Right then my lovelies, this thread is going sloooooowly now we have our little secret facebook group Smile

But we need to keep posting here for people who haven't joined our other group, so keep on going!

If anyone wants to join the facebook group, can they ask someone cleverer than me and they will set it up for you!

Old thread is here

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
patsdeadfrank · 19/01/2012 18:27

ahhh, sorry to pry. just wondered if it was a bad labour dont they usually ok a elective section from the beginning with out much fuss? but that might be an area thing.

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 19/01/2012 19:04

Don't worry, you're not prying! It's very dependent on lots of factors. And I'm not pushing for it. I just really want to be on the other side of it!

PamBeesly · 19/01/2012 19:06

Pat that sounds so realistic....going in saying I'd like my epi now please...and her saying but you are so calm! I think I might be like that :)

Notcitrus like you I also pass out from the intensity of period pain, not to mention middle of the month pain that wipes me out completely. I get tachycardic because I'm so terrified of it. My mother told me that 'this will stand to me' in labour but I fear its a sign my labour pains might be more intense.
Also I'm confused about 'pushing' because of the HypnoBrthing books. I'll have to ask about it at my ante natal class next week.

hermionejgranger · 19/01/2012 20:33

Goodness me that was a rush of posts! Hello Pat and welcome to the bus!

Monkey I can't believe that you are clearly so fixated on the cum facial and it's me that gets accused of being a dirty caahh on FB... Wink
Woowa (it is you of the many scans, isn't it?) glad things seem to be going OK.
Pam I was thinking of getting something off itunes or similar for relaxation/hypnobirthing too but just haven't got round to it. I hope Bert doesn't put in an appearance too early because there are so many bits and pieces that I haven't done yet. Like, for example, packing my hospital bag...ooops.

Well, I have now finished at work! Today was just tidying up last little bits and clearing out my cupboard - it was cathartic to throw away a whole load of stuff that I have been hoarding for ages! Hoping to use that feeling at home because I could really do with starting the nesting thing. Just cleaning doesn't appeal to me at all so I need the extra push from the instinct to get cracking on it! Sadly a very thoughtful colleague of mine came into work with a really nasty cold and seems to have shared it with everyone, including me, so I am feeling rather sorry for myself today. Really annoys me when people do that. She was bloody coughing and spluttering and sneezing all over the place - FFS stay at home if you're poorly!!!

Rant over.

36 weeks tomorrow... Shock

PamBeesly · 19/01/2012 20:42

Hermione pack your bag!

deardear · 19/01/2012 20:47

Pam I had really bad period pains and also ovulation pains mid month which were possibly worse. You will cope well with labour if you can cope with these - even if you do pass out.

hermionejgranger · 19/01/2012 20:59

Blush Sorry Pam I'll do it tomorrow...promise Grin

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 19/01/2012 21:38

Hermione, don't worry, I've not done mine either! I was going to do it on Sunday but didn't as DD was up puking all night on Sat night and wasn't well at all on Sun. Also a bit stuck as my secretary has all my gender neutral tiny baby stuff and getting it back has been delayed as she has a load of stuff going on (her bastard husband beat her up badly on Christmas Eve). I've got the other stuff kind of looked out and in roughly the same place, just not kind of assembled into a bag. I'll get there!

PamBeesly · 19/01/2012 21:48

Wicket I'm so sorry for your secretary, that is just awful. I hope she doesn't have to put up with that abuse anymore, physically I mean, in her mind it will take longer to go away.

Deardear I do hope so. They were awful, nothing worked, I used ibuprofen and paracetamol interchangeably at 2 hour intervals but nothing touched the pain, my GP just said 'its one of those things' I changed GPs since I have become pregnant because I felt she was so insensitive.

Hermionie thanks for the BF documents I'll read them tomorrow at work :) You've loads of time to do your bag...I am just worrying I'll get caught short because I've had to go into hopsital twice already and had nothing!

ITryToBeZenBut · 19/01/2012 21:50

Hello all Smile
I was posting on here waaaaaaaaaay back in trimester 1 but things have not been straight-forward with some health issues so I took a little break whilst they worked themselves out as I didn't want to get my head too much into all things babies in case it didn't wor out. But here I am back with less than a month to go to my Feb due date bambino and it looks like it's all happening Grin
I hope everyone is well - not too long til Feb. Recognise a few people waves at Hermione and lovely to see other new people. I finish work tomorrow, thank the lord. Finally had my tour of the maternity unit yesterday too which was exciting.
I am also trying to do my perineal massage daily but can't say that's 5 minutes of the day I enjoy. No idea if I'm doing it right but the due date is getting sufficiently close I'm scared enough to try Hmm
Will read and catch up on all the lovely posts over the next few days when I wake up in my regular 4am wide-awae-for-no-reason slots now.

PamBeesly · 19/01/2012 21:57

Hi ITryToBeZenBut and welcome back, glad everything has gone ok so far and its less than a month! I'm also starting perineal massage tonight, on the facebook group there are mixed responses to what it encompasses and if its effective at all but like you I'm going to give anything a try!

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 19/01/2012 22:05

Welcome back, ITryToBeZenBut! Sorry to hear its not been straightforward - hope you and bubba are keeping well now.

Talking of faces not seen for a while, has anyone seen anything of InnocentRedhead? I'm not on the FB group, so not sure if she's been on there.

Pam, she's chucked him out (good girl!) and is meeting with solicitors etc. there's a court case to come next month. I really want my stuff back, and I'm getting a bit nervous as time marches on but obviously I don't feel I can hassle her.

PamBeesly · 19/01/2012 22:12

Innocent is great! A lot of original posters here have defected to the FB group, its very fast paced over there.

Glad to hear that Wicket I hope she has lots of support around her, I'm sure she is heartbroken for lots of reasons.

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 19/01/2012 22:12

Maybe I should join!

PamBeesly · 19/01/2012 22:17

If you want to join I'll add you, and to all the newcomers and anyone else too. It is extremely hilarious from time to time but we'd be LOST without each other now! It is time consuming though... :)

PamBeesly · 19/01/2012 22:34

Wicket you are private, as am I so I've asked someone on the secret group to come over and allow you to add them therefore allowing you to get on the FB bus...its all a bit complicated or I'm a bit thick Confused

Woowa 3 lovely little babies last night again, sos weet

PamBeesly · 19/01/2012 22:37

Wicket I've asked and someone is adding you now (SugarKane I believe)

ZhenThereWereTwo · 19/01/2012 22:37

Welcome to the bus patsdeadfrank and welcome back ITryToBeZenBut :) Sorry to hear you are feeling ill hermione hope it passes swiftly.

Also another one who should have packed her hospital bag, I have the bag and most of the stuff to go in it, but although it has been quiet at home today (calm after the storm of building phase 1: the nightmare drill), I can't seem to find the impetus to do nesting. Tomorrow I will be on the case, once I have unpacked some of my kitchen again from the boxes all over my front room.

Wicket glad your secretary has taken steps to protect herself, what a horrible situation :( All of my newborn stuff is still with my niece whose baby was premature, so she is only just growing out of it now. It is awkward to ask, but I feel I will have to soon or end up buying some more which seems silly as there is loads there not being used. I am sure she will understand if you do ask her, you could always offer to help her sort them if it is too much for her right now.

I used to have really bad period pains with severe vomiting (ended up in hospital twice from them) and found labour pains last time around manageable (not a walk in the park mind, but when you know there is a lovely baby at the end of it, it helps). Funny though since being pregnant with DD haven't had bad period pains

Sugarkane · 19/01/2012 22:38

Wicket Ive requested you a friend then I can add you to group im Gemma

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 19/01/2012 22:46

Cheers sugarkane! We're now FB friends, but how do I find the bus?

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 19/01/2012 22:47

Ah, sorry, just saw that you said you'd add me!

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 19/01/2012 22:47

Quick work! Thank you!

patsdeadfrank · 19/01/2012 22:50
