Forgot to say, Sophie is still in with us at the mo in her moses basket. Intending on keeping her in with us for her 1st six months and then in her own room.

Ordered her cotbed on Friday and its been dispatched. Can't wait for it to arrive Smile

Iwish · 01/01/2012 20:00

Woohoo Sophie!! Hopefully she will keep it up. Joshua gradually got better and better. He used to go to bed at like 1am then was up at 8 with a lot of feeds in between. It was a killer.
We were going to keep Joshie in for 6 months but he was getting a little big for his basket so we got a crib. He lasted 3 days in it then into his cot where he started sleeping 5 hours, then 6, then 8 and 9 hours.
Bet you can't wait to get her cot up. Will it go in your room?

liz I think it was his snotty nose as he's been less snotty today and had lots of food.

Hope mil is ok melly how's poppy?

klou hope you and Euan are ok?

I put Joshie in bed at 7:40 tonight. He must have been shattered as I gave him his dummy twice and he fell asleep all by himself. Hoping he will wake about 9ish for a feed then hope he sleeps till 5:30ish again.
He went to bed last night at 8:30 and was up at 9:15 for a feed then off to sleep till 5:35. He got up at 8:45 this morning.

lizandlulu · 01/01/2012 20:58

melly hows things on the home front?

madkatz how was last night?

iwishdoes joshua go to bed on a full tummy?

i put violet to bed last night at 5.45. she had less than an hour all day, if i am out and about she used to just sleep whenever she wanted. now as soon as i get where im going shes awake. i only went to grantham yest, she slept 15 mins on the way there and about 15 mins on the way back. then was mardy and ratty all afternoon, but was too late to put her in her to to sleep, so i made her last out till 5.45.
she woke at 9pm and i tohught she wasnt going to go back to sleep, but i gave her 10 mins to settle herself and she did. then briefly woke at 6 when i thought she would be awake for the day, but back to sleep till 8.15!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE

Iwish · 01/01/2012 21:23

Well he went down tonight at 7:40 without a feed and woke at 8:25 for a feed. If I feed him at 7:30 he will wake at 4am and only sleep till 7:30 then so will be v tired and whingy.
I can't believe how well violet sleeps! Was lulu the same?

lizandlulu · 01/01/2012 21:32

no!! lulu was a terrible sleeper, she didnt sleep ALL night till we moved to this house 18 months ago when she was 4 and a half! i stopped giving her a bottle in the night at about 2! but she still woke and used to creep into our bed when we put her into her own bed. she just needed the habit knocking out f her and moving did tht, thank god! this is why i am so suprised violet sleeps like she does.
lulu woke in the night 2-3 times for months and months, i was permanantly tired for the first couple of years, but couldnt really do anything about it cause we lived with my mum and dad and couldnt leave her to cry at night as i didnt think it would be fair on them, looking back i should have said 'look, there is going to be a couple of unsettled nights but hopefully she will get sleeping through soon' and tried to sort it out sooner, but i didnt and just let her come into our bed. big mistake!!

lizandlulu · 01/01/2012 21:51

i am thinking of getting a small light weight pushchair to use for the school run as i am going to be putting her into a forward facing seat this week and wont be able to just put the car seat straight onto the frame like i do at the mo, so will have to put the seat unit onto the frame, then put her in. if i got a stroller it would be easier. have found this one, am very very tempted. i always had maclarens with lulu, but this one is soo pretty!!! www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplayA_37_10751_-1_14552_122470_10001_14051

KLou111 · 01/01/2012 22:52

Happy new year all!!!!
Had a faaaaabulous night. Hard being away from our little man, but he slept normal at mum and dads, bed at 6.45, through to 6, chuntered for a minute, off til 7.45. They said they kept checking on him as he was so quiet!! Obviously didn't miss us then! Missed him soooo much!!

melly your fil sounds like a right idiot!!

Woohoo Sophie!! Clever girl, start the year as she means to go on hopefully!

Liz another pushchair?? Lol.

Saw friends baby today who is a week younger than Euan (the copycat couple) god she's tiny compared to him!! I really think she must just sit on her lap or chair all day as she's not really holding her own head yet, they still support her head when they pick her up. Rob got such a look when he picked her up! She's not going to break!! She's not even 'allowed' in her jumperoo yet. Not quite ready for it I think were the words!!
Think they were a bit gobsmacked at what Euan was doing ie he was standing, jumping, flying Wink, giggling, sitting on the sofa etc, all stuff we think is normal. Oh he started sitting yesterday too!!!! Sits really well, still rolls over so can't leave him too long, but he can sit playing with his toys, so proud :)

Hoping she wont outgrow her Moses basket before 6 months as ideally would like her cot to go straight in her room, but there is room in ours if needs be.

She doesn't wake with our noise or us with hers so it's suiting us having her in with us. It's also quite cold in her nursery so we're still trying to sort the heating out in there.

Last night was 10.30-3.15 and then 4.40-7.50 Grin

lizandlulu · 02/01/2012 19:45

well, how cani put it....hmm..... the baby fell off the sofa! she has started rolling over and being alot more mobile andi was changing her, keeping my leg next to her ot stop her rolling off, when she pushed her bum up, across my leg and rolled down my leg headfirst to hte floor!! she cried but not as much as i thought she would, and was soon back to normal, so not worried or anything, theink ti was more the shock as she did land moslty on my foot.
hope she doesnt wake with a blck eye in the morning

KLou111 · 02/01/2012 22:08

Omg Liz!!!! Hope she's ok. Poor little thing :(

madkatz sophies sleeping is fab! Friends have a tiny baby, 19 weeks and just out of her basket as she's too long. If Euan had stayed in his, it would've lasted 8 weeks I reckon lol!

KLou111 · 02/01/2012 22:09

Oh, we put an electric heater in the nursery. Our heating is done off our fire so cools overnight.

OP posts:
MadKatz · 02/01/2012 22:22

Think we will end up with an electric heater too Klou

lizandlulu · 03/01/2012 09:32

when we lived with mum and dad, their house is aincient and massive, so freezing, i used one of those oil filled radiators, used to give off quite abit of heat. plus, vest, sleepsuit, cardi and fleecy sleepsuit!

well no lasting damage from her fall. slept as normal and no marks on her

Iwish · 03/01/2012 20:59

Awww poor violet liz. At least she Is ok tho. Babies bounce I've been told lol.

Well Joshua must be going through some sort of growth/developmental spurt. His sleeping has gone all tits up. He will go to bed at 7:30ish but is awake about 3 times before 12:00 wanting boob or just crying. Settle him and he goes back to sleep. He then wakes once or twice in the night then gets up 8:00-8:30. Was knackered last night. He was fed at 6:30, 8:40, 10:30, 11:15, 4:30 and then 8:30 but was up at 6:30 crying and nick woke me up at 7:30 getting ready for work!!
MATCHSTICKS PLEASE!!

Iwish · 03/01/2012 21:04

Oh and I put him in his cot at 8:05 tonight and he's still talking away to himself!!

KLou111 · 03/01/2012 21:08

Does he really want feeding all those times do you reckon, or is he sucking for comfort? Is he getting enough do you think? I would have thought the 8.40 and 11.15 he could potentially skip. How old is he now?

OP posts:
Iwish · 03/01/2012 21:11

He doesn't normally have those feeds. I think it might be comfort and that he's not had enough on the previous feed. Normally he has his last feed somewhere between 8:30 and 9:30 and will sleep till 5:00-6:00. It's just these last few days he's been a bit strange. He's been a lot more vocal too. He's 15 weeks now.

KLou111 · 03/01/2012 21:45

Euan went through a stage of every time I put him to me past 5pm, he would scream, almost as if he couldn't get enough and starving hence I changed to formula. I was upset, he was upset so it wasn't worth all the stress for either of us. Do you think it may be worth giving him a bottle at bedtime?

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 03/01/2012 22:49

blimey iwish bet you were pulling your hair out! i hope hes better for you, might be a growth spurt, i dont know when they are ment to have them but people always say growth spurt when they feed alotGrin

well, the baby ended up on the library floor today Hmm i took lulu for some books, she chose some so i put the baby in her car seat, not strapped in as she usually just rocks in it, and said to lulu, just keep an eye on her while i checkl these books out (got an automatic machine) 2 mins later lulu came running up 'mum, the babys on the floor', so i ran back (like a twat in the quiet library) and shes managed to get .herself half in and half out, prefectly
.happy ju.st laid there kicking away.

note to self. do NOT leave the baby ANYWHERE any more unstrappedGrin

Iwish · 04/01/2012 09:05

klou it's because he falls asleep I think. He would usually feed for 45 mins at night so that he sleeps longer but those days he just fell asleep but of you wake him he's really grumpy, and won't go back to sleep for ages. It's strange that he seems to do this when he goes to bed earlier.
He was good last night. Took a 45 min feed then slept till 5:10. Woohoo. Then he had another feed and slept till 8:10 Grin

I was pulling my hair out liz. I just kept saying to him 'you had best go to sleep, mummy's tired' lol.
I can't believe she got out of the car sear! You have a right wriggler there!

lizandlulu · 04/01/2012 18:54

evening all, no accidents today, apart from the baby making me spill coffee on my new emu bootsSad i have been wanting to wear them for ages, but its been so wet and i didnt want to ruin them, but today was dry so wore them, sat in costa and she went to grab my cup and it went down me, not alot but enough to mark my bootsSad Sad Sad

lulus back to school tomorrow and violet has got a nursery visit, got to leave her there for an hour, dropping her off at 8.20! then starting properly on monday when i go bacl to work

Iwish · 04/01/2012 20:46

Omg Liz. Bet you were livid. I would cry if I ruined my ugg boots.
Are you nervous about leaving her at nursery?

Joshua is testing my patience today! We went to the Trafford centre and he cried half way there then fell asleep. Started crying 10 mins after we got there and cried most of the way round. I was only going to 2 shops!!
He was very good when we were in the apple shop tho. I went to get myself a pretty new iPhone. He sat there smiling at the lady serving me.

lizandlulu · 04/01/2012 20:49

ahh was he having an off day? is he still in his pram? i found violet liked being out and about alot more when i put her in the seat unit so she could see more, she didnt like being laid flat all the timeSad

Iwish · 04/01/2012 22:06

Yeh he's still in the pram but ours lies down and sits up. Well it's supposed to but the decking thing wouldn't sit up today!!! I looked like a right tit stood in the middle of the Trafford centre attacking my pram lol.

Oh my fence blew down the other night too! Fab, going to cost a fortune.

I've just been really childish, was helping nick put contacts in his new phone (my old one) and I added a few rude contact names with fake numbers. made me laugh Grin

lizandlulu · 04/01/2012 22:31

oh iwish thats just sadGrin

and yes i am abit nervous about leaving her but i have to, its only for an hour tomorrow and the lady who will be running the 'baby' room is someone i know so i know she is in good hands, but no one knows her like i do and i just worry that they arent going to be able to look after as good as i would (sofa hopping asideGrin)!

my mil offered to come over for 1 day a week so it didnt cost us so much, but it was a very vauge offer, nothing concrete, and she came at the weekend and said something along the lines of 'if you ever need me to have her for the day just let me knwo as its alot of money 3 days a week' which would be ok if i wanted to plan a day out or something, but no good for just general everyday as i need more concrete plans. plus the nursery need notice.
