Right then my lovelies, this thread is going sloooooowly now we have our little secret facebook group Smile

But we need to keep posting here for people who haven't joined our other group, so keep on going!

If anyone wants to join the facebook group, can they ask someone cleverer than me and they will set it up for you!

Old thread is here

I'm eating all sorts of random things to alternate between being faint and throwing up - seems to be working taking the Gaviscon but it's triggering diarrhoea... great fun!

I'm not bothering with RLF this time as it tastes like pond water and I'm happy(ish) chugging along to my due date, as more likely to be taking less drugs by then and also we promised to take ds to the Muppet movie when it comes out, which will be 38+5 for me. He's been asking to see it daily since seeing the trailer before Christmas.

Hoping to pick up the piles of baby things from friend tomorrow morning, which should bring it home to me what's happening. Ds told me I was having the baby last night, so very releived he was wrong! He's going through a clingy scared-of-everything phase which I hope calms down a bit soon...

indicababy · 07/01/2012 14:04

Ooooh er MRS, I'm all good and married now. Hope allare well, redally have to go and sleep now..........ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

indicababy · 07/01/2012 14:11

hermione I have sent you msg on FB, thanks x

hermionejgranger · 07/01/2012 14:12

Is your profile pic a piece of cheese cut into a K, indica? Glad you had a lovely day yesterday! :)

shipsladyg · 07/01/2012 14:18

Yay! Congrats Indica!

Phlossie - I too am pee'd off with peeing myself. DD is even calling my Tena lady pads "mummy nappy" Blush. She grabbed one off the dressing table the other day, sat on the floor & stuck it between her legs. How she does love to copy everything; Handy for when I need to sweep up and am struggling around the bump to use the dustpan & brush Grin

Bought DD a new big dolly yesterday as a present for when DS arrives. Stupidly I got the noisy one from ELC. My goodness it sounds terrible. Thankfully it has an off switch! Hopefully it will distract her when I'm trying to get to grips with a newborn.

Yum to beige food. I'd love a nice chippy dinner & curry sauce right now. Mmmmm.

Anyone doing massage "down there"??? Does it make any difference at all??? I'm not sure I want to let DH help me as he'll only get the wrong idea.

babycarmen · 07/01/2012 15:40

Ive been having the odd cup of RLT but i drank so much of the stuff with DD and my labour was super quick im a bit scared of having too much just incase i end up having this one at home or in the car haha!

Not been doing the massage 'down there' maybe i should..but its kinda hard to reach Blush and DP will probably get the wrong idea too!

shipslady I want to get DD something 'from the baby' just something small but im not sure what, anyone else doing something similar??

indicababy · 07/01/2012 16:06

yes hermione I am acheesy K. I sent a message as well x

shipsladyg · 07/01/2012 16:25

Babycarmen - how old is DD? I guess anything that they can call their own is one way to go. Do you want something special / specific that DD can play with whilst you're occupied with the baby? I got the doll as my DD seems to be very into role play so hopefully getting her to dress dolly or change its nappy will help her to feel part of the process.

Does your DD like sticker books (always handy here for getting my 18m old to sit still for 5mins calmly)
Books? Something that can be easily read together when you're feeding the LO.
Puzzle?
Threading beads/cards?

babycarmen · 07/01/2012 17:12

Shes 4, so they are all good ideas thanks :) She loves reading so i might try get a good book for her about being a big sister maybe. Hmm will have to have a look about!

hermionejgranger · 07/01/2012 17:33

Welcome back topaz :)
I'm going to do the raspberry leaf tea after I've spoken to my midwife on Tuesday...not done the undercarriage massage though. Might try it if I can reach - DH has flat refused!
Feeling a lot better about the pram issue now - for those who missed my rant on FB it's a second hand one from my cousin and is about 5 years old - and I had no clue how to put it together etc. Fortunately a very lovely and helpful lady (you know who you are!) has identified it for me and I've found instructions on the interweb.

Crazybit · 07/01/2012 19:24

Oh My, I popped over here to see how the wedding went and can't beleive how many messages there are. I spend most of my time on the secret FB bus.

Can't remember who has said what but will try and reply to what I do remember!

BabyC( I remember you said this as it is at the top of the pageWink) I think I will get dd something she really really loves from the baby so she at least likes him at first. Maybe a small soft toy that meows/woofs or a book about sisters, or even chocolate/sweets, she'd really love him then!

Shipslady-My dd (4) puts toilet roll in her pants, just like I have pads in, was a bit concerned at first when I kept finding wads of the stuff till I realised!

TopazMortmain-Sorry about the twin. :( Is everything ok with you? Welocome back :)

Re: RLT-I have been drinking since 32 weeks, yucky stuff but hoping it will do some good. Have moved to two tea bags in one large cup now. Have also just this day started taking Evening Primrose tablets which is meant to help ripen your cervix, but not send you into labour, just help and also have the Clary Sage oil ready for nearer D Day.

So, now if eveyone can make there way over to FB it would make things a lot easier. I thank you :)

I haven't really thought about presents for my older two. It's DS's birthday the week baby's due, and he'll get plenty. Father Christmas did bring DD a baby boy doll so she can get used to the idea of having another brother - she's certain she's getting a sister - but the little madam keeps pilfering the baby's clothes from the drawer in his/her room for the doll! So that plan backfired!

I'm tired and fed up and I'm being very snappy with my DCs. Especially the biggest one - he seems to have developed a whole new level of being irritating! Is it the fact that he's nearly six, the fact that me and his dad are preoccupied with the new house and new baby, or am I just way more irritable than usual? I'd say a mixture of the three! I do feel guilty. But DH just spent two hours at a party with DD, so I had a lovely time watching wildlife documentaries with DS, which he loves... and cuddling him lots too.

Roll on the next 5 weeks...

QueenFee · 07/01/2012 21:09

I always hav bought presents from the baby. sigh I'd forgotten about that. Something else to add to my to do list!
However I always buy something that will keep them quiet for the hour they are visiting in hospital... I dread having being the one with the kids trying to peer under everyones curtains!

I am struggling with ds1 at the mo he just is going through one of those phases although part of me wonders if there is something not quite right with him. I ended up in tears after an hours battle with him tonight just to get him to put his pjs on and put his cars back in the box (a 1 minute chuck it all in job) :( I have no energy to even shout anymore. Interesting phlossie hes 5 1/2

Thankfully I don't have birthdays to buy for till the end of march so one less thing to do.

rnbsmum · 07/01/2012 21:33

phlossie and QueenFee - I think it's being a 5 year+ boy. DS sways between being angelic, the Incredible Hulk and weeping like Gwyneth Paltrow at the Oscars. It's an emotional rollercoaster and leaving me a bit fraught!!

Xavielli · 07/01/2012 21:43

I have to say that ds1 (7) is just coming out of aprox 2 years of having the most spectacular mood swings, so I do think it's an age thing.

woowa · 07/01/2012 21:54

We have loads of unopened presents from christmas left for when baby arrives, and DD's birthday is 9th feb, so hoping that will all distract her from feelings of abandonment.

Baby still kicking like billy-o tonight, so I assume it's still ok today. less than 4 days til scan which may result in induction...i'll be gutted if it's not this week now, i'm all ready! Attacked piles of stuff in house today and it's all gone to tip, charity shop or loft, cleaned out baby bath (been in loft), put moses basket and baby clothes in our room...bag is by front door, people all sorted to care for DD... just need to cook some bolognese for freezer, and find breast feeding cover - thanks to whoever mentioned that, i had forgotten it! Must be in DD's room somewhere...

I drank RLT last time, this time I just can't be bothered, it makes me all acidy. yuk. I'm sure being induced 3 weeks early is going to mean RLT won't make much difference anyway...

Right, to read the paper, this might be the last weekend i get to leisurely lie in bed with the papers (after DD in bed) for a few months.

Can someone take off my socks for me, please. My feet are uncomfortably distant nowadays...

hermionejgranger · 08/01/2012 04:34

Ships i'll do yours if you do mine! ;)

shipsladyg · 08/01/2012 05:37

Sounds like a deal!

My husband just scoffed at the huffing and puffing I needed to do to get my walking boots on yesterday.

hermionejgranger · 08/01/2012 08:29

Mine refused to help me paint my toenails because, and I quote, "it's important for you to maintain a sense of independence". Eugh.

Sugar80 · 08/01/2012 09:19

I've been invited to a christening on 19th February, when I will be exactly 39 weeks. Aargh!! No reason not to go (assuming sprog hasn't dropped - and the church is closer to the hospital than my house anyway!), but I have nothing to wear!! Think I'll have to wait until the week before, then see what I can find... and take it back if I end up not going for whatever reason! Still have a feeling this baby's going to be early.

hermionejgranger · 08/01/2012 10:32

Sugar I'm supposed to be going to a wedding on 28 Jan when I'm 37 weeks (not quite such a close call as yours) and i'm just going with a black dress I got from H&M a bit like this, and glitzing it up with funky tights, a cardi and some nice jewellery. I've actually worn it quite a lot already but with different colours - but I agree that it would be difficult knowing whether to buy something new or not for an occasion that close to due date! Good luck!

deardear · 08/01/2012 11:28

I have now resorted to leggings as really can't be bothered with anything else. Jazz them up with long lots and long tops when I go out or to work at the pub.

Feel like I have been hit with a cricket bat down the right hand side of my face as my sinuses are blocked. Paracetamol are working and going to get a hot water bottle shortly. DD2 has been out riding and all stables done so she has come home and is now cooking me and DD1 a fry up - not bad for an 11 year old. DH is at work and sheepish after telling me last night I must have spent all day on the iPad last night - erm I did stables, went shopping, went to work and came home and fed him so think not! Was that mad at him last night I couldn't go to sleep. He has told me to rest today lol.

Found out this week my cousin is expecting her 2nd in July. Very exciting although she is going through that yucky sickness stage. I was reading through some of the new,y pregnant posts last night and it tickled me to see how happy they all are (and so they should be) and wondered whether to invite them to out thread on here to see ow they will feel in a few months lol.

Going to watch crap on telly today on the sofa with the papers.

ZhenThereWereTwo · 08/01/2012 12:32

My DH exfoliated my feet for me the other day and gave them a massage, gotta love him Grin He offers to do my shoelaces for me, but I say no because I have to find ways to do them when he isn't there. Although I do have slip on shoes for the last few weeks as I remember from last time it did become near impossible.

Am also living in leggings, can't fit under bump black trousers any more and my over bump jeans are less comfortable so only wear occasionally. Black leggings/tights and a colourful dress/tunic like this or all black with bright accessories would be my choice for christening or wedding.

Am chilling in pj's on MN, going to start cooking roast dinner soon, love Sundays :)

Emz33 · 08/01/2012 15:22

Am I the only one who actually likes RLT?! Was pleasantly surprised when I started on it yesterday! Going to pack my hosp bag today. Eeeek
