Feeling ok-ish. I am past what I class as my danger time now as my last baby had already died at this stage and I never felt any movement. Now I am feeling this one regularly I have calmed down a bit but do still have moments of panic if I haven't felt it for a little while.

MakeTeaNotWar · 06/05/2012 12:38

Sorry to hear that rightontime, at how many weeks did that happen? I'm approaching 20 weeks & haven't felt anything yet, I'm sure I was feeling DD by now. Scan is on Thurs, I have no reason to think anything untoward is going on but will remain anxious until I have that scan. Glad you're feeling reassured now Smile

funchum8am · 06/05/2012 12:41

I am feeling fairly regular movements but nowhere near strong enough to be felt from the outside so DH is having to wait, but then I am only 20 weeks and a bit so behind quite a few of you ladies. Glad to hear scans went well and that you are getting proper care whatever. I have no experience with fibroids but it sounds like they have got you under close monitoring so FX all will be fine.

funchum8am · 06/05/2012 12:41

Sorry the last bit of that message was meant for you mrsmaccas!

mrsmaccas · 06/05/2012 18:57

Thanks funchum8am - hope so. A friend of a friend has them and she's due July so shall see if she has any advice etc.

MissCoffeeNWine · 07/05/2012 11:29

I like the sound of those bracelets. At the moment I am making sure to note when the baby kicks, what I'm doing and so on or mentioning it to people I'm with so I remember it later when I have a panic I haven't felt movement for however many hours. Have to say movement does seem to be slowing down overall, I'd have hours and hours of kick kick kick belly shaking stuff at 16 weeks (early I know) but I'm 22 weeks now and it's more definite deliberate stuff. Also the somersaults have stopped, the baby has one very definite place it likes to lie (transverse, head to the left, body to the right) so I feel all the kicks in the same place, and punches in a slightly different place - I can easily tell what's a kick and whats a punch and whats a stretch. My belly is weird you can pretty much see the shape of the baby under my skin. I am using that fact to worry I don't have enough fluid. The baby has definite sleep patterns too which I find it reassuring to note - wakes up in the morning, sleeps through the afternoon/evening, wakes up in the late evening.

Thank fully the anomaly scan was fine. And I'm still having monthly scans so I only need to wait another three weeks for the next one at 25 weeks.

I had dreams about having a very premature baby last night and some were sad dreams, think it's getting to me. Thankfully I'll be going part time at work at 25/6 weeks to give me more chance to get my head round stuff so I'm looking forward to that now - only 24 days to go!

rightontime · 07/05/2012 13:04

Maketea Last baby was thought to have died shortly after the 20week scan. It was detected at a scan a 24weeks but we had various indicators that something was wrong right from the 12weeks scan. Hope your scan goes well Smile

Glad your anomaly scan went well misscoffee Baby is obviously running out of room now if the somersaults have stopped. This LO has regular waking times too. Not sure exactly what they are as I don't pay that much attention Blush but it is usually awake at 10pm when I am trying to get to sleep. It moves when I change the position I am laying in too. So if I go from side to back I can feel it shifting to get comfy. Glad you are able to reduce your hours at work soon. You need all the rest you can.

mrsmaccas I have a high anterior placenta so all of my movements are felt either in my pubic region or in my bum too! Bump is still harder to my left hand side and lots of kicks (I think) in my left hip. And plenty more movements towards cervix and bum Blush All movements are well below the line of my csection scar which is odd. Means when DP puts his hand on my bump he is miles away from where he would feel any movement.

On another note, I got in the car last night and my belly was hitting the steering wheel Blush Friday night it was fine, I thought DP had moved the seat higher or the wheel lower but no, I seem to have just got huge in 2 days! Anyone else got a whopping bump?

ballroomblitz · 07/05/2012 20:53

The anomaly scan would have picked up if there wasn't enough fluid MissCoffee . I think sometimes the shape of the baby is easier to see if the stomach muscles have relaxed. Maybe that's it?

Have started to feel a lot more kicks and punches throughout the day now, a lot of them aimed at my bum and cervix too. Funny because I sometimes forget I'm pregnant and think 'there's a bit of gas or something' before I quickly remember. Most of the time I can tell from the movements LO is lying transverse with head to the right.

Anomaly scan on wednesday. Quite nervous about it and haven't even looked into birth options yet to discuss it with the consultant. Dp surprised me with the fact that he has booked us a couple of days away in the sun flying out this weekend. Can't even feel like I can look forward to it until I know everything is ok and I can relax.

funchum8am · 07/05/2012 21:01

Good luck for Wednesday ballroom - at least once the scan is over and you're reassured, hopefully, you have a lovely weekend and some sunshine to look forward to.

My scan last Thursday showed the baby lying head down yet all the movements I can feel are very very low down towards the cervix - same with my DH, he puts his hand on my bump but he's not going to feel anything down there! (I have pointed this out!) Placenta is partly covering the cervix so not sure if that means anything for how I feel movement. However I'm only 20 weeks so perhaps the baby is still able to somersault and was just lying there on Thursday and has moved a lot since. I can't wait to feel proper punches and kicks; at the moment I just get the wind-type feelings, although I know they are the baby as they are at the front iyswim. I will start counting the kicks once I get some actual kicks! For now I have noted that baby is generally active in the evenings but that's about it for a pattern...

oikopolis · 07/05/2012 23:21

we had a v v v quiet day movement-wise on Thurs last week. Twas terrifying. so relieved when she started moving again on Friday! and continued through the weekend.

lovely strong heartbeat at the OB appt today so all is well apparently.

nearly 21 weeks now, cautiously optimistic. have had risk of cervical incompetence and OB is watching like a hawk. she told me today that i only need worry for three more weeks, from 24 weeks baby's chances of making it get better and better, and that in any case she has a feeling everything is going to be fine :)

i do too tbh, but you can't help but cross your fingers behind your back can you.

MrsHelsBels74 · 08/05/2012 09:14

My scan is tomorrow & I'm so ridiculously excited! We're hoping to find out if it's pink or blue & I can't wait!

ST82 · 08/05/2012 10:12

My scan is on thursday morning and i will be 20 weeks on the same day as well. I, too, am so ridiculously excited and we are hoping to find out if it's pink or blue! I feel the baby movements a lot in the last few days, they were so strong over the weekend that my partner felt them too. It was just amazing. I had round ligaments pain over the past few days and i think as a result the baby has a lot more space to move, hence kicking around so much :)

best of luck to everyone!!!

MissCoffeeNWine · 08/05/2012 11:31

So jealous about scan excitement, I just feel terrified each and every time. Good luck HelsBels and ST82

Fluid was fine at the anomaly scan ballroom but I have a fear of losing fluid as my last baby died due to my waters breaking early. Good luck for your scan. Isn't it a bit early for birth options, maybe not, I don't believe I'm actually going to have a baby yet and I'm putting things off until I'm properly pregnant.

Glad to hear you're getting optimistic oikopolis I have my last cervix check in 3 weeks at 25 weeks and then they'll stop looking, so we're in kind of the same situation - I only need worry until then but then I get to worry about the placenta failing so will be hauled in for growth scans.

I got a kick in the stomach last night so strong I shrieked loudly, it was actually painful. I have a bigfoot baby!

MakeTeaNotWar · 08/05/2012 11:35

Good luck Hels and ST82 - my scan is also on Thursday morning which is DH's 40th! We plan to remain in Team Yellow. I am ridiculously nervous as I haven't felt any movement yet even though this is 2nd baby and I am 20 weeks tomorrow. I'm normally a relaxed person but I just feel so unsure without movements - cross fingers for me ladies!

MrsHelsBels74 · 08/05/2012 14:40

Fingers crossed MakeTea. It is an unnerving time isn't it?

Bakeroo · 08/05/2012 14:43

Good luck with this weeks scan, it's such an exciting time.
I wanted to ask if anyone was having round ligament pain when walking? It isn't all of the time but when it starts it gets worse and worse until I have to stop. It feels muscular and is low down on the right hand side going upwards. I think it's round ligament pain as I've read about it and it stops when I rest. It's very annoying though because I really want to keep walking and staying active but this just makes it too painful. I've just been to Sainsbury's and it happened there too so I've hobbled around getting the shopping.
Do you think I should call the midwife or does this sound perfectly normal? Eek. A little bit worried but overly, it would be good to know if anyone else has this/has had this?

shellybop · 08/05/2012 16:57

Hi Bakeroo- i think i'm getting the same type of thing as you. I have started to find that when i'm walking around i'm getting low down pain, but mine is sometimes really deep in my pelvis. I have been wondering whether i am developing SPD. I really hope not though as i want to keep walking and active and at the moment it's really painful to walk for more than about 15 mins.

think i might have to try and get to the GP at some point about it, although i'm trying to see if wearing a support belt will help this week.

oikopolis · 08/05/2012 17:01

MissCoffee somehow i am very comforted that we will be worrying in tandem for the next three weeks!!

MrsHelsBels74 · 08/05/2012 17:11

I can barely walk at the moment due to back pain. Spoke to the dr who thinks it's either sciatica or sacroiliac problems. Have to see him on Friday with a possible referral for physio.
Last week I had a shock when I got a sudden stitch like pain in my pelvis, never had it before but apparently that was round ligament pain. At least I know what to expect now!

twizzlestix · 08/05/2012 21:39

Have been AWOL a while as I've been ridiculously busy at work :( but will catch up and do a proper post later. Marking my place again :)

moogs1000 · 08/05/2012 21:45

Hi, glad to hear all good news with scans. Mine was all fine and we're in team surprise too. Just starting to feel more movements and this is my 2nd I'm 21 weeks.
Think I've got beginnings of stretchmarks coming, could cry! Know its nothin major to worry about but I escaped them last time although she was very small. Been moisturising loads too and using bio oil. Anyone else got any? Don't even feel that big so worrying I'm going to be covered!

oikopolis · 08/05/2012 22:28

oh God just watched Kung Fu Panda 2 and bawled when the mummy panda had to leave her baby behind. AAAARGH SO SAD! why do they have to use baby human sounds for the baby panda! broke my heart ffs!

shellybop · 09/05/2012 15:32

oh my god i feel massive today! my bump is feeling huge and people keep saying 'my, you've grown' which isn't helping! I think a bit of it is bloating, but i feel like a waddling whale, and i'm only 21 and a half weeks. I'm going to be the size of a rhino by the end of the 3rd trimester! Funnily enough though, i weighed myself this morning and i've only put on 4 pounds since about week 8 which is my first 'recorded weight'.

funchum8am · 09/05/2012 18:59

My bump has gone much bigger today - three people at work commented on it whereas noone has before! Not sure if it was to do with the particular outfit I was wearing as the top was new but I must look really obviously pg now, which is actually nice as I was worreid about being small before. And I wore my bump band for the first time, and it worked! So I can use all my old work trousers again, thank goodness.

MrsHelsBels74 · 09/05/2012 20:15

Had my scan today all is well & we found out we're team blue!
