Congrats on the scans! I am feeling so much better now - whoop whoop! The sickness has almost gone!

I have a Rex, CaptainHetty. He loves his name and there are no others at his school Smile

I will definitely go for something Greek or Roman again. Was thinking of Atticus for a boy (see very long, contentious thread in Baby Names Wink), but some pointed out it was too similar to my daughters name, so am back to the drawing board...

Bear1984 · 28/03/2012 09:38

Hello all! I'm off to the scan this afternoon! I'm really excited, and hoping all is well. Can't wait to finally tell DD.

I'm full of a horrible cold at the moment that I've had since Saturday, but since Sunday the sickness hasn't been so bad. I've been eating a lot more and not as fussy, so I'm glad about that, but hoping once the cold has gone, the sickness doesn't come back lol.

Also we're off to Paris end of April! Me and DP decided we should have a really "big" last holiday just the three of us before baby comes, so we're taking DD to Disneyland Paris. Looking forward to that now, particularly if I am getting better :)

I had my scan yesterday, and all was fine :) And I might have cried just a wee bit Blush :o

Bubblebell1 · 28/03/2012 11:44

Had my 12 week scan. Baby was waving away. Have some amazing pics. Due date is 6th oct Grin

GizzyBoo · 28/03/2012 11:53

Morning all Smile

What a busy few days. Didn't like Glasgow Blush was far too busy, noisy and hectic for me. We are now back in Oban in a lovely wee hotel waiting for the ferry to take us home tomorrow. I am shattered. There is nothing quite like your own bed eh? Hubby has set me down on a comfy sofa in the lounge/bar with his lappy while he has gone for a wonder. All I am missing is a big fat glass of red Grin

Lovely news form you both Mouse and Bubble It feels so amazing doesn't it. My scan went on forever, had a trainee doc in there who had a go first then the sonographer did the real scan. Flippin heck....I cried too but only cause she was pushing so hard it bloody hurt! Baby wouldn't keep still...tis a lively wee thing. They have put me back a bit but only 3 days so my dates were pretty good. Now due 5th October and am 12+5 Grin

I think I have had enough of the mainland Thunder Blush I must have been born to be an Island girl!

Might check back later if I get chance other wise normality will resume on Friday Smile

TTFN!!

I love the name Atticus, RnB, think I said so on your thread as well. It's a lovely name, but I do kind of have my heart set on Rex for a boy I think. I find girls names much harder (my daughter is called Jessica, my ex named her because he hated everything I liked, I gave up in the end :o )

Congrats on all the good scans ladies, I have mine tomorrow morning (9.05) so I'll pop on and update you all afterwards. Hope everyone is well.

xx

Bear1984 · 28/03/2012 12:07

Thunder she's 9 so will love it. We were going to take her to Florida when she was 10 but that's kind of out the window now so this is the best we can do for her now. She doesn't know yet either. We were thinking of surprising her and just heading there lol.

Glad to hear scans are going well. 2 hours til mine! Eek!

RunningOutOfIdeas · 28/03/2012 13:34

Afternoon All. So pleased to hear everyone's good scan news. Mine ison the 11th - seems ages to wait. At least I have already had one look, at 8 weeks.

MissPenteuth I have also not put on weight. Unfortunately this is due to feeling grim and being forced to stay strictly low fat or risk my gall bladder palying up again.

MakeTea I would not be keen on DH going away for a stag weekend. My DH is often away for work (currently gone for 5 weeks), but I think that is different. He has no choice about going away for work and it brings in money.

DH and I have not discussed names at all and probably won't for a few more months. With DD, we agreed on boys names really easily but only decided on girls names about 3 weeks before she was born.

Bear1984 · 28/03/2012 15:08

And I'm back! So happy. Baby was moving around a lot. Midwife said its very fidgety and happy. Measurements are perfect for our date so all is set for 15th Oct. I had to go empty my bladder though as I was too full funny enough lol.

goodsenseofdirection · 28/03/2012 16:53

Yay for all the positive scans, especially Bubble after all the worry!!

I had mine today too and there is a baby in there!! They revised the edd and it was too early to take the measurements so i have to go back in 10 days but i'm happy all is good for the moment. So today i'm 10+4 with edd of 20 October.

Haven't even really talked about names yet... seems like it'll be difficult to try to get something that works with Swiss and Irish parentage so we're leaving it til a bit later.

McPopcornMouseNFries · 28/03/2012 17:16

We haven't started discussing names either, we'll wait til we know the gender - mainly because I can't see the point in arguing about a boy's name if it turns out to be a girl iyswim :o

Yay bubble that's my new due date too :)

GizzyBoo · 28/03/2012 17:19

Yay more good scan news Grin
The weather is lovely here so I am gonna treat myself to a wee half a shandy and go sit outside and enjoy the sunshine.....
Oh, and I had a Mr Whippy today!....I'm such a rebel!

Emmiedarling · 28/03/2012 17:26

CONGRATS everyone! I have positive news too - scan was awesome! :) Baby was also wriggling like a crazy thing. So exciting! x

GizzyBoo you rebel! I walked past an icecream van and wanted a Mr Whippy also but told myself I couldn't :( Wish id been a rebel too!

LoopyLa · 28/03/2012 18:00

HOORAY for all the happy scans!! I'm well jell!

I don't have a date through still (!!) and when I phoned the midwifery unit at my hospital to say my midwife had booked a scan at a different hospital, they were not happy. It wasn't her fault at all but am now having to try and rebook the scan at the hospital I want. Potentially I could have another flipping booking appr to get my notes on the right hospital system Angry

But hey ho, it's little details and it doesn't bother me, it's just a pain - especially when I can't make any phone calls in the office.

Gizzy being that it was gloriously sunny, I had a Twister lolly and enjoyed every cool, delicious drop!! Grin

goodsenseofdirection · 28/03/2012 18:12

Loopy what a nightmare with the scan and booking appointment. I haven't even had a booking appt yet - but managed to get through last thurs to a kindly midwife at the surgery (they are only there from 1-3 on a thurs afternoon) who booked me an appt at the local hospital. I finally had it confirmed this morning when i went in that it's on Saturday at 12.30 not Friday at 9.30 as i was told over the phone!!! But at least i had the scan. Grin

Apparently there's a baby boom in London at the moment, particularly in Hackney and surrounding areas, so all nhs antenatal services feeling the pressure...

gizzy you've inspired me - i'm going out to get an icecream!

Psammead · 28/03/2012 20:46

Hello everyone!

Hope you are all ok. Been sick as a dog. Hope it's getting better now. Apart from that I'm fine.

I hope everyone is feeling good!

Guccigirl79 · 28/03/2012 21:03

Evening lovely ladies congrats to all those with successful scans today :) only a week left for me to wait now!! I have 2nd trimester envy!!

Been feeling much better throughout the days but tiredness is hitting me like a steam train at night so am shortly off to bed.

Really been enjoying this glorious weather, been off today so decided I was going to do some work in the garden.Went out at 9.30am stopped for a break when my folks popped in for a brew & didnt really stop til 4pm other than for lunch then had to go food shopping,so am bloody knackered now lol on the plus side it looks much better out there lol

Does anyone have app's tomoz??

pinpan · 29/03/2012 05:24

Morning all,

Glad to hear of all the happy scanning that's been going on! I'm seeing my midwife again tomorrow so looking forward to hearing a little heartbeat... There's a baby boom at work it seems, three of us now all due within 2 months. Now I'm wondering who else will succumb!

Is anyone else feeling dizzy? I'm feeling tired but mostly human, except the world is not quite stable most of the time, which is a little unsettling. Oh well, I expect I'll get my blood pressure taken tomorrow. Smile

I thoroughly recommend lemon cake to everyone by the way - lemons, good for sickness, fruit and therefore healthy, plus cake, nuff said. Grin

LoopyLa · 29/03/2012 07:45

Gucci I also have 2nd trimester envy @9+4, lol! Grin

Pinpan I've also had a few dizzy spells and my body was feeling really heavy, very odd. Think it was just one of those things though, my blood pressure is fine.

And thanks for the recommendation!

Hi all! Been lurking for weeks. Posted a few month ago but scared myself so waited til I had my first scan before posting again! Had it yesterday and there wad a baby in there-what a relief. Watched as it did back flips and mooned us! BEST DAY EVER! anyway EDD 16Oct-wo hoo!

pinpan · 29/03/2012 08:39

Good luck with the cake hunt, Loopy! I have an excellent recipe - one of those chuck everything in the food processor and then in the oven affairs, works beautifully every time. Might need to make another one tomorrow, it's almost gone now.

Hooray for back flips, elvis! Mine was leaping around too - think its going to take after DH's hyperactive brother. Grin

Good luck this morning, Thunder

Pinpan there are 4 of us all due within 2 months at work as well, plus the wife of another colleague. All those cheeky Xmas/new Year shaggers! I'm also feeling dizzy - had to go home early yesterday as whole desk was weaving in front of me. Some chocolate and a nap cleared it right up, though

pinpan · 29/03/2012 09:39

Pinpan's ancestral lemon cake recipe

4oz marge
6oz SR Flour
6oz Caster Sugar
4 tbsp milk
2 large eggs
1 lemon zest grated

Sift flour, add other ingredients. Beat for 3 minutes. (I actually never even bother sifting the flour, but it's probably worth it.) Bake for 45 minutes at 160C in 6-7" deep tin. (I use a loaf tin, but it works in a small/medium circular one too.) Warm 3 tbsp caster sugar with 3 tbsp lemon juice to make a glaze, and pour over warm cake. Consume with great pleasure.

Good luck with the scan, thunder.
