I love raspberry leaf tea Emz I used it as an alternative to 'sweets' in the evening when I was dieting and was a bit :( I couldn't drink it throughout the pregnancy, however, I was told by a herbalist it would have been no problem for me to continue drinking it because I always had. She said drink it for breast feeding too, it is good for milk production, she said fenugreek is good for stimulatiing milk production too.

deardear · 08/01/2012 18:19

Just as an aide in the horse breeding world if we have trouble with a mare letting her milk down or not enough milk we feed them cocoa powder :). High % chocolate here we come lol

Kayano · 08/01/2012 19:56

I'm bloody 'knackered'

Lol Blush
I need a drink

PamBeesly · 08/01/2012 22:08

is that a fact deardear ??? I'll be using that one Grin

notcitrus · 08/01/2012 22:13

Thick black leggings and a long black sweater and some jewellery made me look dead swish on NYE - unlike the rest of the last 6 months! And as I was in my house didn't need any shoes on. :) Or tunic dress over works too.
Underbump trousers fall down even worse than ever - does anyone find they work?

Collected a cot, chest of drawers, and baby-backpack and sheets today, so feel a lot more prepared. And have a hot water bottle down my back.

Haven't thrown up for a week so at least my meds can work, though the painkillers aren't up to the job any more. Must dig out that TENS machine!

woowa · 08/01/2012 23:14

marking spot, need to sleep!xx

deardear · 09/01/2012 10:37

damn cold has come back with a vengeance including a sore throat overnight :( have got thrush again so doing the tea tree oil baths and canestan. really felt up to a bit of nooky last night with DH which is unheard of but didnt because my fanjo was singing! grrrrrr. dont know who was more frustrated. had a very restless night and ended up putting a bean bag under my pillow to try and prop me up a bit. have been and got lucozade and honey this morning and also came back from Morrisons with a tin of Heroes as they were reduced down to £3.98! Bargain as i found out on Saturday that my DH had finished off my big box of thorntons my pub boss got me for chrimbo! What a bloody cheek.

good luck to hippysair! corks are a popping. woowa hope you have a good sleep.

m1nn1em0u5e · 09/01/2012 11:26

deardear....you have a singing fanjo?! :)

Xavielli · 09/01/2012 11:51

Haha @ singing fanoire!

Good luck hippysair! Hope things start happening naturally.

Just managed to get everything for baby from mothercare for under 200 as my friend has started working there and is using her discount for me! She is also delivering it to my house, it's all about who you know...

Glad that's all done, if I hadn't have planned to do it now then hippysair would have spurred me into action!

littlemonkeybix · 09/01/2012 13:43

Hippysair seems to have prompted my DP to do something too... after a silly phone conversation about getting the nursery done in APRIL (for fooks sake?!?! Hmm ) he has now purchased my feeding chair!

room pics up on FB if anyone wants to feel better about themselves!

Really wishing Hippy a fab QUICK time of it!! Grin EXCITING!!!

CoffeeOne · 09/01/2012 14:30

Singing fanoire Grin

Good luck to Hippysair!!

Good job on the discount Xav very exciting getting all baby's bits together. We've been given most things which is wonderful, although it would have been nice to go on a mad shopping spree. The most money I've spent has been on exciting maternity pads and undies haha.

littlemonkey that would keep me up all night! Poor you! Our nursery was the junk spare room and I just couldn't sleep until it was cleared and painted. Hope DP pulls his finger out!

ZhenThereWereTwo · 09/01/2012 15:42

Have I missed something, what is happening with Hippysair?

EsmeWeatherwax · 09/01/2012 15:48

Zhen Hippy's waters have broken, she's in hospital, and been told she's not going home without a baby! Her labour hadn't started when she last posted to fb...

ZhenThereWereTwo · 09/01/2012 15:52

Oooh how exciting! Not on FB so missed all of that. Good luck Hippysair :)

PamBeesly · 09/01/2012 15:52

hippysair good luck, how exciting the first bus baby (most likely unless someone goes into labour really quickly and pips her to the post) :)

shipsladyg · 09/01/2012 16:49

Ooo. Exciting. 1st one on its way. Good Luck Hippysair.

Have just sent a request to join the secret FB group....

YAWN. Had a 30min combat kip at lunch time, slept well last night & have eaten properly today but I am still shattered. thank goodness for CBeebies but I'm feeling so guilty letting DD watch it so much. Sad

babycarmen · 09/01/2012 17:28

Soooo excited for hippysair!!! She was due the day AFTER me so it all seems very real now..im totally starting to panic! Getting to that stage of "I realllllly want my baby now, come out come out!" But still 4 weeks left til D day! Midwife on Wednesday.

Felt great yesterday, lots of energy and wasnt that tired, and today i feel rubbish again! Flashing lights are STILL there in my eyes and my heads been a bit sore, like im dehydrated. But im not. Cant wait to get DD to bed so i can watch the soaps and relax then go for a nice hot bath. Definitely 'nesting' just now. Been cleaning like a mad woman!

36 weeks!

QueenFee · 09/01/2012 19:51

5 weeks and 2 days too long to go.
Sigh

Very excited for hippy though. 1st bus baby.

woowa · 09/01/2012 20:23

Oh, I won't be the first feb baby then!! How exciting for hippy, what's her due date? Maybe we'll have two babies this week then, in 48 hours I'll know what's going on...tomorrow is last day for MUCH washing cleaning etc, just in case they keep me in on wednesday..argh.

Got MW appointment tomorrow which seems a bit redundant given that i've got another scan on wednesday, but i had better turn up i guess, at least get the BP done - wow - just realised then, that i'm 37 weeks tomorrow - that's TERM!!! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee where did the time go??!!

I had a panic about it being a boy last night, i've been saying that i have enough neutral clothes so it doens't matter, but started knitting a boy coloured jumper, just in case. I must be mad, but it will give me something to do while hanging about being induced possibly on wednesday or thursday. It's funky blue and purple stripes, sowould be ok for a girl too i think.

Can't wait for scan to find out if baby will come this week...

hermionejgranger · 09/01/2012 20:31

Very excited for hippy :) and woowa fingers crossed for your scan! Eeeeep it's all getting a bit real now, isn't it? Keeping my legs firmly crossed for now as it's my cousin's wedding on 28 January and I AM going to go to it...he sent me a message today to say that there would be both an independent and an NHS midwife at the wedding should I require their services...!

Have had nasty back ache and rib ache today - not good - and I think even with the rib ache that Bert is starting to move downwards a bit - a couple of times I've had that "ooft" feeling in the area vaguely near to where I think my cervix probably is.

And now flipping restless legs. Grrrrrreat. Going to have an ice pop and put my pjs on.

34+3...and 8 days left at work!

OddEyes · 09/01/2012 23:19

Ohh very excited for Hippy, hope all goes well! Once one pops that will be it you know, I will be on here hourly seeing who is going to go next. Please keep us non fb folk updated.

Do want baby out but not just yet please. 2 days left of school - all important for a bit of extra dosh. They do ask after every lesson if I am ok and shall they call the supply, but am detemined to make it. Then I need a week of tidying and sorting. Hurrah my cleaner is back this week so going to set her to task with things my hips and bump won't allow, not sure what she will think of my nesting by proxy!

My scan is 23rd so I should be safe until then unless this massive baba decides to come early. She is still high though and I swear she is still flipping.

littlemonkeybix · 10/01/2012 10:18

Well my tour around the maternity wing in the hospital last night made me cry... with fear! it was an hour's trip, and 15 mins in I had nearly cried 4 times, and had to restrain myself from bolting!!

Saying that, the delivery ward was good (just SCARY) and the MLU was excellent. The lady doing the tour was also excellent... and the people touring with me were great... except one MIL from hell (poor girl!!)

It has helped me decide anyway! I want the MLU, and I want to attempt just G&A. I also spent last night making lists... extras I will want with me!! Flannel, hot water bottle (back) water spray, lucozade, CDs!!

And I heard her recommend, use the towels here for yourself, but bring your own baby towel. So I will Smile

littlemonkeybix · 10/01/2012 10:19

oh 32+1 (always bloody forget!!)

phlossie · 10/01/2012 11:58

My baby's head down and starting to engage, so definitely moved away from my ribs a bit. Now it's moved down, my bump actually looks smaller and I'm definitely getting less movement. But I'm waddling like and elderly goose, and I can't walk very far without getting serious BH and quite uncomfortable ones at that. I wonder if this baby will be as late as the others?

Baby towel... might do some online shopping! I could also do with a cleaner - I buggered my back cleaning the bathroom on Sunday.

EsmeWeatherwax · 10/01/2012 12:29

37 weeks today too, only 13 days to go until baba gets here. Still totally disorganised, but given up caring, we'll get there! My lovely mum has started coming up to clean for us, cos I'm virtually immobile! Think it's safe to say some part of this baby has descended into my pelvis, lol, my hips feel about 6 feet apart! Got some new black nighties for hospital yesterday, and some slip-on slippers, so thats the hospital bags finished at least, although I've lost my mobile phone...disaster! Will need to find it soon!

Quite scary that I'll be getting my last two anti-natal appointments next week, so near the end now! Just feels like I'm heading into unknown territory because I'm having a boy, I'm so used to baby girls...very strange! Feeling quite disconnected from the whole thing, which is probably a mix of tiredness and having so many things to do!
