Hi

Hooray avoided induction Clever girl Tara (2nd names TBC) born at last yesterday at 8.11am. She weighed 9 pounds 15 and she is really lovely.

First stage took about an hour and 3 quarters. Was getting a bit worried in the car on the way to hospital as contractions so close. But then couldnt push her out - head flexed wrong way. C/S loomed but they ventoused her so got her thank goodness. ONly 4 hours overall hooray.

Very happy - feeding like a good un. Glad not waiting any more.

WIll try to catch up when I can. Hope all others get their little treasures soon!

NotAcow · 28/01/2006 22:49

hotmama · 29/01/2006 18:59

Congrats to all the new births. Blimmin heck the last one was a whopper - well done you!

Well, today is my due date and looks like I'm going to be late again. Just as well I have been posting on the Feb 06 thread - always thought I'd be having a Feb baby.

Eshay · 30/01/2006 12:47

Hi, I've completely lost track. Is there anyone still waiting besides Hotmama? Congratulations to everyone - there are some huge babies! My little Alex is a lot smaller than his brother was so I'm very pleased to have a little cuddler.

I'll move on to the post natal thread now, I'm sure it's about amile long already. Before I do, Mumfun, I am mixing Bf'ing and bottle feeding too. I had pretty much planned this from the beginning as I struggled quite a bit last time. Like you, I would spend all night feeding and the poor little sould just never seemed satisfied. I have now hireda Medela breastpump and am pumping quite a bit, am giving him formula and am sticking him on the boob too. So we're doing everything under the sun and so far it seems to be working. Luckily the midwives haven't tried to convince me otherwise, maybe because this is my second they know to leave me to make my own decisions. As they say, breast is best but if you are suffering it's not good for your baby either so you just have to see what works best for you. Good luck.

Rach69 · 30/01/2006 16:36

Congratulations to Mumfun, Lilstarry and Barrelrider - well done - see you all on the post-natal thread!

lilstarry1 · 30/01/2006 20:58

Ok, my brain has been completed fluffed by baby, where is the post-natal thread that I should be joining? I'm keen to read how everyone else is doing.. but I just don't know where to go .

Thank you in advance who ever can send me on my merry way

hunkermunker · 30/01/2006 22:09

It's here, Lilstarry

Looking forward to seeing you there!

horseshoe · 31/01/2006 18:31

Hi all...

Well baby Hannah made her appearance last Wednesday and I am finally home. It was a very easy birth and only needed Gas and Air in the end despite my previous insistance on an epidural. Her arm is the only damage done by the bands and she is perfect in every way. They are booking her in for a heart scan to ensure no internal problems but say that she seems very healthy.

COngrats to everyone and I will see you all in post-natal!!

Mumfun · 31/01/2006 20:43

Good to see you Horseshoe and many congrats

hunkermunker · 01/02/2006 01:09

Congratulations, Horseshoe! Welcome to the world, Hannah Hope the heart scan is all clear.

iris66 · 01/02/2006 07:56

Hello and big congrats to everyone. Waiting worthwhile!

Finally (40+11) LO arrived. NOt the big red head girl everyone expecting but teeny tiny (6lb 2oz) dark haired boy, Edward. Gorgeous. Long induction but only in labour a short time before things acclerated to very painful very quickly. Had to ask for epidural - docs noticed his heart rate dropping whilst putting it in. So within 20 minutes decision taken to do emergency section as I was not dilating but in serious pain and really not sure what was happening with him. Turns out he was beginning to get distressed, in completely the wrong place, and tiny because fluid too little.

But all safe and sound now. Am fine myself, bit sore (feeling of being trampled on anyone?) but relieved, healthy and happy.

Isn't life fab?

hotmama · 02/02/2006 10:05

Congrats stripeybumps mum - glad it went O.K. when did you have ds?

Well, I am now 4 days overdue - so just as well I have been posting on the Feb thread.

Had an overdue appt yesterday - cervix still posterier etc - so couldn't do a sweep - absolutley gutted. I am booked in for an induction next Thursday - hopefully won't come to that - dd1 was 9 days late so here is hoping things might start moving over the weekend.

Hope you girls are doing O.K.

hunkermunker · 02/02/2006 11:20

Congratulations, SBM! Welcome to Edward

HM - thinking of you - hope it happens very soon x x x

Eshay · 02/02/2006 11:36
