Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
woowa · 19/11/2011 21:12

yep, definietly 3rd trimester. DH is away on a training weekend, I am finding it really hard to get comfy at night and waking in the morning i am very stiff and pelvis worse each day. Need to chat to MW about it soon i think. So I had DD all day alone - which is what most people in the world have to deal with, but it has been a VERY long, very painful day. Poor little thing got snapped at too much by mummy, i kept reducing her to tears which makes me feel TERRIBLE. Can't wait for monday, sunday is our most manic day, non-stop from morning to 10pm, but this is the last sunday for me where i need to do much, then i'm on maternity leave from helping with youth group and i can relax a bit!! CAN'T WAIT!!

SOrry everyone is feeling so pants, it does get better when baby actually arrives, obviously it's exhausting, but i think being pregnant is REALLY HARD WORK!!

Right, got to get back to work for a while, one last push and I'm done!

PS - what's happened to innocentredhead? Is she on the facebook group? Is she ok?

CoffeeOne · 19/11/2011 21:12

Louby you're having a boy?! I must have missed that! Congratulations :) welcome to the team Grin

mummymccar · 19/11/2011 21:15

woowa - Innocentredhead is Martha on fb. She just moved and I think is having problems with getting online.

louby86 · 19/11/2011 21:16

Yeah coffee was on team pink until yesterday when we clearly saw little boy bits on the scan! Had a massive shopping trip today exchanging everything!

woowa · 19/11/2011 21:22

thanks mummymcar - i had been a bit concerned!! I'm not on FB, will look forward to her return here. Funny how scans can get it so wrong louby!

mummymccar · 19/11/2011 21:45

No problem woowa, it's always very scary when a poster disappears.

Gooseysgirl · 20/11/2011 13:25

Hi all, had my 25 wk MW appointment on Friday and all was well :) Baby had good strong heartrate and measured at 26cm which is about what she should be. However the back agony continues... counting down the days, hours, minutes, seconds until next physio session on Tues morning. Just wondering how any of you mums with back problems in previous pregnancies coped during labour? Was planning on having epidural anyway, but just in case I don't make it in time to hospital for epi would love to know did the back pain make labour more difficult??
PamB hope you are feeling a lot better today, what a trauma!!! A friend of mine had to have the steroid injections for her baby too at 24 wks as she is high risk for premature delivery after her first baby arrived unexpectedly at 33 weeks. It seems to be fairly standard precautionary procedure after 24 weeks if there is a chance of an early arrival so I wouldn't worry about it too much...
Louby that's interesting that you have had to switch to team blue!!! We are team pink but I've still not really bought anything pink just in case... we're having a 3d scan done in a few weeks and hoping to confirm the gender for certain at that provided our LO cooperates :)

babycarmen · 20/11/2011 13:27

louby did your hospital think it was a girl before you got your 4d scan? Or did you just think it was a girl? Congrats! Must have been such a shock, imagine if you never got that scan :O My girl better come out a girl or im in trouble! Were going to have to move house never mind replace all the pink stuff :/ Im sure shes a girl though :)

Im feeling a lot better today, i would go into personals but im STARVING so off to stuff my face and il catch up later :)

Xavielli · 20/11/2011 14:24

GRRRR!! If I can spot 1 live head louse and (after 2 hours of combing) 3 eggs on my DD why can't the bloody parents of the poor kid who keeps passing them to her!! Sorry, rant over!!

phlossie · 20/11/2011 14:41

Ugh, I'm not looking forward to head lice - we've stayed clear so far. I think boys are better at not passing them around because they huddle less.

woowa - you're not the only one feeling guilty about being off with your dcs. I feel like a bad mummy at the moment, I'm snappy and I can't be bothered to play/read with them at the moment. They're so lovely and good at entertaining themselves/each other, but they're pretty boisterous and seem to knock my bump or boobs quite a lot. Last night I was having a nice bath to myself, and they came and got in with me. DD sat on my boob, and DS managed to all but stick his toe up my bum! And they had all their hard, plastic animals in the bath, so I got out!

I'm knackered. Was in the queue in co-op behind a lady buying Capitain Morgan's dark rum, and I was having a dark rum and ginger beer fantasy.

QueenFee · 20/11/2011 15:21

Xavelli its so frustrating. Mine got them after a couple of days back in school after the hols makes me mad. Have you got a nittygritty comb they are so much better!
Phlossie rum and ginger beer sounds good! My kids keep taking over my bath too 5 in 1 bath does not work even though I have a big corner bath :/
I have booked to have a photographer friend do my bump pictures so excited :) seeing as it's the last time!

Xavielli · 20/11/2011 15:51

Yes we have our beloved nitty gritty! Since the last infestation (just before the summer hols) I use it once a week on myself and dd, if there is lice/nits in there it will wheek them out. As there were so few I'm hoping a shampoo, condition (with another quick comb) and blow dry before bed will be the end of it. Back to checking every 4 days for a while and telling DDs teacher so they can issue 'the letter'. Will invest in some more tea tree (I may be part head louse myself, I hate the smell of it!)

It's not really a big deal, most kids end up with them at some point. It's the shear bloody laziness of the parents that bothers me.

Going to cheer myself up with a big fat roast dinner.

hermionejgranger · 20/11/2011 17:03

PamB - good grief - what a scare! Hope you're feeling much better now. FWIW and for anyone who's worried about the flu jab I had mine and the only after effect I had was a bit of an achy arm for a day afterwards.

BabyC - don't worry about the "moaning" - I think it helps especially if you're having a tough time. Hope you feel a bit more cheerful soon. My DH has been advised that "jokes" about hormones will a) go down like a fart in a lift and b) result in damage to his man-parts.

phlossie thanks for the tip on the belly bra thing. might look into that!

I think that Bert has had a change of heart. He has been doing a lot less of the riverdancing over the last couple of days and a lot more tai chi. Little pushing out on one side, then another little pushing out on the other side :) I don't think I should be worried about the change in movement, should I? He's still wiggle-jiggling from time to time.

Been to buy nursery curtains/bedding/lampshade/paint etc today. Finally found some that were acceptably gender-neutral and not unbelievably expensive in babies r us - and also got chatting to another expectant mummy in there who was looking as confused about the bottle sterilisers as I was about pretty much everything else! Does it make me a bad mother that I've bought a dummy "just in case"?

and also - i can barely be bothered with looking after myself at the moment - let alone anyone else!

:o

Hi gang. Spent a lovely afternoon in A&E. DH ended up ringing emergency midwife last night Cos I've had crippling stomach pains that have got worse n worse. They said get her some gaviscon itl just b indigestion. Dh went tesco to get some. My god it's horrible stuff and it'd work for about an hr but made me so green n sicky n then I'd b in agony again. More of the same today so a trip to A&E. They think it's a water infection. 2 week course of antibiotics and got to go for a scan 2 mrw to make sure pips ok. Glad I've had some kinda diagnosis just wish I could have something for the pain! Can't believe I've put up with it for a week! And hopefully 2mrw I'll know what team I'm on too

QueenFee · 20/11/2011 17:51

:( hope your ok now mellie. Enjoy your scan.
I have a midwife appointment tomorrow 1st one since 16wks looking forward to hearing its heartbeat again

Hermoine my 1st two had dummies my 3rd hated them. As for bottle sterilisers as I only used bottles occasionally as bfing I used a vegetable steamer to sterilise the bottle and pump. One less thing to clutter up the house! So if a dummy in case makes you a bad mother i'm one 3 times over! Have to say its been nice not having to wean him off it this time round.

babycarmen · 20/11/2011 17:52

mellie glad theyre doing something about it! Hopefully the antibiotics will work.

Ahh im not looking forward to head lice! DD has really long hair so it will be a nightmare.

I was also a bad mummy yesterday, shouted at DD and made her cry which then resulted in me crying for about an hour! Was horrible :( I still feel bad today about it.
Had a crying fit today too because i was trying to clean the entire house and DP sat on his xbox for hours so i cried until he changed the bed for me... Grin My bad.

Forgot to say, i got the appointment for my Ultrasound, its next Tuesday, im not allowed to eat from midnight the night before my appt which is at 11am. I am going to be SO GRUMPY without food and probably faint. Sulk....

littlemonkeybix · 20/11/2011 18:50

God grief... what's going on with sickness and pain !?!?

Hope we are all on the mend

not much to report except FINALLY started to clear our room. It's a start anyway. Plus I think I may have decided on a prsm. the silver cross 3D. Just need DP to check it out too

Right, tea time... and ep2 of the killing on replay!!!!!! I miss Meyer though... Love Sarah Lund!!!

littlemonkeybix · 20/11/2011 18:51

Sorry.... typo city!!!

hermionejgranger · 20/11/2011 19:10

thanks phlossie - it's nice to hear people telling you that what you've thought about is fine! (that didn't sound quite right but i hope ykwim!)

mellie hope you get sorted soon :( sorry you've been feeling rubbish.

oooooh DH has just brought me cheese on toast :o yummeeeeee!

phlossie · 20/11/2011 20:12

RIP Meyer. I LOVE the Killing, but don't tell me what happened because we're yet to watch it!

Bad backs + belly bra = amazing. I got mine from Mothercare (should I say that name?!) It's seriously the best buy. Gooseygirl - I totally recommend it.

Oops. Just made DH get me some chocolate ice-cream because I haven't heard the baby kick for ages, but it just started as he left the room! Oh well, I'll eat it anyway!

28 weeks today!

phlossie · 20/11/2011 20:12

Heard the baby kick? I am losing it!

Xavielli · 20/11/2011 20:19

Hehe phlossie! You are clearly just as accustomed as me to hearing your kids before you see/feel them!

Mellie - sorry you are poorly too. Hope all is well and you enjoy your scan (which I am rather jealous of!)

babycarmen · 20/11/2011 20:23

Ooh i got one of those 'belly-bra' thingys from Mothercare too, they are very good! :)
