We didn't get a proper look at the 'nub' in ours. In one of the photos there's something that could be a nub, but it's not very clear. If it is the nub then going by the theory it looks like a girl. Chinese calendar says boy for us Confused. We'll wait for the 20w scan for confirmation though, as much fun as the guessing games are!

Bubblebell1 · 04/04/2012 11:15

I specifically asked the sonographer to show me the nub. My lil beans unbilical cord was in the way so we couldn't get a look. Will have to wait til the 20 week scan too.
Funny how different ppl guess. I am a completely different shape to the last time. Intact I just look fat. Bum had got huge and face too. With the last 2 pregnancies I lost weight and you couldn't tell I was pregnant from the back! I still have boy vibes tho Wink

Do any of you have a vibe either way? X

GizzyBoo · 04/04/2012 12:45

I have a feeling I have a pink one in there. No idea why other than I have had the same dream twice where I have given birth to a girl who weighed 10lb 14oz Shock I kept saying in my dream she looked like a wee hippo BlushGrin

I have some really painful stretching going on. This is normal, yes?? Sometimes when I move (quickly or awkwardly. Especially after sitting for a while) I get a searing pain inside then it is sore for a while afterwards. I had a tummy tuck almost 7 years ago and am wondering if I have a fair amount of scar tissue in there. I keep thinking if I am this sore already how on earth am I gonna feel in a few weeks/months time.
I am also having some pelvic/upper thigh pain. Today I am mostly feeling old and fat Blush

Ah good old second trimester feels great but then - and sorry to those of you who did suffer - but I didn't have any MS to begin with. I am really enjoying bump and looking more obviously prego.

All of my friends seem to have had 2 of the same sex so I'm thinking that it's another girl but either way, we genuinely don't have a preference.

Beeblebear · 04/04/2012 13:51

Good mirning all. Back from my trip to the mountains. The drive was terrible, luckily I was passenger ing. Went for a adopter walk with the whole family but no hiking. Was so tired. 10 hour drive took a lot put of me.

,Tolf my extended family, so that was fun.

Hope you all are dping well. Glad to hear about the healthy scans. 5 more days until mine, wow that seems close now.

I'm thinking boy.

I know this sounds ridiculous but can anyone tell me how many weeks I am if my due date is 23/09? According to the Babycentre app I'm 14+4, but Pregnology says I'm 15+3. Hmm

RnB · 04/04/2012 16:24

oh please ignore me, my settings on Babycentre were wrong! I'm 15+3 :)

DameFlatYouLent · 04/04/2012 16:26

Nub? What's a nub? I didn't see a nub but then we have a very wriggly baby who was not playing ball at all. I'm thinking girl - she played hard to get right through the scan Grin

Low blood pressure has hit today - nearly passed out in front of my manager which was a bit embarrassing. I remember this from last time - I can't stand for too long at a time. Pain in the proverbial.

I seem to have fallen off the list on the way, so am adding myself if that's ok

I'm glad i'm not only one getting pains mine have just been on left side though.

I'm not sure what gender we are having, there hasn't been a male born into my maternal family for nearly 40years, rest of both our families is roughly equal mix. So am I going to break tradition and have a boy or stick with tradition and have a girl?

Work are in process of really altering my role starting in a few weeks. They are well practised as I am number 6 who has got pg. The first 3 or 4 have given birth already though.

GizzyBoo · 04/04/2012 16:56

Thanks Thunder I don't remember it being this sore this early before. Oh, and I would like your job please Grin

Cakes mine are mainly left sided too Hmm

Welcome back Beeble and good luck for your scan.

Pinpan I need a new cake recipe please. I have made 3 lemon cakes in the last 2 days. I have never baked a cake I am good at before BlushGrin

Newton I never answered your question. This will be my first home birth. Brought on mainly as I don't want to go off island to deliver so the only other option is home. Most people go away and stay in accommodation from 37 weeks and return once they have had the baby. I hate being away from hubby Blush and so figured it was best to stay here. I am very much looking forward to it though. DD has all sorts of plans on how she can help. She has asked if she can cut the cord too. I am looking to buy a pool too.

Well it is my #1 baby's 15th birthday today Shock How on earth did that happen??? Where have the last 15 years gone?? Its scary stuff I tells ya!

pinpan · 04/04/2012 18:44

Gizzy, you have but to ask... We instigated a cake club at work, to address the sore lack of cake in our lives. I'm a bit lax at putting the recipes online, but there's most of a couple of years worth [http://dangerousdesserts.wordpress.com/ here]. I don't think we've ever had a bad week!

Sort of glad to hear everyone else is feeling stretching pains. Mine have mostly been on the right hand side, and not really bad, but bad enough that I have a couple of brain cells thinking about them in the background most of the time. Blush

I'm officially second trimester too, and it seems to be alright so far. Less sick but more dizzy, less tired but less able to go to sleep (have been awake since half four today), more excitement but no less worry!

pinpan · 04/04/2012 18:45

Dammit, need two sets of square brackets. Cake club here!

Bubblebell1 · 04/04/2012 18:59

Aww happy birthday to gizzys Ds1 Grin

dame the nub is the area that becomes the boys or girls bits. If you google nub theory you may get a better explanation but apparently if the nub is parallel to the spinal cord it's a girl and if it has an angle it's a boy Hmm

Evening all. Hope all is good. Just got my scan date thru for the nuchal fold thingy and its not until I'm 14+3. Seems really late to me :/ :(

GizzyBoo · 04/04/2012 19:49

Pinpan that is awesome.....thanks Smile

Thanks Bubble

elvis that is too late for the nuchal scan. That has to be done before 13+6. I would give them a wee ring if I was you to clarify.

elvislives2012 · 04/04/2012 19:50

gizzy that's what I thought too! I am gonna give someone a bloody good ringing tomorrow!

I apologize for my earlier atrocious spelling - was on mobile and in a hurry.

Well it's official - my work pants no longer fit. Was down to one snap last week, and now this afternoon I had to break down and unclasp the lower snap as well. 11+5 Blush

pinpan · 04/04/2012 22:03

Good luck with the ringing, elvis - give 'em a stern talking to.

One of the girls at work was pleased to confirm my expecting-ness yesterday - she said she had wondered last week after seeing me slumped at afternoon tea, but you know, the founder of cake club starts looking a bit chubby, you've got to be careful not to ask rude questions!

Can't... wait... for the... long weekend...

GizzyBoo · 05/04/2012 07:22

GizzyBoo · 05/04/2012 07:44

OK.....you win Grin

It's grim though eh! I am up at least twice a night for a pee and then awake again early. No wonder I am falling asleep by 9pm on the sofa!

Bubblebell1 · 05/04/2012 08:21

Oh girls yuck that's early. Tonight was the first night I slept through. I'm normally awake 2am til 5am then manage to doze off just before the alarm goes off.

Loving my maternity jeans but not loving the size of my bumBlush babies don't even grow there. Lol. What's going on.

I've got pain in my right hip and left heel. Confused it's really difficult to walk without looking stupid.
