Hi all. Can I join your thread? Only just spotted it! I'm having our first baby on march 25 (8weeks today!!) we dont know the sex and are v excited about becoming parents Grin Pregnancy has been relatively ok so far - lots of sickness for first 22ish weeks and SPD in the last two weeks. Happy to take it all though as we know baby will be here soon, yay!!

ILoveMyDragon · 30/01/2012 10:56

Welcome brood

chulita just stick your oar in on fb page noone'll mind

Apart from the obvious I am mostly lookin forward to bein able to get up out of a chair and bed without a 10 minute full body consultation!

ILoveMyDragon · 30/01/2012 11:07

Oh and drinking a cup of tea without gettin heartburn

knitterati · 30/01/2012 23:25

I'm looking forward to being able to sleep on my front again!

NotFromConcentrate · 31/01/2012 11:47

Morning all! I keep forgetting to come here - FB is so much easier from my phone and I'm never at the c

NotFromConcentrate · 31/01/2012 11:53

Haha, good start to my post!

I'm never at the laptop now I'm not working

Nice to hear I'm not alone with the (TMI) swollen and painful bits. My bump seems to have shrunk and I'm getting loads of pressure in my pelvis, which is interesting if nothing else! I keep hopping out of the carand feeling like abowling ball has dropped into my pelvis!

Time really seems to be dragging now, although I was reading the October 2012 thread and it doesn't seem like so long ago we were all appearing with out BFPs! By tomorrow, our babies will be due next month (some even sooner)!!!

I have done all the nice jobs (crib, pram, hospital bag etc) and now have all the rubbish ones left to do (spring cleaning, painting, sorting out drawers etc). Ill start today... Maybe.

How is everyone else?

Chulita · 31/01/2012 12:00

Ach, those rubbish jobs can wait Grin You reminded me though, I need to dig out the moses basket and give the mattress an airing.

I'm looking forward to a year's time when hopefully DC3 will be sleeping through the night and I can finally catch up on all these years of getting up all night long and then up at the crack of dawn. I love my sleep, the one thing I truly, truly miss since having children! Nights out, romantic evenings with DH, peace and quiet, those would be nice but I don't miss them half as much as my precious sleep!

buterflies · 02/02/2012 17:27

Oh its getting closer now. Not long for us to go. I may be getting induced two weeks early depending on his estimated weight next time I have a scan. I can't wait to meet baby.
Hope everyone is feeling well x

babydust27 · 02/02/2012 19:15

I had my 36 week midwife appointment today with a different midwife as mine is on holiday. I was only in for 3 minutes and she wasnt really interested in what i was saying. Makes me very grateful for my lovely midwife who gives you a 20 minute appointment and a cup of tea!!

We have put the car seat in the car today, i was the only one at the ante natal group yesterday who hadnt so i started to panic!! It did take DP & I about an hour to work it all out though!! But its in now and very secure. We have got a really good thing from mothercare if anyone else is interested, its a mirror that ties around the headrest above the carseat so when were driving along we will be able to see our little peanut in the rear view mirror without playing about with it. I hadnt heard of them before but im really impressed with it

Im enjoying my maternity leave so far, ive made sure i spread all my little jobs out so i have something to do each day. Still need to book a hair appointment but with snow forecasted for the next few days im not intending on leaving the house!

Has anyone hired or bought a tens machine?

Chulita · 02/02/2012 20:21

I hated the tens machine but had back-to-back labours with both and it honestly made it a whole lot worse. Apparently if it's not b2b it's good for distraction but not necessarily pain relief.
Your MW sounds lovely! I'm not too keen on mine but since I've been going to the hospital for growth scans I've not been seeing the mw, no bad thing really!

firstduemarch09 · 08/02/2012 20:22

Hi! Was around months ago but then sort of got waylaid - having DC1 does that! - and now started maternity leave and remembered we have a new baby due! Have requested to join fb group as CN.

~Baby name books came out of the loft today but not much else done - half way through emptying the study to become a nursery and the decorator due in 10 days. bought a nightie with buttons down the front for my bag and thats about it. Due 25th March and need to get organised!!

babydust27 · 10/02/2012 08:56

2 weeks and 5 days til my due date!

Although i think i want the little one to stay put a little longer! My dp was supposed to have his driving test today and its been cancelled due to the snow. really need him to pass before the little one arrives!

I've been off work for 2 weeks now and starting to get bored, haven't been out much this week because of the snow but im going to go into town this afternoon to get my haircut and some food shopping.

we have got 3 girls names and 2 boys names at the moment!

ILoveMyDragon · 10/02/2012 17:05

Ohhh slapped wrists complete mn neglect!
Finish for mat leave in 40 mins - woo but bit scary and real!

Had high bp on wed so been instructed to rest and go back to mw next wed - higher bp seems to suit me tho been feeling pretty good!!
Although its not major high as 140/85 but as I'm usually 110/75 one not happy!

4 weeks till d day!

Norfolkbumpkin · 18/02/2012 21:55

1week and 6 days until elcs, yikes!
To take my mind off the worries of 'D day' I have been celebrating my 40th birthday today. Had a nice meal out with dh and dd, then family all arrived out of the blue to present me with my present which was a balloon ride. I am thrilled as it is something I have always wanted to do. I have one more week at work before I finish. It has been really hard going but I am purely thinking of the money and how much we need it. I only work for three days a week, full time would have stopped me in my tracks probably a month earlier than this. I still haven't packed my bag. It lays open on the floor with all the stuff to go in it piled up in and around the Moses basket. I really need to get myself into gear, if only I could get myself off the sofa and away from the biscuits Smile

knitterati · 19/02/2012 08:27

Aww! Happy birthday Norfolk good to heat you're finishing work soon! The end is in sight!!

I still haven't packed my hospital bag, but I'm not due till the end if March & I'm hoping for a home birth...but it should be packed regardless & just in case.

Although I'm hoping for a natural birth, I'm kind of jealous of those having an ELCS...you have a firm date when you'll meet your baby - the rest of us will be frantically knicker checking and wondering 'is this it?!' Grin

Am assuming you'll be doing the balloon ride after baby is here Wink ?

buterflies · 19/02/2012 16:44

Just checking in. Baby due in less than 4 weeks eek.

babydust27 · 19/02/2012 20:28

Im getting nervous now, im due in 10 days and have been to the hospital today with my boyfriend as hes just past his driving test and wanted to do a practice run.

Was very strange driving up to the place where we will meet our little peanut (hopefully) very soon!!

Has anyone thought if they are going to have a stretch and sweep? our next appointment is on the 1st (due date) and the midwife said she will do one then if i want one

CheeseandGherkins · 23/02/2012 14:39

Quick post to say that baby Ella was born on Feb 4th after I was induced at 34 weeks, she stayed in scbu for 2 weeks and is now at home with us and doing really well :) Trying to catch up and also on FB, posted my news on there too.

babydust27 · 24/02/2012 10:11

Congratulations cheese im pleased little ella is doing well

Norfolkbumpkin · 24/02/2012 11:23

That's great news cheese , I am glad that Ella is home and hope you are enjoying life with your little one.

I have just over an hour of work left before I start maternity leave, whoopee!
What is slightly scary is that this time next week I shall be in hospital for my elcs. Hopefully by now I will have had the op and be cuddling little one whilst eating toast. I am excited/mildly terrified at the same time.....

March is on the horizon, let the baby popping commence!

buterflies · 26/02/2012 09:08

Congratulations to CheeseandGherkins, so very pleased for you.

Just 19 days until my due date but hoping to be induced around the 5th March.

Cannot wait. :)

buterflies · 04/03/2012 16:07

Yay, I am being induced on Tuesday 6th two days to go. Hope everyone is well

Reallea · 07/03/2012 14:13

Wow- tumbleweed!! Where is everyone? Having babies maybe??

Congrats cheese and probably by now, butterflies as well!

Thought we might have ours today- am officially 3days over dd and had regular braxton hicks for about 7 hours yesterday - was how I stumbled into labour last time- was never sure where e braxton hicks stopped and the real contractions began to be honest. Anyway they've almost stopped now so am reckoning bub changed his/her mind and wants to hang on in there a while longer.

Anyone else had a baby yet??

FlipFantasia · 07/03/2012 18:36

Hello!

Belated congrats to Cheese and (hopefully) to Buterflies too.

Reallea everyone's on the FB group and there's been a good number of babies born so far. I lurk there but there's so much posting that I'm a bit nervous of joining now. I only finished work on Friday so had no time for FBing or MNing until now. I'm 37+5 but not expecting anything to happen anytime soon (was induced at 42 weeks with DS).
