Sorry for the new thread and crap name but i needed to start one oi how are you doing good luck xxx

I have fallen off the face of MN for a week or so and have loadsss to catch up on! I have been busy doing coursework and seriously nesting!!

PGP is awful, to the point of making me cry, finally got a pyshio app, but not for another 2 weeks :( doesnt seem much point. OH continues not to even attempt a massage if i ask and rolls his eyes.

Been having really bad shooting pains that take my breath away, but seems as though baby is head down (and very low) im guessing its a nerve he is on.

Very strange and TMI... but earlier (when i went to the toilet) i could feel what felt like the head bulging on the outside, through my lady garden lol... freaked me out!!

Good luck oi !! Fingers crossed

tye glad you took the sick advice!!

Do you think the estimated weight is more likely to be accurate though as ive been getting scans every 2-4 weeks. If they all say the same thing then can they still all be inaccurate?

lalababy · 02/11/2011 14:26

Hawthers can't your Dh just be honest with his BFF and say... that time is really close to the due date so we don't know how easy this is gonna be to have someone else at the house at the time. Can you see if you can find an alternative place to stay... if not... you can stay at ours but don't expect that we will be relaxed / have time etc.

lalababy · 02/11/2011 14:29

FYI... I am seriously starting to panic now... I feel completely unprepared for the birth and the baby! I took mat leave 3 weeks before my due date thinking that would give me loads of time to pack my hospital bag, wash all the baby stuff etc. But now I am thinking I should really get a cracking straight away... but so tired!!!

hawthers · 02/11/2011 14:45

he's actually pretty good at looking after himself finding some young totty to go and stay with so i shouldn't be an issue i guess. it might be better to embrace it...

lala am also feeling very unprepared for the birth etc (although i have longer than you to go) am going with the head in the sand approach.

plupervert · 02/11/2011 14:46

Tyelperion, the rule of thumb for babies' dress is one layer more than adults are wearing. I'm planning to have a snowsuit even in the pram, as I will be moving, so the baby needs the blanket as well as the snowsuit, IYSWIM

Sorry your "fishwife" and her extra scan distressed you, Mmmcheese, but just keep in mind you were safe in the hospital, and so was baby!

Hawthers, it really depends on what this man is like. Even if he's great, he won't be getting much attention from his "BFF" if your DH is running around after you (and catching up and sleep), so it doesn't sound worth it.

kri5ty · 02/11/2011 14:50

Thanks for the thoughts girls :) I just honestly think OH thinks Im taking the piss to be honest! Plus he works for 12 hours a day so is prob too tired!

Honey* my tea box says to stop if you get bh after drinking

*lala get posting lol we need a new thread name!

Oooo also... is anyone else NOT having bh yet?! X

mopsytop · 02/11/2011 14:51

I'm not having BH kri5ty but I am only 32+3 so I wouldn't expect to be really.

hawthers · 02/11/2011 14:55

i don't even know i fi'm having BH - thought i might be yesterday while trotting home but not too sure. will i know when they appear?

plupervert · 02/11/2011 14:58

I think I might be having BH, but only notice them at night, so perhaps I just have a crap, weak womb! Grin That would be consistent with my extremely lengthy labour with DS - I simply couldn't be uter-arsed!

AwomancalledHorse · 02/11/2011 15:02

Oh, thanks mopsy & Kri5ty, didn't realise I could book them through GP (and will chase up if physio will let me self book)!

I find raspberry tea much more managable with a spoonful of sugar! Squatter seems to wake up and dance whenever I eat/drink so I've not noticed if it happens more after tea!

DH is starting to get very hormonal and emotional whenever we watch something with children in, think he realises there isn't long to go!

Glad you're ok Oi!!

lalababy · 02/11/2011 15:43

Anyway... I have decided to be super grumpy today and instead of talking about highs... I figure here is my

List of things re pregnancy things that are pissing me off confusing me!!!

  1. Don't know if I am having BH or not. Sometimes my tummy goes super tight all way around - but it doesn't feel that uncomfortable - is this BH or just the baby moving around?
  2. Has the baby engaged or not? Feel a pain under my ribs but also something low in my pelvis... when I feel around a head/butt/back and thigh all feel the same to me!!!
  3. Baby doesn't stop moving and it drives me bonkers...but then he stops and I get worried...ridiculous!!!
  4. Everytime my DH and I "practice" hypnobirthing relaxation stuff like listening to the rainbow relaxation my DH falls asleep within 2 minutes rather than doing anything to help me relax... is this what labour will be like?
  5. I feel like I should be doing my perneal massage...yet never seem to get the time

Grrrrrrr

bennybenbear · 02/11/2011 15:51

I'm not sure if i'm having BH yet either (guess that means i'm not!).

lala I could have written that list lol!

Kri5ty we need to arrange another meet up with OHs as mine is quite good so could try and get some of it to rub off on yours! I often feel like i'm taking the p*ss advantage of my poor DH as he does so much for me! Oh well, make the most of it I reckon!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 02/11/2011 16:06

Afternoon Ladies,

Mmmm Good to hear your scan went alright.

Oi hope your doing okay today.

Weather is pants here today. DD has Rainbows at 5pm for an hr. So can get some stuff together and then chill.

jigglebum · 02/11/2011 16:10

Afternoon ladies - haven't posted for ages but have been trying to keep up - certainly gone crazy on here recently.

Hope you are ok Oi and hope everyone else is ok. Exciting to think we will have some birth announcements on here soon.

I have 5 and a half weeks to go in theory but for some reason I think this one will come early. I have had BH already and didn't with DS but at same time head is not engaged yet so perhaps it won't. Feeling really tired now and have 3 weeks left at work in theory - ahhh! Although actually days with DS are more tiring in some ways. We also have the builders in knocking down walls in the kitchen , so all a bit crazy.

I had a growth scan too the other week mmm as was measuring small for dates but scan revealed size was average in every way. Think we all just carry differently.

RE muslins - I have loads from DS (probably about 20) but he was the least sicky baby ever so most are still unused! Re clothing - I was probably thinking - long sleeved body and baby grow and cardy in Winter. Also have a snow suit and pram has a foot muff so might be a bit much! also - don't forget to take baby a hat for the hospital. We did not have one and DS ended up with a bandage and sock arrangement thing on his head as they were a bit obbessed by keeping his head warm!

KateM77 · 02/11/2011 16:13

No BH here. Didn't get any throughout last pregnancy either

DarciesmumandBump2 · 02/11/2011 16:13

RE Muslins they are great to have around. I have about 25, not that DD was a sicky baby but handy to have.

Cheeptrick · 02/11/2011 16:22

I have not got muslins as i didn't use them last time i just have a load of swaddle wraps and mosses fitted sheets to change when baby is sick.

I have spent most of today running after son trying to put his eye drops in and the other half trying to get him to go to sleep Sad

Inbetween i have washed some more baby clothes and rearranged all my appointments till friday and got half of the deliever of baby stuff i was waiting for.

I just need to fix the fire gaurd and put the saftey gate up.

figgygal · 02/11/2011 17:34

Sorry ladies need to have a massive rant.

I did my ward tour today argued with DH the whole way there about best routes to hospital our options are through shorter country lanes with big hills or main roads but end up driving through parts of town.
Depending on weather conditions on day we will pick the route but He honestly has the worst sense of direction of anyone I've ever met and hates driving, gets very stressy and is generally going to be a nightmare. We've been to the hospital 5 times it's less than half an hour away but I would still have to direct him if sat nav wasn't on got to the stage today where I told him I would drive myself to hospital or get a taxi and he could stay home and various other niceties.

Got to hospital just in time the car park was full hence more arguing I had to leave him to find a space and go to join the tour he then turned up 20 minutes later having gotten lost again.

We now sitting at home arguing about the fact he wants a pet snake I am about ready to scream!!!!!!!!

On the plus side the tour was good ward was silent thankfully and found out can get private room if one available for £120 I will be definitely begging that off them if have to stay overnight.

Oh and top of all that my foot burst thru my favourite trainers today incredible hulk style since they are clearly expanding. I bought them in new York years ago and will never be able to replace them so had a little cry.

Sorry for the moan had enough today!!

sevensevenseven · 02/11/2011 17:52

Hope everyone has had a good day. I've only been having a few braxton hicks for the last few days, literally just one of two then they stop.

Had a very productive day shopping. I love how cheap Primark is but I still spent £70. My bargains included a pair of hospital bag slippers for £2, a BF nightshirt with buttons all the way down for £7 and two knitted dresses perfect maternity jumpers, £30 for both of them.

sevensevenseven · 02/11/2011 17:54

oi hope you're doing ok. I assume the fact you haven't posted since early am means you're still in hospital and things are progressing.

AwomancalledHorse · 02/11/2011 18:06

figgy, glad the tour went well! Sorry DH is really bad at directions/driving...although I had to 'lol' at you putting your foot through your trainers, crap that they're your favourite; my feet have started to feel really restricted in socks.

I've been having BH, had a day last week where they were every 20 mins for 3 hours, thought 'oh shit this is it!', phoned DH to let him know...and then they stopped. So now I'm just trying to ignore them Grin
seven, yay for your Primark shop! Good to know they have nightshirts suitable for breastfeeding, going in there on friday to get my 'birthing' & bf nighties.

I've not got any muslins, going to be using a stack of old flannels instead and somethings called burp towels that MIL wasted her money on.

Xiaoxiong · 02/11/2011 18:17

oh figgy that sucks! I must admit I am SO with you on the sadness of the loss of trainers. What brand were they? I bet you could find some more... Your and kri5ty's DHs need a wake-up call...

(also can I just ask - you used "gotten lost" - you're not American or Canadian are you? I am embroiled in a long-running argument with one of DH's colleagues about the grammatical nature of "gotten" so if you are English I can use this as a strike against his claim that a British English speaker would never use gotten as the past participle of the verb to get)

I am definitely having BH now - bump goes hard and I get period style pains. I walked a couple of miles today and it hurt!!

Also I just found out I will have a new cousin!! My uncle and his wife, who I believe have been fighting infertility for a while (NOT talked about in the family) are adopting a baby girl from the Congo - they just got the permission from the authorities and the orphanage in the Congo, now they are just working on the adoption process in the US. Saw a picture of her today, she is gorgeous - so sad that she was abandoned on the side of the road at a couple of days old but wonderful to know she is being adopted by people who will love her the way she deserves. I wonder what her relationship will be to our baby - if she is my first cousin, then my baby will be her...second cousin? first cousin once removed?

msbuggywinkle · 02/11/2011 18:21

DD1 is at her sleep over now! DD2 was a bit upset when we left her, but is quite enjoying the time with me now. My friend has loaned me her pregnancy massage cushion (bump hole in the middle!) so I can be comfy for my massage in a bit.

I get BH when I do something like run up and down stairs a couple of times in succession, but they go off when I stop moving.

Glad the scan was good mmm hope you're feeling a lot better than you were earlier.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 02/11/2011 18:31

Figgy sorry to hear your DH is pants at directions.

I'm thankful I have a secret F1 driver with a good sense of direction for when the time comes - just reminded him about bumps in the road lol.

Must be nesting, I done all my ironing because I wanted to Hmm
DD been to Rainbows and now in bed so I can put my feet up. DP made me my fav meal - Kedgeree :)

Very active baby tonight.

kri5ty · 02/11/2011 18:33

bec we should def meet up again.. and I love the idea of OH coming so yours can be a good influence!

figgy big hugs about oh, a pregnant lady is always right!

I have had no bh, belly is super hard all the time so I'm not sure I'd notice? But I'm only 34 +2
