Hi all,

Just adding myself back on the list. Have been catching up on everyones news. Will definitely be giving Pinpan's lemon cake a go.

Have just had to order some maternity clothes - went to get my old stuff out of the loft and couldn't find it anywhere. Gutted as I actually liked the stuff I bought last time round and really didn't want to have to buy anything else.... I bet I find it all when we move!

I LOVE lemon cake!! However, cant be arsed to make it lol baking is not really my forte, anyone fancy delivering me some??!! :)

Have also succomed to maternity clothes as of yesterday,& I dont ever want to take them off!!!

Feeling absolutely knackered today so much so I dont have the energy to do dinner or even peel myself off the sofa, think I may try for a kip.

Went to do neighbours hair this morning & she started asking if I was ever going to have any kids & I gave her a bit of a non fussed answer though not sure she was convinced as I'm sure she was looking at my belly/bump & may have seen I have maternity jeans on lol

I seem to have fallen off the list as well, and as I've now had two scans confirming my EDD, I'll add myself in:

I've ordered a maternity coat from the Next sale, it's my first maternity purchase this time around. It's more for later in the year when I'm bigger and the weather is getting cooler, but it was a bargain :) DD was born in March so most of my maternity clothes are for winter, so I'll need a few T-shirts and vests for holidays and (hopefully) decent summer weather. Also shorts and a maternity swimsuit. That'll be flattering, I'm sure HmmGrin

LoopyLa · 02/04/2012 18:08

Hey ladies, how are we all?

After a completely crap week last week (almost boked while doing a team presentation Shock ) I've been feeling totally groovy the last few days Smile

So much that I invested in some maternity clothes from Dotty P's - they have 30% off everything until midnight tonight & free delivery if you spend over £75...which I managed to...somehow Hmm Grin

LoopyLa · 02/04/2012 18:11

Oh and still don't have a bloody scan date!!! Angry

Midwives and hospitals are basically blaming each other & not sorting it out so I have to go through the inconvenience of another booking appt!!! Grrrr! Why do I have to sort this out when it's not my job to?!!

And breathe...Hmm Grin

Emmiedarling · 02/04/2012 18:55

I recieved my asos order of maternity clothes just a second ago. Fairly impressed as most of the stuff I've seen is tres unflattering/dowdy. I got three black dresses & some gym Trackies for lounging. I went for an 8 though I haven't tried them yet. Will have to report back.

Oooh Dorothy Perkins. Need to check that out. New look is pretty good too - I don't go for there stuff normally, but their range seems fairly decent.

I had a total break down in the park yesterday. Some lady told me my dog was out of control & that I shouldn't have one. I burst into tears and shouted 'I'm pregnant!!!'

Haha.

Kelbells · 02/04/2012 19:11

Hi ladies!

I haven't been on here since very soon after my BFP... I had a bit of a freak out that I was going to have another mc and after a bit of drama (bleeding mainly) I definitely have a very wriggly, bouncy little baby hidden inside me and I'm starting to relax a bit now!!
I've been lurking on a daily basis and it's great to see we all have similar worries and magic moments in common! You've all been such a support... Even though you didn't know!! Anyway.... I'm off to grab myself a sale bargain or two for my expanding waistline... Just wanted to let you know I'm still here and will be back soon.... could someone add me to the list again as I'm on my phone??

Kelbells - DC1 - edd - 15th October

newtonupontheheath · 02/04/2012 19:12

No shops Gizzy but what do you do at 10pm when you need ice cream/ cake/salt and vinegar crisps???

I'm itching to buy more maternity clothes but have one pile from last pregnancy and one bag from a friend so really only need a couple of tops but might treat myself on pay day Grin

So it seems I'm the only person that hasn't told most people. I'm a bit cautious due to mmc in November and whilst I'm less anxious now, I'm worried about getting upset if people are too nice to me when I tell them. I know it's silly but pregnancy hormones etc etc etc Maybe next week!!

newtonupontheheath · 02/04/2012 19:15

X-post with Kel ...

Sorry to hear you've had a rough time but sooo glad to see you over here!

GizzyBoo · 02/04/2012 19:23

newton if you need anything past 8pm you are stuffed Grin
You are pretty much stuffed some days anyway if the weather is bad and the ferry can't come in! Or like today, as we have had a sudden influx of the tourist types and co-op looks like it has been ram raided Grin Delivery tonight though so it will be a race to the milk and bread at 8am tomorrow morning Grin

I need a little sit down after that revelation Gizzy I have lived in Manchester all my life and take all that unnecessary stuff for granted! Very materialistic of me... Or is that just the pregnancy food cravings?! Wink

Glad to see you, Kel!

Newton, don't worry about welling up - I've teared up on pretty much everyone I've told. It's amazing what waving your hands around and muttering "hormones" will get you away with at the moment... Though I had an amusing moment yesterday when I saw a colleague I was doing work with about 6 weeks ago, and he asked tenderly whether my tummy bug was better. I said, "ah, yes, I have a confession about that, it was actually morning sickness," with a great big Grin. He was most congratulatory.

We didn't have much late opening either when I first arrived in the South Island, Gizzy - it used to drive me mad that even the main shops in town shut at 4 pm on a Saturday and most were shut on Sunday. Then they all fell down in the earthquake last year and we got used to no town at all. Hmm Now everyone goes to the malls!

Oh and Gucci I am no baker. In fact I only go all domesticated and homely when pregnant Blush but that cake was mega easy. A bung it all in and whizz it up affair. It is so light and fluffy but lovely and moist also.
I shall make another today pinpan and send it to the outlaws to prove I can be a housey housewife after all Grin

OP posts:
LoopyLa · 03/04/2012 09:40

Good luck babybrain!! Envy

I've finally got a scan date!!! In fact, I have 2 Grin due to all the cock-ups! Somehow I have to wait patiently for 2 weeks...tick tock tick tock... Hmm It'll be on the 17th April - 4 days before my birthday so it better be good news otherwise that will suck!

And yes, can someone send me some lemon cake too??!! I'm definitely going out to M&S to buy the closest substitute. I don't even own a mixing bowl or food processor Blush although to be fair I have a kitchen the size of a postage stamp so not much room to put anything anyway!

Thunderboltkid I've finally invested in a doppler whatsit too - from the same seller you used Smile Thank you so much for the link, I figure at 10 wks I've got a good chance of hearing something and it may save me from being stricken down by THE FEAR in the meantime! (who said that earlier in the thread, it's brilliant!).

Emmie sorry to hear about your breakdown but frankly, shouting "I'm pregnant!!!" at a woman completely absolves you of all guilt & shame! Plus it made me chuckle a little - sorry Blush Grin

Guccigirl79 · 03/04/2012 09:55

Gizzy I may rope my sis in law to do me a cake lol I just cant be arsed ( how bone idle am I?!) failing that will buy one,I know it's satisfactory to bake one it's just something I can only do if & when the mood takes me,which isn't often & even then it's out of a packet!!! What a bad wifey I am lol

DameFlatYouLent · 03/04/2012 10:21

Morning all, will be leaving for scan in approx 30mins when a lovely person comes to look after DS for me.

Got cold sweats - haven't had time to think of it much because DS has had a really nasty gastro virus for last 4 days. There's nothing like cleaning up sick and washing diarrhoea-covered clothes to take your mind off things Hmm Poor little DS is just skin and bones - it's hard to think about the pregnancy when I'm worried about him.

But this morning I've suddenly been hit with the conviction that something's wrong with the pregnancy. Trying to think positive...not long to wait now, after all!

See you all on the other side!

GizzyBoo · 03/04/2012 10:36

Good luck Dame I'm sure it will all be just fine. I too started to think I had imagined it all the morning of my scan. I think its normal to suddenly be worried about the reality.
Look forward to hearing from you later Smile

YAY for scan news Loopy that date will be here in no time Smile

Bubblebell1 · 03/04/2012 10:41

Hey girls. Hope all is well.

Good luck with your scans today dame and babybrain

pinpan · 03/04/2012 11:32

Good luck with the scans, people!

Glad the lemon cake is going down so well. Grin I may have to make myself another one soon.

I think it might have been me that mentioned The Fear... I used to do a bit of am dram stage show stuff, and The Fear was very important - it was the point at which you realised that it really was happening, and you better take it seriously. Not so far off the mark for these pregnancy shenanigans either!
