Monkey I would also complain, I forgot to take my notes to the midwife at one of my appointments and she was fine about it. There is absolutely no need for her to humiliate you.
Besides they have a copy of your notes at the hospital anyway!

Cheeseandgherkins big hugs, hope you are ok, sorry not too good with words.

Hope everyone is blooming xx

ShaggingProducesResults · 11/12/2011 08:47

Monkey. She sounds like a complete bitch. You should definitely complain and ask that she doesn't provide your care going forward. Makes me really angry to hear about horrible midwives, it's so unnecessary.

Am back from holiday and not loving the cold!! Mini loved the sunshine and was very active and seemed to grow a lot in 10 days (nothing to do with the amount I ate, honest!!!) but now we're back home Tge bump seems to have gone down again. Quite odd!!

Have been getting a lot more back and hip pain as well as a lovely bruised feeling in my ladybits. So glamorous! Back to physio next week for a bit of help.

Does anybody else wake up in the night needing a wee with a really achey bump? I've had it a few times and it feels really tight and uncomfortable. Seems to go after a few hours though. Most strange!

Hope everybody having scans and tests is well and that the pre xmas stresses aren't too bad. What is everybody doing for xmas this year? We're off to the ILs........... Joy! ;)

ILoveMyDragon · 11/12/2011 09:46

Hi ladies!
shaggin yes I always wake with bump ache! And I'm gettin the bruised crotch feeling too.

Finally managed to Skype with my bro and sil last night to show off ny bump so strange they won't meet their niecphew till they are a year old but thank goodness for Skype!

Haven't even decided on what we are doin for Christmas my mum has invited IL's to theirs which would take pressure off but can't imagine fil will agree to it - finds socialisin hard but Mil would love it!

Putting tree up tomo woo!

Hope y'all doin well

Hello everyone!

Can't believe I've not had a spare minute to MN since I left my job... Makes me realise how much work time I spent here!

DH is "fixing" the laptop so will get on tomorrow for a proper catch up on how everyone is. Meantime, I just wanted to say hello and ask if anyone has had leaking boobage yet?

KittyRogue · 11/12/2011 20:52

Hey NFC I get the odd ooze from me boobs too! Cool/freaky

NotFromConcentrate · 11/12/2011 20:59

It's weird, I don't remember getting this early with my first two! It's a daily occurrence, and started earlier in the week when I took off my bra and thought (TMI) I had dry flaky skin, only to discover it was leakage! Freaky.

knitterati · 12/12/2011 05:33

Ah yes...the other day I woke up and thought someone had painted a streak of PVA glue on my boobs...till I realised it was probably dried leakage Blush. Quite weird!

KittyRogue · 12/12/2011 09:35

I am hoping its a good sign and that it means I will supply enough milk to feed baby. I just need to stop squeezing as I'm making my nipples sore.... But i really can't stop myself!!!

Is anyone else getting fed up with going out for meals or round to parties and being the only one not drinking? My birthday is coming up and I'm really reluctant to do anything as it means people drinking and being goofs whilst I sit and stew and get really sleepy. I didn't drink much before pregnancy but I think it was nice to have to option. Hey ho :)

NotFromConcentrate · 13/12/2011 11:53

Kitty I know what you mean. I seems to fancy a fee drinks far more often now than I did before I was pregnant, and I've avoided a couple of nights out because I can't face another night of OJ while everyone else gets hammered!

I'm having a really rubbish day. DS1 was at out of ours until 1am with a migraine, and we never got to bed until 2. Dh pissed off back to bed this morning at 9.15 and I haven't seen him since. Since I stopped working, h does this every week on his days off. What's really getting to me is that, firstly, I feel like the hired bloody help; he can do whatever he wants because the children are my responsibility. Secondly, I'm so tired it's making me sick and nobody notices. He never asks how I'm feeling, or suggests I have a lie down, or evens remember that I'm pregnant and would probably appreciate a bit of looking after. Not working has been the worst thing I ever did! I appreciate he has a job, but I never get a minute (plus have 2x 30 minute and 2x 45 minute daily walks to school/nursery 3 times a week!)

Sorry for the rant, I'm just feeling a bit miserable and sorry for myself today Blush

KittyRogue · 14/12/2011 07:15

NFC sending you a masssive hug. Men just don't get it sometimes do they? Will try and write a longer post later - running late this morning and don't want to miss the bus! Xx

knitterati · 14/12/2011 08:36

Aw. NFC...it is hard. I've now started hols/ redundancy on Friday & adjusting to the new order of things at home. Fortunately DH has never had me at home playing housewife before so is currently grateful for anything he gets Grin

Independence & house responsibilities was a big concern for me before going on leave, so have been reading up on various bits of advice. One of them was making a list of responsibilities & listing out who's responsible/does it most of the time...it might make your DH realise that although he may be providing the dosh, he's not providing you with the support you need - especially as your pregnancy progresses.
HTH?

Off to aquanatal class this morning for the first time. Can't wait! X

NotFromConcentrate · 14/12/2011 09:05

Morning all!

H and I not speaking as I had it out with him yesterday. Not really arsed at the moment, his petulance falls well below knackeredness (that's a word, OK?!), nausea and headaches on my priority list... Welcome to trimester 3!

Being at home is odd, isn't it Knit? I'm naturally a very independent person and I'm finding it a bit difficult to adjust. H seemed to appreciate me being at home initially, but now everything seems to default to being my responsibility. Plus I'm having a bit of a battle with the midwives just now - maybe its me who's really difficult and argumentative rather than everyone else?!

Have a good day, you pregnant bunch Grin

CheeseandGherkins · 14/12/2011 10:55

Thanks all, her birthday was easier than I'd thought and we did have some good memories of it and we made some new ones as well. Feeling awful today, caught a bug that ds1 has just got over so I'm resting on the sofa today feeling sorry for myself!

knit scan went well, baby is measuring bigger but they expect that due to my gestational diabetes. I also have PCOS, that's my only risk factor for GD, none in the family either. I've been on insulin since about 13 weeks.

stuff I had a few nights where sleeping was really hard but then got back to normal. It was quite odd. We're pretty much done for Christmas now, at least the presents. Tree is up along with decorations and lights and we plan to buy the christmas food next week one day.

shagging yes I get that with the aching, I think it's maybe the baby putting pressure on bladder and making bump ache. I can get it during the day if I try and wait too long before having a wee too. We're having Christmas at home as usual. Always stay at home wiht the dcs and anyone is welcome to come. My parents and grandad will be joining us on Christmas day again this year.

NFC yep, been leaking milk for a while now. Sorry you're feeling so bad :( I hope you manage to get some more rest soon.

kitty I've cut down on eating out due to my GD to be honest, it's a pain having to inject when out and about so I try and do it at home or at least in the car if we have to eat out!

26+4 today! Anyone else getting lots of Braxton hicks? I had a run of them last night for about an hour and was getting a bit worried, they were only a few minutes apart for all that time and getting painful when they just died off.

babydust27 · 14/12/2011 19:28

Cheese how long did it take to get your GD results back? Ive been for my tests this morning and when i asked one nurse said 3 weeks and the other 3 days!!

Im 29 weeks tomorrow! Treated myself to some maternity pjs today that were down to £15 in mothercare

CheeseandGherkins · 14/12/2011 19:41

Well because of what happened last time and the fact I went undiagnosed with GD the new hospital started me testing with the finger prick tests straight away at 13 weeks, I called the results in after a few days and they put me onto insulin. I think the normal, drink and blood test ones are done the same day at my hospital though. Definitely wasn't 3 weeks! That sounds very long! Are you having the full GTT?

babydust27 · 14/12/2011 20:26

I think so it was the lucozade and blood tests i had today as my dads a type 1 diabetic. I was hoping to know before we open the xmas chocolates!

CheeseandGherkins · 14/12/2011 21:04

If it was the one with 3 blood tests over the course of a couple of hours then it should be pretty quick. They probably had results back today if not tomorrow. Can you give them a call tomorrow afternoon or so to check?

knitterati · 15/12/2011 05:32

Cheese that's crappy that you have to be on insulin Sad. I really hope I don't have GD, i'd be terrible at injecting myself Sad- I'm such a wimp... Especially for someone who's hoping for a home birth with just g&a and maybe pethadine!!

NFC - sounds like you need a bit of a break! Could you stay with parents/siblings/friends for a couple of days as a bit of a change of scenery? Or do something out of the ordinary to give you a little shake-up?

Btw...LO is having a tummy rave tonight Grin - it's first time I've really felt it when I've been wanting to sleep! Plus I saw the kicks today for the first time - amazing!!

babydust27 · 15/12/2011 10:18

Thanks for your advice cheese ive rang and got told i dont have gd. the first reading was 4.4 then after the lucozade and 2 hours it went up to 4.7, i woukdnt have rang up without you suggesting it

CheeseandGherkins · 15/12/2011 10:19

knit it's hard at times but I know it's worth it, least it feels like I'm doing something about it, if that makes sense. I thought I'd never be able to inject myself, I'm awful with needles and always get anxious and panicky when I have to have blood tests etc. I think it's different when you know you have to do it though and for the good of the baby.

I have no chance for a homebirth now but, if I'm honest, I'll be glad of all the monitoring and hospital now. I'd planned a homebirth for last time so I'm definitely that way inclined usually but after a loss like that it changed me. I worry about everything and will be glad to be hooked up to all the monitors possible!

My little one always seems to kick a lot at night when I'm trying to sleep :)

ILoveMyDragon · 16/12/2011 19:17

Helloooo!!!

Feel like I haven't been here for ages!!

Hope everyone is well and DP/H's are at least attemptin to behave themselves!! It is so difficult when the support isn't there.

No leakage here......but I do have big thick lines going down my boobs first thing in the morning but they go by the end of the day.

Tonight is my present organisation night as DP won't be home till tomorrow afternoon and then finish the shoppin tomorrow - not lookin forward to that at all!!!!!!

Feelin big this week bump feels tight a lot and I keep having to roll down my bump band.

28 + 1

knitterati · 19/12/2011 10:05

It's very quiet in here at the moment? Busy with Christmas I should think! ...

LilPud · 21/12/2011 23:50

Cant believe there's only 4 sleeps left til Xmas! I've had the cold from hell and have really struggled without all the usual medication, think I've finally turned a corner tho - thank god cos my house is becoming a midden and we're doing the dinner this year. Don't remember ever feeling this wiped from a stupid bloody cold!! Baby seems completely unbothered tho so that's one good thing.

Thats the 27 week Mark today so roll on the third (and final) trimester.

Merry Christmas everyone x

babydust27 · 22/12/2011 11:00

Im enjoying my last day off before Christmas! My shop has been so busy this week that im going to sit with my feet up and eat my chocolate orange today!!

Im 30 weeks now and have finished packing my hospital bag, only 5 more weeks to go until maternity leave.

We have done all of our christmas food shopping, i dont think we have ever had so much food in the house!! DP has taken over our fridge in the utility room as his beer fridge! Ive got my shloer but its just not the same!!

stuffthenonsense · 22/12/2011 11:06

Ugh, i have had a horrid vomitting bug...lost 3lb in a day, but baby was fine, merrily kicking and punching its way through it all...not helpful lol
I cant believe its all going so fast!...what with talk of mat leave and hospital bags already...it is shockingly close now..
Hope everyone has a good christmas xxx
