Taking liberties again Grin as there are only 5 posts to go on old thread. Hope everyone is well this morning!

voodoomunkee · 02/10/2011 20:43

Thanks Ali.
They advised me when I rang to contact community midwife next week to arrange some physio even though it's 'not a quick process'. Hah am nearly 35 weeks! Then she suggested going to a&e as it doesn't appear to be an obstetric issue. Humph. Disnt even ask if the baby was active which i thought was a pretty standard question! Am just about to email my boss to say I won't be in tomorrow. Paracetamol isn't even touching the sides. Bah!

neverinamillionyears · 02/10/2011 20:46

snoozle I haven't read the thread that you have mentioned but from what you are saying, they sound like complete cocks sorry but it has to be said. Everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion but why go round typing things on a public domain purely to upset people. Complete tools if you ask me. I'm sure those people all type in text talk too. It's so nice on this thread as everyone types properly :)

Anyway, have a stitch right up in my ribs at the moment, so blooming annoying. Well i'm not sure if it is a stitch or a foot or hand sticking in.

Baby is lying transverse at the moment so I have a few weeks (8) to try and turn it. Am waiting on a new large swiss ball to help things along. Anyone else have this problem with baby?

Caliphora · 02/10/2011 21:00

voodoo When my hip gave in, they told me to go to A&E - a&e sent me straight to the labour ward where I got told off for wasting their time. Make sure A&E take a look at you properly, rather palm you off to a "less busy ward" to save time.

Snoozle When I made my first AIBU post, someone actually questioned whether I was real or not... Sod'em. I can completely understand how you feel - I was so set on a boy, and such a tom-boy that the thought of having a girl really scares me.

My weekend has been sooooo busy. Last night my feet and hands were so big, and me so tired and full of headache, that DP nearly marched me to the hospital, but it's better today.

As for the houseguest, the antics have continued by her repeatedly insulting one of my oldest friends, her having to borrow more money off me and DP - I've put a stop on it now as I am panicking about getting it back - as well as ruining my baby shower/house warming by sulking like a child. I'm not impressed.
She's tried being good and helping me clean today, but by now I'm so riled up that everything she does just winds me up even more - not rinsing the dishes in clean water after soaping them up, not putting the hoover away, "tidying" by just piling things on a table... I know she means well, and I want to be grateful and good, but hormones+heat+OCD is getting the better of me, I'm afraid.

I've not managed to read through all pages since Friday, so sorry for not tagging :(

voodoomunkee · 02/10/2011 21:32

I'm going to go and see my doctor in the morning. Can't imagine a&e having any time for me to be honest and I've not had the best experiences thus far at the maternity dept anyways. Am in total agony.
Cali god what an utter nightmare this house guest sounds. Surely she won't be here much longer?

alicat10 · 02/10/2011 22:03

Voodoo any chance you can get to a chiro? Mine helped me loads at short notice but obviously you have to pay. Doc can give you decent pain relief at least, hope you manage to get some rest.

Cali kick her out, she's no guest!

Snoozle it was enough for me not being a boy myself to feel worried about having a boy! Most of it has been fine (in fact nappy stuff is easier) but I have had to call on DH to deal with some things like standing up wees! DS has turned out to be a fairly boyish boy into cars, trains etc but is happy to watch strictly with me; DD on the other hand is a real tomboy currently enjoying learning to play rugby and last night told me she doesn't like the dancing or the noise when I put Strictly on

chipmonkey · 02/10/2011 22:08

Re lumpy breasts, that'll be the milk!Grin Mine are particularly lumpy when I'm due to feed or with Sylvie-Rose, express.

chipmonkey · 02/10/2011 22:09

Cali why are you putting up with this guest? No pregnant woman should be put upon like that, it's one thing having a nice houseguest who pitches in and does their share but she is really adding to your stress levels!

Caliphora · 02/10/2011 22:32

We're helping her with a bed for three weeks while she moves from Swansea to Manchester - she's out on Saturday and I can't wait to have the house to myself again.
She had promised to help with housework and the likes, but I should've known better than expecting that from her -despite being 22 she's incredibly naive and insensitive.

Oh well.

voodoo Sounds like a plan - hope you can get some sleep tonight.

voodoomunkee · 02/10/2011 22:41

Unfortunately finances 2 weeks before payday don't stretch to a chiro which is a damn shame as I know of a good one. Made it to bed. Stuck on one side. Dd is loaded with cold as is OH. We are a sickies bunch in this house.

Caliphora · 03/10/2011 00:33

Well, stuff just got a bit real as DP decided to pack a bag for hospital - I've had one or two "practice" ones tonight and he's panicking taking precautions...

It's weird seeing all the stuff packed in a bag in the hallway...

voodoomunkee · 03/10/2011 06:14

In light of my back OH has packed the hospital bags. I've had about 2 hours sleep and that was up until each time I wanted to turn over, then would wake up. Ow. Agony. Doctors opens at 8 am tempted to wait outside!

Caliphora · 03/10/2011 06:25

Who's having all my sleep?!
I've had 5 hours broken sleep, I'm now on the sofa trying to snooze as DP gets ready for work.
I can't see how I'm supposed to get all the rest I need before this Sprout pops out!

cep · 03/10/2011 07:46

morning ladies,

voodoo sorry you're in so much pain hon, do you have a turn up facility at your gp's? if not i'd definately get an emergency appt.

cali your guest sounds like a right pita, she's not there for much longer is she?

i've started hospital bag but not finished, i need to get it done by this weekend as ds and i are away for next week.

hope everyone has a good day.

Merlioness · 03/10/2011 08:00

voodoo hope you and family feel better soon and that the doctor can help!

cali I really feel for you. What a ridiculous person! I?d be falling over myself in gratitude for being put up and IMO it makes no difference if she?s only 22 Angry
I hope Saturday comes fast!

I'm another one that doesn't sleep well, though I can catch up during the day now.

Also, my hospital bag is still in the same state it as when Willow came along. Hopefully will be able to add to it this week and complete it by the weekend.

Hope everyone has a good Monday

voodoomunkee · 03/10/2011 08:18

Thanks ladies! Appt at docs in 30 mins, spoken to boss, had some toast and dd is off school. I am going to have to beg for some decent painkillers. I cannot take anymore of this!

Folicacid · 03/10/2011 08:20

Voodoo hope you are at the doctor's now and are getting some help. Sounds horrendous.

Is it wrong that I'm glad to hear that other people haven't finished hossie bag as yet. Mine needs finshing off and was started what feels like months ago...

OH has just reminded me that this is my last monday morning getting ready for work for some time...oh yeah.

Folicacid · 03/10/2011 08:21

X post with you Voodoo....don't take no for an answer, cry if you have to!

voodoomunkee · 03/10/2011 09:53

Codeine is my friend. The dr thinks it is softening of ligaments or just general pregnancy related back strain. Got codeine to take when paracetamol isn't sufficient. All the time then!

TwoJackRussellsandabean · 03/10/2011 10:17

Yay, voodoo,

glad you got better drugs, I've been taking co-codemol for my shoulder for the last couple of weeks, the only thing that helps the pain die down enough to get some sleep, not just for me but for DH, hope you are feeling better soon :)

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 03/10/2011 10:27

Oh voodoo I feel your pain - suffer every so often from crippling back pain (partial slipped disc). Touch wood nothing this pg so far but I do remember asking DP to kill me the first time it happened. This was way before DD and I was taking ibuprofen not realsing its paracetamol that is needed.

I'm iin a little bit of pain - had flu jab. Owww the jab site is sore!!

Caliphora · 03/10/2011 11:24

It never ends! At MW, my BP was 160/92!!!
Now sent to ANC for monitoring. Not impressed - let's see how long I need to stay in there!

CazandBelle · 03/10/2011 11:34

Dare I say it, but out house very almost looks like a little person is moving in now. Bomb site being transformed into something more presentable, I can actually see carpet again now I have space to put the baby things back in the baby room in their proper place!

KellyKettle · 03/10/2011 11:42

Hello all!

I haven't caught up yet but if I don't post now it's going to be even more tricky. DD is engrossed in Dora the Explorer so I have 10 mins or so.

Update: MW reckons baby is head down and on my left. I can't work it out so we'll see. Pam your advice was great. I made a list of all my worries and worked through them then went for coffee with some local mums-to-be/new mums and completely relaxed. That afternoon I felt a change in baby's position!

Which way round is your little boy now Pam?

I had to cancel my chiro today because I just can't get there. I went with DD last week - 2 buses & 1:40 min journey for an 8:30am appointment. Nightmare. (I don't drive & DH was working away).

I told the receptionist this morning that I can't make my last 2 appointments and she said she doesn't have the authority to cancel them but the doctor will call me back. I was a bit irritated by her comment - if I can't get there then there isn't anything the doctor can do - authority or not.

I think they just want me to keep paying. They've been trying to get me to go to a free, yet compulsory, "workshop" on a Tuesday evening. 36 weeks pg with a toddler (who can't attend) and a husband who works away. I haven't been able to go but they called me at 7:30pm on Tuesday to ask why I wasn't there. It's just a sales exercise and it really puts me off them.

I'm getting lots of bh now and period type pain/low down pressure.

Co-sleeper is en-route from Germany, just ordered car seat and the MW is dropping off the birth box & G&A this week! Eek!

MrsA thanks for the PM - so many similarities that it helped me to explain to DH why I had niggles. I will reply when I get on the PC. Hope things are going swimmingly with the new MW!

I've set up the nursing glider chair in the corner of our bedroom. It looks so sweet though it probably will sit there, unused...

Ok, off to read back over the last week or so. Will pop back later or tomorrow x

PamSco · 03/10/2011 11:44

Howdy all. Been on an impromptu sneaky weekend away. Just back last night. Shrewsbury was gorgeous and a night in Liverpool on Saturday a bonus. Lovely time was had - curry in Telford, chinese in Liverpool food-tastic!

MrsA we were driving by Speke Hall when you were there :) but we went to the new Liverpool Museum at the Pier Head.

snoozle I've forayed onto other boards here, there are some truly unpleasant people around. Really worried that they are allowed to procreate! Oops now I'm being a biatch.

Woohoowhooo great news from the baby girls - well done on the milestones.

Cali you seem to be a very patient lady! Less than a week to go Wink

voodoo feeling for you hun - not long to go. Hug

Just back from mw - yet another one. She is now a regular mw for the area and is really nice. All bloods are normal, yay, iron was lower level of normal so I've bought some spatone. Blood pressure up a wee bit but still normal.

Our hallway is packed with furniture - cot, swingy crib, playpen, changing table - all given to us by family and friends. So lucky! Feeling overwhelmed.

PamSco · 03/10/2011 11:51

Busy today - lots of cross posts!

Cali hope you get to relax and bring that BP down. Visualise your blood slowing down with deep breathing - I bet it will drop when your lodger goes Wink

Kelly brilliant news on spinning baby :) The Boy is head down back to back where he likes to be. I went round Tesco after teh mw and I felt his back come to the front as I was wandering around - makes me grimace but he has continued round and is back to back again. He is so mobile I'm not too worried.

As soon as I'm off work I'll be more free to be on hands and knees more.
