I get a pain in my left hip sometimes if I've been sat down and then when I get up I can't walk properly and get a shooting pain... Am sure it's normal?? Hmm

GizzyBoo · 05/04/2012 08:39

I think it is all normal. It is all the ligaments softening and stretching. I wake often in the night and have to chop and change which side I am sleeping on as I get achy hips.

Its all so glamorous isn't it GrinGrin

Ha ha I'm the same always around 2 ish but fall back asleep then again about 4 but can't get back asleep end up drifting back off about 6 then got to get up at 7 i defo think it's the baby getting you used to night feeds ha ha

Pezzina · 05/04/2012 11:16

Morning all,

I am also getting pains - mainly in my left hip. Last night was particularly bad. Going to be a struggle to stay awake today. I agree Tennerlady I definitely think the baby is getting us used to limited sleep!

I'm getting a boy vibe - will be interesting to look back on all our predictions when we all know for sure.

We had some wonderful news yesterday - the offer we had made on a house has been accepted! (The first house we wanted to buy had fallen through... they took the house off the market just three weeks till completion) Anyway, this house is our dream house - its absolutely perfect AND it has a chicken coop in the back garden. So excited and are pushing to be completed and moved before we go on holiday at the end of May.

MakeTeaNotWar · 05/04/2012 11:18

Sorry bubble for laughing at your discomfort but picturing myself trying to wobble along with a sore right hip and sore left heel has really made me giggle! I get up at 5.30 for work and don't normally sleep past that at weekends yet DD can sleep til 9 or 10 am!

GizzyBoo · 05/04/2012 11:41

Excellent news Pezzina. Must be such a relief. And a chook house! I love my chooks. I need some more Grin
Have just been laughing as one of my ladies is stood on the wall outside the living room window shouting at me to let me know she has just laid an egg Grin....they are such clever ladies Grin

Tea how on earth do you get up at that time every day ShockShock
I think it would actually kill me if I had to do that!!

MakeTeaNotWar · 05/04/2012 11:59

it kills me too gizzy but the end is in sight - roll on August!

LoopyLa · 05/04/2012 13:41

MakeTea I also am up at 5.30 everyday so can completely sympathise! Often at the weekends I don't wake any later than 6.30am either so am just in a constant fog of sheer exhaustion! Sad

ALERT, NON BABY QUESTION So, all you beautiful bakers out there - for a first-timer, what basics do I need for baking cakes? I may as well attempt some domestic goddess-ness now before Bubba H arrives. And bearing in mind, my kitchen is teeny so don't have room for stacks of gadgets.... Confused

GizzyBoo · 05/04/2012 13:51

Loopy I don't have a food processor or anything like that. I just have a £5 electric whisk from asda but it does the job and fits in a drawer. That is the only gadget I use. I am a very basic wizz it all up together and stick it in the oven sort of baker though......I don't do faffing Blush I have a couple of silicone loaf tins that I use for both cakes and bread and a silicone cake tin. You can squish them up and keep them in a plastic tub.

I am, however, queen of yorkshire puds Grin

I really am Nigella GrinGrin

Ahhh... Purchased a memory foam mattress topper for the bed because my back was aching like craaazy. Never slept so well as I did the last couple of nights :o

Someone mentioned pain in their heel... Is it the bottom of your heel? As in, the sole of you foot? Because since Sunday I've had a pain in the bottom of my foot, feels fine when I'm sat still but when I put weight on it it hurts like mad. Seems slightly better with my trainers on, presumably because it's well supported, but have no idea what's causing it.

Hope you're all doing well.

xx

Excuse me......Recipe for hot cross buns please Thunder Grin

Hetty I have a memory foam mattress but I am finding it too firm. I cant afford to buy another so am going to try putting a quilt over the top of it I think and see if that helps.

All this talk of baking is making my arse expand! Not even eaten any! Blush
My problem is the mixture, I find it hard to bake it and not eat it! Blush
Yes captain it is the bottom of my foot. Bloody agony when I walk so have started walking on tip toe. Lol doesn't help the pain in my hip tea or how ridiculous I look when I walk Grin

I thought 7.30am was early. Defiantly couldn't manage 5.30!!!

elvislives2012 · 05/04/2012 20:49

Wow this thread moves so quickly I can't keep up! It's 8.30 and I'm tucked up in bed..... bet I'm not the only one!
Managed to get my scan bought forward to 14 weeks, just inside the 14+1 window for nuchal scan. Receptionist so rude! Said it wasn't her fault and they weren't obliged to do it! Silly woman, you'd have thought she would have had some experience with hormonal pregnant women...! :o
Thank goodness for the Easter weekend. Bring on the chocolate gorging until I'm sick healthy and nutritious snacks.

GizzyBoo · 05/04/2012 21:12

Grin elvis that made me chuckle.
I don't often post in the evenings. Evenings are for snuggling Blush

I am drinking alcohol free beer and watching OBEM. The beer is far better than the wine I had last week. I miss the squiffy feeling though Grin

Bubble, I've got a sore heel too! I bruised the bone about six months ago (a dangerous combination of a bog and the top of a mountain) and it grumbled for ages whenever I carried any weight in a rucksack and then stopped. Now it hurts again - I haven't put on any weight yet, but I guess I am slumping around more or something. Stupid joints. We're all going to have some awesome times complaining in another month or four!

Loopy, I left my lovely kenwood chef in a box when I moved overseas, but bought a handheld electric mixer pretty sharpish to save on elbow work when beating cakes into submission. It's a life saver. Apart from that, Thunder is right, scales and a bowl and spoon, and something to cook it in. I like my loaf tin and my two sandwich tins the best, and you can probably get them from Tesco for tuppence ha'penny. Oh, and some baking paper to line the tins and save on washing up, and maybe a cooling rack. And some tupperware to put it in, or a plate to eat it all off. Grin

Right, I'm off on my holidays for the weekend. Have a very happy Easter, everybody!

elvislives2012 · 05/04/2012 21:17

Sounds like mine only water is my 'tipple' of choice- hardcore! I am watching OBEM too. It's my first time and I've avoided it in case it scares me! puts on brave face
Good grief I'm 32!

GizzyBoo · 05/04/2012 21:33

Have a lovely holiday weekend pinpan Smile

Emmiedarling · 05/04/2012 23:47

GucciGirl. My weight is freaking me out!!!! I just seem to be growing in all directions.

Not much going on my end. Bascially just preparing for my Cervical operation on Wednesday.

Very nervous!

Maternity clothes update: asos order came and everything is lovely. New Look: Really disappointed - the quality sucks.

Awaiting a couple of things from Topshop.

Much love all. xxx

Beeblebear · 06/04/2012 03:43

Well it seems like I am a little late on this today, but this is my public service announcement:

If your pants are tight and uncomfortable, and you may think it's too early, or people (mothers) have been telling you it's too early to need bigger clothes, or you have been thinking of just getting a size bigger in what yoGbu usually wear....

GO BUY SOME MATERNITY PANTS! You will not regret it.

I went to the mall today and after shopping the entire mall of regular stores, brokedown and went in the maternity store, tried on the pants, and in case you can't tell i'm sold!

That is all.

RnB · 06/04/2012 06:41

I agree, I bought some jeans in H&M and they are sooooo comfortable! I couldn't believe it. They are the over-bump style (straight leg) and look great too. The cashier told me to always go one size up with the H&M Mama jeans as apparently they are very small sizes. I did, and they fit perfectly.

Bubblebell1 · 06/04/2012 06:48

Congrats in the scan gucci
emmie I'm a fatty too. Wink good luck with your cervical stitch. Luckily for me my cervix was adequate and I won't need 1. Will be thinking of you.

Bubblebell1 · 06/04/2012 06:52

onyour scan Confused

pin It hurts so much doesn't it! I've got this pain in the top of my thigh too, unlike my heel that doesn't hurt when I'm resting this kills all the time.

Anyone else not got any pregnancy symptoms? Mine have disappeared over night. Hmm
