Taking liberties again Grin as there are only 5 posts to go on old thread. Hope everyone is well this morning!

Just logged on quickly to catch up with all of you and feel absolutely stunned by chip's devastating news. Chip I am so sorry and thinking of you so much.

I totally agree with suggestion of sending something. Just wish there was more we could do. This feels like such a supportive and loving group and I just hate that one of us is going through something so horrendous.

Sleep well all.

Caliphora · 05/10/2011 23:44

I'm also up for the arrangement of something - any ideas (I liked the rose)?

Merlioness · 06/10/2011 03:47

Yes, definitely up for something too. The rose would be lovely I think, as it is in Sylvie-Rose's name too!
I agree with what Caz said about sending something small, like a card now and the rose, or bigger thought a little later when chip will be able to cope with it a little better hopefully. Gosh, that sounds so rubbish :( Sorry, I am not sure how I can phrase these things well, but I hope you all know what I mean :(

And I agree with pandia. Wish there was more we could do :(

Folicacid · 06/10/2011 05:05

Totally agree about sending something. Does anyone know Chip's contact details so we can do this? Happy to be guided by Caz as to what is best with regards to card or flowers etc.

TwoJackRussellsandabean · 06/10/2011 06:32

I was thinking just the same thing and was figuring out what we could do, does cep or lk have her added as a friend on facebook?

voodoomunkee · 06/10/2011 07:00

I'm happy to be involved in sending something too.

cep · 06/10/2011 07:37

Morning Ladies, I have her as a friend on fb but there's no address just an e-mail address. I don't think it's the right time to start asking for address right now either. But am up for doing something for her.

mashpot · 06/10/2011 08:02

Oh no, I'm so sorry to read Chip's devastating news and can only add that my thoughts are with her and family. I'm sure Cep is right but I would also be pleased to contribute to something when the time is right.

Merlioness · 06/10/2011 08:13

Hmm, a quick Google search lists a hospital where chip seems to work. Does anyone know if it's current? If so we could send the card there and ask them to pass it on on our behalf? Just a thought

Bluetinkerbell · 06/10/2011 08:24

Or someone who's got her on FB friends, could message one of her family members/friends to ask for address so we can send a card to her home. I fear passing it through the hospital it might get lost, which would be sad.

stripeymummy · 06/10/2011 09:32

chip I am so so sorry. I really don't know what to say, there are no words. I hope you get the answers you need soon. Lots and lots of love xxx

Peachy · 06/10/2011 10:35

Hi guys

Just to let you now there is a thread for condolences for CM

here

Merlioness · 06/10/2011 10:59

Thank you Peachy

cep · 06/10/2011 11:04

There are no messages on her fb page of condolence, which leads me to believe that it's not common knowledge yet. Personally i don't want to be the one to be informing people if they don't know.

merlioness did your search come up with the Mairead o'leary opticians?

So what are the thoughts of what to do? and when?

Peachy · 06/10/2011 11:07

She emailed me and I messaged her to say in X hours I will start a thread for condolences if you ahve not asked me not to, she has been a friend for years now

htg

Peachy · 06/10/2011 11:07

Sorry hth

Have also sent her a link to it so she knows

TBH I suspect it's the least of her cares poor love

cep · 06/10/2011 11:15

Peachy do you happen to know her rl address? I'm not sure what we've decided to do or when but would like to send something to her.

Merlioness · 06/10/2011 11:35

Yes cep that's the one.
Sounds like Peachy might be able to help with the RL address though hopefully. I think it would still be nice if we could do something for chip seperately

alicat10 · 06/10/2011 13:13

Also v happy to contribute when time is right, I too like the idea of something just from the Nov girls

Peachy · 06/10/2011 13:17

Not yet (she's in a different country to me) but have asked for it so I an send a card and will let you know when I get it.

I know how useful AN support threads are- I met CM on one of these for both our DS4s- and I think you guys doing something separately is a good idea. Bless you all.

TwoJackRussellsandabean · 06/10/2011 14:18

Afternoon ladies, was having a think about which rose we could send, david austin are always a good firm and they have one rose called Lady Sylvia, here, which might be appropriate? Thought it would be helpful to do something whilst we are waiting for her address?

Merlioness · 06/10/2011 16:02

TwoJack I love the idea and I really like the David Austin roses. I have googled a little and there are some Lady Sylvia roses that seem to have fuller flowers and are on a stem, rather than a bush. But I love the soft colour and the name in either case :)

KellyKettle · 06/10/2011 17:24

A lovely idea, I will look out for what I can do to contribute.

SnoozleDoozle · 06/10/2011 17:37

Count me in, I would also like to contribute in any way I can.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 06/10/2011 18:26

Lovely idea for the rose. Count me in and let me know what is needed when the time is right.
