Morning Ladies

Very uncomfortable night, seeing MW later and she'll examine me to see if any progress has been made - doubt it tho Sad Stubborn boy I think we've got to comfortable in there.

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 14/12/2011 07:45

LMH Hope your toothache disappears soon. That and earache are the worst pain ever!

aethelfleda · 14/12/2011 07:49

jinglebum forgot to congratulate you yesterday! Well done, I'm a big gas n air fan.

LMH that sounds grim. If paracetmol isnt touching it maybe your Gp can get you some co-codamol if you ring them up and ask? (don't tale it once labour has started)

Morning!

LMH - hope you feel better soon

msbaublestwinkle · 14/12/2011 08:32

Morning!

lmh how crap! Hope you're feeling better by now.

darcies tell Snowball to get a move on!

air Bleugh to your tiredness, hope you will feel better for being out though, and that it will tire Air out...well, it usually works that way for me.

Much better nights sleep here, Miri seems to have got the hang of pooing without screaming and we have feeding lying down sorted properly now so she woke every three hours, DP changed her (weird baby only poos at night!) I latched her back on and went back to sleep. Plan for today...doula is coming round for a chat, my sister is popping in after work to meet Miri. DP is planning on doing some arty stuff with the DDs.

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 14/12/2011 08:43

Thanks Ladies - not sure of the best way to coax Snowball out, maybe he/she knows the weather is pants so better off staying put! Hmm

Cheep Bleurgh to the tiredness, caffeine is your friend today then Smile

mopsytop · 14/12/2011 08:47

Falalalalababy · 14/12/2011 09:41

Hi all, I have finally come out of the hospital with wonderful baby boy Ariaan. He was born at 5:15 on 11december and 3.2kgs.

My birth story

I was admitted to hospital on Thursday with pre eclampsia, given a sopository on Friday eve and waters broken on sat. Unfortunately, I was only 1/2 cm dilated, baby's heartbeat was slow so they needed to put me on continuous monitoring, strapped to bed because the baby's heartbeat would drop as I moved around! Then came the drip to induce contractions, and epidural because the pain was so severe. 2 emergency c section scares during the labour. then when I was 10cm dilated the baby's heartbeat dropped again so they had to give me an episiotomy and ventouse. Then lost lots of blood and ended up in hospital for 2 more days on drips and blood transfusions! I couldn't do skin to skin as I was too faint post delivery, but the last thing I remember was my baby being put on my DH body.

But after all that, it was so worth it just to look at my baby. He is so adorable I could just look at him forever.

The thing that they don't tell u re labour and birth is that ultimately even if things don't go your way, just looking at the most amazing baby makes nothing else in the world matter!!!

A bit sore but breastfeeding. Hopefully will get some advice re a better latch from someone as my nipples are starting to get sore.

Am on bed rest. Night again!!!!

mopsytop · 14/12/2011 09:45

Wow that sounds like a stressful birth experience Falala. But I am glad you are happy now and that all is well. Congratulations on baby Ariaan!

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 14/12/2011 09:52

Congrats Falala Sounds like quite a birth but glad you & DS is okay Smile

bennybenbear · 14/12/2011 09:55

Well done Falalala, sounds like you have done so well. Glad you and Ariaan are good now.

AnAirOfHope · 14/12/2011 09:55

Congrats to Falala and baby Ariaan

I have put photo of air and hope on profile and of our snowmen Grin

Have a good day everyone

jinglebum · 14/12/2011 10:07

congrats falala - sounds a difficult labour but so glad all is well now.

darcies - I was only 2cm and thick posterier cervix when examined at 1030 am but things can change v quickly with second babies. 3 hours later freya was here!

anyone else getting horrible after pains? did not know about these! worse with second/third labours apparently. a lot of pain last night.

also anyone got any advice on getting freya to settle in her moses basket? she has not slept more than a couple of hours max at a time and usually on one of us - got max of 2 hours sleep last night again! hoping my milk is coming in today so she can get more milk. she seems to feed all the time!

DeckTheHawthersWithBells · 14/12/2011 10:15

DS hated his Moses basket. We ended up putting him into a cot and he was much happier. We put him in it across way rather than the usual up and down with a nursing pillow to reduce the size of the cot ifyswim. Worth a try?

festivefiggy · 14/12/2011 10:40

40+5 no sign of any arrival other than my parents to meet their grandchild.......bloody Xmas!! I have a feeling I'm going To go the full hog and need induced which will be between 21st and 23rd just to teach me a lesson for having had such an easy mainly symptom free pregnancy.

Been snowing here today which has sent DH into a panic as he hates driving especially in wet weather honestly even though we've been to the hospital 6 times he'll still need the sat nav to get there. Part of me thinks at least if I get induced I can drive to hospital it would be much less stressful.

Who is going to be next I wonder? Not heard from tinsel since yesterday maybe that sweep worked after all Smile

Cherrypi · 14/12/2011 11:35

40+4 here. Starting to understand why people complain about their relatives bothering them at this stage. Everyone seems to have expected the baby to have arrived on the due date. Feeling like posting on Facebook something about gestational time in humans grr. Also feel like they're blaming me for him not being born.

DeckTheHawthersWithBells · 14/12/2011 11:59

ooh cherrypi me too - i'm not even over due yet and i keep getting asked by DH and the rest of the clan if the baby is on its way yet. biting my tongue not to reply "oh yes, i've been in active labour for about 4 hours but with my extremely high pain threshold you haven't noticed and i didn't think it was worth mentioning" or " oh sorry, did i forget to say - i had it last thursday and forgot to tell you DM/DMIL" or "ah yes, i've booked it in to arrive in 3 days, 13 hours, 21 mins and 34 seconds time so give me a call after that".

msbaublestwinkle · 14/12/2011 12:24

Congratulations falala I'm glad that things are going well now and that you are feeling positive.

Lots of sympathy for those who are being badgered...do people really believe you would all have babies and just not tell anyone!

Cherrypi · 14/12/2011 12:26

Ooh deck so tempting to say those things. Know they mean it nicely and not been bothered at all today so far. Smile

aethelfleda · 14/12/2011 12:33

Woohoo falalaa, well done! So glad that you made it through alright and have a lovely DS to ogle at. Enjoy being back home together, and have a brie sandwich and glass of something nice for those of us still waiting!

cherripi: I've already been accosted in school playground (am 38 weeks) to say "ooh, I didn't see you yesterday- I thought you'd had it!". Thanks love, but my enormous bump would suggest otherwise....
