Right then my lovelies, this thread is going sloooooowly now we have our little secret facebook group Smile

But we need to keep posting here for people who haven't joined our other group, so keep on going!

If anyone wants to join the facebook group, can they ask someone cleverer than me and they will set it up for you!

OddEyes I'm so sorry for you, I know what that awful itching with no relief is like, it does go after delivery, hopefully they won't leave you long now.

Woowa the episode tonight was really good, try it again tomorrow!

Xavielli · 23/01/2012 08:54

I've got OC, have they put you on ursodeoxycholic acid and vit k yet? I just keep getting more and more itchy! Up the hospital for more bloods and monitoring today. Being induced on Friday. Piriton isn't touching the itch anymore :( its bloody miserable.

hermionejgranger · 23/01/2012 09:22

Oh Xav I'm so sorry you're so uncomfortable. Have you found anything that helps as a topical application?

And wahey - good luck to Esme today...waiting on some news!!!

Xavielli · 23/01/2012 10:18

Nope, creams don't seem to help, vigorous scratching with a hair brush til it burns staves it off long enough to fall asleep (until I have to pee, then we start again)

Hope all is going well for Esme she could be done by now if there was no delay!

ZhenThereWereTwo · 23/01/2012 11:43

Oddeyes and Xav sorry your are both experiencing such frustrating itching, do ice packs help at all?

Good luck for today Esme :)

It is really lovely that our babies are starting to arrive now, I can't wait Grin

herecomesthsun · 23/01/2012 12:07

Very sorry that some people are so uncomfortable with the itching!

But gosh, not long for us now!

I have just seen this on the BBC news - apparently we are all going to have "dragon babies" as it is the year of the dragon, starting it would seem from today, and this is very lucky. Hence an impending planned rise in the birthrate in China.

I find it a little amusing as I am Welsh and rather fond of the symbol of the dragon - and apparently I was also born in a dragon year myself.

OddEyes · 23/01/2012 13:27

I am getting off a few stops early!

So scan this morning at 36+2. Baby is 7lbs 2oz and all well with her.
Consultant I saw yesterday saw me again this morning and he has booked me in for induction on Monday. Given me a ton of meds + some for the OC. Diabetes I have to diet control again for the week.

But....I asked for a sweep as didn't want to come in on Monday and have a Bishops score of 0 (unfavourable cervix - love that phrase!). So he agreed and....I am 2cm dialated, baby low and he gave me a jolly good sweep! So... we will see her sooner maybe. My mid Feb baby is going to be a January baby.

OddEyes · 23/01/2012 13:29

Esme best wishes for today!

littlemonkeybix · 23/01/2012 14:06

Oooh oddeyes how exciting!!

Keep us all posted

eeeeeep Grin

OddEyes · 23/01/2012 14:51

Xavielli - tis the worst! Yes have vit K and the other think with big long name plus aqueos with menthol and piriton. Liver scan and monitoring on Thurs.
Actuallu looking forward to labour - something to take mind off itch!
The end is in sight!

hermionejgranger · 23/01/2012 15:06

ooooh OddEyes that's very exciting! keep us all posted :)

notcitrus · 23/01/2012 15:30

Ooh oddeyes! Have to admit at 36+1 I'm starting to become a lot less averse to words like 'induction', given that a mischievious 3.4yo is really not compatible with being unable to bend or walk at more than 1mph with SDP... his latest trick is to get out of bed and then sit on my foot so I can't pull him up and get him back in, or race me to get a body part in the door so I can't shut it. Gah.

My cousin who was due on the same day as me (her first) gave birth on Sunday - have name but no other details. My parents now think our choice of name is great in comparison! And MrNC and I have choice of middle names down to two that we both like. Nearly there!

babycarmen · 23/01/2012 16:49

Good luck OddEyes!

Want my baby out now, for those not on FB, i lost my show yesterday and have had a bath with clary sage yesterday and bounced on ball, today have been walking lots and getting an indian later and im getting some prostaglandins from DP later too ;) If none of that works then i give up, no doubt baby will be stubborn and stay in there for weeks yet! Got mw on Weds so see what she says. Its also my birthday on Weds and i dont want to share it so she can come out now or wait til the weekend ;) Been having the usualy BHs but thats about it, only other 'symptom' i have is back ache and stabby pains in my cervix :S weird.

Cant believe all these babies are arriving!! Will need a postnatal thread soon!!

38 weeks!

woowa · 23/01/2012 20:36

eeeee babycarmen! Losing your show means it must be soon, no? mine went about 12 hours before labour started last time.

no more niggles today, just trying to stay up and active, keep this baby back-to-front and gravity assisted.

COME ON BABY!!!! Must admit, although i don't want to be induced, it is nice to know exactly when the end point would be. Would love feb baby though, as me and DD are both feb babies, so hopefully being induced at 4pm on 31st jan will lead to feb baby, even if only just!

38+6

ZhenThereWereTwo · 23/01/2012 21:37

What lovely news to come home to :)

Very exciting OddEyes and babycarmen, good luck to you both, I hope things happen speedily now!!

Had a hell of a day today.

Just got back not long ago from A&E with DD. I was on a bus with DD sleeping happily in the buggy which was parked in the buggy space. The bus brakes very sharply (not sure why as traffic was stop and start at lights) and the whole buggy went flying over on top of DD and she whacked her head off the floor/side of the bus. Bus driver didn't even stop and see if she was ok even though I was trying to right the buggy with DD screaming in pain and fear Angry, and no one got up to help me pick up the buggy. Got off bus and went to local walk in, only to be told to go to A&E, so then had to get on a train and walk to get to nearest A&E. DD has a massive purple bump on her head, but is ok and doesn't appear to be showing signs of concussion at the mo so just got to keep an eye on her for next 48 hours.

hermionejgranger · 23/01/2012 22:33

Oh no zhen I can't believe the driver didn't even check to see your DD was OK! Hope she is just colourful and not concussed.
Come on babyc's baby! :-)

QueenFee · 24/01/2012 00:12

Oh no zhen thats horrible. How old is dd?

OddEyes · 24/01/2012 00:56

Can't sleep. Just ironed some pillow cases snd dh's shirts?! Going to have another go at sleep.

OddEyes · 24/01/2012 01:01

Zhen am sorry. Hope dd ok. It is such a worry. I find the observation period so difficult. Hope u ok too.

littlemonkeybix · 24/01/2012 05:10

Gosh.. babies heading our way soon folks!! exciting stuff!!!

littlemonkeybix · 24/01/2012 05:11

OddEyes · 24/01/2012 09:23

OddEyes · 24/01/2012 11:09

Any baby news yet? Esme?

flapjack77 · 24/01/2012 13:00

baby on board Grin

Christopher James was born 5.20am yesterday, 8lb exactly.

Rather surprised us, contractions started just before midnight on sun, (had bit of a show sun afternoon/evening), coming fairly regularly (less than 5 mins between them but not lasting for v long) got to hosp 3.30am, was 5 cm dilated at 4am. At this point MW reckoned baby would arrive 8am ish, we hoped before lunchtime..!
Contractions started coming thick and fast, had tens on and gas and air, suddenly waters went and I wanted to push...the rest, as they say, is history!
(just for context ds1 was 36 hr labour...)

Spent night in hosp as reluctant to feed, but home now Grin

OddEyes · 24/01/2012 13:14

Congratulations flapjack! Sounds great. Glad u home. Hope you can rest up and enjoy your wee boy. Lovely name btw.
