Thanks for the reassurances... I'm sure we will be fine, I am still peed off we're not further. The house completion route though!!

Anyhoooo... GOOD NEWS!!

My new duffel coat from Bon Prix arrived yest. I didn't get it from my mum's til today though... Its ace Grin looks so much better than the motherfuckercare one... Exactly what I wanted!!

YAY

coffee I also get what I call miffkicks... Unpleasant to wake me up with, but hey-ho! I was confused as to whether it was hiccups today at 1st... But it was so rythmic, after a short while, I thought it MUST be! Went on for aaaages, and during a meeting Smile

So sorry there's so much illness kicking about... Not fair!! We're supposed to be enjoying this blummin bit!! I got myself a seawater nasal spray that's supposed to be good for sinuses... We shall see! I've only ever had bad times with nasal sprays... Hmm

Right... Chippy tea time (YAY) - laters Wink

My friend who hosts baby play at her house has two high chairs, a big £150 chicco that her mum bought when her ds was born and the antilop which she bought at a carboot for £1! We all choose to stick our babies in the cheapie, easy to get them in and out of and they are perfectly comfy in it. I will definitely be getting one (or two!) when I get round to baby shopping

woowa · 11/11/2011 20:01

Evening!

By the time i've scrolled down all the posts I can never remember the personals i was going to write - how do you all do it?!

I have a stokke tripp trapp high chair - can also be pulled up to the table, and is height adjustable so they can keep using it through whole childhood. They are expensuive though, and alwyas lots on ebay. Debating getting one for number 2!

Sounds like we're divided between superorganised, and not ready at all on this thread!! It'll all be fine in the end!

Been manically tidying house (and cleaned REVOLTING fridge!!) today as parents coming on sunday. They won't care how filthy it all is, but it's good for me to have an excuse to clean up a bit!! So now, i ACHE. I also had flu jab today, really hoping not to come down with any side effects as I'm going to nottingham tomorrow for DCousins birthday party (5 hour round trip, with DD. eek)

DH watched "the tree of life" today, as research for somehting, and has ordered me to sit in bed and watch it now so we can chat about it! So, i am with popcorn and film. Night all!

I've bought something!!!! Grin After my panic this morning I've just won a moses basket and stand on Ebay for 99p! Result!

Going to get one of those Ikea highchairs as well when we go to Briz to pick it up... starting to feel more organised.

DP has been talking to someone who has said we need a sling. I had a quick look and got confused, so what's good and easy to use?

babycarmen · 11/11/2011 21:17

My word, baby is a WRIGGLER, she has her legs/arms/knees all coming out around my belly button, it feels, and looks, so weird and she just will not sit still, its cute, but not in the middle of the night.. Grin i can feel little knees and elbows and keep rubbing them. I love this part.

woowa hope youre ok with the jab - ive not had any side effects with mine yet (got it yesterday) so heres hoping!

The pain hasnt been too bad today so far, not drove me to the codeine anyway! So thats good, just hope the appointment for the ultrasound doesnt take long, i just want to know for sure what it is.

woowa · 11/11/2011 21:48

sugar someone on here (sorry!) runs a slingmeet and knows everything about slings...i used a wrap sling - so a LONG pieceof cloth you tie round you and tuck baby into, they are close to you, posturally well seated and weighted and all cosy (and some people manage to BF like it too!). There are loads of makes of wrap sling, and others which hold baby in a similar manner. Then there are the ones like baby bjorn which are very diffent in how the baby;s posture ends up etc, you'll have to ask someone who's used one how they found it! Well doneon the moses basket =- that is a massive result!!

PDog · 11/11/2011 22:18

sugar I have a wrap sling like woowa, easy to use and supports baby well. I also have a connecta solar weave for summer, which I love but was quite expensive. The moby gets good reviews but looks just like a wrap sling to me, which you can get from here www.victoriaslinglady.co.uk/online-store.php or make yourself.

Sling was a life saver in the early days as DD would only nap on me. Meant I could go to loo and make a sandwich while she slept.

babycarmen glad you are not in too much pain, hope you get your scan soon.

Another good tip for first timers - you can never have too many muslins. I used one under dd's head in the Moses basket so if she was sick I didn't have to change all the bedding. Also good for milk dribbles, poonamis, wee accidents and chucking over your shoulder when winding.

flapjack77 · 11/11/2011 22:26

We're in the haven't got anything organised yet camp...have most stuff from DS so just need to get DH to go in attic for all bits that went up there.

However, we were hoping to move house before Christmas which is why nowt is organised, now looks likely not to happen due to builders not sticking to the original plans (new build) so they've had to re submit amended planning application. Decision not due til boxing day! So pissed off with them, can do without the stress.

Anyone with 2 (or more!) DC and have 2 yr ish age gap, have you used double pram or elder DC walked/used buggy board? Really don't want to fork out for another pram...

Had 28 week MW app today, got to hear heartbeat for first time, yey! Asked me to start thinking about birth plan as will go thru that at next app. All I know is I don't want pethedine or whatever it is they give you.

sorry not been on here much, now got Internet phone so no excuses from now on.

Hi everybody, boo to all the winter bugs flying round :(

I seem to have quite a bit, however it is all still in bags dumped in the box room (nursery) alongside a load of boxes, junk & ironing I cant seem to find another home for! Eek better get a move on, we are mid decorating too, all worked around when my husband is home from overseas (which isn't very often at the moment)..

Feel totally unorganised!..Still need to choose a cot & bedroom furniture, its only a small room, so nothing too big, struggling to find a single wardrobe, cot & drawers that match!..Think im asking too much!..Not like the baby will know I suppose!

m1nn1em0u5e · 12/11/2011 10:23

Oh I forgot 29 weeks & 3 days!....aarghhh almost at the 30 mark!!

littlemonkeybix · 12/11/2011 10:38

I realised last night whilst awake for 2 hours for a stupid wee that I put monday for viable day... I have hormonally addled brain cells!

IT'S TODAY

And to celebrate, pip is kicking the shite out of my belly button!! Grin

littlemonkeybix · 12/11/2011 10:41

Scrub that... Belly button has been abandoned for miffkicks... Oof Confused

Emz33 · 12/11/2011 12:28

Starting to panic reading all your messages. We have nothing yet! Well we have lots of baby wipes (DH can't resist an offer and they were buy one get two free in tesco a few weeks ago!) and a free m&s cardigan I was given at the baby show in earls court when I bought new mat bras! Do we need to get high chairs yet? I thought I wouldn't need one of then til baby was about 6 months? Blush

m1nn1em0u5e · 12/11/2011 12:56

No high chairs needed for quite a while!..I used the bouncy chair for a little while when weaning as they tend to spit the baby rice etc out straight away until they get used to swallowing. Not until they are sitting steady do they really need a high chair :)

Squiglettsmummy2bx · 12/11/2011 14:08

I have loads & it's all washed & packed away in babys own drawers etc. I have dd birthday in December, then Xmas & I plan to hibernate in January so doing everything now. Leaving highchair until it will be needed.
A tmi question Blush When my ex & I got down to it the other day he pulled my now very swollen bits open which bloody hurt & then he got very close with his stubbly face & now I am very sore down there especially when I wee. I bought some sudocream to put on it, any other ideas?

PamBeesly · 12/11/2011 16:34

Hello lovely ladies, just a quick question from me. Has anyone any experience of SPD , I fear I might have it, otherwise I'm just overreacting. When I'm walking my inner thighs feel like they can't support my weight and my pelvis is very sore, like everything is not connected right, its almost as if I don't trust my legs to hold me up, it seems things aren't 'in place' properly down there anymore. Maybe its just 'stretching' pains again but I wouldn't have thought my leg joints had to stretch

Yah to monkey on the 24 week mark
Squigglet I'd say anything that cools it down would help, hopefully it will go down in a day or two. When you pee try dripping water over the area to take the sting out of it (I read to do this after birth too)

Squiglettsmummy2bx · 12/11/2011 16:50

Thanks pam, will go armed with a jug, lol. Trust my sex drive to go up when my bits are so swollen Blush
Not sure about SPD but sure someone else will know. I sometimes get that weird feeling like my legs can't hold me up & hobble a bit & then it goes away. Just thought it was coz I'm getting so huge Blush

louby86 · 12/11/2011 16:57

It could be SPD Pam Sad it's best if it carries on to see your GP for a diagnosis though. I went to see my GP the other week who thought it was SPD based on me telling him the pain was in my hip, leg and between my legs, and around the pubic bone area. He put me up on the couch thing and did loads of exercises with my legs and within a day or two the pain started to ease. How long have you had the pain? It could be a trapped nerve too.

PamBeesly · 12/11/2011 17:01

I've had it a while now Louby for the past 4 days or so its been really difficult to walk without wincing, I also have bad pains when turing in bed, if I get up for a pee in the night I am all hunched up, its worse towards the end of the day. I though first round ligament pain or stretching but it just doesn't seem to be easing like the other aches I'd get on and off.
I'll be back at my GP this week anyway so I'll ask her, thanks :)

Squiglett a high sex drive is never a bad thing Grin

littlemonkeybix · 12/11/2011 17:09

Aww Pam sounds similar to me Sad I've been suffering with my left inner thigh, and across my pubic area. Ok some days, really crappy others.

But it's worse today as I was at the PC and our table's not right, so I sit on our chair with splayed legs (such a hotty!!) Usually this is uber comfy for bendy me... But I struggled to get up after today's computing!!

I suffer some nights when turning, and that pain is the small of my back and both hips.

Think I'll have to speak to the MW..m I have an appointment on Weds anyway. Hmmm Hmm

Teehee at the unfortunate sexy times!! Hope you feel better soon... At least you don't get a facial grimace after orgasm!!

PamBeesly · 12/11/2011 17:21

monkey yes they are my symptoms exactly, I do hope its another 'peculiarity of pregnancy' (it seems this is the answer for everything) and not SPD I always feel so bad for people who suffer from that it sounds awful, I hope this is not the beginning of it!

Kayano · 12/11/2011 17:45

monkey your symptoms are exactly the same as mine! I did speak to mw on Tuesday who said not spd but they refer you to physio anyway to get treatment and exercises and one of those lovely belts
Lol.

I'm not glad you've got it, but I'm glad I'm not the only one! Lol it feels like someone is stabbing me in the lady bets at times. It's been really bad today. While I wait for my appointment he doc just told me to keep taking paracetemol regularly. It's so bad because you can be ok -ish one minute and in crippling agony the next, barely able to walk!

I did walk slightly strangely to compensate but then pulled a muscle in my bum cheek which also hurt! Argh!!!!

babycarmen · 12/11/2011 19:06

I have SPD this time and its not fun! I hope you dont have it. Physio really helped mine though. Walking is just about impossible when its at its worse which is why i ended up with crutches :( I hate those things!

I wonder who will have their baby first out of us all Grin I cant wait for Feb and all the announcements!!

deardear · 12/11/2011 19:58

well tody was interesting.

went to boots to get my free changing bag (when you buy a pack of pampers new baby) and spend my £1 off pampers and extra points etc etc, bought a new rug for the lounge as we have had a wood floor laid and i have been banned from having fire until rug purchased and then went to Costa for a hot chocolate - which is where it got interesting.

had a sudden urge that i needed the loo -number 2! someone in there, cue me running to table to dump (no pun intended) tray down with DD1 and ran back. lady asked me if i was ok as i had felt the colour rush from my face, lady in loo came out and i went in.

10 mins later I am still in there with a grouchy stomach and the squits, lady knocks door so i said i am coming now. stood up, went weak, sat down, sorted myself out and went out - a mahoosive queue of about 6 people tutting at me! I apologised and pointed to my fat belly and scuttled to drink hot chocolate. felt a bit better so went and had a buy up for DD1 in peacocks and came home with no food shopping as i really couldnt face it. same happened at home - thank god we have 3 loos!

have been ok all afternoon. very strange and hope its just a bit of a dicky tummy.

hope everyone is feeling better soon. i have felt like having a bit but have thrush which hasnt cleared up yet so have banned DH. oh well - have never had a really high sex drive anyhow so nice to sleep lol.

LO was playing ping the bladder as i was going to sleep last night so ended up going to the loo 4 times in about 15 minutes. not nice at all.

we have put the cotbed up today and i have glossed the skirting board in the nursery. looks fab - DD1 painted it in half term so just had a bit of touching up to do on that.

getting excited now.

PamBeesly · 12/11/2011 20:11

babycarmen you seem to be having a hard time of it :( I really hope its not SPD and this pain goes after a good rest because I'm going shopping in a different city tomorrow for bits and pieces for my baby

I was also thinking 'who will go first' and I was looking at the stats and guessing the babies will all come in their own time! Hopefully all after 37 weeks and be bonny and healthy

deardear I often have an attack like that, too bad people had to wait, you are pregnant and they can just lump it! Drink plenty of water to make up for the lost fluids.
