Good luck missree and *cakes
I'm finding motherhood a bit of a roller coaster - up days and down days (or rather nights!)
Sunday night William would not settle. He struggled to latch on, wouldn't take milk from cup or bottle and was a genuine pain! It was 3:45am before he finally exhausted himself - 6 hours of being awake. He fed, fell asleep and woke every 10 to 15 mins. Little tike!
Saw MW yesterday. She's happy with him (and me). My scar is healing well. No more weeping/bleeding from it. I'm moving more feely now too. William's nappy contents during our appointment suggested he is well fed. :) He filled it an hour after changing (likes doing it during a feed! - Little trumper!). His jaundice levels are decreasing and despite losing 8oz during the first 5 days, he's put them back on since Weds 4th and weighs 6lbs 5oz - 1 oz less than his birth weight. I need to massage my nipples and use a hand pump for a minute or two as they're a little flat and my breasts are so full, he struggles to latch. I'm sticking with it and yesterday, despite 5-10 mins of difficulty, he had some good feeds. Rugby ball position works best for me.
He's having slightly more waking periods which we are trying to encourage during daylight hours not during our bedtime! I've went against the rules and put him in his own room next door to ours and used the baby monitor. it worked well last night. We all got sleep. He had a long wake full feed at 6am (before that was 1:30am) so to help him back to sleep I used the lullabies on the baby monitor - AND IT WORKED! William now asleep. Thank you TOMY!!
