012 02:35

Sending quick recovery thoughts at you, Emmie. Hope you have drifted off nicely, but it's the middle of the day here so just shout if you need company!

So glad it's the weekend. :) I seem to have some nesting instinct today, which is long overdue because our house is a MESS. Hey ho. I've got 23 weeks to sort it out, right? So there's still time to chill out and finish off my easter egg...

LoopyLa · 14/04/2012 07:06

Been awake since 5.30 also - fine if I have to get up for work, not fine at all at weekends Angry

Winnie81 · 14/04/2012 08:19

Morning,
Emmie I'm sending hugs to you. Hope your recovery is quick now x

My house is in a mess too, we had our house rewired last year and we just had the boiler changed last weekend. I've given dh a deadline of July to finish the whole house. We are replacing all door linings and doors too, then making good all chases from electrics! We have also got to do our kitchen Confused

Bubblebell1 · 14/04/2012 08:31

Morning girls.
emmie hope your feeling better soon x

Just wondered if any of you are dizzy? Last few days I've had a terrible headache and dizziness, occasionally I get black spots in my vision and Constantly feel thirsty too.

15 weeks today Grin

pinpan · 14/04/2012 10:39

I'm suffering from dizziness too, bubble, and I've had a fair number of headaches lately. The dizziness for me is dropping blood pressure - not sure how low blood pressure is allowed to go before they make you stay sitting down with your feet in the air? Grin

Beeblebear · 14/04/2012 15:42

Emmie , best wishes and hope you feel better soon and can go home.

Bubble , I get dizzy spells too but mostly when I stand up from sitting our laying down. My dr have me two suggestions to help with this. First, wiggle legs and types before ypu stand up.. Secondly, if you get dizzy, either bend over and lean on something, which sometimes can be awkward (picture walking back to your table from the rest room in a busy restaurant) OR he said, do what fighter pilots do in high g manouvers. tense up your leg and stomach muscles. This helps keep the blood in your upper half. Works like a darn for me!

On rhe push chairs (or as we canadians call them strollers) definately see what you can BBS (Beg Borrow or Steal) from others. Even if you borrow for a short while you will get a chamce to see what you really want or need.

H aad dr appt yesterday. he should be referring me to rhe clinic by the hospital, will start appointments there at about 24 weeks. He listened for the heart beat, and although the machine was registering the bpm, we could not hear it (largely due to my gurgling gut-gross)
a little disappointed.

MissRedIndie · 14/04/2012 15:51

hello ladies, sorry I've been AWOL for ages! Been on holiday in Mallorca for a couple of weeks, restful enough apart from following 18 mo DD round all day. I swear having a DC already is the thing that keeps the weight off, 13 weeks and I've put on 2.5lbs (with DD I had put on about 7lbs by this point in the pregnancy!).

Emmie, hope you're feeling better and they let you home soon. Enjoy the morphine drip though!

Had my scan yesterday, all good! DH cried, the big girl Wink I really feel like I can relax and start enjoying it now though, I don't remember being this nervous with DD! Good luck to the last few remaining scans next week, it's very exciting!

Hi ladies (waving) Hope you're all managing to enjoy your weekend :)
Have finally finished work for this week thank goodness next week is a little quieter as I am EXHAUSTED!!!

Emmie hope you make a speedy recovery & can soon go back to your home comforts,we're here for you if you need to sound off!!

Re-dizziness,not had any major spells to speak of,but have seen stars ona few occasions when I've moved or got up quickly but I think that is quite normal from the extra blood that is being surged through our bodies!!

MissPollysTrolleyed · 14/04/2012 16:25

Best wishes for a speedy recovery Emmie.

Pinpan and Bubble I also have really low blood pressure. Apparently similar to the levels one would expect of someone who was unconscious last time I was checked by the midwife! I get dizzy if I stand still so can't do queues at all.

My Dottie Perkins order arrived today; the stuff wasn't nice at all. The sizes came up huge and the quality and fit was poor. It's all going back so that's £50 saved. Hope you ladies made better choices than I did.

Emmiedarling · 14/04/2012 16:27

I wish I had some news - well I do, but it isn't all that great. My catheter is still in and my kidney infection seems to have worsened slightly. Anyway. I'm desperate to go home so fingers crossed on tomorrow!

I like Hearing all your news. It's so depressing in here - in gynae ward but I'm the over flow bay so the rest of the room are very poorly old people who have had falls or got dementia. Not pleasant! (the lady opposite had been shouting that I'm an intruder all morning)

On the plus side I have been looking at baby things on my iPhone! Plenty of time to peruse over prams etc!

MissPollysTrolleyed · 14/04/2012 16:27

Welcome back MissRedIndie. I am researching holidays at the moment. My DC is 20 months. What was the weather like in Menorca?

I didn't post here for a few weeks and disappeared off the list too. They'd jump in your grave, this lot Grin.

DameFlatYouLent · 14/04/2012 19:04

Emmie that sounds awful Sad I hope things get better quickly now. It's miserable being on an overflow medical ward - good luck tonight with the dementia lady. Hope you get some sleep.

MissPolly Shock at your low blood pressure! I have a killer combination of low BP and low pulse rate (in the 50s generally), so if I stand for any period of time I tend to hit the deck. The last time was in front of my boss at work Blush My job involves being on my feet for much of the day, and having to fight with lots of different people (many of whom see themselves as "above" me in the pecking order) for a seat at any time. I find it quite tricky!

My DP arrived today too. Was hoping to wear a dress to a wedding but it looks a bit cheap and crappy. 2 things going back, keeping 2 basic vest-type tops. Not a disaster, but it means the hunt for the dress is still on...gawd I hate clothes shopping.

MsInterpret · 14/04/2012 21:29

Hope everyone's having a good weekend. I am sat here on my laptop for the third evening in a row working doing prep for Monday back at school. Doesn't feel like Saturday night! My choice i suppose as I had a lovely week not thinking about work at all. Bliss Smile

In defence of people dropping off the list Wink - some people agreed that it was a good idea to start a new list since there were lots of people who posted at first and weren't now. Obviously for many different reasons, but some of those reasons might be bad news and these posters might prefer not having a reminder on the thread every few posts.

megan238 · 14/04/2012 21:30

Hi all,
im 14 weeks and due on the 11th october. Was hoping like several sites ive read i would have more energy now in my second trimester - thats just not the case. Still feeling so tired! How bout everyone else?

MsInterpret · 14/04/2012 21:31

Dame - if you find any good mat dresses suitable for weddings keep me posted. I;ll do the same. I have a wedding at end of June where i have to do a speech Shock so NO chance of fading into the background. Plus will be lots of old uni people there so definitely do not want to look like a blimp!
