Ladies, our previous thread was getting full so here is a lovely new shiny home for us all.

I've put some comfy cushions around and plenty of pregnancy safe snacks and drinks. The Segway park is in the corner over there next to the stack of glittery vom buckets (plenty of extra buckets too for all the newbies).

In the corner over here you'll find our library of leaflets including sections on early pregnancy private scan clinics, pushchairs and car seats.

Hope you all like it very much :)

hi all, sorry I've been lacking in the brooking no argument dept the last couple of days. too busy with cake making and visitors for DS's birthday. also lying on the couch like a tired beached whale. Blush

DS snottered happily through his birthday, off to bed with the vapour rub on as he's a bit blocked up.

hawthers you've got to wonder what's going on in some people's brains!

will try to check in and catch up properly on the pc tomorrow.

Biscuitsandtea · 22/09/2011 06:12

Morning brookers!!

I'm sitting in bed eating 'emergency crisps' as have woken up feeling queasy and sent DH downstairs to get some (they just seem to fix my nausea)

Jaggy glad ds had a good birthday - although boo for snot - hope that goes soon. Ds's is today - I'm very excited Smile

Dream yay for the car seat fitting - sometimes things are just meant like that Smile I can think of several things where we have guessed if something will fit in some particular gap in the house whilst in the shop and it has fitted perfectly when we've got home. DH must have an excellent eye for thus sort of thing! Smile

forgotten what else I wanted to say and on iPad - back in a tick.....

Ah yes,

Meme we did nct with ds and I met an excellent bunch of ladies all of whom I am still really good friends with - it is so lovely that we have all stuck together - and they're ace Smile. Their only problem is they won't be on maternity leave with me this time - very disagreeable of them Sad. Well technically I won't be on mat leave as I don't work but you know what I mean. I've missed the first rush of popping out no 2!

Scarlet glad you could tell your parents. I bet they are apprehensive for you - I think my mum was a bit like that too for us (or just underwhelmed Hmm). You are after all still their little girl Smile. Only since having ds can I imagine how much we'll still worry about our babies when they're all grown up!

My mum found out (accidentally) 1 day after us BlushHmmConfused and I think overall she would have rather skipped the worry bit! Plus she thought because I had my mc when she had cancer that she would have cancer again because I was pg Hmm - not a medically proven theory and subsequently proven wrong when she got the all clear for another year!

Oh and hello wants - keep ticking those days off! I found weeks 5-7 went even s..l..o..w..e..r than the rest of the time. I guess it is because you find out about 4 weeks and then you've already done 4 weeks, but slowly but surely you find yourself getting through the weeks don't you. I find now I read someone else is 10 or 11 weeks and I'm thinking 'I wish I was that far along ... And then remembering I'm 13 weeks Blush!

Hello biscuits I think I jinxed myself by saying I hd nothing going on, last night I hd a bleed after DTD! Worried sick and didn't sleep much. No blood this morning but will take it easy today.( no work, just uni lecture and study) glad I can come on here and talk about it as there is no one in RL at the moment.

Purplebuns · 22/09/2011 10:45

Oh Wants at least you know what caused the bleed, still really worrying remember you can still call your midwife and have it followed up, they will probably tell you not DTD again though (impressed you did in the first place!)

I am feeling miserable today, I have had nearly a week of pain and I am so fed up. I am having another day off work today and my physio isn't until the 18th October. And that is the only thing that is going to help me really, and until then I have to keep swallowing pills. I am really not good at sitting around and the idea that I am going to get worse as I get bigger is a killer! :(

I hope everyone else is feeling better. And Hawthers I know you are going to be fine I can feel it in my waters Wink

Wants3 · 22/09/2011 11:10

Do you think that was it? I don't have a midwife yet so I dont know who to talk to about it. Sorry for tmi but DH was very slow and gentle and it wasn't deep so surprised that was the cause! I did have thrush last week, it's all going on down there! DH just wants to wrap me up in cotton wool now.

Purplebuns · 22/09/2011 11:15

I think so, cervical erosion is very common in pg or a implantation bleed. If the bleeding gets worse do go to A&E or ring your EPU/EPAU (early pregnancy unit), but bleeding in general is very common so try not to worry as much as possible.

Wants3 · 22/09/2011 11:37

Thanks purple I am meant to be writing an essay today but my mind keeps wandering. This pregnancy is proving to be completely different in every possible way to my others!

Purplebuns · 22/09/2011 12:01

I am supposed to be finishing off my essay, it is a self reflecting piece and I have found it so hard, it is only 1500-2000 word limit but I have limped along, changed it, still not happy, and have 150 words to do a conclusion. And that is for the min 1500 words. I am just not good about talking about myself, especially as I think I end up sounding like an arrogant twat. Hmm

Wants3 · 22/09/2011 12:44

Don't you just love the self reflection! This assignment is meant to be 7000 words including a reflective log! I am yet to put any words in any kind of sensible way! I am off to the library now to try and focus on it instead of baby3! I will pop back later with updatesand to soak up some more positivity from all you lovely people! :)

hawthers · 22/09/2011 14:38

Thank you for all your brooking and kind words just what I needed to hear. I can't expect everyone to walk on egg shells around me I know but it would be nice if some of them thought before opening their mouths. And purplebuns if your waters say its going to be ok then it will be so!

wants quietly brooking for you over here that there is no more bleeding

meme we didn't get to do nct with ds but everyone I've met since swears by if. Although one friend says that ypu are basically paying for some like minded new friends... In a fit of optimism we've signed up for our refresher nct classes too. Hope there isn't too much whale music and chanting - DH will be out of there like a shot!

Wants3 · 22/09/2011 17:08

Hello, I am back from my brain bashing and am feeling wiped out, mainly due to not sleeping much last night! There has been no more bleeding so am feeling more positive. If DH gets in from work and wants to do everything for me I will milk it for as long as possible:)

dreamfeeder · 22/09/2011 17:29

Hi all,

I am knackered. DD still suffering with her head cold, and now a cough too. She has had me up from 3am. She could only sleep on my chest again. I am losing patience with this cold, I'm sooo tired!!! I have abandoned her to daddy for tea as I've just been busy having a good puking session. Still, her grandpa had her this afternoon for a couple of hours while DH and I went for a walk without DD, for the first time since she arrived! it was lovely- until I started puking.

wants, I'm sure it'll all be fine. I had random bleeding at 5 weeks with DD, not linked to DTD or anything and I still remember the icy panic of it all... I feel lucky to have had none so far.

hawthers, hope you're feeling a bit better about it all.

Hooray biscuits, 13 weeks! loads of the way through!!!!

Right, best go back and see DD...

dreamfeeder · 22/09/2011 17:33

p.s. biscuits, i'd never dare guess about things for the house, i'd totally screw it up... I panic about all house things that I will have to live with for a long time due to the expense f changing them, and we're currently trying to choose a blind for our over-size kitchen window which is killing us! We can both agree perfectly.... however the fabric doesn't come big enough. So we have to have a plain blind.... but what colour!!! We're trying to decide if we'd hate a pretty bright red or if it'd be funky?!?!?! with fake oak cupboards, and about to get a lightish stone effect Karndean floor.... And I can't can't can't decide!

LoveInAColdClimate · 22/09/2011 18:16

How about duck egg blue, dream? I think that would be really nice with those colours. Or, controversially, how about a chartreuse green?

scarletfingernail · 22/09/2011 20:03

dream the cold and chesty coughs have been lingering in our house for a month now. Every time we think it's buggering off it comes back with a vengence the next day. Hope your DD gets over it soon. It's not fun having a poorly child when you're feeling rough too.

wants good to hear the bleeding has stopped. At least you know what caused it, I think it's pretty common after dtd.

Is anyone else freezing cold? I've been icy all day today. At one point I was laying on the settee with a t-shirt, 2 jumpers and a duvet on and I was still shivering. Had to make a lovely hot and spicy chilli con carne for dinner to warm me up.

Biscuitsandtea · 22/09/2011 21:46

Aww jaggy and biscuits lovely news re your little boys birthdays. DS's 3rd is not too far away and it's such a lovely age now they understand so much more and communicate better. I know he's going to love it this year. I'm also getting excited about Christmas, I think this will be the year he understands what's going on and will love it.

Biscuitsandtea · 22/09/2011 22:05

Yeah - it was a cracking day actually - and you're right Scarlet it is such a fun age! Last year DS kind of got Christmas but didn't really know what was coming iyswim? Like he understood Santa etc but had no concept of what was to come. So that was nice in a way but this year he was excited about his birthday because he understood what was coming so I'm looking forward to the same thing at Christmas too!

Just need the tidying elves to come in now.....

mememummy · 23/09/2011 09:07

DD will be 4 this december :( such a big girl now. damn cheeky. she want to know so much about this baby she talks to him/her she kisses my belly and she tells everyone she meets shes going to be a big sister. sure i have felt a few flutterings only when i lie on my back though 15 weeks today see the consultant weds cant wait! plus pay day today we can buy food!!!!!! haha so fed up of freezer crap x

dreamfeeder · 23/09/2011 12:50

scarlet I'm freezing cold a lot at the min. Looking forward to a bit of bean-heating this winter, its meant to be a cold one... Don't think I got that much with dd though.

meme its lovely she's so excited about being a big sister! When did you tell her? Not that dd will understand even if we do tell her but i hope she likes having a sibling.

I have had a bad morning of sickness and despite a few dolly mixture I still feel tired and hungry and empty and sick. And to make it worse dd has just woken up early from her nap. Sigh. She's so high maintenance. I don't know anyone else with a 12month old they have to follow every second of the day as they fall over on a smash-your-brains-out kind of way...I literally don't get a second to myself when she's awake as she injures herself if I turn my back for one second. Tiring.

Wants3 · 23/09/2011 14:27

Hello everyone, just got back from work and am under DH's orders to put my feet up! I am going to have to go to town tomorrow and buy some stretchy trousers. My tummy feels really uncomfortable in jeans and I am often bloated so I need the extra space. I have a feeling I am going to be huge with this baby! I had a big bump last time but it was mostly water:)
Sorry to here about all the cold bugs hanging about!
dreamand scarlet you need a slanket!

jenfraggle · 23/09/2011 14:52

Well I was sick 3 times during my lunchbreak and feel like I haven't finished yet :(

scarletfingernail · 23/09/2011 15:27

Oooh I'd love a slanket wants. Gonna put one of them on my Christmas list Grin. How lovely of your DH to instruct you to have a guilt free rest. My DH often tells me to go and have a lie down when I tell him how exhausted I'm feeling. But I can tell that he really thinks I'm just being lazy. The problem I have with DH is that he is one of these people who is full of energy and busy all of the time. He cannot sit still. If something needs doing he will do it now, not put it off until tomorrow. Which is great, except he also thinks anyone who is different must be lazy. Therefore it frustrates him that I like to relax more than he does, even when not pregnant.

Sorry to hear about the sicknes dream and jen I'm so relieved I've not yet been sick at all. Although I often feel sick, I can cope with that. Actual puking I fear would turn me into a complete wreck.
