i've got alex and me booked in for cranial oseopathy too, in a couple of weeks. he's a poor feeder too, very slow, although improving. i just thought i'd get him checked over really with him being such a big baby and me struggling to get him out at the end. i think his head did get crushed quite a lot! it's a "free" clinic i'm taking him to, where you pay what you can afford, so that's good, and they treat mums too with conventional osteopathy if you have any back problems. so i'm quite looking forward to that.

alex is having a long sleep this am, my boobs need him to wake up! ooh i can just hear him stirring via the monitor, maybe i'll have to go...

Oh sweetkitty, I'm feeling for you now. I really hope it happens soon for you.
I'm only 36 weeks and already beginning to get impatient for baby to arrive, I'm still working.

Will you blog your labour like Hunker? I found hers fascinating.

Hope your day gets better x x x x x x

sweetkitty · 20/01/2006 12:39

Lyra - that cranial osteopathy clinic sounds fab, think you should have a back massage on the NHS as standard after you have had a baby.

MrsDoolittle - thanks for the best wishes it does mean a lot, I know what you mean because my first DD was early I have been ready to have this one since about 36 weeks but she refuses to budge. If I get to have my homebirth I will definately be online to tell you all about it!

Well phoned MW and she said to come up the clinic and have a sweep. Baby is fine, my BP and urine fine too, they even did a little scan for me. Sweep was yuck though, cervix is 1-2 cm and in the middle so neither posterior or anterior dunno if thats a good thing. So it's a waiting game to see if it works now. Have been booked in for an induction next Saturday if it all fails

Eshay and M2OAB - hope things are moving along for you too as well.

Hi

Just to say very impatient MF here and no signs at all - cant beleive it. DS was only 6 days late and am now 4 days. Must be a boy as a girl would have got her act together by now. Midwife said this week that having gone into labour naturally last time and this one better presented I should do so again so its frustrating.

Fab news from Iris and Rachey - congratulations.

Very very big now - have very big baby - think over 10 pounds so a bit of a concern due to last times aftermath. STretchmarks ten times worse than first time round - dont know why. Go to hospital Monday for 41 week assessment if nothing happens weekend. SO weekend again of pineapple, curry and sex!

Joy of sweep etc then beckons and they would then say induction but I may say please a C section instead -dont know what theyll say to that.

Welcome Barrelrider . Hope you get as much out of this thread as I have.

Bye for now

BBWBabeLisa · 20/01/2006 17:00

hi folks
typing one handed as holding lola, so please excuse lack of caps etc
sorry not been keeping on top of messages, but not been very well. got infection in cs wound thats causing agony.
on plus side lola's a joy, she is the most contented wee baby i've ever seen. all she seems to do is sleep, and on the odd times she's awake she just lies there and gurgles happily to herself. if she has a midnight feed she only wakes once at 4am ish for night feed then sleeps thru til after 8am. couldnt have asked for more.
still struggling with bf and her not latching but persevering.
big congrats to all who have had their wee bundles recently and good luck to those still waiting.

lis xxx

hotmama · 20/01/2006 18:56

2 more ladies from the Feb thread are going to have babies next week - going to be induced and have a c-section on Tuesday! not at being induced or having a section but at no longer being pregnant!

I am going to be pissed off if I go overdue again!

How are you gals doing - any progress?

Mum2OneAndBump · 20/01/2006 18:57

Hi all,

Well Little Sophie (no middle name yet) was born this morning at 5.14am weighing 7lbs 14ozs, she has taken to the breast very well & is so petite & goregous

I will do a birth announcement another day as very sore & tired had 40 mins sleep since yesterday 6.30am!

She entered the world very very quickly & i done it with only gas & air even know i was beggin & pleding for an epidural but i went from 4cm to 9.5cm in 1hr

I started having contractions whilst being checked at hospital at 9.36pm i came home still having contractions at 11pm i lasted till 3am & got back to hospital at 3.30am was 4cm dilated, then started on gas & air after 2 more contractions i could not take the pain & was beggin for more pain relief, but was moved to labour room & at 5am was 9.5cm dilated with the urge to push & at 5.14am sophie was born
read my notes & it said first stage 1hr 5 mins second 9 mins & 3rd 4mins, i was in total shock to say the least!!!

I have one small internal tear otherwise all is well just feeling sore and shattered.

sorry about spelling mistakes i am to tired

Goodluck to everyone else who is waiting, try lucozade it worked for me lol

Eshay hope your doing well will pop on to see everyones news in a couple of days.

Take care & get those babys out

hotmama · 20/01/2006 18:59

Congrats - 14mins of pushing - fab!

horseshoe · 20/01/2006 19:41

Oh gosh, COngrats to everyone. So many to mention now. Makes my looming birth seem all the more the real.

Sweetkitty....any signs yet??

I had a sweep yesterday and MW said I was 1 cm dialated and cervix very soft but still high up so she didn't think it would work. However had a show 4 hours later and some niggling pain so I'm hoping something shifted even though I feel no pain at the moment!!!! they do say 48 hours though so m keeping my fingers crossed.

sweetkitty · 20/01/2006 21:49

hi all still nothing to report here, not a show nothing!

Mumfun - it's so frustrating isn't it? Don't think I can face another weekend of pineapple, curry and sex.

Lisa - good to see you hun sorry to hear about the scar yuck think it's quite common though. You sound so loved up with your little princess. It's the best feeling in the world isn't it, you can be as gushy on here as you want! Keep going with the breastfeeding it will be worth it in the end, the first 3-4 weeks were a nightmare I found but it gets easier I can assure you. Have you contacted a specialised BF counsellor yet? They can come round and check your latch and they are really lovely and will make you feel you are doing a great job too.

M2OAB - Have already posted on your announcement thread but have some more congratulations. Sounds like a good labour (if there ever is such a thing) and little Sophie sounds georgous, can't wait for the pics. It's a little boy you have already isn't it? How's be taking to being a big brother?

Horseshoe - how are you doing? Think it is fantastic you have got to your due date too.

hotmama - if Due in Feb start having their babies I will be very too, it's not fair!

Eshay - I hope your lack of posting is a good sign and you have had a wonderful VBAC and have your little boy in your arms.

Think I will update our stats tomorrow when Hunkers announced and M2OAB has a middle name, getting very that names are starting to drop from under mine now as well, luckily they did a quick scan today or I would be thinking there's nothing in here!!

Hi all, not had a chance to catch up - have posted birth announcement and a pic in member profiles - James Jonathan, born at 2.05 on 18/01/06 weighing 8lb 1oz. Labour 8 hours start to finish, no pain relief, not a waterbirth as too quick = 5 minute second stage! James is perfect - am besotted! Hope all those still waiting have their babies soon - SK, I hope you're in labour now!

iris66 · 21/01/2006 06:26

Morning all - have finally caught up (i think!)

Sweetkitty - that you're still waiting honey. Your LO clearly wants everyone to be waiting with bated breath - a diva before she's even here At least now you have then end in sight with a firm date (small consolation I know - sorry)

M2OAB - CONGRATULATIONS on Sophie's arrival!! (ouch at the speed of your delivery though!)

Eshay - hope you got your VBAC & that you have your LO now too!

Horeshoe - so pleased to hear from you & that you made your EDD!! won't be long now before you meet your beautiful DD too!

MumFun - I agree that there have been quite a few big babies so far - what a healthy lot we are!

Barrelrider - welcome to the thread and at the insensitive comments. Some people will try to find fault with anything wont they - even babies - shame on them !

NotACow - did you get your mum to do a sweep in the end? Hope you've not long to wait now.

BBWBabeLisa - sympathies over the infection hon but how lucky are you that Lola is such a contented baby! (every cloud and all that!)

Chuffed - long time no hear & now we know why! - poor you! and DS! Good job you're not on your own trying to cope though ((hugs)) to you both.

Dominic is still feeding on behalf of a small African nation (I've posted a few pix of him on yahoo) but my milk came in last night so hopefully he'll be fuller for longer now and allow my poor shredded nips a chance to heal!! (I'd forgotten how instant the XL boob job was!! )

BTW top tip (whilst I remember)- homeopathy for cracked nips/engorged boobs is phytolacca - works a treat!

Hope you all have lovely weekends - we have visitors coming so probably wont get a chance to post for a few days. xx

sweetkitty · 21/01/2006 07:12

Morning Iris - good to see it's not just me up at this time! Been up since 4.30am with horrendous sinus pain and a headache. Was really naughty and took 2 co-codamol from my post labour stock!

Well it looks like the sweep didn't work and even managed to have sex last night which has got to be the most unromantic sex I have ever had poor DP. Feeling very down today about it all but DP is off so I think we are going to go out for a few hours shopping so may buy myself a little treat. Looks like I am going to have one little impatient madam and another one who'll make us wait.

Hunker - already posted my congratulations but congratulations again, whats your secret for one of these pain free labours (although I think DD2 will be born ready for school at this rate)!

Hope everyone else has a great weekend with their new babies and hopefully I'll be joining you soon on the post natal thread.

OP posts:
iris66 · 21/01/2006 07:16

Sweetkitty - massage your fingers for the sinus pain honey - go up from the base firmly to the tips of each finger in turn (if one finger feels tender then work that one more) also massage the centre of the pad of your thumb (double whammy - will help sinus and stimulate hormones for labour)

You'd probably feel any tenderness better if you did your feet but there's probably nobody there to do them for you at the mo! Hope it eases soon for you (((hugs)))

iris66 · 21/01/2006 07:17

sorry - meant to add - massage both sides of your fingers (palm sides and fronts) for best effect) x

good morning all

a bad night with mastitis for me last night - high temp and sore boobs, so gave in and took the penicillin, hopefully that will do the job. i'm a bit disappointed as i'd thought my homeopathic remedy had worked, but as long as i get better, who cares!

iris, i've been taking the phytolacca too for my nips, but i have to say that hasn't really worked either. the homeopath says it's because there's a maintaining cause, i.e. a little mega sucker who can't latch on properley and won't allow them to heal! the pain of feeding is improving most of the time tho, sometimes when he gets a good latch it's not too bad at all. roll on when that happens most of the time! sorry to hear you've got nipple pain too.
going to look at photos now, can't wait to see little Dominic.

Mumfun · 21/01/2006 12:12

hi

still no birth. Congrats to Hunker and Mum2AB.

Just to say Lansinoh was brilliant for my nips protecting them from cracks last time.

Lovely to hear all the babe stories.

AT this rate wil have to break into Yahoo and post some pics -confined to barracks and not up to much else.

But it is a lovely day and still getting sleep so cant complain

Bye for now

Eshay · 21/01/2006 14:14

This is on behalf of Es as he is still in hospital.

She gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Alexander Laurence in the early hours of Friday morning (2:18am). Alex was 52cm long and weighed 3.58kg (7lb14.5oz) at birth.

Labour went well for a bit but there were signs of possible problems (babies heart rate dropping etc) so a crash c-section was ordered. Both baby and mother are well and no doubt Es will post here with further details at the soonest possible moment (such is her addiction)...

Mike (hubby)

NotAcow · 21/01/2006 15:36

congrats to you both! glad all is well now, esp after the 'crash c-section' drama...

GeorginaP · 21/01/2006 17:47

Hi there, just popping on to say HUGE congrats to

Rachey

Iris

Hunker

Eshay

M2OAB

on the births of your gorgeous bubs.

Bloody wonderful news.

Hope you're all suitably loved up and cuddling your little ones.

What a fab choice of names. I think we've done pretty well as a group.

Finally got rid of the in-laws so me and DH have had quiet day with Libby as Mollie is with her dad. She's feeding well, but seems to have her 'witching hour' between 3 - 5am..... which is making the old bags under the eyes quite prominent!

Sweetkit - I am thinking about you every day. I really, really hope that something happens for you soon. Hope sinsus pain has gone. Have you tried bowl of hot water and some karvol. Put a towel over your head and inhale.

Hope everyone else is hanging in there.

G xx

sweetkitty · 21/01/2006 18:10

Hi Georgie good to see you and glad Libby is doing well, I think all the names are great too. DP and I have still discussing them (even at this late stage).

Many congratulations Eshay and Mr Eshay on the birth of Alexander!! Glad it all went well though crash c-section does sound v scary.

Spent all afternoon asleep which was lovely DP made lunch and looked after DD all day. So I feel much better thanks, pharmacist in Boots was horrid and told me theres nothing I can take for the pain. I'm just taking some paracetamol to be honest I think today would not be a good day to push a baby out and my body is making sure I'm over this cough/cold etc (thats my theory anyway).

Going to get v lonely in here during the next week so I may waddle over to the post natal thread.

OP posts:
barrelrider · 21/01/2006 20:07

Hi all

Congratulations to Eshay and M21B!!!!!

I'm now 3 days overdue and am fully expecting to be pregnant next weekend and induced early the week after, so some way to go! Hoping the reverse psychology helps so to get into the spirit of this, my hub and I drove 100 miles today to look at a car we want to buy - very brave of me as I've been confining myself to the flat for past week thinking my waters would burst if I went outside!!!

Needless to say no waters, no pains, no show. Have just drunk 2 pints of lucozade and now feel very bloated!!! Eye-watering vindaloo last night didn't do anything, have tried some prostaglandin (hub thinks it's Christmas, I have been totally off sex for months and months!!) which didn't do anything either.

I am putting on a lot of weight and eating rubbish.

Hope everyone else ok, well done to everyone who is 'the other side' and thinking about SK and Mumfun - soon be our turn - you 2 before me I reckon!!

sweetkitty · 21/01/2006 21:10

No offence but I hope so barrelrider, when I was pregnant with DD1, DP and I travelled all the way across London on a Sunday to pick up our new car then DP had to drive it back with no insurance or tax!! Very scary, so anyway the next day we start to get everything sorted for it and guess who decided to turn up? Yea DD1, hope it's an omen for you.

I know what you mean about sitting in the house waiting for waters to break, with the weather we've been having and me being so ill I've been virtually housebound for the past 2 weeks, went out today though, think you need the reassurance of having DP/DH there just in case.

Have had 2 pints of lucozade today as well, totally off food though forcing myself to keep eating. Bought a pineapple too but cannot face eating it today will tomorrow though.

I am fully expecting to still be pregnant next week too this baby does not want to come out at all.
