Hopefully no one else has done it while my phone is messing about!

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 11/12/2011 09:36

Bee that sounds like my class! Are you doing NCT with Virgil?

Yy to the being tired of grunting when rolling over in bed Grin... And putting on shoes... And picking things up...

Am super impressed with the 6am baking! Mmmm cake...

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 11/12/2011 09:42

Oh and worm I know it's not a competition but if it makes you feel any better , my DH was put on a last minute trip to America this weekend and so is at least five hours away Sad. He also may have to go away to the middle east from Dec 15-20, and it would be almost impossible for him to get back early. I'm hoping he can get taken off that particular trip... Hmm

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 11/12/2011 09:43

bah. DH left before I woke up today which I hate, cos it means I go the whole day without seeing anyone at all. :(

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 11/12/2011 09:46

You OK ghost? Not having to deal with SiL's situation while DH is away I hope?

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 11/12/2011 10:04

Thanks cakes. SIL is a totally different person since therapy started - so much easier to be around, and quite giggly at times! We had lunch out yesterday and didn't struggle at all. Yey for therapy!

And how funny - I love the odd day when I don't have to see anyone Grin. Have friends coming around today though so must get up and crack on... It must be much harder when you work from home though - once, DH was away for 4 weeks and in the middle of that everyone from the office was away for a week. I only saw people when I went training in the evenings and that was hard work...

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 11/12/2011 10:09

well yes, I spend about 80% of my awake time alone, so I miss him when he's gone.

So glad to hear about SiL's improvement - must be such a load off you both

Mum2be79 · 11/12/2011 10:34

Morning!

OMG - baking at 6am???? (Why didn't I think of that?) I was up at 5am so decided to watch discovery health channel, have a mug of ovaltine and some crunchy nut cornflakes.

Went back to bed at 7am (with a 'Rascal') and 'slept' until 9:30am. My reason for getting up? AN OVERACTIVE PEANUT WHO STILL HAS NOT STOPPED MOVING SINCE 4AM!!!!!! (He/she has hiccups now!)

I cannot shift this virus/cold thingy. Cough is no worse but no better. I've started with a blocked nose (not good considering my history with these things) and a sneezing fit at 6am! DH is being lovely - leaving me to my own devices. I am planning on slumming it today in my jim-jams. I have every excuse to - poorly with a 'sticky' virus, a broken toe and 37 weeks to day!!!! Grin

FrillyMilly · 11/12/2011 10:35

I could do with a night without DH. I'm snoring, tossing, turning an moaning all night so neither of us is sleeping well. I feel so guilty for disturbing him but I could also do with a good nights sleep.

I've been having some back ache. Pretty sure I'm getting a UTI or thrush. Can't tell if back ache is SPD or possible UTI. When not pregnant I can tell straight away when an infection is starting but so many aches and niggles its hard to tell what's what. I was at the midwives on Friday so I would have thought that would pick up a UTI but then again I've had them before where they haven't been picked up by stick test. What to do??

Wormshuffler · 11/12/2011 10:47

Ghost you win on the most inconvenient dh job . [Grin]
I have never been a snorer before but keep waking myself up doing it! Hope that buggers off after the birth! I must admit frilly it was nice to have the whole bed to myself last night. I built a den around me using 8 pillows! Is the backache constant or just when you move?

FrillyMilly · 11/12/2011 10:54

I only snore when pregnant so it does go away!! The back ache is every so often. Most of my SPD has been my hips. I'm not sure if baby may be engaging too as DD never engaged so I don't know what that feels like.

Anyone else got leaking boobs? DD was upset yesterday and my top was soaking afterwards!!

SantaSHO · 11/12/2011 11:53

cakes hope your not duffering too much today after those heels yesterday

No leaky boobs here sorry.

I have been known to be a snorer at times but one of the perks of a nightshift working dp is he cant moan if im snoring Xmas Grin

The cocodamol helped enough to get me to sleep, did not make the baby drowsy as it has been dancing all night and all morning. Dd on the otherhand has kept me up most of the night and had the cheek to ask why I was yawning this morning. She woke up loads of times during the night and was convinced it was morning everytime. Shaking me singing 'Morning mummy, wakey wakey, cartoon time!'

Got some cupboard reorganising to do today. Which should result in the kids room looking like a kids room and not storage.

Hope everyone is having a quite Sunday and keeping their legs crossed!

Sho x

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 11/12/2011 12:03

Bit sore, Sho, thanks for asking, but not nearly as bad as it could be. Am distracting myself watching cookery programmes and crocheting DH a black cat paperweight for Xmas :)

trubble · 11/12/2011 12:57

Relatively productive morning so far. Peppermint creams made (glitter stars and green xmas trees - just need white choc frosting) and NIgella Xmas pudding truffles almost made - just waiting for dh to come back with the mini cases for them to go into and Xmas pudding vodka filtering through muslin. Starting to feel quite festive.
Admittedly the rest of the house looks like a bomb has exploded but at least I've managed to check a few things off the to do list Xmas Smile

Wormshuffler · 11/12/2011 13:18

I can't stop trumping! Sometimes they are so loud the baby jumps !

SantaSHO · 11/12/2011 14:20

So wish I had my tree up! Dd is sitting singing Christmas songs and making me feel all festive.
trubble your baking sounds devine, any going spare?
Xmas Grin

supadupaturkeystupour · 11/12/2011 15:15

baby really active, i'm knackered and i have a sunday lunch to cook

grrrrr grrrrrr grrrrr

supadupaturkeystupour · 11/12/2011 15:15

worm haha! me too!

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 11/12/2011 16:34

worm and supa me three - all night Blush

Yay found a breakfast that works so feel a bit less miserable today. Had about an hour's hormonal weepie fit as I hadn't managed a single meal in control for 2 days. Told OH off for not being supportive etc. he just told me was my own fault rather than just giving me a hug. Blush

Unfortunately brekkie was plain bacon and egg with nothing. I can't eat that everyday and the reading was almost a bit too low but at least I have something to build on now. Smile

SantaSHO · 11/12/2011 17:24

Festive stalker, festive spirit or wrong door???

We got an unadressed (no name on envelope or inside) Christmas card put through our door today.
It simply said 'from Brenda at no. 30'

From what I can figure out 'brenda' lives at the top

SantaSHO · 11/12/2011 17:29

Argh dd made me hit send. She's obsessed with my phone just now.

Anyway, 'brenda' lives at the top of the street alone with her cats. I think she's early 30s. We can see her house from ours.
She doesn't acknowledge us when passing in the street, and she walks passed our door regularly to visit family in the next street.

Just for fun, what's your theory ?!?

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 11/12/2011 18:39

Parsley - how is it your own fault? :(

There's nothing that wrong with bacon and eggs - basically you need lots of protein it would seem. Grill the bacon, scramble or poach the eggs and add vegetables if you want a bit more 'health' - a nice grilled tomato maybe?

You could always vary things a bit, have an omelette with different fillings (mushrooms, peppers, feta cheese) and so on. Dh has breakfasts like that (with a bit more carb content though) when he's training because they have longer lasting energy.

Bellakins · 11/12/2011 18:44

Maybe Brenda wants to get to know you and your family better and thought card would be a nice way to break the ice? Thank her for the card next time you see her and see what happens! Strange she previously didn't acknowledge you though.

Anyone else really struggling to sleep? The last two nights I've just tossed and turned all night which is making both me and husband pretty miserable. Fingers crossed for a better night tonight as I have to get up at 6am to go to work and it certainly ain't getting any easier with interrupted sleep like that!

Also, not had any BH yet, is that normal? 36 weeks tomorrow.

Hope everyone else is well.

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 11/12/2011 18:49

No noticeable Higgs Bosons here yet either and I'm 35+3...

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 11/12/2011 19:06

Thanks cakes he meant it was my own fault that I'd got into a state about it apparently as I wasn't listening to myself. Hmm. I've explained it's the hormones and he does understand but he's so used to me being reasonable and logical normally that he is struggling when I have a "moment". He's making me spreadsheet all the food now so I feel more in control

The problem is it doesn't feel right just eating protein. I had the egg "fried" with no oil and the bacon grilled so it wasn't too bad. I'm going to try scrambled egg tomorrow with one slice of toast. It's a portion size issue with the carbs I think. 2 slices is too much and none is very low so I am hopefulSmile

Bellakins · 11/12/2011 19:09

Glad to know I'm not alone Makescakes!

Currently washing all baby clothes, blankets and sheets and preparing to pack my hospital bag. Eeek ... finally sinking in that there's going to be a baby at the end of this!
