dublindee · 16/01/2012 22:30

Please can I join in? Didn't think to look at the antenatal threads (duh!!) til tonight!!!!!
Stats: Due on 30th March with DS3. DS1 will be 7yo next month and DS2 turned 5 on 10th December.
Had really rough time up to 21wks with rotten hyperemesis, but this has now stopped and been overtaken by heartburn. Can live with that though!! My 2 are so excited about the impending arrival of their little brother that they have counted the days left to my EDD and are ticking them off on a calendar :o .... 74 and counting!!!

lucyfluff · 18/01/2012 10:21

Hi ladies

Just wondered if anyone had any experience of painful kicks? Im having feet or possibly arms underneath my ribs which are actually hurting. He will move in waves mainly in the evening which are very strong and take my breath away!! I have an anterior placenta so could it be this? I just cant remember movements hurting?!?

Thanks lucy x

nandrin · 18/01/2012 21:20

Haven't been on the antenatal threads for aaaaages (usually just lurk on some of the other topics) anyway just wanted to say hope everyone is doing well. Is anyone else feeling pretty fed up of being pregnant?

lucyfluff, I'm pregnant with my second and find the movements really quite painful to the point I sometimes have to stop what I'm doing, also way more Braxton hicks and more painful too. I have a posterior placenta so prob not to do with that. I'm sure its normal though

buterflies · 18/01/2012 21:44

Lucy Yes its normal to have painful kicks, not much fun when they get you under ribs etc

ILoveMyDragon · 19/01/2012 09:13

Blimey its quiet in here!

Hope everyone is doin ok. I'm gettin a bit fed up of the aching but trying to preoccupy myself trawling thro the internet lookin at cute non essentials and piling them into my amazon wish list then giving in and buying them! i get kicks in the ribs not so much painful but uncomfortable and the thought makes me feel airway!

3 weeks left at work :D 7 till e-day

LilPud · 19/01/2012 13:24

Hi all

I have the same thing lucy my baby is very active and can often do things that hurt. I'm afraid it's normal and as it gets bigger it might just get worse. I often get Ribflare throughout the day while I sit at work and the only thing I can do is stretch the side it's happening at.

Was happy to see that all the women on OBEM had a better time last night - was beginning to think all babies were giants these days and it was scaring the cr*p out of me.

Hello to all the new folk, hope everything is going well.

Poppins27 · 19/01/2012 18:17

Hi ladies, I did introduce myself in the early days but have been a bit of a lurker since so thought it was about time to show my face again....can't believe where the time has gone tbh!!

Really pleased everyone seems to be getting on well, and the end is starting to look like it's in sight :-)

It is interesting reading about the classes, I was worried I'd been forgotten so tried chasing them up again today, due 9th March and was just told I was on the list and I'd hear in due course...er ok then?! Although panicking there isn't a lot of 'due course' left?!

buterflies · 19/01/2012 18:55

Well its not looking like I will have a good labour again :(
I have been told I can't use birth pool at all as will be on drip for diabetes and as I am not allowed to go overdue will probably end up being induced.

Bah humbug.
Was really hoping this one DC2 was going to be as natural as possible but not to be. Never mind as long as lil one is healthy it is all that matters but I do feel strangely cheated.

Anyone else felt like this?

lucyfluff · 20/01/2012 09:22

Thanks for the replies everyone...I guess it just depends on where he is laying when he kicks because its not all of the time, I have never heard of Ribflare tho Lilpud...is this just from sitting upright for long periods?

The countdown is pretty much on now so I will continue moaning daily now until he is here ;)

lucy x

ILoveMyDragon · 20/01/2012 12:11

Haha Lucy I feel like all I'm doin is moaning atm every day a different niggle its nice to be able to whinge and moan at people who understand tho! We don't mind.

For all the newbies there is a fb group called mumsnet march 2012 which is quite active and useful for daily moans and bump pics!

lucyfluff · 20/01/2012 16:57

PetaO · 20/01/2012 19:50

Hi, only thought to check ante-natal threads today, but have been hovering on mn since we found out we were expecting! My 1st baby is due 18th March (mother's day!) so I thought I'd join you all! Has been good to read I'm not the only one with a crazily active baby and painful kicks/waves. Sometimes my whole belly moves to the side!
Also, wondered if anyone else booked in for NCT classes has them scheduled really close to the due date? Mine don't star until 11th Feb and go on until the end of Feb...what if I;m early??!

ILoveMyDragon · 21/01/2012 15:57

Welcome petao mine start 31st Jan finish 24th Feb and I'm due 9th march seem to like cutting it fine!

Treks · 21/01/2012 19:21

Petao and Ilovemydragon - I've booked mine close to my due date too. There seems to be some sort of refund if you're early and my view was that the nearer I was to my due date, the less likely I was to forget!

MakkaPakkasWilly · 22/01/2012 19:25

Hello you lot

I have been very quiet... Not even lurking I'm afraid! I am initials SF on the FB group!

Well - nearly ended up with an EMCS yesterday. DS2 decided that I looked good to jump on, so he did. Cue a trip to the delivery ward, 10 hours of monitoring and only being allowed home overnight on the proviso I go back in for more monitoring. They are worried he caused an abruption, and as I had one before, it's not a big stretch.

Not ready for him to show up yet, his baby clothes are still in the loft.

Anyway - on enforced bedrest now! How are y'all?

lucyfluff · 25/01/2012 11:01

SOOOOO fed up NEED TO MOAN again....!!

Ended up in DAU Sunday as baby had shifted VERY low and not moving like nomal...apparantly he is now breach but CTG showed movements were ok. Midwife was quite abrupt about how I shoud be monitoring movements and has actually panicked me rather than reassured!!!
Monday was all good felt back to normal and then yest eve/today he is causing me discomfort again :( Has anyone else felt them really low down in the pelvis? (I mean literally where my pubes are TMI sorry!!!)??? and I have a stabby pain like a needle at times which has started annoying me!

Sorry to moan, just fed up and wanted these last few weeks to be blooming...left MW voicemail but am currently sat here with my legs crossed lol!!!

Lucy x

knitterati · 26/01/2012 04:23

Hi lucyfluff not had this myself, but it could be the ligaments stretching? Not sure though - probably worth pesteringfollowing up with the midwife. Mine has never been too good at returning voicemails! Let's hope it's not like that come D date when she'll be delivering my baby (with any luck)!

Let us know how you get on.

MakkaPakka how's the bed rest going?

ILoveMyDragon · 26/01/2012 09:01

Lucy I have pain in my right hip which goes into my pubic area especially when I Fidget at night apparently its sciatica altho my yoga teacher paid there is a tiny tiny joint right in the centre of your pubes which occasionally gets 'stuck open' and can cause pain I get a feeling like it needs to click if that makes sense! Best thing to do is keep your legs together and sleep with a pillow between your legs. My mw confused of a bit with movements I couldn't guarantee ten movements but I certainly feel it moving not sure if its abnormal or not but heart beat good so figure its ok! ALso baby not grown in last 3 weeks but that has pulled me back to vie right size as I was measuring big before so all ok!

lucyfluff · 26/01/2012 09:46

Hiya girls, thanks for the replies was feeling very hormonal when I posted!!
Anyway, update from MW yest, baby is probably sat on a nerve very low down/combination of a softening pelvis....resulting in the discomfort. Paracetemol and trying to shift him to a different position for the next few weeks, she is ringing me next week to check on me so not total neglect!!

x

LilPud · 27/01/2012 16:17

lucy Ribflare is where the baby is moving ribs out the way and happens cos it's getting bigger and sitting down all day at a desk makes the space between pelvis and ribs a bit cramped. I had the same pains as you on Tuesday night, it was reallllly painful all down my left hip/leg and sharp stabbing pains that came from deep inside and down. I googled it (as usual) and others said that this was the baby dropping down a bit and lying on nerves, just what you're MW said basically. It's not so bad now but the stabbing pain is returning now and again and ouch it hurts. Still 8 weeks to go!!!

babydust27 · 28/01/2012 09:21

Hello!
I'm popping back after being away for months (and months and months), I am was addicted to my last ante-natal thread but have less time now so haven't been as chatty with all of you! I read the fb group page and think about posting but then think how you'll all be Hmm "who is this random woman?" so haven't.
I'll try and keep up with this a bit better, been obsessively crocheting DD play food even though she's not interested in pretend cooking.

6wks 2 days til I meet little beanlet and wave goodbye to SPD, sciatica, sinusitus, overly swollen bits (tmi), breathlessness, fluid retention and anaemia...cannot wait!
