Ladies, our previous thread was getting full so here is a lovely new shiny home for us all.

I've put some comfy cushions around and plenty of pregnancy safe snacks and drinks. The Segway park is in the corner over there next to the stack of glittery vom buckets (plenty of extra buckets too for all the newbies).

In the corner over here you'll find our library of leaflets including sections on early pregnancy private scan clinics, pushchairs and car seats.

Hope you all like it very much :)

Purplebuns, Love, Deny and Hawthers, thanks for the advice! I've now booked an appointment with my GP (and I got the lovely one who's easily the kindest in the practice, bonus!) for a week on Monday first thing in the morning, which is good as that's the first day I can call the hospital to make my booking appointment. So, if all goes according to plan and my bean sticks around, I'll see the GP, get the forms, come home and book a scan.

Hawthers, never mind gentle brooking, I'm up for the firm, no deviating opinions allowed sort of brooking on your behalf! FX for a growth scan showing a chubba of at least a kilo (OK, maybe a little unrealistic, but I'm overflowing with optimism and directing some your way!). Also, with regards to the size of the bump, I'm with Biscuits - look at the amount of women on "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant" (I watch some really classy TV) who have 7lb babies and just think they've eaten a few too many pies!

Wants Hope everything's still OK, no more bleeding. And milk away! You're already doing one job (growing a whole person!), you can't be expected to constantly multi-task!

scarlet and dream - I've been overly warm, actually, and very bizarrely as usually I'm really cold. But I've been throwing off the covers in bed and opening windows. Very odd!

Jen bless you! I'm not quite there yet with the level of nausea, but I feel like it's increasing day by day. But I'm quite happy for it to stay at this level! I hope you feel better soon.

mememummy · 23/09/2011 16:35

Dream I told her really earlyBlush at 7 weeks after my second scan she has asked Santa the past two years for a sister we went to mother care and bought a few bits today just some vests and shoes and she picked a toy for the shrimp and wanted to pay with her pocket money Smile so cute x

Biscuitsandtea · 23/09/2011 16:37

Aw Meme that is soooo adorable! I think I'd like to take DS to buy a present nearer to the time, but how cute to want to pay herself. Awwwww......

scarletfingernail · 23/09/2011 17:05

meme that is so cute.

Imps7 · 23/09/2011 17:40

Did someone say "Slanket"?? I got one a couple of years ago for Christmas, before they were really popular (check me out - I'm so ahead of the game). Best Christmas present ever. So warm! So snuggly! So practical! I'd definitely recommend.

scarletfingernail · 23/09/2011 17:54

Well I defintely have to have one after that recommendation, thanks Imps

No need to rush out, you and your slanket are always welcome Smile

Wants3 · 23/09/2011 20:01

This thread may become known as the slanket appreciation one! Sitting in mine right now, so snuggly:) DS2also has a blue one and DS1 has a Jedi style one!

LoveInAColdClimate · 23/09/2011 20:06

Hmmm, having never wanted a Slanket before I now crave one!

LoveInAColdClimate · 23/09/2011 20:08

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 23/09/2011 20:10

Hi ladies!

Wants I'm so glad someone else is finding their jeans too tight as well! I have zero bumpage at the mo (9 weeks tom) but my stomach feels HUGE from all the bloating and general digestive unpleasantness!

Mmmmmm slankets! I soooooo want one. That was on my Xmas list last year but didn't happen Sad I can't complain though, it's my 2nd anniversary next week and DH has agreed to get me a new super dooper soft and fluffy robe!! When I'm feeling sick and sorry for myself I like to lounge around on the sofa in my robe, but at the moment with crazy sensitive painful nips I literally can't wear my old robe! That is soon to be sorted Grin can't wait! (so so sad I know)

I got my appt dates today! MW booking in appt on the 7th and my 12 week scan on the 14th!!! Sooooo excited! I'm so glad to have concrete dates to focus on! Plus I just found out today that one of my fav people at work, who lives just down the road from me, is 13 weeks pg!! I have a mat leave buddy!! I'm super excited about that too!!!

I hope everyone is feeling a bit better this eve, esp Dream and Jen.

dreamfeeder · 23/09/2011 21:24

I've eaten dinner and its still down for the first time today, so I've cheered up. In the mornings, I look super thin, having lost about 4 lb due to the puking (nothing compared to meme of course), by evenings, I'm back to looking about 20 weeks, literally. Quite depressing. Hope you're doing ok jen

I have a cheapo version of a slanket- think it's called a snuggie, or a snuggle?! Its good, but I'm still cold a lot!

meme, your DD sounds lovely, imagine wanting to buy the shrimp a present from her pocket money, that is so sweet.

Less than 2 weeks til my 12 week scan, yippee!

jenfraggle · 24/09/2011 09:20

I had my letter through yesterday with my booking appointment. It's 12th October and I have to find out where Penrice Birth Centre is now as I have no idea!

I haven't been bloating, I don't have trapped wind. I was sick yesterday afternoon but stopped by the evening. The only real symptom I've had so far is sore boobs and tiredness, I feel rather lucky even though I've gone to bed at 8 most nights this week!

pommedechocolat · 24/09/2011 15:34

So... I have something to confess.. I had a private sexing scan this am... It's a girl!! So we will have two girls! I was worried I'd be disappointed by the thought of not having a son but I am actually just excited about having two girls now.

So the nub theory test thing was true for us :)

Hope all the pukers are feeling okay.

scarletfingernail · 24/09/2011 15:58

Congratulations pomme I'm thrilled for you. Two little girls will be lovely. Have you told your DD?

Remind me again about the nub theory? Did you also do the baking powder peeing thing? I'm not intending to find out the sex but I do like trying out the old wives theories.

pommedechocolat · 24/09/2011 16:45

We have but I'm not sure she really got it (18 months). Think she might eb cottoning on to the whole 'baby in mummy's tummy' thing though.

The nub theory is to do with 12 week scan picture - all babies will have a nub between the legs and it's to do with the angle the nub is pointing down/up at. we also did the wedding ring test a few days ago which said girl too.

dreamfeeder · 24/09/2011 19:23

Hey, pomme, my colleague repeatedly did the wedding ring test on me, and it always said girl and I always thought how wrong you are , we're having a boy (clearly we had a girl). That was partly because she said I would have a girl, then a boy, then no more- and i'm desperate for at least 3, so i really hope she's wrong about that bit!!! And Congratulations! I think 2 little girls is perfect. secretly I think i'd like another little girl, though I'd be delighted with any healthy baby!

Think we're joining you scarlet with not finding out, but this time I kind of want to, but DH doesn't. Not that it will matter- if its a boy, I'm sure he won't care if he's wearing pink babygro's at first, but it would save me getting all the bags of little girls stuff down from the loft and washed, and instead get my friend's little boy stuff down from her loft and washed!!! DH keen on a surprise again though.

So if DD is going to be 19 months ish when this baby is born, is she going to get it much at all before the baby arrives and ruins her life?!?!?!

Only thrown up 3 times today, very manageable. Went out for 2 whole hours without DD for the second time ever. She and daddy were just fine. This is good, as back to work day is 19th oct- looming fast...

scarletfingernail · 24/09/2011 20:22

Have any of you checked out the Chinese gender prediction chart? I know it's a 50/50 chance of being correct anyway but it's fun to look at. It was right for me with DS, it predicts another DS for me this time too.

content.thebump.com/sitelets/chinese-gender-chart/#

Biscuitsandtea · 25/09/2011 06:45

Couldn't get that one to work on iPad but googled and did a diff one which said girl for me (and was right for ds Smile)

OP posts:
pommedechocolat · 25/09/2011 08:55

That one said girl then son for me but another one I'd done had said two girls. That might have been a lunar one though? May be different?

scarletfingernail · 25/09/2011 10:03

There is a different version based on lunar age and that predicted a girl for me this time and was right with DS also. Oh well, I guess with only 2 possibilities it will be right at least 50% of the time Grin

How's everyone doing today? Anyone up to anything exciting? Nothing much happening here today. Just about to get the bacon butties on.

Getting excited for my 10 week scan on Weds, but also feeling nervous. I had a few griping pains yesterday that made me a bit worried so have been back to frantically knicker checking since.

Biscuitsandtea · 25/09/2011 11:16

Oooh just done that one on the link (now I'm on the compoooter) and it says girl too - DS assures me thought that it must be a boy because he's a boy..... Hmm

Bacon buttie on white bread with butter and Ketchup for me please Scarlet :)

Purplebuns · 25/09/2011 14:19

Hi everyone I had my 16 week mw appt this morning and heard the baby's heartbeat :)
Now I am googling whether heart rate indicates gender but apparently not. DD was 145 and this baby was 156 so interesting there is a difference.
I can't see a nub on my scan pics which is a shame.

The chinese predictor says girl for this one, but says DD should have been a boy. Although, I am having fun with the old wives tales I am still not sure whether to find out or not. I have a month to decide I suppose!

Nice to have two girls to play together Pomme :)

pommedechocolat · 25/09/2011 14:38

Oo how lovely Purple. Hearing the heartbeat is so lovely.

I think they say faster heartbeat = boy but I think it's a pretty ropey one!

biscuits - Your ds sounds very logical! Very sweet.

TooImmature2BDumbledore · 25/09/2011 14:41

Yay for a girl, Pomme! I can't wait to find out.

With the Chinese test, do you count month of conception as month in which you had LMP or month in which you ovulated? I tested it on DD, and if you go by May (LMP for her was about 24 May) then it says boy, but if I put in June it says girl. I would have ovved in June...Anyway, it says girl for this one!

I have also just done the wedding ring test and it says boy. Confused I shall try the nub theory after scan on Wed.

MeconiumHappens · 25/09/2011 14:44

Hello rat smackers, hope everyone is well. I also am the proud owner of a slanket, mmmm. The siamese slanket= wtf who named that!

I have dating scan appt on 14/10/11 (snap scream!) can't wait, so ready to tell everyone now :)
