Sorry for the new thread and crap name but i needed to start one oi how are you doing good luck xxx

I have fallen off the face of MN for a week or so and have loadsss to catch up on! I have been busy doing coursework and seriously nesting!!

PGP is awful, to the point of making me cry, finally got a pyshio app, but not for another 2 weeks :( doesnt seem much point. OH continues not to even attempt a massage if i ask and rolls his eyes.

Been having really bad shooting pains that take my breath away, but seems as though baby is head down (and very low) im guessing its a nerve he is on.

Very strange and TMI... but earlier (when i went to the toilet) i could feel what felt like the head bulging on the outside, through my lady garden lol... freaked me out!!

Good luck oi !! Fingers crossed

tye glad you took the sick advice!!

Hadn't thought to add not giving formula if at hospital...adding it now. Bloody hell...2 pages...OCD has taken over Hmm

Cheeptrick · 03/11/2011 11:58

Dont forget to put "No sugar water" as well

Cheeptrick · 03/11/2011 11:58

or dummies/pasifiers if ebf.

sevensevenseven · 03/11/2011 12:02

Grr just lost my post.

Still no news from oi, I hope it's all going ok.

I've been feeling immense pelvic pressure since last night which is actually painful. I don't remember anything like this with DS. I don't know if it could be because she's already heavier than DS (4lb 9oz) or because my pelvic floor isn't as strong as its my second baby. I've got my 33 week GP appointment this afternoon so I'll ask.

bennybenbear · 03/11/2011 12:26

Thanks msbuggy and everyone else for your suggestions!

Will be upside down when I get home from work later!

LittleMissFlustered · 03/11/2011 13:02

I'd try to condense your plan onto one sheet. Community midwives might be fabulous, but most I've met dread being presented with a book sized birth plan. You're better concentrating on the absolute deal-breaker issues than trying to project manage the entire birth:)

HoneyLovesCake · 03/11/2011 13:12

Everything's a dealbreaker when you're OCD controlling type A a concerned first timer Grin Thought I'd pin up bullet pointed signs around the house & write dealbreakers on my forehead in permanent marker Grin Grin

msbuggywinkle · 03/11/2011 13:46

Oh no! Just found out a friend has placenta previa. She is 36 weeks (but always goes a fortnight over at least, this is DC4) so as long as she has no bleeding they're going to re-scan in the hope it moves in the next month. She has had three home births so far, I feel pants for her she has such rough pregnancies and could really do without this.

AwomancalledHorse · 03/11/2011 14:00

Might be a stupid first timer question; Doesn't the MW go through/help you write the birthing plan?

All I want mine to say is; Homebirth with gas & air, vit k for baby, placenta speedy-uppy jab yes please, hosptial birth at a push (no pun intended!), drugs/intervention a last resort.
Does it really have to say much more than that? Shock

Hope Oi is ok (hoping posting about her will lead to an update).

msbuggy, sorry for your friend, fingers crossed it sorts itself out and she's not feeling too pants about it.

msbuggywinkle · 03/11/2011 14:05

AWCH, erm, sometimes! I think it depends on the midwife really.

My birth plan says things like, I don't want to be coached in how to push, that DP will be catching the baby (he caught DD2) and no internals (due to ishoos from DD1's birth). Basically, I want the midwives to stay in the background, we shut them in the kitchen with tea and biscuits for DD2's birth, plan to do the same again.

AwomancalledHorse · 03/11/2011 14:13

I'll mention it tomorrow, I just assumed as it was babyrelated the MW would want to input!
msbuggy, was it DP's idea to be baby catcher (did he cut the cord too?), did he find the whole experience really emotional/interesting/unforgettable?

HoneyLovesCake · 03/11/2011 14:19

AWCH my MW is coming round tomorrow to go through it but as my 20 min A/N appts tend to take an hour once we get talking I think it's better I do have it ready before she gets here.

Also, if you're a bit more alternative I think you need to write more as they automatically revert to what they're used to if you don't ask for something different...like msbuggy I don't want to be coached, want the MW's to stay in the background, no internals also no injections, offers of drugs & lots more too. Because I'm Hypnobirthing & DP is very non-confrontational I think it's easier to be straight forward & ask for my "wish list" in my birth plan but I guess it's different if you're happy to discuss these things during the birth.

Sorry about your friend msbuggy that sucks, is it complete placenta previa or just touching? Crossing my fingers for her.

lalababy · 03/11/2011 15:27

benny If you cant spend too much time upside down... being on hands and knees helps too!

Tyel I reckon your cousin from Conga will be your baby's aunt! Your first cousin make it baby's aunt... your baby and your cousin from Conga's baby will be second cousins :)

Wonder what is happening with Oi

msbuggywinkle · 03/11/2011 15:32

AWCH yes, he had seen a few birth videos where the Dad caught the baby (we watch birth vids with the older ones to prepare them) and liked the idea of doing it. He loved it, is really proud of himself and I loved the whole idea of him catching our baby, midwife in the background telling him what to do next. He didn't cry, he was concentrating too hard!

honey it is covering half her cervix, but we do know two women who had complete pp at 30 odd weeks whose placentas moved enough by 40 weeks. So she's hopeful, wish there was something I could actually do though!

AwomancalledHorse · 03/11/2011 15:38

Awww msbuggy, that sounds amazing! DH recoils in horror when I ask if he'd like to be anywhere near the business end :(

Honey..ooooh ok! You had me a bit flustered at the prospect of writing loads! Looking forward to reading your birthing story (in a non-weird way!), although hynpobirthing isn't for me, it sounds really interesting!

OiMissus · 03/11/2011 15:50

Hi ladies, I'm still in hospital, and the baby is still inside. I spent a second night on the delivery suite having contractions, but my waters haven't broken. My cervix is soft - but may continue to be softfor a while yet. Am on a drip - because I'm not eating enough. Will be here for another night. The drip seems to have stopped the contractions. But everytime I say that, they start again. Not good. Haven't the energy to read the thread, so please excuse my ignorance. Hope everyone is fine. Xxx

msbuggywinkle · 03/11/2011 15:59

Good to hear from you oi hope you feel like eating more soon. It must be weird being in limbo with wether the baby is going to come now or not, I hope s/he makes up their mind quickly!

HoneyLovesCake · 03/11/2011 16:08

Good luck Oi. I feel bad for you as it sounds a bit miserable being neither here nor there hope contractions either stop completely or get going (depending on which you's prefer Wink)

msbuggy at least it's not complete pp...hopefully her uterus will have a growth spurt & pull the placenta clear :) I was so relieved when my placenta moved up.

AWCH DP & I have joked that my birth plan will be a pretty funny read if I end up panicking & insisting he takes me to hospital for an epidural Blush... "I will focus inwards in a deep meditative state, breathing my baby down in sync with my surges, keeping my body relaxed and limp"...but my Hypno teacher said it was important to be positive & MW's need to know not to bother me.

hawthers · 03/11/2011 16:09

Hey oi hope you are bearing up ok. Will be thinking of you and hope everything goes ok.

hawthers · 03/11/2011 16:09

kri5ty · 03/11/2011 16:18

big hugs oi xxxx

bec if you cant handle upside down for too long sit on a birth ball, or on a chair back to front (like msbuggy said). It makes your stomach in to a kind of inverted "c" shape. Sit like this, rather than on a sofa so youre not tempted to slump x

kri5ty · 03/11/2011 16:20

GRUMBLE ALERT: 2 hours sleep last night, OH off today but has gone out with his friend drinking, wont be back until around 11... which means due to my sleep problems i will have no sleep again tonight and have to get up early tomorrow and spend all day cleaning :(

Hormones i think, as that seems very trivial now i have typed it! lol

AwomancalledHorse · 03/11/2011 16:36

Oi, hope you're being well looked after & get some decent rest and that LO makes its mind up one way or another soon. xx

kri5ty, doesn't sound trivial! Have you got something relaxing planned for this evening? Dh is at work until 10, so I'm going to watch Gone with the Wind later (and see how far through it I get before I need a loo break)!

LittleMissFlustered · 03/11/2011 16:52

Today I have mostly flapped. For fellow flappers, a big phooey to the universe.

msb I hope the pp situation clears enough for your friend to have the birth she wants. I know they are traumatic enough when planning a hospital birth, it must be completely demoralising if you want to home-birth:(

Oi Good to see you're still with us, hope the drip is doing its thing. Take care of yourself, and keep testing the quality of the NHS Brew and Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit in case there's a lapse in standardsWink

I bought a chair thingie for the baby today. It's adjustable so lies flat which appealed to me. Thanks to clubcard it was 'free' too, which appealed even more:o

I'm aiming for a positive night tonight. Have had two days of paranoia and mini panic attacks and feel dreadful, so I'm digging out the sanctuary bath gloop and having a relaxing soak to try to unwind a little. After the animals children have been fed and put to bed of course. Nothing relaxing about a bath with an intermittent audience >_

mopsytop · 03/11/2011 16:57

Oh dear Oi what a pain. Hope it soon sorts itself out one way or the other ... good luck, thinking of you!
