poppet she is absolutely gorgeous, glad to hear she is doing well

caz glad to hear that things have settled, hope it remains that way and that Xander will hang on for 3weeks until you are induced.

blue nice to see/hear from you. have fun ttc & fingers crossed for a BFP soon.

voodoo you're not the only one, I can't get enough of the smell of DS's hair at the mo!!

contraception BFing I wouldn't rely on, with DS I was told I wouldn't have a period until I stopped BFing - reality was after 3-4wks had my first period!! We def want more but won't considered until baby is nearly 3 as have a 2yr course that I want to do following mat leave.

alicat10 · 19/09/2011 22:53

Ok, embarrassing confession alert - my period came back so soon after DS that I actually rang the emergency MW - only a couple of days after my post partum bleeding stopped. So @ age 30 a medical professional had to tell me I was having a period [hangs head in shame]. No way I'd rely in BF! Esp. as this is def my last baby [sob]. Secretly hoping DH might suggest a little snip as hormonal options don't suit me

voodoomunkee · 19/09/2011 23:17

I have to physically stop myself eating it! I don't crave the smell of the liquid just powder. Also comfort sunshine fabric conditioner.....
It's ok to call me a freak, many have before now!

I can't wait to see the new piccie's poppet, tucked up in bed at the mo though.

Good news about caz and Xander then.

Can't believe we r so near the end so quickly!!

chipmonkey · 19/09/2011 23:56

Poppet, Willow looks fab! She is absolutely beautiful. Isn't it wonderful when they get just that little bit chubbier.
Funny, Sylvie-Rose does that last pose as well. One of the nurses joked with her that it was fine for her to lie like that as a baby but not as a teenager!Smile

Merlioness · 20/09/2011 02:30

blue best of luck with TTC! Lovely of you to stop by.

Pam I know exactly what you mean about feeling pregnant! And, added to the Singapore list :)
Hope you are feeling better soon

voodoo I had a very productive day on Friday, which consisted of mumsnetting, facebooking and staring into space...
And you are obviously not a freak! Pica is not nice. I can?t believe people have called you a freak :(

Staceroo My body never agreed with the combined Pill, so will try the POP/mini pill. My sex drive dies with the combined one, condomes are a pain and all other hormonal contraceptives have estrogen in them, so are no good. TBH though, I have no idea. We want more children, but want roughly a 2 year break, though I want to still make use of the good insurance package and extra care in Singapore
I wouldn?t feel comfortable using BF as a contraceptive

Poppet Willow is gorgeous and looks as if she has grown a fair bit. Glad she is doing so well.
In regards to the last pose, I am sure that bubba does than inside me. Not very comfy

chip how is Sylvie-Rose doing?

caz really glad that things look up.

I am having a crappy day already and it?s only 9:30 here. Had a bad night again. First I can?t get to sleep for hours and then I can?t wake enough to go for one of the many nightly pees, which means I can?t sleep well.

This morning bubba has been kicking my stomach like crazy, so I have cramps and been sick. Fantastic :(

KellyKettle · 20/09/2011 04:34

Poppet I'm posting from my phone so can't look at Willow at the moment but will do tomorrow. So pleased to hear she is doing so well!

voodoo you're not a freak! I don't know anything about pica except my SIL craved the smell of rubber and wanted to chew it.

I have bought some bits for post baby. No trousers - I'm assuming I'll be in mat stuff for a while. I have bought a bf top from Jojo Maman Bebe though but only because it had tummy control and I hated my postnatal jelly belly!

I have also ordered a changing bag which looks very non-changing bag. I saw a beautiful one in John Lewis for £250 but just couldn't spend that much again. DH bought me a Lin & Leo bag 3 years ago and the back of it got really stained from rubbing on my jeans. The front pocket sustained some wet-wipe damage too. I thought it would dry fine but it left a big water mark.

I haven't thought about a hospital bag, breastpads or maternity pads. I need to but so far, it's like mental block. I just can't.

How organised is everyone else?

KellyKettle · 20/09/2011 04:44

Oh god, just made the mistake of reading some hospital bag threads. Panic! I haven't got anything and the essentials list is long.

I'm having a bloody home birth but this is my just-in-case bag and I want to be organised at home anyway.

Merlioness · 20/09/2011 05:31

Kelly don't stress. The "Essential" lists always seem to contain a lot of non-essentials. Well, to my FTM eyes anyway.

I have started throwing stuff for my hospital bag into a huge Mothercare bag, so not very organised. I am leaving the getting organised until after I finish work.

TwoJackRussellsandabean · 20/09/2011 07:20

Morning all,

good to hear Zander is holding on there Caz, not much longer to go...

Re contraception have already requested that I get fitted for the implant while still in hospital, cannot afford to have any accidents, nursery fees for one are enough and we need my salary so cant be a sahm unless dh gets an amazing job at twice the salary he's on at the moment. Condoms dont work cos dh is too big for them Blush, but he's on a warning that i want him to have the snip after we have another baby (fingers crossed).

Am off to have another growth scan to see how big the monster bub is growing, then going to try to get an appointment with my GP, think I have a trapped nerve in my shoulder, so so painful and paracetamol just isn't working at all, hoping doc might have something stronger that he can give me Sad

Hope everyone else has a better day, I've used up all the swearing credits for the whole month...

cep · 20/09/2011 07:44

morning.

poppet glad Willow is doing so well. chip you didn't say but i'm assuming Sylvie -Rose is doing fantastically as well, so pleased for you both.

caz glad everything is ok, you hang in there and take care of yourself.

i have a few baby clothes out and ready to put in a hospital bag but haven't actually got one together yet.

well i'm off to work now, (only 10 working days left) soo tired.

PamSco · 20/09/2011 08:56

Morning all.

Feeling good today, good yoga session last night. Need to start using that dvd more doh!

Organisation - got all the stuff I think is essential - pads, The Boy's duds, breasts, comfy knickers, nappies, car seat, car MOTd, full of diesel and serviced. I've got other stuff but they are nice to haves not essential. The main problem is that the "stuff" is hidden in carrier bags around a tip of a house! Need to bring together and print a list for Scott to check in case of need.

Contraception condoms. He's adept at them and doesn't suffer greatly like your bloke twojacks what a terrible shame Wink I'm also very very predictable with my cycle. I'm wondering if that will change?

Willow you are real cutie, making your mammy proud growing well. You go girl! Poppet hope Jacob is doing ok with new situation.

Good news on Caz thanks for relaying here Blue.

Good luck with growth scan twojacks mine today as well - I'm visualising optimal positions - come on boy make me proud!

Hope everyone else gets through work comfortably. 25 day countdown started yesterday - doesn't seem worth counting. I have put my leaving lunch in diary though.

lktoday5 · 20/09/2011 09:25

just swinging by to say poppet - how cute is willow?!!! she's adorable, you must be very proud. Also makes it very real for me seeing photos like that in a 'thats what is in my belly' kind of way!! Hope she continues to gain weight and pose brilliantly Wink

KellyKettle · 20/09/2011 09:36

Car seat! Oh bugger

MooseyMoo · 20/09/2011 09:57

poppet willow is gorgeous, no wonder you are a proud mummy. Keep gaining those ounces/pounds Willow and Sylvie-Rose.

Mini moo has been cutting some impressive moves. Lots of limbs sticking out just before going to sleep. DH thought it was hilarious seeing my belly do Mexican waves. Love it.

Trying to sell double bed thru gumtree. One person set up a viewing then didn't turn up. Really peed me off. And second person today didn't turn up but has rearranged as he was stuck in traffic. Sigh. Can't wait to sell it as I can then buy new cot bed for DD and decorate her room, well, up up some stickers.

Waiting for DD to settle herself for morning nap. Bout to watch britains next top model. Also have downtown abbey, dr who, and a couple of movies to watch. Love autumn tv.

KellyKettle · 20/09/2011 10:10

p.s. Where is MrsA lately?

NotJustKangaskhan · 20/09/2011 10:52

KelleyKettle Nop, just everyone thought she was and I was given long speeches before the scan about the issues of breech. She turned out to just have a bony butt.

And my planning is pretty much still at list level. I have plenty of lists, but doing it is another story Wink. My husband did get the newborn clothes out which is progress.

voodoomunkee · 20/09/2011 11:01

Morning all. I swear it is a Monday not a Tuesday just by how stressful my morning has been getting kids off to school and organising work for staff to do whilst their boss is off! Ah well nearly time to crack on and type a report - quite theraputic actually cos can stick my earphones in and type away. Got invite to a meeting at the Uni re the Masters - the date of the meeting is my due date! Ha, I shall be declining.

I must look at Willows pictures as soon as I have finished typing this! Bet she is beautiful.

Kelly don't stress about what you need to buy etc. It will get done and what doesnt, well, it will when it is urgent! Maybe order all the personal bits n pieces to pick up at Boots? I think reserve and collect is a fab thing!

I have decided that the cot is going to remain stored away until the bubs is a few months old. My bedroom is not big enough and to be honest neither is my house so all this extra equipment is making it a bit of a struggle so am going to have to become adept at minimalistic living!

Right well hope everyone is well. I am alright today, waiting to see how the heartburn goes.

voodoomunkee · 20/09/2011 11:04

Well Poppet! She is a little treasure!! Doing so well and the difference in her is fantastic! Such clever thread babies we have to be growing so well!! Keep it up :)

Ziggimajiggi · 20/09/2011 13:09

Poppet you have every right to be a proud mummy! I am so pleased for you both and how well the VLO is doing :)

contraception Not sure what we'll do about this one...I always wanted babies relatively close together so when I feel ready we'll have to have big chat.

Stupid boss has just justified excluding me from a meeting because I probably won't recall it anyway with pregnancy brain and my mat leave starts at the end of next week....RUBBISH!

Feeling well emotional today and just want my lovely husband to give me a hug. He is so gentle and kind and understanding, I am feeling the love!

PMA: Wonderful SIL bought us a pacapod and I'm over the moon with it :) Never had a changing bag before but it looks a-maz-ing!
www.pacapod.com/shop/baby-nappy-bag-large-portland?option=black

Also, going to see my friends wee 1 week old baby tonight. Cannot wait!

Love to you all and hope you're having a nice day
xxx

Staceroo · 20/09/2011 14:10

Kelly and others thanks for the advice re bf as contraception. I think I may book an appointmnet with GP before baby is due to discuss. The risk of unintentionally falling is quite high with us i think as we never really ttc much at all. Decided new years eve was my last pill and last drink, and i never had a period after that and looking at the maths it would have been my first proper cycle that we got pg! (DH very proud of himself!)

2Jack Too big for them!!!! Shock

We really struggle with condoms as I'm slightly allergic to latex and the latex free ones are horrible!!!!

voodoo i think you should speak to mw about peculiar cravings like that!

Poppet I cant believe she's over 4 weeks old now! Well done to the both of you on the progress!

ziggi enjoy the fact that you don't have to sit through the meeting and can catch up on mn instead! I've found I've been missed off invite lists for training courses etc and love it! lol

I haven't got anywhere near packing (or even buying stuff) for a hospital bag yet, but there is a thought process. Nursery furniture being delivered today, but we have a builder in all week, a couple of weeks then the carpets will be fitted, then we'll build the furniture, then I can wash and put away all of baby girls clothes, then I can start packing bags!

If she comes along before that... then I guess well just wing it!

Having a much better day today! No more pains in my side! Yay!

PamSco · 20/09/2011 14:18

ziggi I think you have just been given permission to go home - get a cake - feet up and wait for a Glee repeat. After all, that is all your pregnancy brain can cope with I'm sure.

In fact leave quickly in case you forget where you live!

Off fro growth scan now... Tarra a bit...

OP posts:
cep · 20/09/2011 14:36

ziggi how bloomin rude. i was uming and ahing over pacapods i do like the, but was just worried abit about the other pocket being too constricted.

H007 · 20/09/2011 16:33

Regarding contraception I haven't even thought about it we haven't had sex since pos and to be honest can't understand people who are doing it, it really is the last thing I fancy and I feel really bad about it... Can't imagine doing it after either but guess it's something I'm going to have to think about!

With the hospital bag I've bought most of the stuff I think I need so it's in the house but there is no organisation to it! As we have a brand new bed I did put a maternity pad on the bed when I changed the sheets... Just made me realise how time is going and how real it is!!

Still can't imagine myself with a little baby

KellyKettle · 20/09/2011 17:34

stace contraception has probably moved on since I last looked into it Smile

I was also Shock at twojacks DH!

Hope the scan went well Pam - do you still get a little pic each time?

H007 I think it's quite shocking how quickly time is flying! It seems like last week I was moaning about MS.

My bump is v low this time. I haven't had anywhere near as much heartburn as I had with DD. Does anyone have any theories on this? I am measuring fine but I feel like this baby is smaller. It could just be hanging low because of my weakened pelvic floor Grin

TwoJackRussellsandabean · 20/09/2011 18:11

Sorry guys, I wasn't being show-offy or controversial, he just has big feet so to say....

Growth scan went well, still a big bub, but not as ahead for dates as I was, now on the 95th percentile rather than 98th as it was a month ago, so still a monster, just not such a big one :) Was very sweet as bub was sleeping throughout the scan and for the first time got to see the profile properly without him/her bouncing around.

Had a medical student in with my midwife today he was quite lovely but also a little bit useless and kept asking my permission to do things like feel for the position of the baby, who objected by booting him when the was feeling around for the bub's head - not hugely comfortable for me it has to be said.

Gestational diabetes is getting better, consultant actually smiled at me today which was progress from the last time :) Hoping for an induction at 38th week though, would only have four and a half weeks left to wait then, getting very impatient to meet our wee one.

Worth saying that if you have other niggles to mention them to your midwife, mine got the obstetrician to give me some co-codamol for my neck, so dont have to wait for an appointment with my gp and should have a better nights sleep tonight, I really hope so anyway.

Re contraception, the health visitor/midwife should talk to you about it before you leave hospital or at your six week checkup, but I mentioned it to the community midwife already to make sure that it is dealt with.
