Sorry for the new thread and crap name but i needed to start one oi how are you doing good luck xxx

I have fallen off the face of MN for a week or so and have loadsss to catch up on! I have been busy doing coursework and seriously nesting!!

PGP is awful, to the point of making me cry, finally got a pyshio app, but not for another 2 weeks :( doesnt seem much point. OH continues not to even attempt a massage if i ask and rolls his eyes.

Been having really bad shooting pains that take my breath away, but seems as though baby is head down (and very low) im guessing its a nerve he is on.

Very strange and TMI... but earlier (when i went to the toilet) i could feel what felt like the head bulging on the outside, through my lady garden lol... freaked me out!!

Good luck oi !! Fingers crossed

tye glad you took the sick advice!!

Hello all, loving the new thread name!

((hugs)) to everyone feeling the late pregnancy burn today.

Just experiencing some strange pains in lower bump and back - not sure if this is anything to report, but it really hurts ow ow ow... Maybe will move and see if it's just heavy baby

figgygal · 02/11/2011 18:46

Thanks ladies I've taken myself to bed for a sulk and to mourn the loss of my DKNY leather trainers ok they 8 years old but I love them! Going to keep 1 in my cupboard as have a lot of memories with those I still have my old pair of babycham trainers that was very attached to also.

I was having BH But they seem to have stopped??

Tyel am not from the other side of Atlantic but am Scottish that might have done it.

LittleMissFlustered · 02/11/2011 19:06

Evening ladies. Having a day, but wanted to check in and say I hope you're all well. Will perhaps be on better form tomorrow. Take care all, and get as much sleep as the community of parasites (we need a collective noun for in utero squatters) will allowWink

fusam · 02/11/2011 19:26

figgy my DH is a terrible driver too (nervous and stressy), I am booking a cab when the time comes and he can bring me and baby home and take the scenic route.

LMF imaginary Wine for you, hope tomorrow is a better day.

I am still pretty poorly with a chesty cold, if I hadn't had the flu jab I would swear that I had a touch of the bloody flu Hmm.

mopsytop · 02/11/2011 19:35

Tyel I am fairly sure you can say gotten lost in Ireland also.

KateM77 · 02/11/2011 19:36

After the high of the scan this morning, I'm now feeling very low. Every time I think DD is on the mend she takes another turn for the worse. She's had very little appetite again today and as her finale for the day she threw up what little she had eaten all over herself, over me and over the floor. I'm now feeling absolutely exhausted, wearing PJ bottoms (my jeans have sick on them!) and have abandoned all plans of proper cooking in favour of chucking something from the freezer into the oven

hawthers · 02/11/2011 20:10

fusam me too feel pretty darn ropey and can't take anything for it

lmf I'm having one too - keep bursting into tears all over the place and overreacting/ being rather irrational all day. Please god let this just be temporary hormone surge or something - can't bear being like this for the next however long

aethelfleda · 02/11/2011 21:06

Hope everyone feels a bit better tomorrow.

oi hope you are doing OK too...

Mmmmcheese · 02/11/2011 22:02

Does anyone else get sharp stabby pains at the bottom of their bump? Never had this before but really hurts! Had urine checked today and scan showed baby not engaged so not sure what it could be. Stretching? I'm totally paranoid now and worrying that every little thing means premature labour :(

kri5ty · 02/11/2011 23:59

I get them really really low down mmm they take my breath away and I have to stop what I'm doing, only last a second or two. My mw said its LOs head burrowing down and hitting a nerve etc x

OP posts:
PullyWoolOver · 03/11/2011 06:56

mmmm I get those too, right at bottom if bump. I think it's ligament stretching and general strain on undercarriage as LOs get bigger.

Ugh, cannot heave self out of bed today, feels like I didn't sleep a wink last night. Roll on mat leave!

Hope you all have a good day x

BeeMyBaby · 03/11/2011 06:56

all your BH talk yesterday started to give me very mild period pains. I think it must be a bit like when you found out someone at school had nits - you would automatically start to itch!

msbuggywinkle · 03/11/2011 07:27

Morning! squeeze

DD1 has had a successful sleep over, apparently though she woke up at 6am missing us, mainly 'her sister'. Planning a relaxed day as I imagine DD1 is very tired!

My doula was lovely as always, DP got a cuddle of her baby and is now very impatient for our baby to arrive, he went all gooey! She went through my birth plan with us, I needed to clarify my wording in a couple of places and we had a good talk about what we'll do if I do go very fast. I feel a lot better about the possibility now, I am having reoccurring dreams that DD3 decides to arrive very fast, all is fine but I have to bung the DDs in front of a DVD at one end of the living room while I give birth at the other, clearly I need a plan in place to stop me worrying about it!

mopsytop · 03/11/2011 08:12

Morning everyone! Apart from having to get up to pee about 6 times, slept better last night than I have done in a while - phew! Was beginning to feel a bit like a zombie. I love the way everyone says, sleep now while you can. Ha. I wish.

bennybenbear · 03/11/2011 08:46

Morning ladies,

A decent night's sleep has evaded me for at least the last 6/7 months so if this is my body 'getting me prepared' for when baby comes, I think I get it now thank you!

I had a midwife appt yesterday and she couldn't determine baby's position Confused so may be breech. She said i'll get a scan at 37 weeks to check then they do an ECV and if that doesn't work book a date for a c section :( Has anyone else had this? Or got any tips to get the little monkey in the right position over the next week or so?

Thanks!

mopsytop · 03/11/2011 08:50

benny I think kneeling leaning on a birthing ball is good and just sitting on one is good too. Also being active as much as possible and trying not to lounge on sofa too much with feet up. Not sure about what else you can do, I am sure the others on here will have some good suggestions!

Mmmmcheese · 03/11/2011 08:54

Thanks everyone, relieved I'm not the only one to be getting those pains. This is the problem if you've already had a premature labour as you get paranoid about everything!

benny I don't have any helpful advice but msbuggy is the expert here on getting babies to get in the right position!

figgygal · 03/11/2011 09:31

I'm finally succumbing to hip pain rib pain (spent last night wandering round the house incapable of getting comfy) and shortness of breath at least I'm 35 weeks tomorrow and haven't suffered months of discomfort like some.

Also no experience of breech babies but I have heard about gym ball use too sure someone can advise.

LittleMissFlustered · 03/11/2011 09:37

Sit on ball, tilt and swirl!

Trying for a better day today. Off to spend my clubcard vouchers. Am ignoring the voice in my head that's shouting "run away":)

Have a good day all:)

HoneyLovesCake · 03/11/2011 10:17

No news from Oi? I'm in a foul mood this morning due to my rib-kicker giving me a rude awakening...OUCH & BH giving me backache the second I got out of bed!! Also, feeling soooo dehydrated now I'm back on 3 iron tablets a day...I have no idea why but I don not get constipated on iron; exactly the opposite (TMI Blush sorry) Need some nice new baby news :)

figgy try ebay for your old trainers; search worldwide & if they're not on there save the search so that you get an email update if someone puts a pair on. DP insists on only wearing jeans that haven't been made in a decade so I'm used to hunting for things & I swear everything appears on ebay eventually.

msbuggywinkle · 03/11/2011 10:43

benny for breech babies (works to get babies to LOA whatever position they are in too though) the inversion is the most effective thing you can do at home. You can also do lots of tailor pose (yoga, just google!) and cat-cow (yoga again!)

The inversion...kneel of the edge of your sofa, put a cushion on the floor. Then lower your head and elbows to the floor so you are upside down with your bum in the air. Stay there for as long as you're comfortable. Inversions are most effective when done a few times a day (frequency seems to be more important than duration) and when baby is active.

In general, when you are sitting down, your bump needs to be a hammock for the baby, so your knees lower than your hips and your body tilted forward slightly. It is easiest on a birth ball, or on a dining chair sitting backwards.

HoneyLovesCake · 03/11/2011 10:50

msbuggy I'm trying to finalise my birth plan & I know you're planning a homebirth too...do you have any recommendations of sites with example birth plans...I don't want to miss anything. Also, do you write an "in case of transfer to hospital" birth plan too or do you just stay positive? :) I'm at 1.5 pages (in bullet point style) & I don't want it to be long for them to bother reading.

msbuggywinkle · 03/11/2011 11:05

honey www.homebirth.org.uk has a great, but long sample birth plan. I've used it for my bullet points, picking out what is most important to me.

I do have a very basic in case of transfer plan, it mainly says how important skin to skin and breast feeding are to me (I'd probably only transfer in if it became apparent that a c sec was going to be needed) and that I would want this during stitching. It also asks them to read the home birth bit so they get an idea of what else is important to me.

HoneyLovesCake · 03/11/2011 11:14

Thanks msbuggy I've written an "emergencies" bit but I don't know how I feel about including it...seems to go against focussing on a positive birth experience Hmm

msbuggywinkle · 03/11/2011 11:36

It does feel odd, but I know I feel that there are some things that I really need the hospital to know that DP might forget to mention if there was an emergency situation. I think for me, having the emergency bit makes me less worried about it happening as the hospital would still know how important bfing and skin to skin are to me, it kind of frees my mind up from worrying about them giving formula while I recover etc.
