Old thread is here, as you were ladies Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
PamBeesly · 14/11/2011 11:59

Xavelli! here is another Biscuit Grin haha

I've seen:

GP to confirm at 4 weeks
Consultant & MW at 12 weeks
GP at 15 weeks (pregnancy itch related not routine)
GP at 18 weeks
Consultant at 22 weeks
GP at 26 weeks (that will be this Friday)

In Ireland we have combined care where you alternate between seeing consultant(and maybe a midwife) and your GP (GP just does the routine check,s BP, weight, urine checks)
I am yet to have my GTT I tink I have to have it soon though.

I got loads for baby yesterday including his buggy, it was on offer in Argos (I would never have though of Argos excpet I was in there and saw it) I got the Graco Oasis Travel System for ?179.
We also picked the bumper for his cot (which we had already) and we got lots of bed clothes for him and muslins.

Squiglettsmummy2bx · 14/11/2011 12:08

Hungry here too, like all the time again! Trying to control it so I'm not rolling around by next month but what can we do hey?

Squiglettsmummy2bx · 14/11/2011 12:09

Pam, bet your happy you got your buggy. Are you keeping it at your house? Mine is being delivered to my mums on Friday & she won't let me have it here!!! (Angrystamping feet like spoilt brat)

PamBeesly · 14/11/2011 12:23

Squiglett mine is in the kitchen in the box, I won't be putting it together until January. I heard it was unlucky, like temptng fate to bring your baby things early but I try not to believe it! Leave yours at your mams (it won't be hogging up your house then :) )

deardear · 14/11/2011 13:24

Hi fellow bumpies.

I am really tired today. doesnt help that the heating is on full blast at work! not good. going to go home at 2pm and have a power nap.

how can you tell if your baby is transverse? i am getting lots of kicks either side but nothing really down below and baby is really high up - very squidgy below my belly button but hard around and above it? have been googling but not a lot of good info and virtually no pics!

i was seen by MW at 11 weeks for booking in, 13 for scan, 16 MW for bloods, 20 weeks for scan 22 for my MATB1 and then seeing her again next week for another appt when i think i will be 27 weeks by my dates. then have another scan booked for 36 weeks. we can virtually drop in when we want which is good but usually see someone every 4 weeks. i am classed as higher risk due to under active thyroid and my age and the fact i measured so small with DD2

littlemonkeybix · 14/11/2011 16:24

deardear My bump changes at certain times of the day (probably a freak!! HA!)

In the morning, the bottom is hard, and "full of baby", top all squishy. By about 2pm it's all up top like a shelf! And the bottom part back to squishydom! I don't know whether pip likes listening to my tummy digesting lunch Confused but that's how it's been for a good few weeks!

I get kicks down below all morning... then out of the sides near my ribs later on. I hope I am carrying a ton of fluid, cos I'm massive already, and this amount of movement is suggesting to me that I have created a luxury swimming pool for pip!!

Hope we're all well today. I am in the main, but have a headache at the back of my head... like a tension headache. I think I need to go home... work is DULL! Plus, I still haven't got my exam results!! hmmmm... hurry up will you!

Oh and to make me feel grumpy, I have just booked a dentist appointment. The tooth that I snapped on bacon crisps back in August, it's tender around the gum, and it bleeds when I brush.... so going for a check up Sad

On a nice front, it's mine and DP's engagiversary today... got my ring on on this day in 2008 Grin Going to Waitrose to pick a yummy tea. I'm feeling gravyish... maybe something with mash?! It will definitely involve cake!

Squiglettsmummy2bx · 14/11/2011 16:50

Appointment was so quick today after my not being able to wee drama, lol Blush
Saw registrar rather than consultant which made it quicker. I have my gtt next Wednesday as my dad is diabetic & I am fat however I have no symptoms, no sugar in my urine & I didn't get it in my last 2 pregnancies but he almost took it as a given that I have it. He asked when my next scan is & I said I don't have 1 so he was gonna leave it but I said no I want 1 now you have mentioned it Grin so an extra glimpse of my baby boy Grin
9th of January is my next consultant appointment & that's when I get my elcs date GrinGrinGrin

littlemonkeybix · 14/11/2011 17:17

I had my 1st GTT at 20 weeks... and my second is December. I was told 1st one because my mum, here mum, her mum etc are/were diabetic so I'm a risk.. and the 2nd one is because I'm a chunk Grin

I was fully expecting to get diagnosed... but all was fine for test 1.... gave me a good shot of hope!

Squiglettsmummy2bx · 14/11/2011 18:17

Glad your 1st test was fine, fingers crossed for the next 1. Everyone is so sure I have a monster baby but I know he is just average & my belly is food Blush pregnancy is the only time I eat without guilt & I'll be straight back to WW after baby us here so let me eat cake! Grin my friend is having her elcs date pushed back & back as her baby is 4lb at 36 weeks & they are worried she will still be under 5lb at 38 weeks, a problem I won't have thankfully Smile Both my dc weighed 8lb 9oz so I wonder if I can score a hat trick Wink

phlossie · 14/11/2011 18:26

Do you know, about half people I know have GTT tests. I had one with my first because they decided I was big for dates. Though they'd never given me a dating scan, and I had been on the Pill for 9 years - I kept saying 'maybe my dates aren't right?' But nobody listened. Then I was induced at 40+9 (by dates) and he was born looking like a very over-cooked old man. They then said that he looked more like 14-15 days over. Duh. And considering both pregnancies since I've been moved forward 5 and 7 days and I now know I have a particularly short cycle, I think I was right and they were wrong!

Mine were 8 4.5 and 8 5.5 so I wonder if this one will be 8 6.5?!

Xavielli · 14/11/2011 19:21

I've never had a GTT, but I tend to carry small and have never had glucose in my piddle.

Still havent had that WHAM You're going to have another child - feeling yet. Hope it happens soon otherwise I'm worried I won't get everything ready in time!

babycarmen · 14/11/2011 19:35

Ive never had a GTT but DD measured small and they havent said anything this time.

Today was a hormonal disaster. I usually get the earlier bus to pick up DD from nursery so im not rushing but i thought id give my self an extra 20 minutes with my feet up and get the next one which is supposed to get me there 5 minutes early. But today it was 10 minutes late so i was late picking DD up, pretty much ran up the hill when i got off the bus, grabbed her and ran outside and burst into tears :( I felt so bad even though i was only 5 mins late she was the only one there and i was sore and tired and hormonal. Poor DD didnt know what was going on :( My mums taking her for 2 nights tomorrow so il get a bit of a break and a rest.

Phoned up for my blood tests and apparently some of them were back but not all of them so i have to phone back tomorrow.. and apparently they cant tell me what the ones that have came back say until theyre all back Hmm

Im dreading labour this time, i had an easy quick labour with DD who was 6lb2 so this one can only get worse, longer and baby can surely only be bigger..but i still cant wait! Grin

12 weeks to go - 28 weeks today!

EsmeWeatherwax · 14/11/2011 19:41

Deardear I can always tell when bubs is lying transverse because it is the single most uncomfortable experience ever, feels like he's just going to explode out my sides! Plus kicks at one side and punches at the other. Violent child!

Had my 28/29 week appointment today, am measuring 33 weeks so have been booked in for a GTT on Thursday, lol, I have the anti-D and bloods clinic tomorrow too, so will be a complete pincushion by the end of the week! Am not too worried about the GTT, have a family history of diabetes (my dad) plus am overweight, but was ok through two prev. pregnancies. I just carry really big! Looking extremely whale like today, can barely move I'm so breathless. Think I've got a big heid stuck under my ribs! Midwife was going to recommend another scan but she changed her mind since I'm having one in three weeks at 32 weeks anyway. Where has the time gone!

hippysair · 14/11/2011 19:55

Marking my place, 12 wks to go!

Squiglettsmummy2bx · 14/11/2011 20:29

Got to vent on here because I am swaying between Sad & Angry
My exes mum has issues with me, she does drugs & is a nasty piece of work as is most/all of his family. Since meeting me ex has seen a new side to life & is trying hard to better himself & after his mum bawling me out in the street & threatening me he has cut her off completely which has really annoyed her so she has been spreading rumours about me & slagging me off whenever she can. My so called best friend lives on her road & saw her last week & she launched into a rant which friend repeated to me. I got upset & had a go at ex but he pointed out that if she didnt listen his mum wouldnt have anyone to rant to. I agreed & said to friend maybe it's better if she just told her she wasn't interested. Friend has ignored me since then today pits on her fb status that there are scum on her street, she doesn't want to hear about them & their in laws etc so exes mum has obviously been at it again but she knows I will be upset to hear that so why the fuck can't she leave it? & yes this is the same friend that made the csection comments. I need to delete her from fb & ignore her at school don't I? But I am her daughters god mother & our sons are good friends in the same class. Why does she have to be so bloody horrible Sad

Kayano · 14/11/2011 20:48

Bit off topic but I love the idle chat Grin

What have you ladies been doing to relax and chill out? I have got my hypnotherapy podcasts for when I am getting stressed and upset about needles...

And DH has been running me nightly bubble baths which make my legs and joints feel better, and I listen to birdy a lot at the minute lol

Squiglettsmummy2bx · 14/11/2011 20:56

Ohhhh Kayano I love a nice bubbly bath & I've been soaking my feet & giving myself pedicures & some pampering.
I love losing myself in a book too Smile

hermionejgranger · 14/11/2011 22:17

Hello everyone - just popping in and out again - have been without internet for a couple of days for some reason and have just come on here to find 4 pages of chat! Hope everyone is feeling well and happy - I know that some have had a bit of a shitty couple of days from what I have read so I'm sending some happy vibes to everyone!

woowa · 14/11/2011 22:27

hi all, can't type much as lying in bed, just checking in, parents here, great for getting things dobne for baby coming!! Bab sized nappies arrivedwith them, plus moses basket!! I eat chocolate to relax!!

28+6 xxx

babycarmen · 14/11/2011 22:47

Im in bed with a full belly after having 2 helpings of chicken casserole I made for dinner Blush and I have just finished scrubbing the kitchen and trying to relax but my feet and hands are boiling hot. I hate having hot feet!! Baby is kicking like mad so I'm not going to sleep anytime soon!

I love having hot baths to relax but these days I always end up falling asleep :/ which is not like me! I'm usually petrified of closing my eyes incase I drown (yes, I know..) But I actually dozed off last time I had a bath and suddenly jerked awake mid-dream!

I seem to be hungry all the time just now too..

deardear · 15/11/2011 09:31

i would love a peaceful bath lol. got in last night and DD2 arrived in the bathroom closely followed by DD1 so we sat chatting for ten minutes - was nice really but i cant even have a pee without either a child or dog coming in on me lol. DD's are 14 and 11 so not toddler talk!

i am into Freddo's atm for chocolate. veeery nice. have one at the pub everytime i work. still cant eat many chips as they make me feel ill.

hormones are going mad atm as well and starting to feel tired and weepy. just been told DD2 has won at least 1 trophy at pony club and its the dinner dance on saturday so cant wait now. one of her christmas pressies has come as well - some new cross country colours in black with fuschia pink stars. DD2 is having a kindle and looking at getting her a superdry coat as well i think. seem to be quite organised this year for some reason. mum and dad have invited us there for chrimbo dinner. be the first time in about 5 years as me and dad dont get on very well.

right time to get ready for work. going to turn the heating down when i get there as got far too hot yesterday and it made me feel a bit ill. meeting a friend afterwards who is going to hand over her baby clothes :)

melliebobs · 15/11/2011 09:47

kayano what I'd give for a bath! Crazy lady who we bought our house off 2 year ago had a brand new bathroom fitted. Lovely walk in shower but no bloody bath! You should have seen me on Saturday trying to shave my legs n exfoliate in it on Saturday before going to a wedding. It's a friggen logistical nightmare!!!

Pip was having a bonkers day yesterday. 6 hours of non stop movement n I don't know what I've done to anger it but it felt bloomin violent! It's started to give me bad gut ache Sad hope it has a quiet day today

phlossie · 15/11/2011 11:13

Have any of you ever been in a flotation tank? I'm going to be booking in for January and maybe before then too. You go into a small room filled with very very salty warm water and you float in pitch black and silence for an hour. It's amazing! It makes you weightless, which is lush in 3rd trimester and you can just relax and let your mind wander - or fall asleep. And you feel blissed out for hours afterwards. It's not for everyone, but I love it!

A client gave me a box of miniature heros. Yum!

CoffeeOne · 15/11/2011 11:49

Xav et al another starvin one here! I'm drinking hot chocolate at work to tide me over half an hour till lunch time!

Squiglett my mum also won't let me have our pram in the house (bought it a month ago). But as she's kindly paying for it for us, I'm not going to argue hah. Sorry about the family drama. You need to ditch that 'friend'.

monkey I have also booked a dentist appointment :( having some pains and bleeding gums, but at least it's free :)

Good luck to everyone having GTTs. Mine is in two weeks eep.

Anyone else experiencing heartburn? What can we take? I've never had heartburn in my life but after a fatty tea of fish and chips last night I couldn't sleep for this acidy feeling in my throat, does that sound about right?

26+3

EsmeWeatherwax · 15/11/2011 12:24

CoffeeOne That sounds exactly like heartburn. Gaviscon is your friend! You can take most over the counter heartburn things, but for me liquid gaviscon, glugged straight out the bottle, is the only way. It's minging but god it's good. I actually have to take medication for a stomach ulcer, which has helped a lot in this pregnancy, but I still have my trusty gaviscon bottle beside the bed for really bad nights!
